Rum Raisin ice cream

Sunday

I got up at 8, not having slept well at all. Between RLS that wouldn't quit and the howling of the wind (still going at 8am), I spent a lot of time trying to get to sleep. I got up to start my day with amended water. I worked on clearing e-mail.

I listened to several podcasts. I tried to make cheese from coconut cream but it didn't work. I let it cool, then put a probiotic in it to ferment. I made and ate breakfast, then got dressed for church.

I took cheese squares to church. I assembled my trombone. I played through When the Saints with Keli. I gave the bag of left behind stuff to Janet and she picked a few things. I gave the rest to Anca, but the only thing she wanted turned out to be 11 years expired.

Then the band gathered up front. Keli announced how the palm procession would go. We played When The Saints Go Marching In while the people processed in with the plastic palm fronds. Afterward, we sang our three praise songs. Then the chaplain talked about palm fronds and Holy week. After that, the band played our two hymns.

After the service, Keli approached me about picking hymns she knew for Easter. I was surprised that she didn't know what I consider the good ole hymns. Anyway, we decided on He Arose and The Old Rugged Cross for next week. Then I offered the last item from the bag to Saronna and she agreed to try it. I talked to Rick at length about having a pixie as an aid.

On the way home, I stopped at the swap shop to see the fan that Keli had asked about. But it was labeled “Property of swap shop”. When I got home, I changed clothes. I got the Easter music ready for band tomorrow. Chris started making rum raisin ice cream. I texted Keli to say that she could have one of my fans.

I sat outside and read a book. Keli and her husband came by to pick up the wheelbarrow and the fan. We chatted a bit before they left. I went back to reading, then came in as the temp dropped.

John and Michele came over for rum raisin ice cream. John peeled my hard boiled eggs and put them in the pickling brine. They stayed to play a side game of DND that Chris thought up since James and Becca were busy. We played as our animal companions and helped a little girl find her cat. I also watered all the plants.

After they left, I made tea. Chris and I watched the first part of the second case of Above Suspicion. Then I worked on my blog.
