Terms and Conditions

I must be living right because it rained last night. It watered the grass seed and the newly planted kale. I got up at 8, read e-mail, and started an audio. I took it downstairs to listen while I ironed and sewed pieces on sri yantra. After an hour, I came up to exercise. I juiced cranberries and had to dilute it to drink it. I also juiced cucumber and green beans for later. I soaked some of the parts in hydrogen peroxide to get the film off. I fixed breakfast, and cleared e-mail, still listening to same audio. The sun looked so inviting, but the air temp was too cool to sunbath. Wearing a short sleeved shirt while I raked leaves under magnolia tree for an hour was the best I could do. The second audio ended under the tree. I finished that section of the yard and came in to find the next audio. After catching up on latest e-mail, I finished the e-book on healing teeth. I listened to an audio on meditation which appeared to be offered for download. I needed itunes so I tried to download it. I thought I had it, but took the free download just in case. That did not seem to be working so I gave up, and went down to sew with an audio. The battery ran down pretty quickly, so I had to come up to finish the audio. The itunes exe file had downloaded. I installed it. But still couldn't download the file. I kept starting the process over again, and Apple kept insisting that I do something related to my Apple ID. Finally I got to a screen where I had to check a box saying I read the terms and conditions. But that file was huge and not worded readably. Its hard to believe that ANYONE has read that file. I wrote to Apple about it. Chris came home and we ate supper and discussed Thanksgiving plans and Christmas plans and whether to sell the house in Pinehurst. He needed a little more time with his e-mail, so I went down to sew. He came down just as I realized that I had sewn two wrong pieces on sri yantra, because I had confused p with d. We watched several episodes of Forever Knight, courtesy of Netflix. I was so tired I went straight to bed.

Fish and kale

My day started early with e-mail. This weekend I decided that trying to get everything done first and then sew for the rest of the day wasn't working out. So the new plan was to sew for an hour first and then worry about getting things done (like e-mail). It didn't quite work the way I had in mind. I put a check in the mail, listened to an audio, drank dandelion root tea (yum), exercised and put laundry away. During the audio, I looked up ways to use food grade hydrogen peroxide, which came in the mail yesterday. (It's good for lots of things, but wouldn't help this fish.)   THEN, I put the fabric and tablecloths from Monday and Tuesday in the washer, and spent an hour sewing pieces on sri yantra. I juiced a bag of cranberries, drank that, then juiced beans and celery for later. I washed the juicer parts outside and noticed the sun. I put on my suit to lay in the sun for 20 minutes. The sun was fickle. I went back to e-mail, but it was after 12. You'd think I would be hungry for breakfast, but since going on a high fat diet, I have had no cravings, and don't care when I eat. I ate breakfast around 12:30. Usually I add psyllium husk fiber, but I read that it is not all its cracked up to bed. I pulled the fabric out of dryer, and left the tablecloths in for more drying. I listened to a tapping audio, and took my supplements. For my hour outside, I planted 7 ornamental kale plants, 4 inside the fence and 3 in the garden where the tomato plants died. I was watering them when my laptop battery ran down. Chris arrived, and cooked the snapper for supper. I went down to iron the fabric and patch my apron. When the fish was done, I came up for supper. There weren't that many bone in the fish, but there were scales to be picked out. I took the head, but could not eat the eyes, even knowing how nutritious they are. We decided to keep them for the stew. I made and ate a salad. I finished the audio I was listening to in the basement. Then I changed my shirt and went to choir practice. On the way home, I stopped at a drup store to print two pics from my camera. Chris was ready to watch TV when I got home. We did not have any Netflix or DVD's from the library, so we watched part of a VHS tape. It was too late to watch it all. Then he went to bed while I typed this post.

Fabric and cookies

I got up early again today. It was a good sign. I read e-mail, swished, and juiced kale, cranberries and a carrot. I was glad I left out the garlic. I showered, and ate breakfast. When I realized that Rebecca would be seeing inside the house, I cleaned up the bathroom and diningroom. Rebecca arrived before 9:30. It was then that I discovered a box on the porch – my latest supplement order. We went to Quilter's Combo because they were having a 35% off going out of business sale. I did not have anything in mind that I needed, so I went around pulling bolts that spoke to me. I left the batiks alone. After I paid for it, Mirna and I helped Rebecca choose fabrics for a quilt. Then I sat outside the door to wait for my friends to pay. It was almost noon before we left. Rebecca took me home, and came inside to give me advice on 'cookies'. I went to the thimble site and had no trouble ordering the thimble. I was surprised and sorry that she stayed for no reason. Then she tried to show me how to delete cookies on my laptop. But for some reason, the drop-down lists were different and we could not find the path to the process. We looked everywhere, and under 'help' for Firefox. Then she left. I ate fish and kimchi. I listened to an audio by a doctor that says 'fat is back'. He is not the first person to advocate a high fat diet. Rebecca called to say 'options' was under 'tools'. Her husband came on the phone to answer my questions about cookies. I ate salad. I started another audio and listened while I raked up leaves where the grass was dead in the front yard. The dead grass came up, too. Surprisingly, there was some left. I spread grass seed over it anyway, and spread hay. Chris came home just as I finished. He asked me to fix some stitching on his tie. I finished the audio and had fish and cod liver oil for supper. I looked for any procedures I may need to follow before I go see the doctor next week – for insurance purposes. At 7 we went down to watch the last two episodes of Inspector Linley. In the last episode he was arrested. Chris set out his clothes for tomorrow and showed me how to run the anti-virus software before he went to bed.

Thrifting AND quilting!

I got up pretty early, probably because of the time change. It was nice to get an early start to the day. I read e-mail, jumped on the rebounder, and listened to an audio. Then Maryann called to chat on Skype. Suddenly it wasn't so early any more. After the call, I made the colostr um mixture, but passed on juicing and went directly to breakfast. After eating, I dressed, threw some seaweed and spread in a bag, and grabbed my sewing box. I put in Christmas stocking project materials and scraps for a rug. I had no trouble getting to the church and bringing my machine inside. I cut out the parts for a stocking. Then we all ate lunch. There was beef stew and I had a bowl of that to go with what I brought. November birthdays were celebrated, and we were presented with cakes and candles and singing. Martha's husband brought a green tomato cake. That was tempting in its uniqueness. Instead of eating cake, I served it to others. After lunch, Mirna, Rebecca and I went to a second-hand store to see an old Singer machine in an old cabinet. As Mirna and Rebecca tinkered with it, I looked around for a transparency projector. I asked and there was one in the back. Score! I got a buggy for it. Rebecca decided to get the old Singer, and it was put on a dolly. We checked out the rest of the store since we were there. I bought a couple of table cloths. Rebecca brought her vehicle up to the door and we loaded our purchases. On the way back, I saw a sign for S & R Sewing. We stopped there to see what they were all about, and I bought some orange fabric. We got back to the church after 4. Many ladies were still there and we all would have gone on for some time, but the daylight faded and we had to leave. I got home after Chris. He brought in the projector for me. We ate supper, watched Forever Knight, and Inspector Linley, and went to bed.

They look good enough to eat

I did not sew last night, Instead I found myself looking through holistic dental websites for alternatives to root canals for infected teeth. Is there any other part of the body that could get infected and the dr. would recommend taking it out, sterilizing it and putting it back? Just taking it out would be a last resort. So why not try to heal the tooth first?
My phone alarm went off at 8. I wasn't sure if it was the old 8am or the new 8am. I had to check with the microwave. It was the old 8am. My laptop was aware of the time change. I read some e-mail, then dressed and dug up some ferns for Cecelia. I listened to a meditation audio while doing an oil swish. I followed that with a mixture of colostrum and fermented cod liver oil. After 15 minutes of e-mail, I juiced the remaining veggies in the frig. Then I showered, dressed and went to church. I
was there in time to practice with the choir. I gave Cecelia the ferns. Doris was sitting behind her and asked if I could quilt her grandmothers quilts for her. I told her I would give her the name and number of someone with a longarm machine. I sat in our usual spot in the front row. A man I had never seen before sat in the same pew. After church he thanked me for singing so well as it helped him sing the hymns. Jeanne talked to me about a parament she wanted to make with a combination of hardanger and quilting. She wanted to do the hardanger part. Tamara spoke highly of her chiropractor and gave me his name. I went home for lunch, and to listen to an audio. I found that Tamara's chiro is on our insurance list. I was going to go quilting but Chris came home then. We went to the grocery store. After putting the groceries away, we went to Home Depot. I wanted vegetable garden plants, but they did not have any. What they did have was ornamental kale. I asked if it was edible and the sales lady called someone who called someone, etc, and the word was yes, but it won't taste the same. I bought a bunch of them, in several varieties. We also bought grass seed. On the way home we stopped at WalMart for an electric pencil sharpener. At home, Chris emptied the trunk of the ornamental plants and numerous jars of canned tomatoes from his mother. I noticed my leaf box was full of hay. Our neighbor must have dropped it off, after he finished his lawn. Chris gave me a foot rub and then we cuddled. He got up for supper. I ate some fish and salad greens. I read e-mail and watched a short video. I started a loaf of bread for Chris. Then we watched 2 episodes of Forever Knight. When we came up, the bread was finished. It smelled so good that I asked Chris if this is what heaven smells like.

All this color ought to be in a quilt

I don't remember how early I got up. I started reading e-mail, and recharged my i-pod. I set my water jug outside in the sun. I folded drycleaner plastic in the bedroom. I put away some stuff on the counter in the bathroom. I jumped on the rebounder. I cleaned up the dirty dishes from yesterday, then juiced sprouts, green beans, peppers and carrots. I took the juicer parts outside to spray clean. I cleaned a small shelf in the fridge. I listened to an audio during breakfast. I was trying to make my scarf longer by taking out some stitches, when I noticed people in the front yard. It was our neighbor cutting a dead tree on the edge of the property and his son and a friend. The cable line was hanging low like the the tree hit it. He offered to cut some dying limbs off of one of our trees. Then we dragged the wood into a pile by the street. He brought the pieces of his downed apple tree, too. And he raised the wire back up to where it should be. I ran a cord from the electrical box to run the leaf blower, but it didn't work. So I got more cord and ran it from the back patio to the side yard. It didn't work either until I gave it a good whack. I blew the leaves out of the pine straw and put them in boxes. I carried the boxes to the leaf pile with a hand cart. Then I raked up the pinestraw and put it into the same two boxes, but wheeled them to the pinestraw pile. It was nice to see that the leaf blower would move the leaves without hurting the grass, unlike the rake. The man next door thinks I should rake up the dead grass and plant grass seed. I wonder if someone uphill from us put herbicide on their lawn and it washed down to ours and is killing all the fall weeds that fill in for the summer grass. After dumping the pinestraw, I picked up the pile of yard debris at the far back and hauled it to the pile by the road. I put the boxes and hand cart away. My back had had enough yard work. I took pics of the beautiful leaves that had fallen in the back yard. I picked a plaintain leaf and chewed it into a poultice for my tooth. I read about the time change and wrote it on a sheet of paper which I taped to the wall across from my bed. That way I will see it first thing in the morning. I laid down for awhile. I ate some fish with fermented cod liver oil, and kimchi. After reading e-mail, and listening to another audio, I checked the mail and laid down. I got up at 9 to post to my blog and maybe get some sewing in before bed.

Can't beat fresh fish

I got up just after 7 to e-mail Parker with a thought I had. I went back to bed, and listened to some meditation audios. Then I got up and saw the sunlight streaming into the guest room. I covered my embroidery machine which was sitting near the window. On the bed were the two torn sheets. I decided to pin them together and 'quilt' them so we'll have one sheet with no rips. Both have been ripped and patched before. Pinning was as far as I got. Then I read e-mail, and googled alternatives to root canals for tooth infections. Plaintain was recommended so I picked one from the front yard and washed it and put it in my mouth. Later I juiced a bag of cranberries and drank it. I also juiced celery, saving it for later. I called Dad, but he didn't answer. I listened to an audio. Chris called to say he was leaving for Augusta. I wished him well. I also wished I could go, but with the threat of my back spasming and no muscle relaxers, I decided long trips were out. I read more of the dental e-book. I put on my suit to sunbathe since it was such a nice day. And in November, too. With a second audio playing, I raked leaves in the back yard and clipped grass growing through the fence. The bug man appeared, and startled me. He sprayed and knocked down cobwebs, which was really nice. I ate some of the raw salmon. It was so good it just melted in my mouth. Then I baked the rest. I also cooked up the ground beef in a fry pan. I ate some of the beef and put it away. After I pulled the fish out of the oven and left it to cool, I went back outside. It was such a nice day. I sat in the sun and tapped goodbye to our house in Pinehurst. It occurred to me that that might help it get sold, which would get the tenant problem off of my mind. I had to move the chair several times to stay in the sun. When I came in, I was struck by a thought. I needed a photo of someone I hadn't seen in awhile, and there might be one in our wedding album. And there was. But how to get it out to be copied? I took a pic of it with my digital camera and cropped it. I think I can print it out at the drug store. I read an interesting tidbit in the dental book: when the back molars rest comfortably together, it sends a message to the trigeminal nerve to relax. But if they don't, or if the jaw has to close in an unnatural position to make the contact, the body cannot fully relax, heal and regenerate. That hits pretty close to home. I found my nightguard (which I haven't seen in years) and tried it on to see if it closed the space between my molars. But of course it didn't, because its whole purpose is to keep my teeth from grinding together as I sleep. The book also said that improper bite alignment is a factor in most neurological diseases. I took a shower, and went to bed, but got back up to write my blog post for today.
