Wednesday
I woke up at 4am and couldn't go back to sleep. I stayed in bed trying until the phone rang between 7:30 and 8. I didn't catch it in time, but it was Michele, so I called her back. John was with her and we had a nice chat about them moving here. Perfect Christmas present for me. Then the nieces and nephews called them for opening presents so they hung up.
I took my morning supplements, then started cleaning in the kitchen. I was kind of waiting for Michelle to contact me about when to come over. I washed up all the stuff I used yesterday. I put some rescued shower curtains through the wash. I put away fabric from several projects ago. And lace and ribbon. I vacuumed floors and watered the plants. I texted Michelle and she said they were all sick. So then I considered the ramifications of accepting one of the other offers. I settled on the Popkins. Then Michelle texted me about going to the sauna this afternoon. I questioned her fitness for that and she said she'd get back to me.
I checked e-mail. The online practitioner had questions for me to answer. On Christmas Day! Geez. I answered what I could. I made fiber gel and ingested it. Then texts came in. Finally I made breakfast and ate it. That included the last two hardboiled eggs. So I put a bunch of eggs in the steamer. I made a tiny pinhole in each one as Keli instructed. I meant to leave a few unpricked so I could test the Negg, which came in yesterday.
Michelle accepted my offer of vitamin C. So I showered and dressed. I put the eggs in an ice bath. I went to her house. They all looked sick. We reviewed the directions: 1 gram of C every 6 minutes until symptoms resolve. I gave her the Christmas crackers with their names on them. She gave me a box with a egg steamer chicken in it.
Faye called as I walked away. I put her on speakerphone so I could talk while driving. She was putting cow tongue in the instapot and didn't know how to use it. I looked up the directions and read them to her. She got it going. We continued to talk. Then I got text messages so I had to go. It was Michelle working on the C protocol.
I finished a game of Sudoku. I peeled 4 eggs with the Negg. I was not impressed. I called the Popkens to see if now was a good time to come over and they said it was. So I got in the car and drove over there. It was difficult to find parking but I didn't mind walking a bit.
Their house was very nice. She has an eye for decorating. The kids visited with me until they all went upstairs to see a movie. Then we adults conversed. She checked on the special soup until it was ready. I can't remember what she called it. It sounded Mexican.
Finally around 8 we sat down to eat. The kids came down. She handed out bowls of soup and there was a plate of chopped veggies as a topping. It was really good. I had two bowls of soup. William called and I talked to him before finishing the second bowl.
There was more conversation as we listened to Christmas music playing in the background. She walked me out to my car. Taps began to play so we stood and faced the music. (I forgot to mention that the kids all got recorders for Christmas and they think I will teach them to play. I'd better figure it out soon. Also the little girl drew a bunch of pictures for me. So cute!)
Then I sat in the car while the windshield defrosted a bit, then slowly drove home. I covered the windshield for tomorrow. I read some messages and worked on my blog. Michelle started texting me. She followed the C protocol and her symptoms are mostly gone (but she was tied to the bathroom for awhile).
After posting to my blog, I got ready for bed. I fell asleep sooner than I expected and did not wake at 4.
