I slept in after Chris left for work. When I got up, I drank lots of water with vitamin C. I checked e-mail and swished. I looked at houses for sale on Zillow – just in case. I rolled up a sheet of newsprint very tightly and used it like a curtain rod to hang a lace panel in the window. It looked pretty good, but the tape did not last throughout the day.
I went from room to room, filling out the very long and detailed 'condition of unit' form. The lamp I was using to check outlets got stuck in the outlet in kitchen. I used the coffee grinder after that. I put stars by the items that needed to be fixed.
I walked the form to the housing office. I showed it to Donya and she said she would submit work orders. I asked about touch-up paint. She said Self-Help would give me some. Then I walked back a different way, not sure it would work, but it did, though it took longer.
I made breakfast. I ate it outside, sitting in the backyard. I listened to an interview. I was sitting on the couch, when a man knocked on the door. His buddy wasn't far behind. They came to fix the things on the sheet. So I pointed to the issues. Most were easy fixes. They replaced the blinds, realigned the drawer to the stove, sprayed wd-40 into the lock, sprayed wasp spray into the light fixture, pushed harder on the smoke alarm than I did and pronounced it ok, tightened the outlet in the guest room. I also mentioned the sound of water in the bathroom. The older guy could not hear it. The younger guy said it was a sound toilets normally make due to the air trapped in the porcelain passageway. I could not make sense of that, but accepted that there was no leak and I had done my due diligence to report it.
I went back to the interview. I was able to listen while making up 10 days worth of supplements. I also read e-mail.
Chris came home from work and made a cup of lemon/citron drink. He changed his clothes. I went to the post office to check the mail and there was a package from Swansons. Why it did not come packaged with the rest of the order yesterday, I don't know. Then I stopped by the library to check out a book. Denise called me while I was driving, so when I got home, I called her back. But she did not answer.
Then I read the rest of the expose on private prisons: Deplorable conditions. Poorly paid, understaffed, negligent on medical care because it costs too much. And they don't want the inmates to reform and go free because then they don't get paid.
I asked Chris to get the weed eater out of the box. It was packed so tightly with other garage items that I couldn't get it out. While he ate supper, I untangled a long cord and plugged in the weed eater. I cut a swath of several feet across the whole near end of the yard. The grass was so thick I could not tell how deeply I had cut it. I decided that was enough for one day.
After watching a sewing video and part of another GMO video, I paused to help Chris unpack. We did several boxes. One held a broken piece of glass. We opened the guitar case and saw that one string had come loose or broken. Then we came to two shelving units, one sat on top of the other. So, we discussed it several ways, then rearranged the sewing room to accommodate it. I am still not sure how I will get my sewing desk in there.
Then Chris called it quits for the night. We sat on the couch and watched two episodes of SHIELD. Chris took some vitamin C and went to bed. I stayed up to blog and take my evening supplements. I should be getting better, but the congestion won't quit. Maybe I am not sick, just allergic to something.

Dining table is back together
I heard Chris getting ready for work. I got up to have some water and blow congestion from my sinuses. I drank some water and went back to bed, but not for long. I boiled water to disinfect my toothbrush. I found myself sucking on my teeth so I drank more water, with vitamin C. I found a long lace doily that I thought would cover the sidelight by the door. But it was out of shape. I went into the sewing room to iron it. But I could not find an available outlet. All were covered by shelving units. I had to drag the ironing board into the hallway. I dabbed some water on the wrinkled places and ironed it flat. Then I drank more water and deleted the first round of e-mail while listening to a video.
I boiled water for coffee and put on some meditation music. But instead of a quiet morning, there was lots of lawn mowing going on. At one point it sounded like it was in our back yard, but no.
When I finished, I cleaned one bathroom, and then three men knocked on the door to fix the window in the bedroom. I left them in there while I cleaned the kitchen, and emptied the dishwasher. They said the part they ordered was too small so they would have to order another one. If it was going to take a long time, they would take a part from an empty house. I told them they could take a part from one of the windows in this house that we were not going to put furniture in front of. He nodded, but then they left.
At one point, I heard sirens wailing. It took me 15 minutes to realize that it was the county tornado warning system. Probably more relevant to another part of the county. I went outside to water the mums and pull weeds. I put away towels from the dryer. Then I heard the giant voice say “Tornado warning. Take cover immediately.” A little alarmed, I did not know if I should close the windows or not. So I called Chris and he had no idea there was a warning. So all the sirens were just in the residential area? I waited for a few minutes and decided nothing was happening and went ahead with my day.
I decided to put Christmas fabric in the chifferobe in the garage. But when I opened the door, it came off the top hinge. I carefully shut it again, then went looking for a screwdriver. I had one with the sewing machine I bought weeks ago, but it was buried in the closet. I looked through Grandma's stuff but did not see one. I found one in the laundry room, but got side tracked doing something else. Then it occurred to me that the moving men were supposed to come this afternoon and assemble the dining room table. So they could do the chifferobe door as well.
I took the bowl of soaked cashews and sunflower seeds out of the fridge. I blended them in the Magic Bullet with fermented coconut milk. I left it out to ferment and scraped the leftovers from the blades.
The toilet handle fell off. There was nothing to hold it on. I went looking for a screw-in piece for the handle. What I found were shelf clips. I tried one in the living room, but it didn't fit the cabinet. I tried one from a different bag and that worked better. I did not see any like the shelving unit in the sewing room, though.
I ironed two shelf liners and put them in the china cabinet. I arranged glassware on them.
I measured lots of sides and heights of furniture pieces, trying to figure out how to arrange it to make the best use of space in the sewing room and guest room. (Bertha sure knew what she was doing when she lent me a yardstick.) I wasn't having a lot of luck. I started making breakfast. And that's when the moving men showed up to assemble the dining room table.
I sat down to jot notes for my blog. Chris came home from work. He had a sore throat. I showed him the door to the chifferobe and he said to tell the moving men. When they finished putting the table together, I showed them the door and they fixed it in two minutes. Then they piled all the wet empty boxes outside onto their truck and drove away. I waved from the garage.
Chris wanted to shop for Nyquil and Dayquil. So I put my shoes on and got in the car. We stopped at the post office first and got a package from Swanson. Then we went to the Asian store. There was one package of kimbap left, which I got. He asked for cough medicine and she pointed out the Korean equivalent. Then he asked for the honey/citron drink and she showed him where it was. He bought that instead. Then we went across the street to the WalMart neighborhood store. There he found Nyquil and Dayquil and a loaf of bread.
On the way back, we ate some of the kimbap. I finished the last few back at the house. He took the medicine. Then I finished making breakfast and ate that while reading e-mail. I decided not to go to choir practice because I could still be contagious. Then I got hung up reading an expose on private prisons. Chris broke the spell by turning on SHIELD. We watched two episodes. He put some shelf pins in a cabinet for me and went to bed. I took my evening supplements and posted to my blog.

Such interesting videos
I woke up about 6:25. Chris was gone. I poured a glass of water and mixed some magnesium ascorbate into it because the regular vitamin C was missing. I put sunflower seeds and cashews in a bowl of water to soak.
I started listening to the rest of the interviews on GMO's: The BT in BT corn is useless now because the insects have developed resistance. The crop seeds are soaked in neonicotinoids and then planted. The neonicotinoids, which are water soluble, are then taken up by every cell of the plant as it grows. They are systemic. Many commercial beekeepers started feeding their bees high fructose corn syrup so they could sell ALL the honey the bees produced. When the corn syrup was made from corn with neonicotinoids, the bees would start dying 23 weeks later. Honey bees are more efficient than other pollinators and are critical to the almond and berry crops. Farmers can't save GMO seeds from this year's crop for next year because of some enzyme that reduces their vitality. Neonicotinoids are the most used pesticides and have a long half life. The associate professor doing the research said there is no place free of neonicotinoids for us to compare their bees with ours. Since WW2,we have lost 50% of our bees. They could be replaced by Africanized Italian bees, but those are aggressive. There are some rumors of GMO bees being developed, that don't overwinter. You'd have to buy new ones every spring. Most neonicotinoids are produced by European countries. Europe has banned them for two years. But the U.S. Won't do the same.
I happened to look out the window. I saw two guys with a truck come and take some of our boxes. I hoped they would come back for the rest.
I watched another video on smart meters and what to do if you don't want one: Governments are just corporations. Notice of smart meter installation is like an offered contract. No response from you mean you accept. As in a contract, you can make a counter offer - “if you put a smart meter on my house, you agree to pay me. X a day.”
Write a registered letter to the president, ceo, city manager, accepting oath of office, informing them that your rights are being violated, notice of non-acceptance, lack of full disclosure. Write three letters: notice of liability, notice of fault, and notice of default. Then billing can start.
I went outside and rescued a few smaller boxes. Then it started to rain. I made seaweed soup with bone broth. Then I made and ate breakfast. I put away all the kitchen items that were washed and left out on the counters.
I moved two shelving units from the guest bedroom to the sewing room. One was missing a shelf. So I went into the garage to look for it. I opened a number of boxes, and shifted some around. I found lead figures. And a little bit of fabric. But mostly it was stuff I did not care to unpack. It was hot and humid, but we still had the AC off because the windows were open for fresh air.
I called my massage therapist to see if she still wanted me to come, given that I have been sick. She said yes, as long as I wasn't coughing and sneezing, or feverish. At 3 I took a shower and put on clean clothes. I jumped in the car and drove to the parkway. I was going to use it instead of the access road, but I followed the signs and it put me back on the access almost immediately.
When I got to the store where she rents a massage room, I walked around the store looking at all the supplements. It was a vast array. She called and said she would be late, so I sat down to wait. When she arrived, she had her daughter with her. But her daughter went in the office. Gabriele put clean sheets on the massage table and left me to get undressed and under the blanket. When she came back, she worked on my psoas and illiac. It was kind of painful but I was used to that from being in Korea. She also worked the knots out of my thighs and calves.
When it was over, she left me to get dressed. Then she came back and I paid her. We set up another appointment for next week.
Traffic was dense. I was able to get into line and drove down to Home Depot. I got another 4 mums, purple ones this time. Then I went home.
Chris was on his laptop. He jumped up to say he had roasted me some eggplant and cauliflower. So I ate most of what he hadn't already eaten. I caught up on the most recent e-mail. I watched some tapping videos.
Then we moved Grandma's sewing machine cabinet into the guest room. He found the missing shelf. We unpacked a box in the dining room. He told me the moving men were coming back tomorrow afternoon to set up the table in there. Then we spent about an hour unpacking boxes from the big closet in the living room. We found some sheets and did a load of laundry. Some items went to the donation box, and some went back in the boxed they came from. But we still amassed a pile of paper and boxes.
At 9 we watched one episode of SHIELD. Then Chris took out the garbage and went to bed. I tried to remember what all I did today so I could record it for you all to read.

Unpacking the sewing room
I woke up in the middle of the night, congested. I got up for water and went back to bed. I laid awake for awhile. I heard Reveille played at 6:30. It would have bothered me had I not been awake already. I think it woke Chris up. He boiled some water and made fresh ginger tea. I put some drops of peppermint oil on a tissue and sniffed that while Chris boiled more water. I put a towel in the sink with more peppermint oil. He poured boiling water on it and I made a tent with another towel to breathe in the steam. It did not last long because the sink stopper did not make a tight seal. I gargled with salt water. I took some vitamin C. I swished with coconut oil and mineral drops. I read e-mail while drinking more ginger tea. With a q-tip, I put hydrogen peroxide in my ears. There was quilting today, but I did not go.
Chris and I went in the sewing room and unpacked boxes and moved furniture and stuff around the room. When my back started to hurt, we took a break. I made breakfast and watched a video on smart meters. Then we did another round of boxes, finishing all the ones in the room and all the shelves, too.
While Chris took a break, I discovered that the piece that holds the legs on Grandma's sewing cabinet had been bent. Chris was able to fix it with a pipe wrench and a railroad spike (no hammer yet.)
Later we took a walk around the circle in our neighborhood. Chris watered the mums. I asked him to bend the circles back into place and he said he already did, but one broke off. I went looking for the large flower bowl for the fountain stand. I found a box in the garage with fabric piled over diry tools. I pulled the fabric out and shoved it in with the fabric on bookcases. A shoe horn would have come in handy. Then we ate some chicken for supper.
I sat outside and notice birds flying overhead, diving and swooping. Chris came out with cherries and watched them with me. He said they were catching insects.
After we came in, I read some e-mail. There was a surprise 10th episode of GMO's Revealed. I listened to the first interview segment. Chris pointed out the full moon (which would explain the howling I heard last night.) I wrote my phone number on a card for Chris to give to Rob to give to Carla. Then we watched two episodes of SHIELD. I fell asleep on the couch. Chris went to bed. I woke up on enough to post to my blog, and then I went to bed, too.

Suddenly sick
I woke up in the middle of the night. My throat hurt, so I drank some water and took some vitamin C. I also tapped for a while and went back to sleep.
When I woke up again, Chris was up. I took more vitamin C. I looked through my file of health notes for cold and flu treatments. I made and ate breakfast. I boiled my toothbrush and put hydrogen peroxide on it. I put hydrogen peroxide in my ears with a q-tip. I did not go to church so as not to infect anyone. I also did not go to quilting with Renegades for the same reason. Chris made me some lemon and honey tea, then went to the store for bananas and beer. He also bought me some ginger and boiled a knuckle of it to make ginger tea. I drank that and many glasses of water. But the soreness would not go away.
I read e-mail. I sent him an article on the Seralini study and we discussed it. I put a chair out in the grass. I sat in the sun and read a book for about 45 minutes.
At 3 he wanted to go to Rob's place for barbecued ribs. I hated to refuse their offer, but I was still sick. Chris told me that I didn't seem sick to me; no runny nose or coughing, etc. So I took a shower and we walked to their place.
When we got there, I met Rob and Carla. We had a nice chat. Then Carla cooked up zucchini and squash while Rob went outside to get the ribs. He had two slabs, one spicy and one not. He cut them up and put a dish of them on the table. Carla put the cooked veggies on the table and a big bowl of salad. She said a prayer and the meal began.
The food was delicious. I ate three ribs and had seconds on the veggies and salad. The guys drank a selection of beers. Rob and Chris did most of the talking. Rob talked about getting a projector so he could watch TV on the wall, magnified. The TV he had running was 70 inches. And in his bonus room were two smaller TVs. So I asked if we could borrow one until ours comes and he said yes.
After the meal, we retired to the living room again. The guys talked shop. Rob does math and manpower for the army (I think) and he offered to help Chris re-write his resume. They talked about BRAC and such. Carla and I discussed hot flashes.
It was after 9:30 when I nudged Chris to wrap it up. We said our good byes. Rob put the TV in his truck and drove us back to our place. He carried the TV in and set it on the coffee table since no better surfaces were available. We thanked him and he left. Then I took my evening supplements. Chris was tipsy and went to bed. I checked my e-mail and wrote up my blog post, all while drinking glasses of water, trying to keep hydrated in spite of the hot flashes.
And then I went to bed.

Another day of unpacking
I slept in. Each time I woke up, I felt too tired to get up. I think it was almost 10 when I did. I started my day by washing lots of cookware and dishes that we unpacked yesterday. Chris washed clothes and linens. I wrote a check. Taking it to the mail box, I ran into the web that the spider put back up. I guess it is an optimist.
I discovered that the mums fit perfectly in fountain frame and decided I should get more. I pulled some weeds in the front flower bed. This neighborhood is full of cookie cutter houses, with similar bushes planted in front of each one. I hardly see anyone out. It's unreal. I half expected some drone to come flying up and tell me to cease and desist.
We unpacked boxes in living room, and tried to decide how to arrange the furniture. Chris put the unpacked pillows in the dryer to freshen them. After hours of that, I needed a break. Chris said we did really well today, unpacking all the boxes in the living room. But from my perspective, all we did was eliminate the cardboard. The stuff still wasn't put away.
I rested, then ate some seed crackers. Then we went to Publix for groceries so we wouldn't have to go tomorrow. From there we went to the fish market for a bag of fish bones. The lady in charge remembered me quite well. She said long time no see.
When we got back, we put the groceries away. I took the pillows out of the dryer and put the next load of linens in. Chris put a chicken in a baking dish. We cut up garlic and onions to go with it. Then we took out a trash bag and filled it from a box of trash and put the chicken package in it and Chris took it out of the house.
There was enough trash to fill part of another bed. Chris cut up potatoes and egg plant and roasted them in the oven.
While it cooked, we read e-mail. The potatoes finished first. I ate my portion on the porch outside to cool off from hot flashes. It was nice out there and I could smell someone barbecuing.
I read e-mail until almost 8. Then the chicken was ready. We ate some chicken and we discussed the Seralini study. I looked at articles on the vaccination issue and shared one on my Facebook page. Another article talked about how some people who are against abortion don't realize that many vaccines are made from aborted fetal cells. And some people who are pro-choice on the abortion issue are in favor of mandatory (i.e. no choice) on the vaccine issue.
We watched two episodes of SHIELD. Chris went to bed. I took my evening supplements. I spotted a roach in the kitchen but could not track it down in time. I posted to my blog and went to bed.
* I took this pic today, but it would have gone better with yesterday's post. *

Twin cars
We got up at 4am. He took a shower but I just threw on some clothes and drank two cups of water. Leaving the house, I spied a very large web. So I hung back and warned Chris, but he didn't see it until he walked through it.
We got in the car and I drove to the airport. After dropping him off for his flight to Atlanta, I drove back to the base. Because it was so early, Gate 9 was the only one open. I found it ok, but then missed the u-turn. I took the next turn, but it was unfamiliar territory. I took a few other turns as well. I got lost driving unfamiliar roads in the dark and the rain. When I got anxious, I had a hot flash and the windshield fogged up. I said a prayer and suddenly found myself coming up to Patton road. From there I was able to find my way back to the house.
I went back to bed, but could not sleep with the wind howling outside. I tried for a long time, and might have dozed off.
I got up at 8. I wanted a coffee morning, but it wasn't that easy. There was no counter space in the kitchen because Chris unpacked things onto it. I swept the floor, and cleared some space. I put loaner dishes back in their box. I found a coffee pot and a tea kettle. I boiled water for coffee and tried to simmer it, but even on the lowest setting, the gas stove had it boiling. I swished while listening to the last part of Episode 9:
The doctor recommended doing a wild ferment outside, to get thousands of species of microbes. But you get more from breathing than from eating. He said to go outside and breathe bacteria from many different places. When you pull weeds, take a breath because it releases lots of soil microbes into the air.
I put on some meditation music, exercised, and drybrushed. The door bell rang. A man asked me if I owned a dog. He was looking for the owner of a loose dog. I wished him luck. I went back to my morning routine.
I was almost finished when I heard the door open. I was a little alarmed, but it turned out to be Chris. He was able to get his appointment early. It went quickly and he had no trouble driving his car back. He made himself coffee and I made breakfast. After I ate, we unpacked all the suitcases and boxes in the master bedroom. Then we started on the kitchen. A lot of it was decorative glassware. I would have wrapped each piece back up and put it back in the box. But Chris' idea was to unwrap each piece, and put the ones we didn't think we needed in another box, still unwrapped. We took a break for supper and e-mail, then did the last two boxes. We took another break for e-mail, and then watched an episode of SHIELD. We went to bed, but I got up later to post to my blog and take my evening supplements.
