Cleaning baseboards

Wednesday

I got up after 8. I put a bag on the screen door with egg money and empty cartons. I made coffee and did the lymph exercises. I read for half an hour. Then I meditated and tapped. When I was done, I started cleaning the house. I washed dishes and put them on the stove top to dry. Best use of the grates.

I read e-mail for a bit, then took a shower. I watered the plants. I went to 602 to clean for three hours. I scrubbed a lot of baseboards.  After I got home, Steve called to come over and drop off the key. So I was ready for him with the two items he had given me to mend. He arrived and gave me the key. I gave him the items and we chatted.

Then he left and Chris came home from Mass. I listened to a movie about the Federal Reserve, which is neither federal nor do they have a reserve. They are private bankers who 'print' money digitally and then charge our government interest on those digits. That's where our taxes go.

When it was over, I worked on my blog. We watched two episodes of Taxi. Then we retired to our laptops. At 11, I put a bag of beans in a tub to rinse and soak. I also boiled some water to soak nuts for tomorrow. I got ready and went to bed. Chris stayed up a little later, then came to bed. But since he kept coughing, he moved to the living room so he wouldn't keep me awake.

Lights out

Tuesday

I got up after 8, Chris had gone to work. I got ready for the day. I trimmed pages of music and taped pages together for each song. I patched Steve's jeans. I made a "No Parking" sign and slipped it in the magnetic sleeve. I went to clean for 2 hours. Mostly walls. I put the magnetic sign on the garage door, hoping the red Malibu in the driveway will get moved.

I went home for breakfast. Then I went to Saronna's house. We practiced hymns and Christmas music. Then I went back to 602A to clean for another 2 hours. I went home and started making supper. Steve came over to get his jeans. He gave me two more things to mend. We were talking on the front porch when Chris came home after work.

I made and ate supper and read messages. I listened to a podcast by Mike Adams. I worked on my blog. When I finished, Chris and I took my car to the swap shop. He carried the microwave in for me. Then we went to the gas station and filled the tank. When we got back, we watched one episode of Taxi. It was almost 10.

I read some Telegram messages, and then right after Taps, the electricity went out. I jotted notes for my blog, waiting for the generators to kick in. Took about 15 minutes. I lit a candle and went to the bathroom. Then the lights came back on. The internet would take longer, so I used the time to mend the items that Steve gave me.  When the internet did not come back, I went to bed.

The longest band practice

I got up around 8.  Chris was not in bed  so I assumed he went to work.  I washed up and got ready for the day.   I went to address a birthday card and realized the envelop was too  dark blue for the ink to show.  So I hunted for blank labels and  couldn't find any.  I wrote the address on a white piece of cardstock  and cut it out with fancy scissors.  I glued that to the envelop and  finished the process.  During that process I heard a throat-clearing  and found that Chris was sleeping on the sofa.</font></p>  <p align="LEFT"><font size="4">I posted to Facebook announcing band  practice tonight.  Mrs. Popkin had given me some matchbooks so I  prepared a stink bomb for the gophers.  Chris got up and started  coffee.  I watered the plants with a weak whey solution.</font></p>  <p align="LEFT"><font size="4">I went to 60B to clean.  Only the bathroom  was left so I worked on that.  But what I had to clean with wasn't  strong enough, so I went home to get a pumice stone and some  scrubbies.  I also found some more ammonia.  I picked up the puzzles  and music.  I went to 602A to get the tub soaking in ammonia.  A man  came by to replace the filter and Corporal Popken drove by.  I helped  him carry the fire pit to his house.  I drained the hose by the front  door and put it in my trunk.  I went by Self Help to return it but  they were closed.  Then I went to the library where I made copies of  some music and dropped off the puzzles.</font></p>  <p align="LEFT"><font size="4">Finally I went home for lunch.  Chris still  wasn't feeling well.    I read e-mail and other messages as I ate.   Around 2:30 I went back to 60B to finish the bathroom, mop the floors  and sweep out the shed.  Then I packed up my cleaning stuff and went  to 602A to drop it off.  However the red car was still there.  So I  parked in 602B and unloaded my supplies, then I parked in the street.   </font>  </p>  <p align="LEFT"><font size="4">I worked on the worst part which was the  sliding glass doors.  They were full of mud and dog prints.  I also  scrubbed the nearby walls.  Then I went to Jamie's house to pick a  pumpkin.  We chatted about her dog that had just been put down.  She  agreed to mow the lawn at 60B so we could have an inspection.</font></p>  <p align="LEFT"><font size="4">I went home, passing Self Help.  I asked  the lady there if she wanted the hose back and she said no.  When I  got home, I asked Chris about the hose and he said he would speak to  his team.  I heated ground beef and potatoes in the toaster oven.  I  relaxed and read messages until it was ready, then I ate my supper. </font>  </p>  <p align="LEFT"><font size="4">Immediately I had to get my music and head  to the chapel.  I was a little late and they were all crowded at the  door waiting.  I let us in and I texted Jenni.  Then I assembled my  trombone, and everyone found their place.  We went through the two  hymns for Sunday.  Jenni showed up with her tambourine.  We played  through Christmas music.  Michelle showed up and started taking  pictures.  Steve came and left me some ammonia and a pair of jeans to  fix.  </font>  </p>  <p align="LEFT"><font size="4">I invited Michelle to sing along and she  really enjoyed it.  It got late and Saronna had to take her kids  home.  Those who remained, finished the list of Christmas songs.   Jenni left.  I brought in some sticky traps from 60B and we placed  them around the chapel.  Then Keli left.  I was too tired to go home.   Michelle stayed to talk to me.  She was looking up red dresses for  our performance.  Finally she offered to carry most of my stuff out  to the car so we could both go home.  </font>  </p>  <p align="LEFT"><font size="4">
Chris was still up when I got home.  I read messages and listened to short videos.  Then I started working on my blog.  He went to bed.  I listened to the wind as I typed.  I made tea.  I read more e-mail, then went to bed.

Potluck

Sunday

I got up at 8:30, took supplements, brushed teeth and read messages. Later I made a batch of cheese squares. I answered more form questions, then made breakfast. After eating, I got dressed for church and packed up some of the cheese squares and some of the seed crackers.

When I got to the chapel, I warmed up. There were people to talk to. Then we sang some praise songs and started the service. The chaplain preached all about communion and we each used a little communion pack to be the bread and wine. Then the chaplain blessed the food and the band played two hymns.

We went to the fellowship hall for a potluck lunch. The chaplain had brought ribs and they were good. I saved one for Chris. There were lots of people to talk to and I was one of the last to leave. Michelle was there for a bit, then left. So was the colonel. In fact, I was surprised how many people came.

It was 3:30 when I got home. I read messages online. John called on Chris' phone but Chris was lying down. So I talked to him about my character. Then Jenni came over to show me that she found a new monitor in its box in the dumpster. What a find!

I changed clothes and woke up Chris. We got ready for the game. I played along, casting the same spells that came in handy last time. I even worked on my blog.

Afterward, Chris soon went to bed. Jenni texted to say that the monitor had a crack on the bottom and didn't work. I stayed up to hydrate and read articles, like about CGM and to close open tabs. I posted to my blog and went to bed.

Professional massage

Saturday

I got up after 8, surprised it was so late. I took supplements and prepared for the day. I watched some URU vidoes to make notes for next game night. I boiled water to pour over several handfuls of nuts. Then I watered the plants and took a shower. I made more breakfast mix. I made and ate breakfast.

Jenni came to pick me up at 10:30. I brought a bottle of water. We headed to and through Tooele to Stansbury Park. We made a wrong turn and ran into a yard sale. So we shopped. It made us late for our appointment at the spa.

When we got there, we initialed papers we had filled out before. Then we went back to change into robes. I sat for a few minutes waiting, then headed back and ran into the massage person. She escorted me to a room with a massage table. I climbed under the sheets and she did a full body massage. It was wonderful!

Then I sat in the waiting room til Jenni came out. The owner brought us drinks and snacks. We chatted as we nibbled. Then we got dressed and went to pay. Finally we were on our way home.

We got back before 3. I went home to change clothes, then to 60B to get my cleaning kit. I proceeded to Keli's RV. I cleaned for an hour and 45 minutes. I texted her when done, and went home around 5. Chris had talked about going out to eat, but said he wasn't feeling well. So I read e-mail for awhile. Then he started cooking ground beef for supper.

Just then, Michelle texted that she needed her hair cut. So I went over. I waited till she got out of the shower with wet hair. She handed me scissors and I trimmed off her split ends. Then she trimmed my hair. We chatted and her family joined in. Some of her extended family want to move to Dugway and she is not in favor of it.

I went home where Chris had ground beef on the stove and rice in the cooker. I picked some greens and threw them on top of the rice to steam. I sliced up a ripened tomato over the ground beef. When the greens were steamed, I ate them too. I listened to a podcast.

I worked on my blog. Chris went to bed early. Although I continued to read, I went to bed earlier than normal as well.

Swap Meet

Friday

I got up after 8. I made up a weeks worth of supplements. Then I got dressed and went to Math Morning. I unlocked the chapel and set up the table. Saronna came with Moira. The others were home sick. Casey came too. I found two mice in the trap and pitched them outside.

Afterward, I locked the chapel and went home. Then I went to the swap meet at the pavilion by the gym. Jenni was set up with two tables of stuff she priced and laid out. The swap shop had laid out 4 tables, and a mother with young kids was selling rice crispie treats and chocolate oatmeal cookies.

I hung out talking to people about gardening till noon. Then I helped pack up the swap shop stuff that was left. I bought a bottle of stinky perfume from Jenni to use on gophers.

I went home for breakfast. Then Chris and I went to the commissary. We unloaded those groceries and went to Tooele. He shopped at Luckey's while I went to Melanies. There was nothing left that would be at Macey's so we went back to base. We unloaded the food, then I started fermented cheese and vinegar cheese. The vinegar cheese was done in less than an hour and I strained it and put it in a jar.

I drained the hoses on both sides of the house. I filled out my ballot – it was like a take-home test and I had to look the answers up online. Subsequently, I worked on my blog and posted it. Then I filled some bottles with tea.

I took the jar of cheese and went to Game night at Michelle's house. She wasn't there but Casey had the game up on the TV. We chatted as I played. I made progress in all worlds except one. At 11, I shut it down, thanked him, and went home.

Chris was still up. His came had ended right after 10. He was reading on his laptop. I remembered the fermented cheese was still in the dehydrator. I pulled it out and sliced the curd. I stirred and strained the curds until I had them all. I left them in a sprouter to drain overnight. Then we went to bed.

prepping for cold weather

Thursday

I got up around 8. I turned on my phone and there was a text from Michelle asking me if I like my pillow. I unwrapped the new wedge pillow and set it on the bed. I got dressed and went to Bible study at the chapel at 8:30.

Afterward, I opened the swap shop for Janet and she got some clothing for the kids. I watered my plants at home. I drained and wrapped up the hoses at house #2.

John helped me uplevel my character, then I watched The Highwire. At her request, I broke into Jenni's house to get her purse. Then I went home for more help to uplevel my character.

I got a call for cleaning and had to go to the signing. When I got back, John gave me more help. It's very intricate. Then Jenni called. So I took her purse to her just off base so she would have her ID.

I went to the garden to turn off the water and disconnect the timers. I came home, then went to 602 to get problem areas soaking. When I got home, I covered plants. Chris brought in the tower garden in pieces and reassembled it in the dining room. He brought in a tomato plant and I snugged others up to the house.

Michelle came by with the hoses from House #2 which we put in the garage. I made supper and read e-mail and messages. I practiced some Christmas music, then we watched three episodes of Taxi. Chris went to bed and I stayed up to listen to a podcast.

My mail order

Wednesday

I got up before 8. I had not slept any better and perhaps not as well as usual. I made coffee and went through a series of special exercises. I threw my bathing suits in the washer for their end of the season cleaning.

I meditated and tapped. I cleaned the bathrooms and kitchen. I washed a ton of dishes and left them on the stove top to dry. I read e-mail for a while, trying to catch up. Then I took a shower and went to the library to make copies of the music for Jenni and Sophia.

I went home to hydrate, then to the swap shop to help choose stuff to take to the swap meet on Friday morning. I also helped clean. Marcus came in looking for kitchen ware. I told him there was a box of some at 60B and we could go over there later.

When I got home, I texted him and met him there. He took the whole box, which was fine with me. I was passing Michelle's house on the way home and stopped to talk because the whole family was sitting outside. She had 4 quarts of goat milk for me.   Also a bunch of stuff she ordered through the mail for me. We visited for a bit and I went home.

I leveled two gopher mounds. I put on an audio and stitched up a rocking elephant from the swap shop. Then I continued reading messages and e-mails. Chris came home from his two-day conference. I worked on my blog.

We watched two episodes of Taxi. Then Chris went to bed. I stayed up to read, then went to bed around 11.

Cooking my produce

Tuesday

Upon arising, I checked my fasting blood sugar. It was higher than I expected. I used a compass to check the direction of my bed and to set the pillows for a north-south heading. I read e-mail for awhile, then went outside to water and to level gopher mounds. Subsequently, I cleaned at 60B for 55minutes.

I went home for breakfast. I hardboiled some eggs and peeled them. Still not my favorite activity. Then I went to meet Saronna and we played through most of the Christmas music, making a few choices.

I went back to cleaning for an hour, then stopped by the garden. I picked tomatoes and carrots and my small watermelon.   At home, I sorted the tomatoes and put the greens ones out to ripen. I ate the ripe ones. Then I boiled the potatoes and beets picked last week. I heated beef for supper. I sent a pic of the carrots to Kenzie since they came from her garden.  I washed three towels that I brought home from 60B, as well as two sheets that had covered the tomato plants.

I read messages and listened to podcasts. I filled out more online forms. I messaged with Jessica from San Jose. I worked on my blog. Since Chris was gone until tomorrow, I watched two episodes of Call the Midwife. Then I got ready for bed and hit the hay, hoping laying in the right direction would improve my sleep.

Donating blood

Monday

I got up after 8. I got dressed, then read messages for awhile. I loaded the scanned hymns onto a thumb drive. Then I went to the library to print out the hymns. We chatted for a bit. Then I went to 60B to clean for an hour and 10 minutes.

When I got back, I made and ate breakfast while reading. I was expecting Jenni any moment. Finally I decided to text her, and realized my phone was still at 60B. While driving over there, I passed Jenni and stopped to tell her I would meet her at her place. So I went and got my phone, then parked across the street from her house. I got in her car and we headed out to the Red Cross center which was close to 2 hours away. I drank the contents of my water bottle on the way.

When we got there, we were asked for our Rapidtest papers. I didn't have one but she did. However hers did not have the QR code. They wanted me to scan one and I said I wasn't set up for that. I went to the restroom and when I came back, Jenni had been called.

So I waited just a bit until I was called into a back room. There a lady took my pulse and blood pressure. She checked my ferritin level – 15. Then she asked me some questions and had me enter the answers to others on her laptop.

Finally she took me to a reclining chair. Too reclined for my comfort. We spoke as she looked for a vein in my left arm and could not find what she wanted. So she went to my right arm, probed it, and made a purple mark. Then she rubbed it with alcohol and stuck the needle in and taped it down. She had given me something to squeeze so I did. But I could feel the needle move with each squeeze. She stood by me until the packet was full.

I commented on all the bloody hand and foot prints around the room. It's only for Halloween she said. She took a couple vials for testing, and then release me to go join Jenni in the snack room. None of the snacks passed muster with me, so I drank water while Jenni ate.

Then we got in her car and went to Cabella's. I hadn't been in one before so the mountain with the taxidermied animals was interesting. Also the aquarium. The fish were very slow-moving and one on the bottom wasn't moving at all. We looked at items here and there, then checked out.

We headed back to base, hoping not to be late. I got home at 5:45. I ate some quick leftovers, then headed out to band practice at the chapel. Jenni did not come. The rest of us played through the hymns and the Christmas music. I noted places where I needed more practice. Then we packed up and went home.

Chris and I took the water jugs to the shoppette to fill them up. When we got back, I tried to catch up on messages and e-mails. I ate a banana with cinnamon. I worked on my blog. Then I made tea and we watched 3 episodes of Taxi. Chris went to bed and I stayed up to read.

Picking an instrument

Sunday

We got up after 8. I brushed and swished. I read e-mail and other messages. Chris went to the office. I worked on filling out forms. Around 11:30 I started making breakfast. I ate, then got dressed for church.

I took my trombone and cheese squares to the chapel. I chatted with several people there. There were soldiers from the Netherlands here for training. Then we stood for the singing of praise songs, and sat for the service. Afterward, Keli and Jenni and I played two hymns. Then the service was over. We shared snacks and people headed home. Mrs. Popken said she was willing to learn an instrument for band and wanted me to choose which one. I have to think about that! I hung back to talk to the chaplain, then I went home.

I read some messages, then went to the garden to water. The frost had killed the tomatoes. So I picked tomatoes from the frosted plants and brought them home. I sorted them by the condition they were in.

I called Faye to talk about our family medical history. She put Kevin on the line and we talked about stuff. Afterward, I picked greens to make a soup. Chris had heated rice and beef and mushrooms in the oven. I ate supper and played the family game: We ran into treasure hunters and fought the off. Instead of letting them die of their wounds, we stabilized them and took them to the mining camp to claim the reward. Then we went back to River City to sell the loot we had collected and buy stuff for future encounters.

I continued reading messages, then worked on my blog. I made tea and we watched three episodes of Taxi. It is more risque than I thought. Chris went to bed but I stayed up to scan two hymns and clean up the copy.

New sewing students

Saturday

We got up late. I looked at URU videos to see what I missed last night and took notes.

I read e-mail and posted to Facebook for Project Night. Chris gave me a coconut oil massage. Then he took his shower and I took mine. After getting dressed, I watered the plants here and leveled gopher mounds. Then I went to the garden to water there and check on the plants.

When I got home, I made and ate breakfast. Chris went to the funeral for the little girl who drowned in the retention pond. I filled out diagnostic forms. Then I got ready for sewing class.

I went to the chapel to set up for sewing. Mrs. Popkin came by with her daughter. She brought her own sewing machine. As I got her started, Saronna came with her 4 kids. I got them started too. And I was busy keeping up with all they were doing.

They left a little before 5. I went home briefly, then headed to 60B to clean for an hour and 5 minutes. I headed home to heat up leftover beef and picked greens. I also started making a carrot salad, but there wasn't time to eat it.

I headed back to the chapel for Project Night. I opened the chapel and turned on the lights. The sewing stuff was still set up. I started laying out half hexagons to come up with a plan for the panel quilt. The challenge reveal is next month. Casey came with Cedric. They worked on their own stuff. Later Michelle dropped by. We talked about the funeral. I went outside with Casey and Cedric to see the comet but it was not visible. Then I started packing up. I don't think they realized it until after I had carried all the heavy stuff back to the storage room. Anyway, they left and I locked up.

When I got home, Chris showed me stains in the white laundry. I brought out the new OxyClean for whites. So we decided to soak them overnight. Then we dressed the bed. We read on our laptops for awhile. Chris went to bed. I finished a podcast and then posted to my blog and went to bed.

Visiting the new temple

Friday

I got up before 8. I washed up and got dressed. I read some e-mail, then took some paper and went to Math Morning at the chapel. Saronna and her kids were right behind me. They were all bundled up because they walked. And it was cold and windy out.

I set up in the fellowship hall. I worked with Jedediah on his alphabet and numbers. Casey came, too. Sophia had flash cards. At 10 they packed up and went home.

I went home to get on my laptop and wait for Zoom. I met with the practitioner from yesterday to ask questions and pay for the program. Since my laptop doesn't have a camera, I wondered if there was a way to use the camera in my phone as a webcam.

After that call, I made more breakfast mix, then made and ate breakfast. Chris was gone, but Michelle had offered to take me to Tooele and she had to go to WalMart anyway. So she came by to pick me up.

We went straight to Melanie's. Melanie and I signed paperwork and I wrote her a check. Then I bought some prebiotics. Then she and I went to a beauty supply store, followed by WalMart. She got 20 matching boxes of tissues for the funeral tomorrow and I got pomegranates.

Talking to the store clerk, we were reminded of the temple opening. This is the last weekend it is open before the dedication. So Michelle drove us over there. It was a busy place! We were given booties to wear over our shoes. Then we went inside.

There were people stationed here and there to make sure everyone went in a pre-approved direction. But there wasn't a lot of explanation. So Michelle explained to me the baptismal font (they baptize volunteers in the stead of people who have already passed with the intention of eventually baptizing everyone who has ever lived.)

On the next floor were rooms where people gather to listen to a long recorded message and make vows to God. Then they pass through a veil room into the Celestial room which is beautifully decorated with chandeliers. (The whole place is awesomely decorated.) Then we went up a level to see the seling rooms where couples and families are sealed. We sat in there for some time, talking. A couple came by who have visited our chapel. They were very happy to see us there.

Then we made our way out. The booties were removed and tossed. We went to her car and headed back to base, talking the whole way. When we got to my house, Chris was gone. I thought he was still in Goshen, but he had come home and then gone gaming with his friends.

I made supper and checked messages. I fixed the tower garden which had gotten blown around. I worked on my blog, then got ready for game night.  I went to Michelle's house.  She was out visiting Saronna, so I chatted with Casey as I played the game.  I went through several worlds, figuring out one puzzle but getting stumped on the next.  On the last world, it took me till after 11 to set myself up to start in a better place next time.
I thanked them and went home.  Chris was still up.  So we went to bed at the same time.

Free consultation

Thursday

I got up after the alarm went off. I got dressed and brushed my teeth. I checked e-mail, etc. I took the large print Bible and a couch pillow and went to the chapel. I had to lay a towel on the car seat because it rained in the windows last night.

Jenni and Keli were there with the chaplain. I joined them and we read from Matthew 13. The chaplain gave insights to the passages. He said that 'to he who has much, more will be given and to he that has little, even what he has will be taken away' is a spiritual principle. Like if you don't use your talents, you will lose them.

After the session, I went home to prepare for a one hour session with a health practitioner who offered a free consultation. It started at 10 and we talked till 1. Michelle called me several times during and I cut off her call. So I called her back afterward. She set up an appointment for me with her practitioner in November when she can drive me. So I called them to confirm the appointment.

Then I tuned into the Highwire as I made up supplements for the week, and then made breakfast. After watching the Highwire, I read a few other things. I filled out the forms the practitioner sent me.

I made the glow-in-the-dark headband for sewing class. Then I decided to make a mask as well. I wasn't thrilled with either. I posted to Facebook for Math Morning tomorrow. I jotted some notes for my blog, then I went out to deal with gopher mounds. Chris came home from work with a pizza.

I watered plants and leveled the mounds. I picked some greens to cut up and add to a piece of steak which went into the toaster oven. I listened to a Tucker Carlson interview on Biden and his corrupt past. I worked on my blog. I made tea and practiced my trombone. Then we sat down to watch two episodes of Taxi. Finally I finished a podcast and played Solitaire before going to bed.

Preparing for frost

Wednesday

I got up after the alarm went off, hearing Chris leave. I prepared for coffee morning with coffee and exercises and meditation. Afterward, I cleaned the bathrooms and kitchen. I watered the indoor plants. I read e-mail for several hours, then realized I needed to prepare the plants for cold temps.

I went to the garden to pick the green tomatoes and cover the plants with sheets. I took down the pole structure. I watered and checked the irrigation system. There was a leak right over a gopher mound. I wonder if the gopher bit it to get water. I picked some peas and beans from Kenzie's garden. I turned off the three irrigation systems that I am responsible for.

I went home to get some hay for the garden garlic bed. I went back to the garden to fix the irrigation line and to mulch the garlic. I put the sun shade cloth over the hay so the wind wouldn't blow it away.

I went to 60B to start cleaning. Saronna saw my text and came over to get the leftover food. I asked if she knew anyone who needed a futon and she came back with a neighbor. We carried it out of the front door and then the kids helped him carry it to his place.

I cleaned for 90 minutes, mostly finishing the kitchen. I went home and found Chris there.  He helped me move some potted plants and put the frost cover on the tower garden.  Michelle messaged me and she said Casey would get the poles from my garden. I said the poles would wait but she wanted him to do it tonight, so I went back to the garden to meet him. We put the poles in his SUV, then went to my house and stored them in the garage.

He went home and I got on my laptop to read. I had a message from Melanie. I worked on my blog. I made tea and we watched two episodes of Taxi. Chris stayed up on his laptop, but went to bed before I did.

Equity Pricing

Tuesday

I got up about 7:45. I got ready for the day. I read messages online. Put on an audio and cleaned in the kitchen. Then I went out to water all the plants and level gopher mounds. I trimmed the onions and mint and tomato plants.

It was 11:30, so I started making breakfast. Chris came home early and moved the next jug of water up to the countertop so I could use it. After eating, I listened to a podcast on continuous glucose monitoring. I went to Saronna's house to practice Christmas music. Then I headed to the signing. He paid and we all signed. The inspectors left. He and I talked for some time. Even though he was leaving a bunch of cleaning supplies behind, he insisted on saying that we should contact him if we needed more money to clean the place. (It wasn't dirty).

After he left, I went home to drop off my trombone. I called Jamie to meet me at his house. Then I went to Housing to get more contracts. I parked at his house and looked through some stuff. Jamie came and we decided together what to take and what to give to the swap shop and what to save for Saronna.

I went home and logged into Zoom for the quilt guild meeting. They were doing some kind of tangram exercise. After that was the business meeting where the president presented Equity Pricing. It was an amazing presentation. So they will now have tiered pricing and people can pick which one they want to pay. Not sure that will work out so well.

Anyway, Chris came home for supper. I ate a steak. I listened to some podcasts. I worked on my blog. I made tea and we watched 3 episodes of Taxi. I'm not loving it, but what else is there?  Later Chris went to bed.  I stayed up to listen to a podcast and play Solitaire.

How to Make a Sandwich

Monday

I got up hearing my 8am alarm. I brushed and swished and took supplements. I checked messages. I finished watching The Dimming (on geoengineering and the effects of nanoaluminum on the environment). Then I watched a series on How to Make a Sandwich. The man grew all the ingredients including wheat, milked the cow, killed and cleaned the chicken, pressed the sunflower seeds for oil to make the mayo, etc. Very interesting. Only took him 6 months.

I worked on my blog post. I went out to deal with gopher mounds. Still didn't catch any. Then I went to the garden. I dug up some potatoes. I watered Kenzie's peas and picked a few. When I got home, I mulched the garlic bed with hay. I put out some onions to cure. I put potatoes in a pile and the onions heads in a baggie.

I made and ate breakfast. I rinsed off the pickled eggs, beets and radishes and put them in a clean jar. I read messages and watched short videos. Denise called and we had a nice chat. I watered the tomatoes in pots with leftover whey. I mowed on the shady side. Then I chose some hymns for Sunday.

At 6 I went to chapel for band.  Keli was out of town.  We played two hymns and some Christmas songs.  I got home about 7. Chris had steaks in the oven. We ate steak and rice. I read messages and e-mail, then worked on my blog.

I made tea and we watched two episodes of Taxi. Michelle texted me that she was planning the funeral for the little girl who drowned. It will be Saturday at 1, right before sewing class. So I may have to move things around.

Afterward, Chris went to bed. I stayed up a little later to read and then I headed to bed, too.

New religious affairs assistant

Sunday

I got up late. I read some e-mail. I made cheese squares. I listened to a talk by a military man who had dreams from the Lord in which Chinese soldiers invade places in America and the people there didn't realize the danger they were in. He was quoting scriptures that he was given at each one. He said the red horse (war) is coming, This is retribution from God. In each dream, Chinese soldiers came and people greeted them as novelties, but they massacred them.

I watered the plants and leveled gopher mounds. Still nothing caught.

I made and ate breakfast, then got dressed for church. I took half the cheese squares and my trombone to the chapel. After service, I met the new religious affairs assistant and his family. They are Pentecostal.  I stayed to talk to Michelle. She was very upset about a local girl who drowned this weekend.

I went home, read messages, and changed my clothes. Chris cooked supper and then started the game: we explored the deserted kobold camp. We tracked the kobolds who were leaving for a safer place. John negotiated for half of their treasure, then we got attacked by 3 women. We ended the game there, to resume next week.

I texted Casey then gathered some tools. I invited Chris to help. So he came too. We went to the swap shop. We measured and marked the walls in the little supply room. The first wall turned out to be concrete so we switched to another wall. We put up two wire shelves with a little trouble.

When we got home, I made tea. We watched one episode of Taxi. I headed to the kitchen, then smelled something bad. It was gas from the stove. Chris opened the doors and windows to let the gas out while I hunted down some fans. One of them didn't work. I listened to The Dimming, while doing puzzles. Chris closed the doors and windows and went to bed. I posted my blog and got ready for sleep.

Making cheese

Saturday

I got up at 7:30, having had to get up several times during the night to rehydrate. I worked on the blog post about yesterday. Then I went through some Myst videos to see what I missed last night. I walked out to look for new gopher mounds and did not notice any. I did not catch any gophers either.

Chris gave me a massage, then we each took our shower. I covered a selection of nuts in hot water. I used half a gallon of goat milk to make vinegar cheese for Michelle. Then I started a half gallon of goat milk for fermented cheese.

I made breakfast, then read messages and articles. I dissolved rennet in some water and added it to the milk. At 2 I went to Keli's RV and cleaned for 2 hours. It took longer because she left a list. When I got home, I hydrated, then separated the curds from the whey of the fermented cheese.

I helped Chris fold laundry, then went to the garden. I watered Kenzie's peas. I planted 4 fists of garlic which only made one zigzag row. I wrapped up the watermelon in netting so critters don't eat it. I put out a dish of water for them. Then I went to Jenni's house. I watered in front and out back and changed the water in the bucket trap.

Chris had supper ready, so we ate. I read and listened to a podcast on health. I put away supper, and worked on my blog. Then I took the vinegar cheese to Michelle's house for a second game night. We talked about things to be ordered.

I worked on the same things as last night. I was able to jump the rock wall but could find nothing else to do after that. In another world, I could not jump down at at place where I know I have jumped down before.

At 11, I shut down the game. I thanked them and went home. Chris was asleep. I got ready for bed and hit the hay.

cleaning at the swap shop

Friday

I got up at 8:45, rushed to get dressed, etc., then went to the chapel for Math Morning. Casey and the Clarks came. As usual, the kids did not want to work on math. Saronna talked about picking up furniture from a house on 1st street. So I asked if she could get the vacuum someone left by a dumpster on 2nd. I wanted it for the swap shop. She said she had other stuff for the swap shop, too.

After Math Morning, I went to the swap shop to clean the sewing machine and the microwave. Saronna came with bags of clothes and the vacuum. It worked. She made her kids hang up all the clothes they brought before they could pick out stuff to bring home. While they were occupied, I wiped down a box of DVD's and Game discs. I threw out the empty cases. I left with some movies, home copies of movies, and 2 power packs.

I went home for breakfast and plugged in the power banks. I watered the outdoor plants. After breakfast, we went to the commissary. We saw the chaplain and talked to him. We shopped and took the food home to put away.

Then we went to Tooele. While Chris shopped at Luckey's, I talked to the CBD man and he convinced me to buy his sleep gelcaps. I also talked to Melanie. Afterward, we went to Macey's, then back to base.

I picked some greens and hot peppers for Michelle. I dealt with some gopher mounds and baited traps with hot peppers. I picked greens for Chris to cook. He accidentally knocked over my pill minder, spilling most of it. I had to separate them all by color and size and figure out where they go.

I plugged my phones into the power banks to see if they work. The phones got recharged. But the large power bank did not fully recharge itself. After supper, I read messages, then worked on two blog posts since I didn't get to post last night. I put together stuff for Game Night, and headed out to the Cleggs.

When I got there, I showed them a pic of a potato I dug up. They thought it was hilarious, so apparently I wasn't imagining what it resembled. Casey had the game up so I started playing. Michelle told me about her day. She helped me find items I needed online.

I went through the game books one by one, getting frustrated in each world. I didn't have the notes I took two weeks ago. Finally, I turned it off at 11. Michelle gave me some goat milk and invited me back tomorrow for the game night I missed last weekend.

When I got home, Chris was asleep. I got ready for bed, then read a few messages before turning in.

Drinking and talking

Thursday

I got up around 8. I got ready for the day. I checked messages, then took my Bible and went to the chapel for Bible study. We read several chapters of Matthew. Then the leader had an appointment to go to.

I went home and made a batch of breakfast mix. I worked on choosing Christmas songs and picking the best version of 4 sources. Then I started making breakfast. Chris came home for lunch. I watched The Highwire which ran for over 2 hours.

I went to the garden around 4. I fixed the irrigation system to the peach trees. I picked most of my green tomatoes because something had pulled off several big ones and partially chewed them. Then I went to Jenni's house to water her plants. I picked her red cherry tomatoes. Finally I went to library to make copies from two of the four sources. Melissa and I had a nice chat.

I went home for supper. I posted to Facebook for Math Morning. I went out to mow and came in when it got dark. Chris was on the phone with Michele and John. He was also drinking wine. It made him very talkative. So after the call, he kept talking. No military secrets or anything, but he loved everybody. In fact, he talked till 1am, all the while insisting that he is the same whether he is drinking or not. Then I had a hard time getting to sleep. Sigh.

Update horks my laptop

Wednesday

I got up when I heard my alarm go off. I checked messages, then prepared for coffee morning. I watered the indoor plants. I read for half an hour. I tapped and meditated. Then I started cleaning. I washed dishes. Chris came home just as I was about to mop the kitchen floor. So I vacuumed carpeted rooms instead and emptied the vacuum cups. Then I mopped the floor.

I wrestled with the computer to read messages. It had updated and now everything works differently. I called the bank. I showered and got dressed. I watered the outdoor plants, then went to Saronna's house to play Christmas music and narrow down our choices. We talked as much as we played. We talked about cats and booing people. The kids came home from school. Then she got a phone call so I left.

I went home and my computer was unstuck. I jotted notes for my blog. I went through the loose music to organize it somehow. Michelle texted me so I texted back, it was about opening the swap shop for someone who posted on Facebook.

I went out to deal with gopher mounds. I found one trap where the peanutbutter was eaten and the trap was buried, but not sprung. I also watered the newly-planted garlic. Then I walked to the swap shop. Michelle was not far behind. She had some bags of clothes to donate. Then another lady came with help and they donated a bunch of stuff including a sewing machine and a microwave, but both were filthy.

Afterward, Michelle and I went for a long walk and she told me all the new developments in her life. Quite a few! She drove me home and we kept talking. Finally we finished. I went inside where Chris was on his laptop because Mass was canceled.

I mowed the back yard and part of the front yard. I plugged in the battery to recharge. I got on my computer to look up amortization schedules. The laptop was horked up. Certain things did not work, like the calculator and the sound bar. Chris told me to reboot it. I looked up how to uninstall Copilot, the Microsoft AI which it installed at some point. The directions said to run Powershell, but the bottom search bar didn't work. Chris got a drop-down menu to appear and I clicked on Powershell, then copy pasted the suggested info. Gobbeldygook came up and it seemed to be saying unauthorized. Copilot was still there, but for some reason everything was working.

I spent time comparing amortization schedules, then I worked on my blog, and made tea. We watched episodes of Taxi. Chris went to bed and I stayed up to read messages.

Dinosaur museum

Saturday

I woke up slowly, around 8:45. I woke up Chris so he could get ready and go to breakfast which usually stops serving at 9. While he was gone, I checked messages and e-mail. I started making my breakfast. He came back saying breakfast was served till 10. We discussed the hurricane and FEMA efforts and Mayorkas.

Around 11 we headed out to Utah Raptor State Park. We expected to find a visitor's center, but all we found were dusty trails. In fact we got stuck in a 'bog' of dust and sand. Fortunately the Rangers soon found us. We put stones behind the front wheels and two pushed while one drove. Several 4x4's when by and just waved. But then someone stopped and offered to help, saying he had anything we might need. The way Chris' car is constructed, there is no rear axle so it could not be towed. But the guy had traction ramps and they worked really well. I think we should get some.

After everyone left, we parked on more solid ground, then walked the trail, and explored some rock piles. I found what I think is a fossil. Chris allowed that it might be. We walked on, investigated some features, then walked back to the car.

We drove to the dinosaur museum. We bought the wristbands for admission, then went inside. Actually out the back. There was a place for me to refill the water bottle. We walked in the museum and looked at the exhibits. One of them purported to be a game so I suggested we play. But just then an elderly man asked if we would like a 10 minute tour of the back room where they separate fossilized bone from surrounding rock. So we did. He showed us a dinosaur costume. Then we went to the back room where an elderly lady was. He explained some casts of dinosaur foot prints then asked if she would like to talk about the dinosaur leg. She looked at us and asked if we had any questions. So I asked what it was. She talked a little, but needed constant questions to keep going. Then she wanted to show us an ankylosaur skeleton. So we followed her to a far room. She excused herself to get some water and never came back. We looked at all the stuff in the room, then decided to go see the half mile track of faux dinosaurs. It was interesting. We met a family from Germany and chatted with them. Then they went on ahead. I was happy to get back and refill my water bottle. In spite of all the water I drank, I hardly needed the restroom.

When we got back, we ate a chocolate bar that melted in the car. We read on our laptops for awhile, then took showers and put on clean clothes. We discussed dinner and he said he wanted to try the Moab Brewery. So we went there.

The parking lot was full so I wondered if we should try somewhere else. But even so, they had a place for us. It was a busy but not a dressy place. We were served in reasonable time. Chris got a half chicken and I got a really big burger, with brisket on it as well. Neither of us could finish so we had it boxed. Chris enjoyed talking to the waiter in Spanish.

We went back to the hotel. I finished reading then worked on my blog while Chris hooked his laptop to the big screen TV and called up some romantic music videos.

When I finished going through messages on my computer, I laid on the bed with a bottle of water. Chris put on The Umbrella Academy and we watched two episodes of their new season. Afterward, I made sure the water bottles were filled for tomorrow and took the bedtime supplements and we went to bed.

Sunday

I slept pretty well, waking early to hit the restroom. Not sure I ever went back to sleep after that. Chris seemed to be awake by 7:45. He got up, showered and dressed, then went to breakfast. I read e-mail and it seemed he wasn't gone long. So then I washed up and made my breakfast. We continued to read on our laptops for some time.

Later we put on hiking clothes and went to Dead Horse Point State Park. Terrible name for a park. Anyway, we walked around the visitor's center, then walked the short nature trail which had places to stop and take pics from high places. Then we took the East Rim Trail, and chatted with other folks doing the same. There was a rest stop there, which we used, then headed on another trail which kind of ran by the road. That was good because I stubbed my toe and it made walking painful. Chris offered to go back and get the car, but then two ladies from France were parked at the lookout and he asked them for a ride. They drove us back to the visitor's parking area and we thanked them.

We went back to our hotel. I laid down and Chris says I fell asleep. When I got up, he laid down and fell asleep. I salted and ate the veggies from last night then read messages and e-mail.

After Chris woke up, we decided to go to dinner at the Sunset Grill. He took a shower and got dressed. I washed up and put on nice pants. Then we headed out. It was high on a cliff and the drive was a little scary for me. But then it turned out they are closed on Sundays. So, we went to a nearby place called Byrdie's. I thought I might be overdressed, but it was an artsy place and expensive. The food was very good. He got the prime rib sandwich and I had the farmer's plate. It was full of veggies and goat cheese and beet hummus. Sadly, they insisted on boxing our leftovers and mine got tossed. But we ordered cheesecake and they gave it to us free of charge. Not sure why. Chris tipped the waiter with cash.

We went back to the hotel. We sat at our laptops for some time. Then we shared some of the cheesecake. I worked on my blog and then we watched more episodes of The Umbrella Academy. After that, Chris went to bed. I stayed up just long enough to take all my evening supplements and cover as many little lights as I could before turning off the big light.

Then I went to bed, too. However, I tossed and turned. My left leg bothered me. I got up numerous times to drink, pee, take more magnesium, etc. But finally sleep came.

New cleaning quote

Tuesday

I got up around 8. I got ready for the day and read just a bit. Then I called Jamie and we met at 75B. We looked for anything that was still dirty and only found window sills (they get dirty overnight). She gave me her hours and I paid her her share. Then she left and the inspectors came. They were satisfied so we signed the documents. I went to Housing to turn in the key.

Then I went to the garden. I watered Kenzie's peas and picked some. I noted that some of my green tomatoes were lying on the ground half eaten. There was a puncture in one of the irrigation lines and I repaired it. There was another one that I couldn't get to because so many mint roots had grown over it.

I went home. I laid tomatoes on the sill to ripen. I made a week's worth of supplements. Chris came home for lunch. He said he would cut up the green tomato and use it tonight. I made and ate breakfast. Then I went out to take down a bunch of gopher mounds in the shady side yard. I baited the traps with peanutbutter like Casey did. Other tunnels got the citrus rind treatment. I also watered down the ones in the sunny side yard.

I read more e-mail and tried to close some windows. I got a call for a cleaning quote and we agreed I could do it after the FRG meeting. I took a break to plant two fists of garlic in the flowerbed.

Chris came home from work while I was playing from Keli's music book. Too many of the songs were in C and required a low B natural. Ugh. Chris cooked the ground beef with onions, the green tomato and spices.

About the time it finished, we had to leave for the FRG meeting at the Community Club. When we got there, Summer had a box of cookies and was asking people to color a flyer or cut up tickets to get one. We discussed the Swap Meet, and Friendsgiving and Polar Express night.

After the meeting there was some discussion, then Chris drove me home. I called Jamie about the quote. Then I took my car to the unit. He showed me around and it was really clean except for a few window sills and the glass in the door. I tried to tell him he could do that himself and pass inspection without paying. But he wanted it done right and not have to worry about it. Jamie showed up, looked around, and then looked at the lawn. We decided on $200 because we are required to 'sanitize' everything. He accepted that figure. We told him what to expect on signover day.

I went home and ate the beef with rice. It was really good. I worked on my blog. We watched two episodes of Taxi. Chris went to bed and I stayed up till after 11.

Back to Dugway

Monday

We got up after 8, hearing the garbage trucks empty the bins below our window.  I got up and checked my phone.  I read messages on the computer.  Chris had leftovers for breakfast.  I made and ate breakfast from the food box.  Then I packed my luggage and food box. Chris' was already packed.  We carried our stuff to the car in two loads, then drove 5 hours to Dugway, stopping twice for a restroom break. We listened to the book on CD the whole way.

When we got home, I saw that my plants had not been watered. While I watered, Chris brought in the luggage and the food box. Some things he put in the fridge. I also took down a large gopher mound, I think it formed because the sprinkler which I left on accidentally (for four days) drowned them out and made them move. Then Chris and I took the 5 gallon water jugs to the shoppette to refill. We also got the mail and dropped Walker Texas Ranger off at the library.

I ate some food from the food box. Michelle came over to apologize for not watering my plants. I assured her that nothing died. I showed her the remains of the gopher mound and we looked at the other side of the yard. I picked some greens and gave them to her. Then we stood talking in the kitchen. I gave her some seed crackers and cheese squares.

After she left, I picked some greens for me and Chris sauteed them in a pan. I put them over rice and they were awful. Tasted burnt.  Anyway, I grabbed some music pages and headed to the chapel for band. Saronna didn't come, but Keli did and we had a good time playing through the hymns and Christmas pieces.

When I got home, I ate some pineapple, then worked on my blog. I made tea and we watched several episodes of Taxi. He went to bed and I stayed up to read articles. Then I listened to a sleep story and pieced puzzles before going to bed.

Moab Utah

Friday

I got up around 7:30. I took supplements and drank water. I read e-mail, then packed the breakfast box. I took some paper and went to the chapel for Math Morning. I checked around the building and didn't find anything out of place. I set up the space and waited. Saronna came with her kids and then Casey arrived. The girls were tired so they didn't do much. Wilhelm was energetic so we had him alternate doing math problems and running around the church. I timed him on his problems 'cause he seems to like the feedback.

At 10 we all packed up. I went to the garden to water and pick. Then I went home. I watered all my plants and dealt with some gopher mounds. I packed the night supplements in the food box. I put some things in my suitcase. I plugged in my phone to recharge. I looked at my last packing list to see what else I might want.

When I was done packing, I made and ate breakfast. That's when Chris came back from the office. I packed a few last things, including stuff from the fridge and filled 6 water bottles. Then we packed up our laptops, and carried everything out to the car.

Soon we were on our way, listening to the book on CD. I fell asleep for an hour or so. When that book ran out, we started another one. But it was weird. I drank the whole way so then I had to stop. But the closest place turned out to be closed. So we kept going.

We got into Moab around 5:30. Chris dropped me off at the front of the hotel and I went in to find the bathroom. I ran into a contingent of Parisians. I understood very little of what they were saying. They were gone by the time Chris arrived to check in. We took stuff to our room and went back for more. We found ourselves in the elevator with a couple and we spoke a little French with them.

After bringing all our luggage to the hotel room, we decided to go out to eat. Someone had recommended a Mexican restaurant but there was no sign of it. So we went to Thai Bella. It was a lovely place. He got curry and I got salmon with veggies. They were both good. He ate all of his and I put my rice and sauce in a take-out box. Then we walked around the little town, stumbling on a little arts and ag market in the park.

It got dark so we walked back to the car and rode back to the hotel. Then he got on his laptop and I got on mine. I worked on my blog.

After reading for some time, I decided to go to the pool and I invited Chris. We put on our suits and walked down the stairs to the pool area. Some people were sitting at a far table, but no one was in the water. We got in the hot tub and it was really nice except for the jets which were constantly on. Later a group of people arrived and most of then got in the hot tub. Then I decided to get in the pool to cool off. Well, almost immediately other people got in the pool. After swimming a bit, it was really a little shallow for that, I got out and we put on our shoes to go up to our room. One of my footies was missing, but I found it later stuck to the leg of my pants.

I suggested we put on a movie, but even with hundreds of channels, there wasn't much to watch. We took a chance on some mystery series, but the commercials made it not worth watching. So I put on some 70's music on my laptop.

And we fell asleep. Well, he did. First my left leg kept me awake, and when it quieted down, my right leg started. I kept getting up to drink and pee. It was after 5 when I finally got to sleep.

Bible study

Thursday

I got up after 7:30. I washed up and got dressed. It was too cold to water, so I checked e-mail and messages. I listened to a podcast on menopause. After getting a text from Ginger, I filled a bottle with water and went to Bible study. No one else came, so we went through two chapters of Matthew and chatted.

I stopped to water Jenni's plants. Her husband was home so we chatted until the pest control people came. Then I checked on the irrigation system for the pear tree and apple tree.

Finally I went home for breakfast and watched The Highwire. I read other stuff after that and watched storm videos.  Awful!  I can't believe how little federal aid they are getting.  Plus, the civilians who are trying to help get threatened with arrest.

I went out to scatter some gopher mounds and put rinds into the tunnels. I texted Michelle and Casey asking them if they could water my home plants and my garden. I spent way too much time finding and saving funny math memes. Then I posted for Math Morning to the three Facebook pages.

Chris came home from work. I picked some greens and he cooked them in bacon fat with some beef. I used up the last of the sweet potato in the soup and ate that for supper. I worked on my blog. I read an e-book on sleep. One of the suggestions was not to have a picture with water in it hanging over your bed. So I took down the seascape and put up a vase of flowers.

I read more, then made tea. We watched the remaining episode of WTR, then one episode of Taxi. Chris went to bed but I continued to read. Then I retired too.

First Communion party

Wednesday

I got up after 7. It was too cold to go out so I prepared for coffee morning. After the whole procedure, I started cleaning the bathrooms. Then it was warm enough to water the plants and take down gopher mounds.

I washed dishes, cleaned the kitchen and mopped the floor. I vacuumed the hallway and other rooms. I emptied the vacuum cups and washed the filter. Then I took a shower and read e-mail.

I went to Housing to make an appt for inspection next week. I tapped with Jamie at 75B, then went to the garden to water and to pick. Finally I went to the library to pick up new DVD's for when we finish WTR.

I went home and read e-mail. I went to the commissary to buy a few extra things in case the longshoreman's strike lasts a while. When I got home, Chris was gone to Mass. He texted that we are invited to a first communion party afterward. I did a few quick chores and he came to pick me up.

We went to house #4. They had big take-out containers of food from Panda Express. It was my fasting day but they encouraged me to take a plate home for tomorrow. The head of the commissary was there and I talked to him quite a bit. He introduced me to his wife who wants to learn to make bread.

We got home before 8:30. I worked on my blog and made tea. Then we watched TV. We thought it was the last episode of Walker Texas Ranger, but then realize we skipped the penultimate one. Chris got ready and went to bed. I stayed to read articles, then got ready for bed.
