Monday
I got up before 8, but it was after 8 till I got to the kitchen. I started the morning list. I paused it to crunch up the peach leaves and measure out 5 grams. The readings on the scale kept changing so it's anybody's guess if I got the right amount. Anyway, I blended it with the rest and put it all in a labeled bag. I put seeds in the sprouter to soak. I'll be having some of the last batch this afternoon.
Then I checked Facebook to see if they were still having the walk at the pavilion. No notice of cancellation. I drove to the gym and saw only a few cars there. I also drove past the CDC. Nope. Since there were raindrops on my windshield, I figured it must be canceled. I stopped at the post office, then went home.
There were milk and eggs on my front porch. I brought them in and poured half of the milk in the pot to heat. I used the new stirrer. I took all my ferments from the fridge and put some of each in a bowl and the rest in a large jar. I left a little in the bottom of each jar to start the next ferment. I ate what was in the bowl. I washed jars and put them in the oven to sterilize. I poured the hot milk into a half gallon jar and heated the other half of the milk. Then the stirring wand needed recharging so I had to stir by hand.
I went to the library to pick up the 3-D printed fibonacci cone. She didn't want money for it, but I insisted because Chris would want it that way. We chatted a bit and I went home, in the rain.
The milk had cooled so I added it to the almost empty jars. I filled a few more jars and put other probiotics in them, most of those went into the dehydrator to keep warm and ferment. I read my book, then made and ate breakfast. I put the figs in the oven at 200 to kill any yeast or bacteria. I read e-mail and watered the plants.
I read more from the book. I chose two hymns for Sunday. Chris came home from work, and I went to the chapel. Keli came, but late. We went through the hymns then played what we wanted because no one else came. We decided to play again tomorrow, just she and I. It's easy because I can stand behind her and play off of whatever music she has. And we both sight-read well.
I went home. I was reading online when Rod called. He wanted me to come over and talk about cleaning. So I headed that way and dropped off Michele's key. Then I went to Rod's place and he talked about how hard things are at work and he needs help cleaning. He also gave me a suitcase full of DVDs.
After an hour of standing and listening, I went home. We folded laundry then Chris talked about how hard it will be to retire. And then it was too late to watch TV. We put yogurts in the fridge, and figs in the dehydrator. I worked on my blog and then went to bed.
