Galentine's Party

Friday

I got up at 7:30. I got ready for the day. I practiced just a little bit. I put some more yogurt out to drain. I posted pictures of the swap shop.

At 9 I went to the chapel for Math Morning. I helped Moira with her math. Then she helped Jedediah count chairs. Randy sat with the kids and kept on Wilhelm. It went long so I called time at 10:15.

When I got home, I turned on the sauna. That gave me 10 minutes to prepare it and myself. I sat inside and steamed for 20 minutes. Then it shut off and I cleaned it out and took a shower.

I made breakfast and ate while reading online. Then we went to the commissary for groceries. We got everything on the list so we didn't go to town. Chris' game was canceled because some of the guys had Dad-duty so their wives could go to the Galentine's party.

While I was reading, Michelle called, saying she wanted to get into the Keetch room to set up her version of a charcuterie board – individual cups with a small bowl on top of each. It wouldn't be transportable so she wanted to assemble it on site. I borrowed a key and let her in. We chatted just a bit in the kitchen and then her husband shouted boo from the room. I about hit the ceiling. They laughed so hard. So after that I had to go home and change.

I worked on my charcuterie board, arranging the cheese hearts and seed crackers and 4 quartered pickled eggs. I mixed some yogurt with guacamole and a bit of mustard for a dipping sauce. I put it in the garage to keep cold.

I tried to take a nap, then ran out of time. I got dressed for the party. Michele called saying she wanted to go as well and wanted to be picked up. So Chris wrapped the food in plastic wrap and put it in my front seat. I went to Michele's house. She came out and needed the back of her dress hooked up. Then she sat in my front seat and held the food while I drove us to the ACS building.

We went in and she found a place for the platter. We mingled a little, then sat by Michelle. Then we all got up to get drinks. All they had were fru-fru drinks, so I got water from the tap. Michele said the tap water tastes bad, and it did, but at least it didn't have sugar in it. Numbers were placed on the charcuterie boards and we voted for our favorite. Then we loaded our plates and everybody ate.

Ria asked Michelle to link her phone to one of the TV screens for later. Michelle put up a pic of a bear with a heart. But later she loaded Karaoke songs and we sang. Ria had a speaker that played music and projected sparkles on the walls and ceiling. Michele and I danced to one of the songs. Michelle was given the award for best charcuterie even though her offering was in cups.

It was around 8:30 when Michele told me her back was bothering her and she needed to go home. So we took our platter and said goodbye and walked to the car. She got in and as I walked to my side, her neighbor shouted across the parking lot, offering to take Michele home. So Michele went home with her and I went home to change clothes and get ready for game night.

When I got to Michelle's house, I handed her a jar of thickened yogurt. I talked with the whole family. Casey put up the game. I played the bird path until there was no more I could do. Then I played the submarine path until I got stuck. By then it was 10:55, so I shut it down and said goodbye. When I got home, Chris was asleep. I got ready for bed and hit the hay.
