From Corporal to Sargeant

Thursday

I got up at 7:30 having slept remarkably well, best sleep in a long time. I queued up the hearing with RFK Jr and the Ways and Means Committee. While listening, I did the usual first morning stuff. Then I packed yogurt and small cups in the bag with my Bible.

I went to the chapel for Bible Study. Only Diane showed up and her husband said Popken was getting promoted today at 9:30. So she made a sign canceling Bible Study and I taped it to the door. I went home to put the yogurt back. I watered the plants and got a warmer coat.

I went to the auditorium for Popken's promotion ceremony. Chris wasn't there because he was attending the Council of Indian Nations. I stayed to talk to now-Sgt Popken and Diane and her husband.

Then I went to the chapel. I pulled out fabric for tote bags. I cut out the pieces I needed. I cleaned up a little. I put a garbage bag in the kitchen garbage can. I took the pieces home to sew.

I ate fiber gel. It was too windy and cold to read outside, so I read inside. I sewed the first seam on the outer fabric and the lining. Then I made breakfast and watched The Highwire. I read some more from the book with an ice pack under my arm. I finished the bags and took pics to post with the class announcement. I posted for class and for Math Morning.

I basted the hems in the pants from last night. I hand-stitched the hems while listening to a podcast. I heated supper in the toaster oven. I started taking the basting out when Chris came home with a pizza. I continued listening to the very long podcast. I made tea and we watched Criminal Minds. I read more e-mail, resting my arm on an ice pack, then went to bed.
