Thursday
I woke up early and got up before the alarm at 7:30. I had slept well. I put out the recycling and went through my morning list. I watered all the plants, and let the sprinkler run for awhile.
At 9, I went to Steve's apartment and put vinegar-soaked paper towels on his toilet ring. Then I went up on the hill and cleaned house for 2 hours, mainly on the stove. Was this guy making beeswax candles? Only a metal scraper would get the little yellow bumps off.
When I got home, I ate fiber gel, then read a book in the sun. I made and ate breakfast while watching The Highwire. They were broadcasting from Italy and the quality of video was not so good. I steamed a batch of eggs.
Afterward, I stopped at the post office for mail and at Self-Help for a sprinkler head that works. Then I cleaned house for another 2 hours, finishing the fridge and some windows. I put a tarp over rocks in front to kill the weeds but the wind kept blowing under the tarp which kept it from building up heat.
I stopped by the garden to change out sprinkler heads. It didn't seem to be adjustable so I took care to position it for best coverage. I watered some spots by hand.
When I got home, I ate fiber gel and put supper in the toaster oven. I mowed the back yard. I ate supper and the dregs of some random ice cream I found in the deep freeze. Then I mowed in the front yard. Chaplain came over to get a hose. We talked. After he left, I mowed some more.
I went in to read e-mail. Chris called. Afterward, I read messages and watched a video on making laundry soap. When I heard the irrigation system come on, I went out to check and the in-ground sprinklers seemed to be working properly. Then I worked on my blog.
I heated tea and watched an episode of Call the Midwife. Later I got ready for bed.
