Vacay is over

Sunday

We got up together in the middle of the night to shuffle off to the camp bathrooms. Sadly it was raining lightly and I should have thought to bring in the folding chairs (although it might have been too late). Although there was grass, the bottoms of my slippers got muddy.

I didn't sleep much after that. I got up when I heard the voices of children from another cabin. It wasn't raining any more. I went over to Michelle's cabin to fill my water bottles. She was trying to get the fire started. I walked through deep weeds to get wood from the pile. I could only carry two logs. Casey met me and took one. He put one in the fire pit and one along side. Cedric peeled bark off of the second one for kindling. Casey used 'boyscout water' as he called it. But only the kindling and charred wood from last night would burn.

I went back to the cabin to make and eat my usual breakfast while Chris took a shower. Then I went back to her cabin to hang out. She boiled water for oatmeal. I ate some blueberries. Then we packed up the food table. I went back to my cabin to pack. Chris moved the boxes and luggage to the car.

Then we went in search of the older gentleman, grandfather to the lady in charge. He took us inside the A frame to get the hearts and tongue that I had purchased. We put them in the cooler, having to take everything else out. He talked about coming to Dugway sometime.

Chris stored the cooler in the car. We followed Michelle and Casey to Great Basin National Park to the visitor's center. I sat outside in the sun while the others went inside. I asked the park ranger about the blue flowers because I have the same ones in my yard. She had an app called SEEK. She took a picture and the answer was 'asters'. Short ones, to be sure.

We headed back, but they had to stop. So because of the frozen meat, we continued on, arriving in Dugway about 3:30. We unpacked the car and the damp camp chairs. I set them up to dry out. I unpacked the food boxes and the meat and my suitcase. Chris started laundry. I walked to the post office for mail, and watered the plants. I thought about going to the pool for the last day, but was too tired.

At 5, I threw the last of the ground beef in the toaster oven. We signed into Discord for the family game. As usual, while the others discussed next steps in terms I didn't understand, I checked messages and pieced puzzles. I saw Michelle post a pic from the pool, with a rainbow in the background. I asked her for pics of Great Basin for my blog.

After the game, I made tea and we watched one episode of Criminal Minds. I stayed up to catch up on e-mail, then I got ready for bed.
