Face masks for everybody

Last night it seemed Chris had caught the Snoronavirus. I wished I could sleep 6 rooms away. I poked him until the snoring stopped. Finally I went to sleep, thinking about the last facemask I needed to make.
thou shalt not covid thy neighbor's wife
I got up at 8:30 to shut off alarm. Chris was on a group call. I brushed and swished. When I went to make the last facemask, things were much further along than I remembered. The mask was already cut out and both layers sewn together. All I had to do was add elastic.
I took my supplements and checked e-mail. Then I sterilized the masks with uv-C wand, and packaged them in baggies. I finished my supplement routine, then washed up and got dressed. I took the extra facemask and went to the Korean clinic. I was not expecting Dr. Grace, but I gave her the extra face mask. She was extremely happy with it because she was born in the year of the horse and there were horses on the fabric.
He showed me an e-mail from the tax lady. She referred to some form we could use to pay the remaining taxes, but he didn't have it and I could not find it online. What I did find was a form to get a sales account number. So I filled it out and he got it ready for the mail. She wanted me to call her credit card bank and get them to stop sending bills for awhile. It took a long time to get a customer service rep on the phone and when I did, that lady would not talk to me. So that lady had to get a Korean interpreter to talk to Dr. Grace. I handed my phone to Dr. Grace and she and the two ladies talked it out. Dr. Lee offered me a foot bath but I didn't have time. Dr. Grace gave me a grapefruit and asked for two more masks with longer elastic, both with the horse and flag fabric.
I went back to post and parked in the back of the commissary lot. I met Gabriele there and gave her two packs of 4 masks. Then we talked for a little bit. She said wearing a mask might become mandatory but people won't be able to buy them. Senseless.
It was getting cold and windy, so we said goodbye and went home. I prepared my breakfast and ate it in front of my laptop. I also ate an orange. The door bell rang. Chris opened it to find a package. It was the new shower filter. He installed it and went back to work. I checked e-mail until it was time to go. Kurt wanted me to make him a couple of facemasks. Then my phone rang. Susan K called to see if we were ok and did we need anything. She also talked to me about fixing up a certain spot in the church flowerbed.
When I got to church, I took pics of the wall and the garden spot. I put two jars of peanut butter in the food pantry. I recorded the offerings that were mailed in. No cash, only checks. I shredded some old envelopes. I would have done more, but it seems the recycling did not get emptied last week so there was no room for the shredded paper. I wrote a check for next Sunday's offering and put it in the safe.
I took the stack of checks to the bank down on Whitesburg. I waited in line for 15 minutes in the drive-thru lane. On the way back, I stopped at a dollar store but didn't find anything I was looking for. I came home, wrote another check and put it in the mail. I also brought in mail, but nothing exciting.
I put on my heaviest coat and went for a walk around the neighborhood. I went by myself because Stacey was out of town. Just as well, because it says in the Bible that “thou shalt not CoViD thy neighbor's wife.”
When I got back, I read some e-mail and tapped with some videos. At 6, I ate one of the sweet potatoes that Chris baked. I also ate a bowl ful of corned beef stew. I was too full to eat salad.
I sewed a facemask while listening to a podcast on mold issues. I made my vitamin drink. When Chris was ready, he pulled up Locke and Key on Netflix. We watched two episodes while I sipped the drink. Then he made his lunch for tomorrow and went to bed. I stayed up for the usual ending to my day.
* Any ideas how to spruce up this area? *

There's more where that came from

I got up at 8, thinking I had heard my 8:30 alarm. But clearly I couldn't have. Chris was at his laptop listening to men at other locations give their base Covid status. I took a supplement, then brushed and swished. For some reason, the last update to my computer had turned on the backlit keyboard. I scoured the web looking for a solution. None of them worked for my computer. I ended up on the HP site and found the info I needed. It was quite simple.
I worked on the masks. When I checked my laptop to see the weather report, I ended up reading e-mail. I worked on the masks some more, taking apart mistakes and doing them over.
At 11:20, I got ready and drove over to the MWR garden area. Sherry was waiting for me. We went walking for about 50 minutes and discussed mask-making. When we got back to my car, I gave back the book she lent me.
When I got home, the pest control people were next door. I was talking to Chris while making breakfast, when they called us out back. I saw termites flying around my windowsill after they sprayed in the weep hole under it! I dashed over to the vacuum and sucked up all the critters I could see. But like yesterday, I had to wait for the stragglers, and pick them off as they emerged. After awhile, I finished my breakfast, then caught a few more stragglers. I read e-mail and watched videos of songs rewritten to refer to the coronavirus. I emptied my vacuum into a bag and put it in the outdoor trash. I did not see anything moving in there.
I finished the masks as much as I could, considering that I had now forgotten who ordered which fabrics. Two of them were supposed to have ties instead of elastic, but which ones? I took a pic of what I had and sent it to Gabriele for her opinion.
I went to the post office, and got 3 packages. I brought them home, and opened them. Two of them were supplements, but not the vitamin C that I ordered. I read e-mail for awhile and cleaned my sewing area so there would be no more surprises. I asked Chris to break off an aloe branch. I scooped it out, put it in a container, and refrigerated it. It reminded me of ectoplasmic residue. I went out to check the mail. The world was wet because it had rained, but had stopped. I found another package of supplements in there.
After checking my e-mail again, I filled a bowl with corned beef stew. I read as I ate. I also made a large salad and ate that. I soaked a cotton ball in vitamin C and placed it in my left nostril. I took a mask that was cut wrong and made a smaller size from it.
When Chris had finished his game, we didn't know what to watch. Chris perused Netflix. We tried watching one and a half episodes of Ranch. Chris seemed to like the humor, but it fell flat on me. Then we tried the first episode of Locke and Key. It was interesting, but the blurb says it purports to have an element of horror. That is not something I want to see before going to bed. Afterward, Chris went to bed and I stayed up to blog and get ready for bed.
* One left to go. *

Luckily I was sewing at the time...

I fell asleep in the usual amount of time last night, but then woke up in the middle of the night because of a sudden storm. The wind and rain were ferocious. But it did not last long. I went back to sleep and did not hear Chris get up. I woke up later and noticed him gone. I tried to go back to sleep, but I could not. So finally I got up and found him on his laptop. He came back to bed with me, and we slept.
I got up abut 9, and brushed and swished. I watched our church service on Youtube. It went well. The bulletin was attached, but I did not know how to view it and the service at the same time. I didn't want to print it all out, either.
Afterward, Chris and I showered together, to save water. Then we went to Publix. This time the cereal aisle was almost bare. And the dried bean section. But there were eggs today. Anyway, we bought groceries and went home. Chris pulled the food out of the bags while I washed the cans and boxes. Then I made and ate breakfast.
After breakfast, I put on my bathing suit and read outside in the sun. When the book was finished, I came in. I cut and pinned mask pieces. I texted Stacey and laid out in the sun. When I came in, she had texted me to come over, so I changed clothes and went to her house. Her husband told her not to be too long because they were expecting someone. So she and I walked around the circle once. A new car was in her driveway by then, so I bid her goodbye and went home.
I put on the Lizzy Albright videos and sewed until I noticed a swarm of termites coming from the window sill in front of my machine. I got out the vacuum cleaner and swept them up over the next half hour or so, watching intently as each one appeared. After that they emerged few and far between. I texted our neighbors to be on the lookout.
I called Faye and got her voice mail, but she called me back. We talked about her experiences taking Dad to all the grocery stores today. We also talked about how her hospital is dealing with the virus. Apparently masks suddenly became in short supply, like they were being hoarded. She and co-workers experimented with making disposable masks out of instrument covers and staples.
After the call, I ate a bowl of corned beef stew for supper. I listened to more of the story, then fixed myself a big salad. Chris was ready before I finished eating, so I ate while watching The Umbrella Academy. We watched a second episode as well, not realizing that it was the last one available on Netflix. Chris went to bed and I stayed up to blog.
* I had no idea they had made so many tunnels. *

Everybody is ok

I got up at 8:30. I brushed and swished. I soaked the sprouts. I put together practitioner supplements for the week. I tried out the stimulator that had been charging overnight. It did not work. Chris slept in. When he finally got up, I asked him for a massage, and he gave me one. It got the sheets all greasy, but hey, it's laundry day. I got up and took a shower, with at least 5 rounds of hot and cold at the end. Then I put the fan on to dry out the bathroom and got dressed. I cut out mask pieces from fabric and a bag.
I got caught up reading e-mail, then realized it was another sunny day. I took a walk to the picnic table beyond the soccer field. I sat there and read with one bare foot on the ground. It was almost 1 when I came back. I made and ate breakfast while watching a video of a professor who talked about Google and Facebook collecting info on all of us and selling it to businesses so they can target us at our most vulnerable moments. When it was over, I checked the mail. Amongst the letters was one addressed to me supposedly from Donald Trump asking me to join a group of his supporters. I guess they collected the wrong info on me, 'cause I just pitched it into recycling.
I searched storage looking for more reusable grocery bags. I found another black one and a green one. I cut more pieces, and was getting ready to sew when Michele called. I think she was checking on us. She and I had a long discussion. Then I called Dad, but talked to Darleen at length. Finally Dad got on the line, but he kept misunderstanding what I said. I heard Faye come in, but Dad could not get her attention. I ended the call so he could hang up the phone and talk to her.
It was almost 5, so I went to two dollar stores in case they close earlier than usual. I got more hair elastic and a red reusable bag. I sent Stacey a text, then mowed the front yard. Usually the landscape people do that, but for some reason they haven't. Chris didn't understand why I would mow the front lawn, but I wanted it to look nice. Stacey had returned my text. She was eating supper, so I had a bowl of corned beef stew, and then made a salad. As I ate, I read the new by-laws for our church.
I was almost done eating the salad when Stacey knocked on the door. I put the salad aside and went out. We walked three times around the circle and then went behind Housing to check on the irises. New ones were blooming, but they were just as white as the first ones.
When I got home, I finished my salad, and ate blueberries. I picked up my wand and went next door to sanitize their phones and keyboards. We also talked about termites. She showed me the damage to her window sill and said someone was coming Monday to treat the outsides of the structure.
When I got back, it was after 8. I made my evening drink, and watched two episodes of The Umbrella Academy with Chris. Then we put clean sheets on the bed. Chris laid down and read for awhile. I stayed up to blog and stretch and brush and swish.
* I am running out of quilt pics because I have no group meetings for new ones. *

5 of Hearts

I got up around 8:15. I soaked sprouts, and took supplements. I finished the face mask from last night, and sent a message to Gabriele. I opened the box for the new stimulator and plugged it in to charge. I read e-mail and listened to a short audio about drinking hot beverages throughout the day, using saunas or exercising to increase body temp, and not taking Advil or Tylenol because they made the coronavirus worse. If heat kills the virus, then these hot flashes ought to keep me safe.
I searched my sewing room for elastic of any kind. I got a call from Dr. Lee. He wants me to come in Tuesday morning to pay more taxes. I brushed and swished. I made bread for Chris. I used the UV wand to disinfect my phone and laptops and the mask. I mixed up some powdered vit C in water. I soaked a cotton ball in it and stuck it in my nose. Then I soaked another one and put it on my gums above the infected tooth.
It was a sunny day, and the temp inside was up to 82. I took a walk, then made breakfast. Tina came by with two dozen eggs. I paid and thanked her. I ate breakfast, and listened to interview with Dr. Klinghardt. I sewed another face mask, or two.
I texted Stacey that I should be back by 6 and we could walk then. William called. He said Dad was playing with the little keyboard and that his cognition had improved. After the call, I made up all the mid-afternoon supplements for the next week. I asked Chris to hard boil a dozen eggs for me. I watched a little bit of a video, then headed out.
I went to Ruth's to meet Gabriele. But she was still with a client, so I walked around outside then sat in my car. When she opened the door, I went in. I gave her the facemasks and asked her to choose the fabrics for the other masks. Her last client was there, and she wanted to buy some also. I had fabrics there for Gabriele to choose and the other lady chose some as well. I made a note in my phone so I wouldn't forget. Gabby told me that massages had been canceled until further notice.
Then I drove to a church past the dollar store. I went inside and bought more hair elastic since it worked so well. There was only one package left, but it was enough to make 6 masks. Then I proceeded to the church next to ours. Yarah was in the back of her truck, handing out orders. I got in 'line' but we were too far apart for it to be a real line. She spent too much time talking to a man who wasn't in line, probably he was a prospective customer. Finally, it was my turn to pick up 5 hearts. She had them bagged, but hadn't added up the price yet. So I waited for that, then paid her in cash.
Then I went home. I put the 5 hearts in the freezer. Chris had the corned beef ready. I ate supper waiting for Stacey to call. Finally she knocked on my door and we went walking around the circle. She was emoting about people hyping the current situation. We went around at least 4 times and maybe 5. Then she went home for her supper and I went home to watch Umbrella Academy with Chris.
After two episodes, he went to bed with a book and I stayed up to blog and do my pre-bedtime routine.

What a deal!

I stayed up late last night to tap on my tooth, the one with the old crown. It's just not happy. And the dentist office is closed, except for extreme emergencies involving great pain. Eventually I fell asleep. When I woke up this morning, I wished to sleep in. But when I heard the 8:30 alarm, I got up and shut it off. I took the first supplements, and stood in the kitchen sunshine, reading a book Stacey lent me. Then I brushed and swished. I started a new batch of sprouts. I played the Wednesday night music on my trombone. (six flats is not fun). I created a Ghostbusters/Coronavirus meme. I took the recycling out, and left the big bin at the curb for pickup.
Gabriele texted me asking me to come at 1 for my massage. Chris said I wasn't getting the whole social distancing thing. I washed dishes, and took more supplements. I read e-mail, and did tappings. Lots of people are posting tappings for the current situation and it's more than I can follow. It was sunny and warm, so I put the charcoal bags outside, then took a walk around the neighborhood.
When I got back, I made and ate breakfast. I washed up, got dressed and went to see Gabriele at the vitamin store. There was a sign saying 'curb-side service only' and the place was locked. However, presently, Gabriele came and opened the door. She was still chatting with her last customer so I sat and stared at the products on the shelves. Then she and I went into her little room and changed the sheets while we talked about...the coronavirus! I offered to make her a facemask, and she said she'd give me a free massage if I made enough for her whole family plus extras for the wash. Deal!
We continued to talk all through the massage. She really worked on my back to get rid of the stabbing pains. She found lots of tight spots. Afterward, I paid her and drank a can of coconut water. She walked me to the door and unlocked it so I could get out.
I drove to the Asian store down the street for coconuts. The Asians were wearing facemasks. The guy ahead of me in line said it worried him, but I thought they were being smart. I paid for the coconuts and went home. Passing the dollar store, I stopped in to see if they had green shirts. I ending up getting a disposable pan and hair elastic. Then man in front of me was buying milk and eggs.
Then I went back to post, and tried to go in Gate 10 to check the mail at the post office, but it was closed. I turned around and went in Gate 8, which Chris told me was now going to be open 24/7. Why? There's nowhere to go. All evening activities have been canceled.
Anyway, I went in Gate 8 and went around my elbow to get to the post office. There was a box and I waited for the previous customer to finish before I could pick it up. Then I took it home. Chris was still om his laptop. I took my mid-afternoon supplement and checked e-mail. I listened to a podcast. I heated some soup for supper, and ate seed crackers. I searched for some junk mail cardboard to cut out a pattern, but could not find any since I had recycled it all. Using just paper, I cut out a mask. I started sewing it together. Just before the step with elastic, I heard the skype sound.
It was my tapping buddy. I stopped what I was doing and got situated in front of the laptop. I activated Skype, and soon we were talking. We talked for an hour before we got around to tapping on worry. It was almost another hour until we finished the call. Not long after it started, Stacey dropped by with a tupperware container that I had given her. She wanted to walk, but I was busy. As she left, a guy walked up and wanted to know if he could mow my back yard. I told him I mowed it yesterday. Then I went back to Nell.
After the call, I made my usual vitamin drink and sat down with Chris to watch a Netflix DVD. It was a movie called 40 days and 40 nights. It wasn't a bad movie, but it was explicit. Still, there was no violence, so it was more conducive to sleeping than the Umbrella Academy.
Chris went to bed and I stayed up to blog and stuff.

A good day for swarming

I got up at 8. Chris had gone to work. I started with bromelain, then brushed and swished twice. I thought I had plenty of time for rounds of supplements. But after making coffee and doing my exercises, I got a call from Dr. Lee asking me to come in early to help him write a letter, and then he was going to shut down until further notice.
So I rushed through my meditation morning. I gave a quick wipe to one bathroom, then took a shower and got dressed. My hair was still wet when I left the house at noon.
When I got to the Korean clinic, only Dr. Lee was there. He wanted me to write a note to his landlord asking for his rent to be forgiven until the shop can open again. I called Chris to ask for advice. Then I sat at the laptop and composed a letter. Dr. Lee liked it, so he 'sent' it. Then he asked me about the address he sent his house payment to. It was the wrong one, but when I called the company, they did not want to take any calls that were not related to the coronavirus. So I wrote another letter, explaining what address he sent the payment to, etc. This was handwritten and he put it in an envelop. I figured I was done, but then he showed me an e-mail from the tax office saying he needed to pay sales taxes for 2019. I could not remember how we did that before, so I had to look it up. Then, when we found the right site, etc, it would only let us pay by the month. So I started with December and went back. But it only went to April, so I could not do the first three months. I wrote a response to the e-mail saying we did what we could. Then, I was ready to leave, thinking if the store was closed, I was off the hook. But as I left (with two boxes of onion juice) he said he'd see me next week. Sigh.
When I got home, the sun was shining brightly. So I prepared breakfast and ate it sitting in the back yard. Then I pulled out my book and continued reading. After an hour or more, I heard Chris on the phone coming around to the gate. When he came inside, he asked me to check him for termites. He said they were swarming by the front door so he came around back. I did not see any on him. He checked the plants for sunburn, then went inside. I went inside as well. I texted our neighbors so they would know about the termites. Then Chris got a call from Housing. He told the man that treatment was not enough and that the whole structure needed to be checked. I did not get the feeling that they were going to do much of that.
Instead of going for a walk, I mowed the lawn. Then I plugged the battery in to recharge. Chris was talking to Michele about shows we might like on Netflix. I ate a packet of salmon, then some seed crackers and the last marinated artichoke heart. Chris hung up with Michele when his parents called to check on us, both because of the virus and because of the heavy rainstorm. Then I sat down at my laptop and watched the Lenten service that our church posted. They had spliced in sections from last week when we actually had people in the pews. The splicing was fine, but you could tell that part of the service was recorded at night and part was recorded during the day. I had some music so I sang along.
Chris made a bowl of popcorn, preparing to watch a movie on his laptop. I felt a little left out. When I asked, he said I wouldn't like the movie. So I read e-mail and listened to part of a podcast while I printed a pattern for a facemask. When Chris was done, I made my evening drink. We sat together and watched two episodes of The Umbrella Academy. The level of violence made me think it was not a good choice for watching right before bed time. Then Chris went to bed and I stayed up to blog and take supplements, etc.
* The termites were coming out of the soffit. *

When it rains, it pours

I woke up early, hearing the rain pounding on the roof. Chris was already up. I went back to sleep, then heard my alarm go off at 7:30. I did not feel like getting up, partly because of the rain. But around 8 my cortisol level rose so I made an attempt and succeeded. That is when Chris' group call started, so I had to be quiet. I looked out the back door to see a flooded yard. Then I noticed that the back porch was flooded up to the door. I put a rug in front of it just in case. The front porch was fine, probably because the yard slopes to the street.
I started the supplements, then brushed and swished. I checked e-mail. I looked for a dishwasher detergent that doesn't leave residue on dishes. I read an article about states are handing their health care power to an unelected group that advises the CDC on which vaccines should be mandatory. I whipped up a batch of seed crackers. I swept the kitchen floor. At 11 Chris took his shower while I jotted notes for my blog. I continued my search for detergent, looking for reviews on Amazon, but the products I was interested in did not have reviews. I checked Dr. Bronner's site. And the internet went out.
With no internet, Chris could not sign in to his group calls. I played my trombone at full volume, trying to get ready for Easter. Then I made and ate breakfast. The internet came back on. I looked at dishwasher detergents and decided on the one from Honest Company. But then I couldn't find it for sale on their website or on Amazon. So I went back to research others. This time I chose a detergent called Nice!. I hoped to order it from Amazon, but it seemed only to be sold at Walgreens. William called me. He said that Theresa was back as Dad's caregiver. We are all glad about that.
It was almost 2, so it was time to go to the church. I poured some fire cider in a jar for Jennifer and also some fermented banana in another jar. I drove to church. I put a jar of peanutbutter in the food pantry. I entered offering data into the computer. There wasn't much because people are still mailing their offerings. I printed the reports, and shredded some old papers. Then I put the jars in Jennifer's office.
The sun was shining as I drove to the bank. I couldn't see a CLOSED sign, so I parked and walked up to the door. Still no sign, so I walked through the outer doors. On the inner door was a sign saying this location was closed and giving the addresses of the other three locations – none of which were convenient. I called Chris to look up the addresses and tell me where they were. I chose the one just past Jo-Anns. I was not in a good mood. Again, I had to walk up to the doors to find out that the lobby was closed, but the drive-thru was open. When I drove through, I could not reach the shuttle without opening my door. I didn't want to touch the cash, but I had to take it out of the blue bag to put in the shuttle. The lady processed the deposit and sent the ticket back. I thanked her and drove off.
To improve my mood, I stopped at Jo-Anns. There was a sign on the door urging customers to stay 6 feet away from each other. I looked around, and decided to get a roll of gold trim. There wasn't anything else that interested me, so I paid for it and went home.
The sun wasn't sure if it wanted to shine or not. So I went for a walk without waiting to see if anyone was available to go along. I went up the hill to the back of the neighborhood and looked for budding flowers. I did not find any, so I went back home. I read e-mail for a bit, then had supper. I finished off the corned beef and then had some of the pico de gallo that Chris made. I topped it with sprouts. Then I ate a can of mushroom soup.
I put on the latest episode of TQS. While it played, I looked at the shuttle blocks and wished for more space fabric. Then I saw that there were pieces of space fabric in with the rocket. I played with arrangements to find something that wouldn't looked pieced. As the show was finishing, Chris came in to watch TV. He pulled up Call the Midwife while I prepared my vitamin drink. I had soaked chia seeds in water, so I just added the vitamins to that. By the time I got back to the living room, Chris found out that there were no episodes left. So we ended up trying The Umbrella Academy instead. It seems interesting, but might get too violent. Chris went to bed and I stayed up for the usual reasons.
* On the lower right, you can see the water level is only an inch from the bottom of the door. *

'Togetherness' was better today

I got up when I heard the 8:30 alarm. Chris was already 'at work' in the dining room. I started the daily supplement regimen. I brushed and swished. I soaked the sprouts and burped the fermenting bananas. I checked e-mail and listened to a podcast. I saw that Aloma sent me a video of a famous actor reading the book of Mark. I played it, but because it was two hours long, I did a few other things as well.
Chris took his lunch break at 11:30. But it wasn't food he was interested in – if you get my drift. Afterward, I took my shower and somehow got water all over the floor. I pinned up the curtain so the hem would dry and set the fan on. I meant to go back to mop up the water after I got dressed. But I forgot.
Instead, I made and ate breakfast. I finished listening to the reading of the book of Mark. It was interesting the way he read it, unlike I have ever heard it read before. I contacted Lars to see about doing the offering tomorrow. He said we are going to keep the same schedule as much as possible. Chris had a work call to listen to, so I made my call from the guest room.
I watered the aloe plant. I looked up the RS-4i on Ebay and there was one for sale. It was just the unit itself. I sent a message to the seller, and he said to offer $10 and he would accept it. So I did. I paid with Paypal and it should arrive next week. It might not work out, but its a whole lot better than buying a new one for $1200.
When Chris finished his call, I tapped with an audio from Gene which covered many aspects of Covid-19 life. I also texted with Beverly, and then practiced my trombone. I called Stacey to see if she wanted to go for a walk. It had been raining most of the day, but the rain had let up now. She said yes, so I met her outside and we chatted as we walked around the circle. We went around 4 times, mostly talking about our husbands. Afterward, I replanted the peony into the largest pot I had. It needed more dirt so I got some from small pots with dead plants in them. When I went in, I had some corned beef for supper. I resisted the urge to eat all that was left, and I made a big salad instead, using up all the greens from last week. I ate as I moved various files of podcast notes to a single folder. I called Dad, but talked to Faye because Dad was busy. Then I made vitamin water and watched two episodes of Call the Midwife with Chris. He went to bed pretty quickly afterward. I took some supplements and sat down to write my blog post.

Too much togetherness

I got up around 8:20. I took the first round of supplements, then brushed and swished. I put together six more rounds for the days to come. Chris got up and turned on the router.
I watched our pastor on Youtube, giving the sermon. His wife and the choir director were there singing, and Cherry was playing hymns on the piano. During the prayer, Chris started shaving. So when the service was over, I asked him not to do that. It seemed to make him angry. After that, I watched a bit of the Wednesday night service. Then Chris asked me when I wanted to go to the grocery store. I said I didn't have a preference, but he hates indecision and we got into a fight. I got dressed and we went. He wanted to continue our discussion in the car but I said I didn't want to be upset in the store. My runny nose might be misinterpreted.
We got most of what we wanted. All the eggs were gone. I had to settle for the last can of coconut cream because all the coconut milk was gone. The arugula was gone as well, so I chose other greens. And I got mushrooms.
Faye called while we were checking out. I talked to her all the way home. Her church was online this morning as well. I washed the groceries while Chris put them away. Then I finished my supplement protocol and ended with breakfast.
Chris asked to see my mold test results. I showed him the mycotoxin test from a urine sample, and I showed him the report from the agar dishes. The first test showed that my ochratoxin A levels were twice the upper limit of what the lab normally finds. He looked up some mouse studies and said that a toxic dose was 3 orders of magnitude higher so I shouldn't be worried. We got into another fight. He looked up some of the molds found in the agar plates. I can't remember what he said about them, but he decided it was very unlikely that they were giving me a problem.
It was a lovely sunny day so I called Stacey to see if she wanted to walk. She needed 20 minutes, so I sat in the backyard and read. Then as I was about to leave, Tim called to see if we needed anything. After hanging up, I went to her house. She and I walked around the circle several times, and then over behind Housing to see the irises blooming. We also went to see the peony plant sending up shoots. On the way back, we met a retired couple trimming their bushes. We stopped to talk to them.
When we got back, Stacey wanted to borrow a hand sander so I took her into the garage and we rooted through boxes, but only found a sanding block. She accepted that.
I took the mid-afternoon supplement. I put on an audio and did some cutting and sewing to make the peacock panel into a quilt top. Chris cooked me mushrooms for supper and he heated up the corned beef for both of us. I wanted to make a salad as well, but I was too full. I finished my sewing and pressing.
Chris finished his game and started making some drink in the kitchen. So I put away my sewing project, and made vitamin water with extra vitamin C. Then I practiced the Easter hymns on my trombone. Who knows, I might be playing for a service on Youtube. We watched two episodes of Call the Midwife, then Chris went to bed. I stayed up to blog and stretch and check on the fermenting bananas.

More than one way to make a face mask

I don't remember when I got up, but it was after the first alarm. While Chris read his e-mail, I looked at the fabric lying on my table and wondered what to do with it. Then I remembered that I was trying to order something last night. I got on my laptop to look it up and got caught up in reading articles about the coronavirus.
I showered and put on orange pants and shirt. Orange is the color of creativity and I was hoping it would help with quilting ideas. I also put vodka on my head and covered it with a shower cap. Maybe if I do it often enough, the itching will go away permanently.
Reading e-mail, I saw that one of my groups wants to make facemasks for the local hospital. So I started looking at videos on sewing facemasks. One used a tissue, rubber bands, and staples. I broached the idea to Chris, but he thought handmade face masks too ineffective.
I made and ate breakfast. Since my group was getting more and more excited about making facemasks, I looked for my large roll of elastic to donate to the cause. Two ladies had requests already from medical staff. But, though I looked high and low in my sewing room, the guest room, and the garage, the location of the elastic remained a mystery.
I practiced the Easter songs on my trombone, showing faith that this will be over by then. I sat outside and read, although it was a little chilly out, and no sun, only an overcast sky threatening rain. When I came in, I continued looking for the best price on supplement, something I didn't finish last night.
Finally, I put on my warmest coat and checked the mail, then went for a walk. I went behind Housing to check on the irises. There were a few white ones in bloom. As I was heading back, I ran into Stacey, whom I had texted about walking an hour ago. We went around the circle several times. She told me they had gone to the church today to tape the service for tomorrow. The service would be on Facebook or Youtube, and the church would be closed by counsel of the bishop.
Finally we ended up at my house. I showed her how the peony plants were shooting up, and we looked in the kitchen window to see the large aloe. Then she went home for supper. I swallowed supplements, then ate today's handful of nuts. For supper, I ate some corned beef, then made a big salad, using up most of the greens left. I read some articles on 5G and the coronavirus while I ate. Then I made a batch of bananas to ferment. I cut up the peels and put them in a bucket to leach nutrients into the water.
We watched two episodes of Call the Midwife. Then Chris and I dressed the bed with freshly washed sheets. Chris went to bed with a book, and I stayed up to blog and do all the before-bed stuff.
* Everyone has their own idea of the best way to make a face mask. *

Another rainy day

I got up when I heard the 8:30 alarm go off. Chris was already up. I got up feeling odd. I brushed and swished. I checked e-mail and finished an interview from yesterday. I ironed the peacock panel and laid it on a blue and green background. I looked at peacock panels online to find out what it looked like before it became my project. I found it and then looked at panel borders to get an idea of how to finish it.
Chris wanted to get potatoes and cabbage for the corned beef. I went shopping with Chris to get a shower cap. We stopped at the bank for cash. The teller told me that today was the last day that the lobby would be open. Starting tomorrow, only the drive-thru would be available. We proceeded to Publix for necessities and came home.
Chris readied the corned beef and accouterments in the oven while I chose some gold fabrics to match the peacock and practiced my trombone. I made breakfast while he worked on his laptop on the dining room table. I did not have my supplements to go with breakfast because I had run out. He made his lunch while I ate my breakfast.
When Chris was not making or taking work-related phone calls, I listened to an interview on hormones and sleep (progesterone). I went to the post office, but didn't find anything. I looked at infrared light bulbs on Amazon. I called about the sequential stimulator but was told it was past its useful life and that I could buy a new one for $1200 with a doctor's prescription. I decided not to.
I made up a new batch of supplements for the next 14 days. I also made a week's worth of practitioner supplements. Chris pulled the corned beef out of the oven and checked the carrots and potatoes to see if they were done. I put some in a bowl and ate it at my laptop. Later I made a big salad. I ate while looking for the best price to re-order supplements.
At 7 I moved my laptop into the guest room. I tapped with Nell for the frustration of being home-bound with my husband 24/7. Afterward, Chris and I watched two episodes of Call the Midwife. Then Chris went to bed while I stayed up to blog and get ready for bed.
* It was hard to match the colors because today was another rainy day and the light was bad. *

Visiting a friend

It was a rough night. I don't know what the problem was. M neck hurt and I couldn't get comfortable. I got up about 3 and took more magnesium then went back to bed. I slept late, then ruminated until almost 9.
I took my first supplement, then brushed and swished. I sent Sherry a text about the essential oil and we agreed to meet at noon. I read e-mail and listened to the next episode in the oral health summit. I also texted with Myra. Around 11:25, I practiced my trombone by playing the soprano, tenor and bass lines of the two pieces Jennifer gave me. Then I put $15 in an envelop. I unwrapped the essential oils and put mine away, then rewrapped the other one. I walked to the RV park to see Sherry and give her the oil and her change. I stayed to see her wee sewing room and two little dogs. Then I walked home, timing it at 20 minutes, and getting sprinkled with rain at the end.
I prepared breakfast. I ate it while listening to an audio on the coronavirus. I called Michele, and we had a nice chat. For once she didn't seem to be in a hurry to get me off the phone. I found a message from Stacey, so I replied. Then, since the rain quit, I sat in the back yard and read the book Sherry loaned me. It was a James Patterson book. I sat with my bare feet in the grass and read numerous chapters.
Finally I decided to come in. When I stood up, the 5pm retreat sounded. Chris was home. He said his office would only have one person on duty for the foreseeable future and they were all taking turns. He said he signed up for Wednesdays. So he'll start working from home tomorrow. Lovely.
I read Stacey's latest message and replied, then put on shorts and different shoes. I brought the weed whacker from the back. I carried it out the front door and set it down while I checked the poinsettia for moisture. Then Stacey came over. We walked to her house and put the whacker on her front porch. Then we walked at least three times around the circle, chatting all the way and much closer than 6 feet. She said I could set up a sewing machine in her spare bedroom and work there if I needed space from Chris. Then she went in her house and I came home.
I listened to interviews from the sleep summit. I made big salad and also had a piece of pork with kimchi. After eating, I microwaved a sock of rice and laid it on my neck while I relaxed on the couch. I stayed there until Chris was ready to watch TV. Then I took some magnesium and water mixed with the PM vitamin packet. We watched two episodes of Call the Midwife. Then he went to bed, without making a sandwich, and I stayed up to blog, wondering how this working-at-home arrangement will play out.

Social distancing takes a beating

I got up about 8. I started taking supplements and forgot to brush and swish. Chris had left the bread machine out, so I loaded it with ingredients and started it. I also made coffee. I did my special exercises and rebounded, then came the drybrushing.
After three rounds of meditation and tapping, I started cleaning. I put on the oral health summit. I brushed and swished. William called, twice, just to talk. I took a shower, then laid down on the special heating pad with a rolled up towel under my neck. My neck was sounding crunchy and I hoped it would help. But there wasn't much time for lying down. I got up and had a quick bite before I had to leave.
I was not early when I got to the Korean clinic. I showed her a picture of my new aloe plant and she said something I interpreted as “I'll take it if you ever don't want it.” He had a bunch of mail to show me and one by one, we decided each thing was undeserving of attention. Except for the delinquent tax slip, but the person who handles that is off for two weeks.
Then she showed me her phone. She had an app that showed two of her credit cards and the balance they carried. It took me a few minutes to figure out that she had a third card and wanted it to show on the same page. However, I could not find a 'add card' button. I called the number on the back of the card. It took some time before I got a representative. She said I needed to talk to a technical person. That was another long wait. Finally he came on the line and asked security questions and account questions. He said her information did not match her account and we were locked out. That made no sense to me since the card had her name on it. He said we'd have to call back, which meant another half hour wait. Finally, I got him to say that signing into her app under the business account might solve the problem. I hung up with him and tried her phone, but wasn't sure she knew how to sign in again, and I didn't want to stop her from accessing the two cards that were there.
As a reward, she said she'd fix my neck. I was asked to lie on a table. He rubbed the liver spot on each foot. The right one really hurt, but after a while, the pain subsided. Then he put needles in my feet and hands. They hurt going in, but not afterward. Then he stuck a needle in my temple. It hurt going in and continued, so I told him to take it out. She brought out a heat lamp for my feet. She said the needles were promoting circulation. I laid there for a few minutes, but my back began to hurt. I had to bend my knees and she tried to straighten them. So I insisted on getting up. She took the needles out and I stood up. She had me sit in a chair while she taped the back of my neck. Then she had me do arm swings while pressing a spot right in front of each shoulder. Sadly, I was feeling worse when I left.
When I got home, I checked the mail and found a package with a different address on it. I put Chris' mail at his laptop. I brought him my glasses and he was able to put the screw back in. I noticed the grass was dry, so I mowed the lawn: longitudinally and laterally. Then I made and ate breakfast, plus an apple. I walked down the street to deliver the package. The four kids from next door were playing on the sidewalk and one of them opened her arms to me. Social distancing be darned. I patted her on the back and continued on my way.
I called Stacey to see if she was going to the Wednesday evening service. She was going with her husband and they said I could come along. So I walked over at 6:15 and caught a ride. We talked about social distancing and the virus. We arrived at church early. I spoke to Ron at length. He said the measures we are taking are a bit extreme, but it is necessary to convince people that this is real and should be taken seriously.
I went in the sanctuary and found two bottles of essential oil at my seat. I pulled out cash and walked over to Jennifer with it. Then I sat down and counted people as they walked in. We had about 20. They were sitting where they usually sit. The president of the council gave opening remarks, adding that we should sit one family per pew, and skipping a pew between us. Nobody reseated themselves.
We had the usual singing, and Rich read a narrative he wrote about changing situations. After the service, I talked to Bill and then hung around to see how the video came out. The service was recorded for our Facebook page (which I found out later we don't have - yet) Stacey passed out cookies to whomever wanted one. I asked Tim if I should collect the offering and he took it to the office safe. I followed the Feigs out to their car. On the way home, I told them about a situation at church that I did not know what to do about. He said he'd look it up in the by-laws.
They dropped me off at my house. It was 8pm and Chris wasn't finished with his game yet. I played the trombone pieces Jennifer put in my mailbox yesterday. They were surprisingly taxing, though I don't know why. I made my evening drink. Chris finished his game and we watched two episodes of Call the Midwife. Then he made a sandwich with the fresh loaf of bread, and went to bed. I stayed up to blog and take supplements, and do the exercises that Dr. Grace gave me.
* I didn't take any pics today, so here is one of something odd I saw at Publix on Sunday. *

The sun shines

I got up about 8. I started my supplement regimen. I brushed and swished. I rinsed my sprouts, then turned on the router and looked at e-mail. I finished listening to the oral heath summit from yesterday. While listening, I finished a couple quilt blocks and laid them all on the floor to see. I took a few pictures, both with and without the mistaken ones. After practicing my trombone, I made and ate breakfast.
I noticed the rain had stopped and the sun was finally out. I sat out on the chaise for awhile, knowing it was time to head for church, but enjoying the feel of sun on my skin. I had already finished my book so I just sat there and relaxed.
It was almost 2 when I left for the church. I stopped at a dollar store where I had gotten a green shirt. But they did not have any now. I proceeded to the church. I put two cans of lima beans on the food pantry shelf. I got the data sheet and money from the safe. I entered the data and corrected some problems from last year. I texted Elaine, but she didn't want to come. Then I took the money to the bank, then went home.
Chris came home after I did. I was going for a walk, then remembered my book. I went to the library. I put my book in the drop box but the library was closed. No new books for me. When I got home, I checked the mail, then went for a walk. I saw kids on the playground even though Housing said all public areas, including the playgrounds, were closed. It seemed like an unkind thing to do when all the schools were closed.
I texted Stacey to see if she wanted to go fot a walk. I mowed part of lawn, but it did not do well because the grass was still wet. However, there are so few times when mowing is possible.
For supper, I made a big salad, then ate some pork and kimchi. Chris picked an aloe branch for me and I opened it and scraped the gel off. Some I ate and some I kept for tomorrow. I ate a bowl of blueberries while listening to part of the next episode of the oral health summit.
Chris sat in the couch and pulled up Netflix while I made my magnesium water. We watched two episodes of Call the Midwife. Then Chris made his sandwich for tomorrow and went to bed. I stayed up to blog and take supplements.
* The rain will be back. *

Guarding my teeth

I got up at 8:30. I took bromelain, which meant breakfast would be delayed an hour. I rinsed the assorted sprouts. I brushed and swished. I took 'push' supplements, read e-mail, then took the 'catch' supplements. I read more e-mail and listened to interviews. I tried to order a supplement, but was told my card was refused. I tried to call the cc company, but a robotic voice told me they had higher than normal call volume and hung up on me. Kurt wanted me to create a meme for him, so I did. But I don't think he posted it anywhere.
I had a late breakfast. I opened the dental guard kit and read the instructions several time. I looked it up on Amazon and read the reviews. Finally I boiled some water, softened the guard, and molded it to my teeth. But I don't think I got it hot enough, because my teeth did not go far in.
I practiced my trombone. Then I was going to mow, but the grass was wet. Sigh. I put on an interview and sewed some blocks, ironed them and pressed them.
Chris came home. He got his work e-mail back, but there were no job offers. I went for a walk and picked some weeds for supper. I checked the house mail, but there wasn't anything there. I sewed the rest of the blocks, then pressed them and trimmed them. When I counted them, there were not enough to keep a set for me and share with all the ladies in the Monday group. One fabric had run out so I tried to piece some smaller pieces into larger pieces.
For supper, I ate some celery with hummus on it. I heated the coconut curry soup. Then I put a hand blender in the pot and pureed it. The larger chunks of cauliflower did not get caught. I tasted it, but it wasn't that good. A little pepper helped. Also, adding some of Jennifer's soup helped. In the end, I finished the soup and washed the dishes. I did not wash the pot that Chris burned rice in. I figured he could do that.
I called Faye, and when she didn't answer, I called Dad. He seemed ok except that he couldn't understand a word I said. Then Faye came on the line and we had a nice chat. She handed Dad a small electric keyboard and he played two melodies on it. Sadly his gym in on restricted entrance, so he won't get as much exercise for awhile.
I listened to the opening of episode 5 of the oral health summit. Then Chris left his laptop and I prepared my magnesium and vitamin water. We watched two episodes of Call the Midwife. Such heart-wrenching episodes! Chris made his sandwich and went to bed. I stayed up to blog and re-do my dental guard.
* I didn't take any pics today, so here is the meme Kurt asked for. *

Aloe there!

I went to bed last night but I could not sleep. I thought the trouble was my back. But in the wee hours I realized it was RLS. I had taken a tablespoon of magnesium citrate before bed and that should have been plenty. But I didn't know what else to do. So I got up and took some magnesium bisglycinate. When I laid down again, my legs were more comfortable and eventually I slept.
I awoke Sunday morning with no desire to get up. I was tired and it was raining hard. Part of me hoped church would be canceled – as some other churches were. But I got up at 8, showered and got dressed in pants. I played my trombone, and checked a bit of e-mail, then ducked out into the rain.
I drove to church thinking it was a miserable day. I left my umbrella at the front door of the church. Passing through the foyer, I saw the bulletins set out where each person could pick up their own. When I got to my pew, there was a jar of soup from Jennifer. But choir was starting, even though there were only 5 of us. I grabbed my music and put on my glasses. But walking to the front, one lens fell out because the screw was missing. Jennifer lent me her glasses. We sang through two pieces. Jennifer said I did well, singing harmony when everyone else was singing melody. Then others helped me look for the screw. It was not to be found.
Our interim pastor was there, but a lady bishop from the synod was there to give the sermon. The offering plates were on small tables by the communion rail so people could drop in their contribution on the way to communion. Also, we were instructed not to shake hands, but to share the peace by voice and body language. We had at least two people from churches that were closed, but it was still low attendance. The president of the council said that for now, services were still in order, including the Wednesday night ones.
After the service, I picked up the plates and took the money to the safe. Lars showed me where he keeps the brown envelopes. Although the bishop was staying to talk to the congregation in the fellowship hall, I felt a tickle in my throat and decided not to stay. I took my umbrella and went home. I was not sure I should go to the grocery store, but didn't think Chris could get what I wanted if alternate choices needed to be made. So I changed shoes and we went together.
The store had plenty of most foods. But not so much oatmeal. We got bananas and corned beef, and greens. I wanted an aloe branch but they were gone. I did not get pico de gallo because it goes bad so quickly. We checked out and went home. Chris put up the refrigerated items while I washed the cans and packages. He put pork in the oven and eggs on to boil. Then I made and ate breakfast.
I put on a podcast and did some sewing. My neighbor came over with cans and bags of beans that she didn't want. I asked if she had any extra aloe plants because the one she gave me died of neglect. (I didn't mention that part.) She said she had plenty and a big one that she didn't know what to do with because she wanted the pot for something else. I was happy to have it and immediately emptied a pot to receive it. I told her she was the best neighbor in the world.
About half an hour later, I invited her to go for a walk. And so we did, for about 30 minutes. When we got back, we talked in the driveway for awhile. Then we parted. I asked Chris about the conditions an aloe needs and he said indoors with sun. So I cleared a spot for it in the kitchen window. Then I went back to my podcast and did more sewing. I took a break when I heard Chris in the kitchen checking on the pork. There was a pot of rice as well. I had some of both, and poured some of Jennifer's coconut curry soup over it. It was delicious! I also had some of Chris' coconut curry soup and added hot water to it to warm it up a little. I was going to eat the last egg, but when I peeled it, it was bad.
I went back to sewing. Sometime after 8 Chris left his laptop and brushed his teeth. I took it as a sign that we were about to watch TV. I made some magnesium and vitamin water. I sipped it as we watched two episodes of Call the Midwife. Then he made his lunch and went to bed. I stayed up to blog.

Making a meme

Chris got up early, probably 4, and woke up Herberth. I went back to sleep. I woke up when Chris came back to bed after taking him to the airport. I went back to sleep. Later, I woke up and laid awake, listening for the alarm. When I didn't hear it, I got up and checked: it was 10am.
I brushed and swished. The bathroom smelled a lot like Herberth's cologne. I tidied up a bit. Chris got up. I washed dishes and the wine glasses that the guys used yesterday. I poured boiling water over the next batch of nuts. Then I used that water to sanitize my sprouter. I put in a tbl of seeds and covered them with filtered water. Chris stripped the bed to wash the linens. I filled a spray bottle with water, vinegar, and essential oils. I sprayed the mattress and put the fan on low to dry it out.
Then I checked e-mail. Local schools are closed until April 6th. So a number of my quilting groups are canceling all their activities for that time also. I practiced my trombone while Chris was in the shower. I took supplements on schedule. I couldn't find the pic I wanted for my PI day meme, so I chose something else round and added words, then published it to my Facebook page.
At 12:20 I took a break from e-mail to make and eat breakfast. I listened to a long podcast 10 minutes at a time. I finished sewing some blocks and cut more pieces. I called Dad and he seemed to be doing well. I tried to mow the yard, but the battery was low, so I didn't get far. I wrenched my shoulder bringing the battery inside to recharge. I searched the house looking for the charger, and finally found it plugged in outside. I asked Chris to move it back out for me. Then I took a walk around the circle. I went back to my laptop, but when the sun brightened, I went outside to read. It was lovely then.
When I came in, I made a big salad with whatever greens were leftover. After that, I had a bowl of cold soup.
I sprinkled baking soda on the mattress. I put on another audio and started sewing pieces together. Then Chris asked me about watching TV. I didn't realize it was that time. So I made my magnesium drink and we sat down to watch one episode of Call the Midwife. There were some really sorrowful cases on there. When it was over, I looked for the right implement to vacuum the baking soda, but could not find it. So I hoisted the vacuum onto the bed and did about a third. Chris called me down and showed me a box in the closet which should have had vacuum parts in it. But when he got it down, it did not. Thankfully he finished sweeping up the baking soda and then we dressed the bed.
He went to bed while I stayed up to blog. I sent pics to the old laptop in case I could upload them from there. But then Blogger got its' act together, and I was able to post this pic. Then I got ready for bed.

Now it works, now it doesn't

I woke up before the alarm. I really wanted more sleep so I tapped. But I did not fall asleep again until after the alarm. I had three dreams, then woke up at 8:20. I got up to start my supplements with bromelain.
I brushed and swished. I played Disney songs on my trombone. I found a text from my massage therapist saying that she had an opening at 2. I washed up and got dressed. I cleaned the hall bathtub and put stuff away in preparation for Herberth's arrival. I took more supplements. I washed the dishes in the sink. I opened the Swansons package that Chris brought yesterday. I read e-mail, and gmail.
I called Chris to see how late he would be returning from Tuscaloosa this evening. I turned the wifi signal off. I listened to part of a meditation. Then Chris called back. He said he was taking the afternoon off to pick up Herberth and would stop by the house. I made breakfast so I would be out of his way for lunch. He arrived just as I finished making it, and with packages from the post office. He said he already had lunch. He called John and made plans to meet and pick up Herberth in Birmingham. Then he headed out.
I ate breakfast, and look for a pic to create a PI day meme that I came up with. I was surprised how hard it was to find the right picture. At 1:45, I headed out to Ruth's Nutrition. Gabriele had not arrived yet. I sat and looked at whatever was around – like books and products. When she arrived, we both went to the massage room. We talked as she dressed the bed with sheets. Then she left so I could get dressed. When she came back, I was lying face down and she rubbed my back, arms, legs, and feet. Then I rolled over for the thighs and neck. She also put on gloves and gave me a dental massage. I got very relaxed.
After the massage, I got dressed and pulled the sheets off the bed. I went to her office to pay. Then I headed home while she got ready for the next person. At home, I took my mid-afternoon supplements. Having discovered mosquito bites on my hand, I poured out most of the bucket of banana water on the plants, then covered the bucket. I hadn't meant to breed mosquitoes.
I read e-mail and listened to the first episode of the oral health summit. I tried using Blogger on the old laptop and it worked. So I tried it on my new laptop and it worked. I concluded that Blogger solved the issue with loading pics.
Chris came home with Herberth. I paused the episode to have a friendly chat. When I got a text from Stacey saying she wasn't available, I went for a walk by myself. When I got back, I read e-mail until Herberth took a shower and he and Chris went out to eat pizza. I made myself a salad and watched the rest of the episode. I continued to search for the proper pic for PI day. At 8 episode 2 started playing. I got up for a bowl of soup. It was good cold. The ginger had mellowed.
Herberth and Chris came home, having had pizza and beer, and having met up with a friend from Honduras. Herberth soon retired for the evening. Chris and I watched one episode of Call the Midwife. I took supplements and wrote my blog post while Chris did something on his laptop and then went to bed. He is getting up at 4 to take Herberth to the airport.
* Still can't load a pic. Why it worked this afternoon, I will never know. *

The tooth of the matter

I woke up early again. It was annoying. I tried to go back to sleep. Eventually the alarm rang and I got up. I brushed and swished. I tried to choose fabrics for a block. I called the dentist office and they said come at 9:20. I washed up and got dressed. I took two astaxanthin, and packed some packets of liposomal vit C and glutathione. I went to the dentist. I read a page or two of my book and then was called back. The assistant put me in the chair and got the x-ray machine ready. I swallowed one vit C and the glutathione. After she x-rayed the tooth in question, I took the other packet of C. Then she got an oral camera and took pictures of the tooth. She left for a few minutes and when she came back, she said the dentist looked at the x-rays and the pictures and there was no crack. She put the pictures on the screen where I could see them. There was no crack showing, but then we could not see the sides of the tooth that were facing other teeth. She told me to baby the tooth for awhile and put something between my teeth when reading or focusing hard on a task so I won't clench.  She agreed that she was 100% sure there was no crack, but my intuition tells me there is.
When I got home, I drank the protein mix, put castor oil on my tooth, checked e-mail for 23 minutes, then made the colostrum mixture and ate it. I read e-mail for another 25 minutes, then made and ate breakfast. I was already dressed and my machine was already in the car, so I headed out to quilting.
There was plenty of space in the quilting group. I showed off the flyers from the modern quilt guild, but I don't think anyone was interested. I got out the fabric I had chosen and starting cutting pieces. I talked to Carol and Christy until Christy had to leave. Then we all packed up and put away the group stuff.
When I got home, I texted Stacey to see if she wanted to go walking. I read e-mail until she texted back. I said I'd be outside waiting. So I went out and planted the irises and daffodils that we'd dug up. I still didn't see her so I went back inside and called. We agreed to walk. I went outside and pulled weeds until she came over. Then we walked three times around the circle while talking.
After walking, I went inside and decided to have a snack, but it turned into a meal. I listened to an interview on 5G and the corona virus while lying on the couch. Chris came home with a package from Swanson. I tried to sleep when the interview ended, but it didn't work. I played my trombone briefly. Chris made coconut curry soup from a recipe that I forwarded him. I cut more pieces, then started sewing blocks. I made 5 blocks in 25 minutes. The soup was ready so I ate a bowl. The grated ginger was too strong. Also, I had lost track of the time. 7Pm came before I finished. I called my tapping buddy and we talked while I finished the soup. After we shared our respective week, we tapped for her early memory. It seemed to go quite well. After we hung up, Chris and I watched one episode of Call the Midwife. For some reason, the little laptop started a reboot right in the middle of the show. So Chris hooked up a different laptop and we finished the story. Then Chris finished up whatever he was doing before the show and went to bed. I stayed up to blog and take supplements.

Not again!

I got up before the alarm went off. I took a supplement and went back to bed. Before long, I was up again. The fog outside was so thick that there was nothing beyond the fence around our back yard. It was kind of surreal. I swished with sesame oil, then brushed and swished with my usual mixtures. I did my special exercises. I got a funny feeling in one tooth like it was cracked. It was right in front of the crown that the dentist ground down. I was very upset, first angry, then sad, and afraid for the rest of my teeth. I did a little meditation and a lot of tapping. I was in no fit state to see the dentist. I cleaned the bathrooms, and the kitchen. I mopped the kitchen floor. Then I took a shower and poured vinegar on my head, hoping to stop the itch. I put on the fan to dry the bathroom and got dressed. Then I made and ate breakfast.
At 2, I went to the Korean clinic. He said he had something simple, and handed me a letter from the IRS. Ha! I had to call and cancel her health insurance from last year because this year she has Medicaid. It was more complicated than it sounds because there was an addition part about prescription insurance that incurred a penalty if she didn't get it now.
It rained hard. He brought me a detox foot bath. The left foot got really dark but the right one hardly had any color at all. She showed me pictures of the house they are selling. He had done a great job on the floors, but not updated the bathrooms. When I was ready to leave, she gave me my plant to bring home and he gave me a box of onion juice.
I checked e-mail, and then William called from a thrift store. The sun was shining by then, so I went for a walk. I did not see any new daffodils. I made a salad for supper. I got an e-mail from the church that an entry from September was missing. I researched it and concluded that I wrote the wrong envelop number on it.
By then it was 6:30. I hurried off to church. The pastor asked me if there was any news on Chris' job search. I had to tell him that because someone had released confidential info, the e-mail at work had been shut down. So, there could be a job offer, but since Chris can't get to his work e-mail, he may never know about it.
We had a nice church service. Much of it was sung and it was pretty. Then we had choir practice. Jennifer gave me a blossom from her lemon plant. It smelled so good! After practice, I admitted to Jennifer that I was losing my ability to sing. My brain could not make sense of the notes from the piano. I could hear them but I couldn't match them.
When I got home, Chris was watching Michele play a game online. I made vitamin water. Then we watched one episode of Call the Midwife. Chris went to bed while I gathered the energy to rouse myself from the couch. I took supplements and ordered more. Then I wrote my blog post, and got ready for bed.
* Blogger would not let me load a pic tonight. Maybe tomorrow it will be back to normal. *

Styrofoam pin cushion?

I got up at 7:30 to start taking supplements. I brushed and swished. I turned on the router and checked e-mail. I pulled some blue fabrics, looking to create a set of 4. I got dressed. I took the protein mix, then headed to quilting.
Anita was teaching an ornament class when I arrived. I sat between Beverly and Jodi. I picked up a kit and they caught me up on the process. It used a lot of pins and I thought if I ever need pins, I will know where to look. I had done such an ornament once before, but it was good to have a refresher. Beverly had the same kit as I did, but hers came out a little differently.
At 11:30 I said my goodbyes and went home. Chris was already there, but he left soon after I arrived. I resumed my supplement schedule and worked my way to breakfast. I read e-mail and listened to something. I practiced my trombone. I texted Elaine and she said she wasn't coming. Then I drove to the church to enter the offering into the computer. I did the Wednesday night and Sunday morning services. Then I changed the previous Wednesday offering to General Fund. When finished, I put the computer to sleep, then started shredding old offering envelops. The treasurer came in so we had a conversation. Then the council president stopped by. More chatting. After they left, I finished shredding the bag of envelopes. Then I went in the sanctuary and made sure there were pew envelopes for Don.
I went to the bank to deposit the checks and cash, then went home. Chris was home from work. I went for a walk. When I got back, I checked the mail. I handed half of it to Chris. There was a St. Patrick's card from MaryAnn. I read e-mail, then made a big salad for supper. I listened to an audio while I ate.
At 6:30 or so, I left for church. I was thankful that it wasn't raining. The stewardship committee met in the Garden Room. We had 8 people show up. And it was lively. Charlie thinks we should make recommendations to the council about how to spend money. Someone had written a list. We discussed the benevolence fund.
When it was over, I drove home. As I pulled up to the gate, the car ahead had all the doors and the trunk open. A man held the leash of a dog that was sniffing the interior. Thankfully when it was my turn, all the guard did was check my ID and let me through. I stopped at the gas station to fill my tank. Finally I arrived home. I took my 8pm supplements even though it was later. Chris played the Netflix movie, which starred Michael Caine and Morgan Freeman in Going In Style. Afterward, I wrote my blog post while listening to an interview on Neurosculpting. Now its time for bed, but my body thinks its too early.

The battle of the crowns

I woke up early and went back to bed. Chris got up and went to work. My 7:30 alarm woke me and I stayed in bed just a little longer. However, then the 8:30 alarm went off. So clearly some time warp was in effect.
I took supplements, and read a book. I called the dentist office and they said to come in at 11:15. I brushed and swished. I tried to listen to an audio while measuring ingredients for a loaf of bread. I washed the dishes in the sink and wiped up any spilled flour. I checked e-mail again for a few minutes, then headed out to the dentist.
I was not surprised that I had to wait even though I got there on time. But in 15 minutes I was taken to a room and given a warm neck pillow. The assistant had me bite down on blue paper. The other dentist came in to check it out, and grind away at the high spot. We repeated the process 4 times. Finally she said I should give it some time and call if it did not get more comfortable. The high spot was gone, and now the back tooth was connecting to its upper twin. While it felt odd, I thought I could get used to it. The battle of the crowns was over.
I left the dentist at noon. I drove to the church for quilting. They were just singing Happy Birthday to the ladies of the month. I set up in the back and caught up on the news. I presented the ladies with the announcements from the modern quilt guild about the Sew-Signment sale. Joan took a pic of one. Then I resumed sewing the strips of squares and talking to Lauri. The others were trading blocks for the quilt-as-you-go class. I heard that one lady had surgery and so was not going to be able to participate. I decided to check into making a set of blocks for next week to fill the gap.
At 3 I packed up. I took the midafternoon supplements and went home. I was going to see if Stacey wanted to walk, but I could see she had company. So I made and ate breakfast. I had some seed crackers with pico de gallo, and then hummus. But there was a spot of mold growing in it. I couldn't understand how it went bad so quickly. I just made it on Saturday and kept it in the fridge.
Chris came home, with new credit cards. He called the company to find out what the deal was. At first I wanted to listen in, but when he started shouting at the phone, I went for a walk. I carried my trowel and a plastic bag. I dug up three irises from around a tree. It was an hour later when I got home. Chris told me to get rid of the card I just memorized. Sigh. He called the credit card company again, and the new rep said keep the card I memorized and destroy the newest one since it has the old number. There was more shouting. Sigh. I took over the call and made certain all was well and that the proper people would be notified to insure this would not happen to anyone else.
I played scales and such on my trombone until my lip was done. I listened to interviews from the Non-toxic Beauty summit. I don't remember signing up for it, but there aren't any others going on this week. I made a large salad and put an egg on top. I made notes on charity blocks dimensions and fabrics needed to make 20 blocks.
We watched two episodes of Call the Midwife. There were so many scenes worth crying over that I wondered if the writers were doing it intentionally. I took my supplements and wrote my blog post while Chris finished up at his laptop. Then we both got ready for bed.
* This is what I made today, a 10 by 14 which used up most of the blocks. *

A trove of daffodils

I woke up early. I heard Herberth get into the shower. There was a lot of coughing. I began to wonder if he had the coronavirus, being from another country and having ridden on a plane. The shower was long and we got up to start the day. I took supplements and brushed and swished. Herberth came out dressed and greeted me, but I couldn't talk because my mouth was full of swish. I ironed and trimmed the 11 blocks I made yesterday. Then Chris took his shower. I practiced my trombone. He got dressed and they left for chapel. I took my shower, got dressed, combed my hair and went to my church.
The choir was assembled when I got there. We sang through the song, but I did not have the right pitches. We altos were supposed to sing with the tenors, and it was enough to throw me off. So after the warm-up was over, I went to the Garden Room where there was another piano and I went over the tenor part again and again. Then I returned to the sanctuary to sit with Don until the service began.
The sermon today was about the apostle's creed as explained in Luther's small catechism. I walked Don to the communion rail afterward, and he was unsteady. So when the service was over, I suggested we go for a walk to get some exercise. And we did. It was a short walk because his caregiver was already there to take him home. But she would have waited. Then I went back into the church to make sure the offering was put up. And I went home.
I changed clothes when I got home. Chris and Herberth were ready to shop, but I took a few minutes to eat some seed crackers and nuts. Then we went to Publix for groceries and beer for Herberth. When we got home again, Chris put the food away while I made and ate breakfast. He and Herberth left for Tuscaloosa, and I went back to the hotel for charity sewing.
It was a bright sunny day. I got to sit by the window again. Fewer ladies were there, but we got a lot done. I turned in the 11 blocks. Trina gave me a bag of squares in rows of 8. I made a quilt top out of most of them, and handed it in. Then I started sewing the leftover strips. Kerry wanted to leave by 5, so I started packing up at 4:30 (though my watch said 3:30). I put my stuff in the car, plus a box of books that Carol was supposed to take. Then I helped Kerry load bins of fabric into her car. This time it was daylight when I left, and I had no trouble finding my way out of the parking lot and back to base. I went through Gate 9 which was faster than going through Gate 8, even with the doubling back that is necessary.
When I got home, I texted Stacey about going for a walk. I got everything ready, then sat in the back yard and read a book. It was heavenly! When I got her text, I put up the book and went to her house. She and I walked up the hill in the back and searched for wild daffodils. Stacey found a whole new place full of them in the woods. We went across the street and dug up some, then carried them back to my house. We talked to Chris and he showed her a picture of his costume. Then she and I went for one more walk around the circle.
After she went home, I ate some ox-tail for supper and made a big salad. I read e-mail until Chris was ready. Then we watched two episodes of Call the Midwife. They were very moving, as usual. He went to bed and I stayed up to blog.

All this and a time change too

I got up to stop the hot flashes. But I went back to bed to cuddle with Chris. I got up after the alarm went off to brush and swish. I practiced my trombone. I listened to episodes of Regenerate Yourself while ironing fabric and cutting it into 27”, 9” and 2” strips for pillowcases. I took supplements on schedule. Then I made a batch of hummus. The hardest part was stirring the tahini. Isn't there one that doesn't separate?
I made and ate breakfast, still listening to audios. I took a walk around the circle. I packed a bag with seed crackers and hummus and a banana. I also made two bottles of vitamin water. I double checked the route, then drove to the hotel where the modern quilt guild is having a sewing weekend. I timed the trip at 20 minutes.
I parked across the street and went inside the hotel to find the room where the sewing was taking place. The ladies found me a place to set up in a corner. I went out to my car, and drove it into the hotel parking lot which turned out to be a one-way deal. I rolled my sewing machine inside the sliding door and set up in a corner. I talked to Kerry about what to work on and she gave me some space blocks to do. I turned in all the strips I had cut. As I worked on the blocks, I talked to Denisa. She is a doctor of anesthesia. We talked about vaccination and the coronavirus. When I finished the blocks, Kerry gave me sashing to sew them together, so I did. Mostly. There was one block missing.
Sherri asked me to order some oregano oil for her, so I texted Jennifer. It was too late to get in on her March order. So she made a special order and I ordered a blend for myself.
Then Kerry gave me a rectangle with a name on it to sew onto a pillowcase. When I finished, she gave me another set of blocks, of the same pattern. I took a break to eat my snack and take some supplements. Then I made 11 blocks, still one missing.
Since I planned to come back tomorrow, I did not pack up. I just took my purse and the 11 blocks that needed trimming. I walked out to the parking lot, noting that it looked different in the dark. I wondered if I would have trouble finding my way home. I did have trouble finding my way out of the parking area. And then I wasn't sure where I was, but I did eventually find University Dr, and took Sparkman to Patton and was on the Arsenal in 20 minutes.
Chris was on his laptop. He had made ox-tail and sweet potatoes and rice. I helped myself to a bowl of rice and meat. I reviewed the guest room and concluded that Chris did a good job of getting it ready with clean sheets and such. I checked e-mail until Chris was ready. Then he and I watched one episode of Call the Midwife. While he prepared to go to the airport to pick up Herberth, I moved my essentials from the hall bath to the master bathroom. Then I sat down to write my blog post so I could be in bed before they got back. I didn't want to be antisocial, but in the past Chris has gone to bed leaving me to entertain a talkative guest. I am sure I will see Herberth in the morning.
* This is the first set of blocks I worked on. *

Making mixes and batches of supplements

I woke up early and tapped for a good day. I got up at 8. I brushed and swished. I straightened the guest room a little, then turned on the router. I listened to a tapping audio. I lit the mold candle and put it in the corner of the tub where the black stuff is. I revised my supplement sheet to incorporate the new AM and PM multivitamin. I listened to another tapping audio, and started the process of downloading content from the Tapping World Summit. For some reason it was extremely slow. I decided I needed to get glasses with a longer focal length so I could sit back from the computer.
I drank a protein mix, and later a packet of vitamin C. I watched another EMF video. I made up a week's worth of practitioner-recommended supplements and two weeks of mine. I reduced what I usually take because of what's in the new multi (which tasted awfully salty). I made and ate breakfast while listening to QnA from the supplement summit. I ordered more supplements. I cleared some clutter from the hall bathroom.
It was sunny so I went for a walk. It was also windy. I hunted for wild daffodils as I went. When I got back, I remembered that there was a church yard sale today. So I went to the yard sale. I wandered around and found a wrap skirt that I can use the fabric from. Afterward, I stopped at a drug store and chose a pair of glasses. When I got home, the candle was out and Chris was home early. He said something about a computer breach at work and so he spent most of the day shredding paper.
I took my book and read outside until I got cold. I came in, and read e-mail until Chris left. The new glasses were not as helpful as I had hoped. I made a large salad, and called Michele. We had a nice chat. She had high praise for Chris' costume.
I hardboiled eggs, and ate one but it was bad. I made more spice mix. Then I watched three episodes of Royal Pains, and made more green mix. I pulled the first package of meat I found out of the freezer and left it in the fridge to thaw. I sat down to write my blog post and Chris came back from gaming. He didn't have much to say about it. I asked about his interview earlier today and he said it went fine.
* These are pieces Mom had in with the hexagons for the baby ball. I laid them out yesterday to see if they would fit together like a ball. *

Note to self, the new crown is hitting the old crown and I am afraid that crown will crack. Also, I keep biting my cheek because the high spot keeps my back teeth apart.
