Roaming through rummage

I woke up early having a dream that my bedroom was under water and I was suffocating. But when I got up and realized that this was not so, I went back to bed. I wondered what it meant until I went back to sleep. I woke again at 8:20. The sun was streaming through the guest room window, so I sat there and did the drybrushing process. Being unclear on some of it, I searched the internet and spent too much time and got sidetracked. I remembered my exercises, and juicing. I stitched up some underwear and took a shower and ate breakfast. I was about to leave when I thought of my supplements. But they'd run out yesterday, so I had to make up another set of doses. I went to the First Christian yard sale. I was hoping to find some shoes like the ones I have. They did not have them, but I got some quilting magazines and fabric. They had paint, too, but not labeled as to color. I came home to get our extra grocery bags for the church sald. The postman was delivering a package for Chris. I ate the rest of my breakfast. Then I went to our church to help out. My experience at the thrift shop in Korea came in handy. I sorted books, magazines and CD's. I also priced purses. Chris was home when I got back. We ate supper (salad and beef). I read the latest e-mail, and searched for pics of math quilts. I ironed strips while waiting for Chris to finish. We watched the sequel to Mannequin. It was no where near as good as the original. Chris looked up some of the actors to see what else they've been in. Then he went to bed, and I decided that Day 5 of the Tapping Summit could wait.

Time-out

I woke up at 9, which is not bad for having gone to bed after midnight. I read some e-mail, then got dressed and took out the recyclables. I played an audio while juicing. I forgot to exercise and went straight to breakfast. In preparation for sewing away from home, I trimmed up all my Linus blocks, preserving the order. I opened the bag of squares and found that they were not uniform in size, proportion, or fiber content. I sorted them, and threw some back in the bag as a backup project. I rolled my cart out to the car and drove to the Stitch-its house. The tables were full, but they squeezed me in. I talked to Mary as I sewed the blocks in row 1 and row 2. Everything went well until row 3. I had to do a lot of unstitching and restitching and finally it went in time-out. I proceeded to row 4. When I finished row 4, everyone was packing up. So I did, too. When I got home, it was just after 2. I ate lunch, took my supplements, and read e-mail. I raked leaves under the magnolia tree for some fresh air. I would have found more to do, but the sunshine was not as warm as it looked. After checking e-mail one more time, I decided to work on the Linus quilt. The group is starting a new pattern on Sunday and I want to get this one out of the way. I finished rows 5 and 6, then sewed 1 to 2, and 4 to 5 to 6. Row 3 was still in time-out. I came up to greet Chris and get my camera. Then row 3 decided to cooperate and took it's place with the other rows. Chris made two beef roasts for supper. He cut for me the thickest parts which were red inside. Mmmmm. Then I fixed a sprout salad to go with it. We watched The Sting with Robert Redford for our evening entertainment. Chris went to bed, and I stayed up for day 4 of The Tapping Summit.

Out, out, darned spot

I woke up before 9. I started my day with drybrushing. I have had the brush for a week or two now but kept forgetting to use it. It stimulates the lymph system. Then I cleared the first round of e-mail and put an audio on. I did the first round of exercises and tapped while reading e-mail. I got myself a smaller chair to see if it would be more comfortable. I juiced, then made breakfast. After reading the next round of e-mail, I tried to meditate. I have a BWE CD and it was in the CD changer in the living room. But that receiver would not cooperate. So I tried the one in my bedroom. I thought I was listening to waves for an hour, but when the CD changed and the sound went on, I knew it was only static. I punched around the buttons until all of a sudden the second CD was blaring in my headphones. I shut it down and went outside because it was sunny but came back in because it was so cold. I spent the afternoon on and off the computer searching for UVB bulbs (useful for making vitamin D). Lots of places sell the lamps (using proprietary bulbs), but I just want to buy the bulb. The delivery man rang the bell as he dropped off two packages. One was the centimeter quilting ruler. I read a very long page on a site for alternative cancer-fighting practices. It recommended potassium bicarbonate for alkalizing one's PH. It also recommended potassium iodide for skin cancers. So I dabbed some on that annoying spot on my forehead. I tried meditating again and Chris came home. He opened his package and it was a new operating system for his laptop. He fixed himself a bowl of soup. I stitched up some underwear and took a shower. After eating a bowl of soup, it was time for choir practice. When I got to the church, it was full of donated items for our yard sale on Saturday. I went into the sanctuary where the children were finishing their singing. The adults joined them on their last song. Then we had our own practice. As we sang some new stuff, I used my tablet to keep me on pitch. The guy behind me liked the idea, but he doesn't have a tablet. After practice, I looked through the donations. I did not see anything I couldn't live without. When I got home, I checked my e-mail, made some notes to my blog, and then we watched 2 episodes of The Flash. Chris went to bed, but I stayed up for Day 3 of the Tapping Summit.

Dinner out

I woke up after 9, having slept well after a long day. I read a little e-mail, then washed the cake stand and veggie plate and put them away. I did my exercises and read more e-mail. I juiced all the leftover veggies and added a cucumber and a green pepper. I got dressed, grabbed my quilt binding project and headed for the Tuesday group. I sat and talked to one of the ladies. She told me all about a block swap she participated in where the batik quilts did not turn out well. After she left, Jane explained the trip they are planning for Paducah and she encourage me to sign up. On the way home, I stopped at the Asian store for kimbap, sprouts, and persimmons. I might sweeten the next cake with persimmons. When I got home, I read e-mail while eating the kimbap and some kimchi. You'd think I would be full, but then I made my usual breakfast and ate all of that. I turned off the heat and opened the windows. This place smells funky and I don't know why. I hope it is not the couch. When making breakfast I noticed that the flax and chia seeds were getting low. So I ordered more on Amazon. I cleared e-mail and listened to the tapping meditation link that came with one of the audios last night. While listening to another audio, I deleted all the pictures on my camera to make room for more.  Because it was a sunny day, I called up an interview on my tablet to listen to while working outside. I went through three before I found one that would play on the tablet. I raked up pinestraw and leaves for an hour, barefoot. Then it was back inside for another round of e-mail. Chris came home a little early. He made dinner reservations for us and a friend/coworker who was in town for a short time. I ran out of new e-mail so I ran some internet searches on symptoms of potassium-sodium imbalance.
I cleared the sink. I folded two baskets of laundry and put them away. I changed my clothes and we went out to Bonefish Grill to meet Rob. He was some environmental guy that Chris met in Korea. They talked some shop, but it was a nice meal, especially with the lobster special. The dinner broke up about 9. We got home in time to watch one episode of The Flash. Then I listened to the audios for Day 2 of the Tapping Summit: pain relief.

The big day

I made the bed after I got up. The time on the microwave was 6:30. I put bread ingredient in the bread machine, tweaking it to make it sweeter and more cake-like. I emptied the dishwasher, and made breakfast. I turned on the Cd player in the livingroom. It has 4 CD's in it. I exercised, and then ate breakfast. I put out a small quilt to let the ladies know this was the right place. I noticed the porch was dirty, so I swept it and then noticed the door. I washed the door as high as I could reach. I vacuumed the den again. I cleaned like there was no tomorrow - because there isn't. By then the motivation will be gone.
I took the risen dough and sectioned it into balls. I had planned to dip them in butter and then sugar and cinnamon, but they were so sticky that I skipped the butter. We did not have any regular sugar, so I put the demarara sugar in the blender. I left the balls of dough in a bundt pan to rise. I cleared the entryway table for purses. I cut up meat and cheeses, arranging it on a platter. I scrubbed the second patio table and set it up with chairs in basement. I found a platter to place cut-up carrots and celery. I put a bowl of hummus in the center of the platter. The baked bread went on a cake plate, and I put out dates. I got out the glasses, and put mugs by the coffee pot. I went down to clean the sewing room, and heard a car horn so I ran back up. Bertha and Alice had arrived. They came in the back door. I turned on the coffee pot. We sat in the dining room to chat, drink coffee and do handwork. Rebecca came later. She brought lemonade and a hedgehog fat quarter. She basted a quilt top on the ping pong table. The ladies ate later. They really enjoyed the bread. But there was a lot left over. Rebecca was the last to leave. She let me look through her lace box, and I let her pick through my lace/ribbon bin. After she left, I put away the meat and cheese cubes, and the carrots and celery. I tried a little piece of the bread. It was ok, but a dollop of coconut cream made it even better. I swept up the threads in the diningroom and returned things to their original positions. I brought in the small quilt. Chris came home and helped me take the patio table out. I put the ironing board away, and the glasses and plates. We ate chicken vegetable soup for supper. He tried the bread with brandy and then with coconut cream. He caught up on all the e-mail and stuff he missed when he was trying to save his laptop yesterday. Then we watched the original version of The Italian Job and then one episode of The Flash. I looked the movie up on IMDB. I had only seen the 2003 remake. Because today was the first day of the Tapping Summit and I did not get a notice, I signed up for it again. Then I played the audios at the end of the link and did the tapping.

Lion Pillows (and the cleaning continues)

Chris got up really early. I only beat the phone alarm by 8 minutes. I started breakfast then took a shower. I ate breakfast while clearing e-mail. There wasn't much. I got dressed and Chris dropped me off at the church. I was early so I talked to Susan about the rummage sale. I checked the craft room and it was set up for the little kids. I was a bit anxious leading a craft that I did not prepare. I was afraid it would not go well and the kids would be disappointed or unoccupied, OR it would go well and the leaders would think calling me at the last minute was a fine idea. I sat in the garden room for the opening session. It seemed a little disorganized because key people came late. Deidre was assigned to help me with crafts and good thing, too, because the kids needed a lot of help tying, gluing and marking. The color of sharpies we had did not show up well. I was afraid we would not have enough stuffing, but it went a long way. No one seemed to be tracking time and the clocks did not agree. When I got to the sanctuary for choir warm-up, they were finished. Chris came back for the service. The service went well. Afterward we left pretty quickly. For some reason people were not lining up to walk out like they usually are. At home we changed clothes and went to the grocery store. We put those away and ate lunch. We washed Chris' car. I vacuumed and dusted in the dining and living rooms. Then finally the kitchen. I washed the cabinet doors and the window sill. Chris made soup, so I took a break to have some and write up the day so far for my blog before I forgot it. Then I cleaned the garage, or rather swept it with a broom and cleared off the cutting mat on the ping pong table. With the daylight almost gone, I turned to the kitchen, cleaning both countertops and walls, and stove top including the burner bowls. I brought in the patio table and put it in the den with chairs. I set up the ironing board by the kitchen. Chris had been working to save his laptop all afternoon. He finally came to a stopping point, and we went downstairs to watch 2 episodes of The Flash. I planned to go on cleaning after the shows, but was tired and went to bed instead.

Cleaning frenzy

I woke up thinking I might be late for Sunday School. I saw on the clock in the kitchen that it was only 7, so I went back to bed to wait for my phone alarm. I could not believe that I hadn't thought about it last night. Then I realized that it was only Saturday. Phew!
I got up again about 9 and took a shower, noticing how slowly the water drained, and how much cleaning the bathroom needed before Monday. I did my exercises in the den, and then read e-mail. I made breakfast and ate part of it. I watched a video on self health care. I went outside in the sunshine to finish breakfast and to forage. I laid in the sun for a little bit. I scrubbed the patio table. Then my attention turned to the bathrooms. I cleaned the sinks, and toilets. I scrubbed my tub, then vacuumed the floor and washed the floor by hand. I don't think I have done that before because I was surprised to find that I could not reach all the way behind the toilet. Oh well. While the floor dried, I watched another video, this one with John Gray. I ordered some organic vegetable seeds. I ate an early supper of liver and pickled garlic. I went back to cleaning, mostly in the dining room. There was a lot of stuff to go through. I ate a sweet potato and a leaf of aloe. I practiced the choir anthem.  Chris started gaming. I listened to another audio and then went downstairs to commit a neatness in my sewing room. Ha, ha. As if that were possible. I joined the edges of the binding on the batik quilt. I sewed a seam that was pinned in fish fabric, then piled all the pieces together and put them away. I made a few edits on the Linus quilt to get it ready for laying out. It went back in the box. Lots of sorting took place. I found a few more boxes that could have gone with Freecycle.  I put a backing on the second paper-pieced project.  I made it bigger than the front so that when I turned it inside out, it would show on the front.  I did not actually clean (one must find a flat surface first), but there is always tomorrow. It was getting near 10 and I found myself taking stitches out of a green strip trimmed from a quilt. I figured I could do that upstairs while on the computer. Chris was finished with the game except for the after-game chat. He got Michele on Skype so I could talk to her. She is over her cold, and enjoying her job. I had to hang up then so I could review the craft for tomorrow and pray that all the prep work has been properly done.
