Mother's Day brunch

Sunday

I got up before 8. I brushed my teeth and took supplements. I took a biffido probiotic to avoid lactobacillis triggering leaky gut symptoms. I whipped up a batch of cheese squares. However, instead of grabbing the turmeric, I grabbed the homemade spice mix. I also forgot the parmesan cheese. Chris had already put it in the oven by the time I remembered. But I took it out, spread the grated cheese on top, and threw it back in the oven.

I read e-mail for awhile. John texted that he and Michele were coming over to cook us brunch at 10:30. So I got dressed and sat outside and read for 45 minutes. Then I came in. I ate the cheese crusts. I read more e-mail. I played through our morning song. Then I sat at the piano and played old tunes. John and Michele came over. He asked if I had veggies. I went out to cut some onion tops and radish leaves. John made me an omelet. I ate and played. He made one for Chris as well.

At 12:15, I got dressed for church. At 12:30 I took my trombone and the new cheese squares and headed to the chapel. Keli was practicing the praise songs. When she was done, the band gathered up front. Saronna gave her rendition of things she says when getting the kids ready to go to church. It was very amusing. Then we played Get Me To The Church On Time. The amended lyrics were on the screen and Jenni sang. People clapped when we were done.

We came down, and then we all sang the praise songs. The chaplain showed some video clips for Mother's Day. He gave his sermon. Then he had two boys come up front and get roses to hand out to the ladies of the church. He also had two boxes of chocolate-covered strawberries. He gave one to the oldest mother (Keli) and one to the youngest mother (Laura).

We went home. John washed the dishes. Chris and Michele went for beer. I changed my clothes. J and M went home. Chris followed them to help them reassemble a desk that was given to them by someone who was moving. I read e-mail. I went by Housing to water the plants but I didn't see any there. I stopped at their house to drop off a sprinkler head and I closed their garage.

I went home to have supper and start the game. Jamie came over to get the riding mower. Sadly the battery was dead, so they went home for a jump pack. We left the mower out for them. The game started and we began to play.

We were attacked and we fought them off. Then we saw a noble woman and her retinue being evicted from her house. We offered her lodging in return for answering questions about the town. The next day, we spoke to an old farmer about the publican who had foreclosed on the noble woman.

When we were done, the mower was gone. We chatted about the game. Then we looked for screws for the desk and located some that would work. I worked on my blog. I put stuff in the bread maker and started it. I made tea and we watched one episode of Longmire. Chris went to bed, but I stayed up to read and to make a Swansons order.
