Is the swap shop finished?

Tuesday

I got up before 7:30, brushed and got dressed. I took probiotics, made fiber gel, and made vit C water.

I went to 620 to clean: I started the oven, vacuumed the downstairs and mopped. I needed different supplies, like a metal scrubbie and a better vacuum. So I went home. Soon it was time for the fiber gel. I read some e-mail then made and ate breakfast.

I checked my phone and found message from Michele. I called her: she wanted me to take her home to get a hand sewing project and borrow some brown thread - and check on the cat over the weekend. I made and ate the first course of breakfast outside. Then I picked up Michele from work and brought her here to choose the right shade of brown thread, then took her home to get a sewing project, and back to work.

I finished eating breakfast, then went to Saronna's house to play. Randy played with us. I left a bit early to go to a signover at 108. We all signed the contract. I locked up and went to John's house to drop off a dozen eggs. I went to 620 to finish cleaning except for the garage. I texted Jamie to do that. I went to 108 to drop off cleaning supplies and dust the furniture.

I went home and read online till 5, then walked to the post office to get the mail. I saw the swap shop looked finished. I talked to Keli who was doing laundry. I called Emily and left a message asking if the swap shop was finished.

I walked home. I sat outside while eating fiber gel. Then I heated some steak and ate cucumber while waiting. Then I ate the steak. Chris took his suitcase to John and Michele in case they had stuff to add. When he got back, I posted to my blog and made tea. We watched one episode of Longmire. He went to bed, but I stayed up to read.

Planting the peas

Monday

I got up soon after 7. I started getting ready for the day in the kitchen. Chris came home to change for some kind of perimeter tour. I made fiber gel with amendments including vinegar. That completely changed the texture. I checked e-mail. I looked for old e-mails to delete. I called Jamie and asked her to clean the one room apartment. She was delighted to do so.

I started listening to an interview on all things fascia and breathwork. I did the arm and shoulder exercise routine. I drank half of the fiber gel. It had a weird flavor with the ACV. I started making breakfast. Michelle called and we talked for a bit, then she had to go.

I finished breakfast and ate it while continuing to listen to the fascia interview. I headed to the apartment to pick up the linens. Saronna called from Joanns to ask what kind of stabilizer she should buy to keep on hand for sewing class. I picked up the linens and brought them home. I continued listening until Jamie came over. I gave her the money from the last house, and the key to the apartment. She also took the bulbs that I was supposed to plant, thrilled to have them.

I resumed listening. Then I went to ACS to drop off the linens and Jenni's art picture. I talked about having massage people come to Dugway. I went to the library to get some books and the next season of Longmire. Then I went home. I sat outside for awhile and read a book. I walked to the post office to get mail and came home with two boxes. I opened the boxes and put the stuff away. I listened to more of the interview.

The inspectors called to say a man almost passed inspection and could I come by and quote to finish up? I already had a contract and envelop on my clipboard, so I just grabbed it and headed over. I passed the garden which looked remarkably different without the fence. I pulled up at 620. Bobby showed me through the house, pointing at window sills, floors and the oven. I quoted him $60 and he went to get cash. I filled out the contract and he came back and signed. I locked up the house and we all left.

On my way home, I went up to the garden and made sure my hose was completely within the limits of my garden. Then, driving down the street, I saw a magnetic sheet. It must have fallen off my car on the way over. It was soaked.

When I got home, I looked up a recipe for seed starting mix. I mixed up two batches and filled my trays. Then I used some compost to plant peas in the wooden planter and a strawberry in a pot. I went inside and had some cheese squares. Chris came home from work.

I went to the chapel for band. Everyone came but Jenni. We played through the hymns and several Broadway tunes. Keli brought 4 dozen eggs and we each took some. The kids packed up their toys and turned out the lights. Then we all went home.

I finished some videos from earlier in the day. I brought the young tomato plants inside. I worked on my blog. I made tea and we watched the next season of Longmire. Then, since it was only 9:30, I finished my tea and checked e-mail.

I read too long and went to bed after 11.

Digging bulbs on a Sunday morning

Sunday

We got up around 8. I took probiotics and a fiber capsule. I read messages for awhile, then took the rest of the supplements. I whipped up a batch of cheese squares. Chris cooked some bacon in the oven, but it wasn't ready in time. I threw some in the cheese squares and put them in the oven. I also put some eggs in the steamer and made an ice bath. I peeled the eggs from a few days ago.

Then I went to the garden to help Jenni plant the bulbs we dug up. She wasn't there yet, so I turned on the water at the central pump. It didn't come out at my garden, but I found it coming out further down the line. I shut those off and then I got some water, not much. I hooked up the hose but it hardly came out the other end.

Jenni arrived with the bulbs. Bags of them. I dug trenches and she put them in and covered them. It was windy and chilly. When we got down to the last two bags, I said we should take them home and put them in pots for the summer. She agreed. We tried to get the nozzle off of the hose, but it was firmly stuck. I whacked it on a board till most of the pieces came off. More water came out but still no pressure. When we left, I shut the water off at the central location.

I went home to find the cheese squares out and looking dark. Chris had decided they didn't look done so he gave them more time. Sigh. But he did have the eggs in the ice bath. I ate the remaining fiber gel from yesterday. I read e-mail for bit, then made and ate breakfast. Rachel texted Steve and me about bringing a truckload of manure next Saturday. I got dressed and put some of the cheese squares in a container. Rachel texted me that her husband would bring a load of manure next Saturday at 11:30.

I took my trombone and went to church. I left the snack in the back and assembled my trombone up front. I warmed up a little and talked to Butch. Then the service started with praise music. The cpl gave the sermon. Then the band played two hymns. Afterward, I talked to Todd and Melanie. I told Jenni about the manure. I collected the cheese squares that were left (not many). We all went home.

I changed my clothes and finished the pistachios that I was eating before. I put the eggs away and steamed another 7 eggs. I looked at possible Mother's Day crafts online. I sat outside in the grass and read a book. Then I came in to put the eggs in an ice bath. Chris came in with John. He gave John some of the meat leftover from Friday. He took John home.

When he got back, Chris signed into the game. I finished a sewing video and signed in. We ended in the middle of a fight with hobgoblins last time so we started up in the middle and finished the fight. They surrendered. We divided up the spoils of war and let them go. We ended at 8.

I made tea and we watched the last episode of Longmire. We read on our laptops, then went to bed.

Long day of shopping

Saturday

I got up after 8. I got ready for the day and watched a walkthru on Youtube to see how the puzzles of Dr. Brain were supposed to be solved. It was enlightening. I still don't know how I got through them without knowing exactly what I was doing.

I asked Chris for a massage and he gave me one. Then he took his shower and I took mine. I ate half of the fiber gel, got dressed, then made and ate breakfast. Jenni said she was coming over at 1 to pick me up. But I had some onions and a tomato plant for her so I went over to her house. I gave her the tomato and some of the onions. Then we got in her car and went to Tooele.

First we went to Melanie's. She was having a give-away event and spa day. We had already paid online. Jenni chatted with a supplement rep while I went in and got a card with the activities on it. I went in the back for a foot soak. The lady put a foot bomb in it which had clay and essential oils. Later Jenni came in for hers and we chatted.

Melanie asked if I was almost ready for the foot zoning, so I wiped off my feet and put on my shoes. I waited for a bit, then she directed me to the Bach Flower remedies table instead. So I filled out that sheet and that lady made me a bottle of drops. Then I waited again for a footzone session. Jenni went for the hand massage. Later she said it hurt. Well, the foot zone hurt as well. Then I waited for the hand massage. Jenni was right. He used a lot of pressure. I invited him and the other massage person to come to Dugway sometime to do a similar event.

When we were all done, we went to Jenni's car with our purchases. We walked to Joanns and shopped there. Jenni went up and down every aisle. I got one piece of fabric that was 60% off and some plain grosgrain ribbon.

We went to Home Depot and looked at plants for some time, choosing wisely I hope. Then we went to Luckeys so she could get zucchini. After that, we went to Arby's where she picked up dinner for her and her husband. Finally we went back to Dugway.

We got back around 7:45 and it was getting dusky. She dropped the plants at my house. Chris had ribs waiting for me. I ate them quickly, then went to the garden to dig up bulbs and edging. After a few minutes, Jenni came and she started bagging the bulbs. Then Eryne came with her daughter and they dug up edging and piled it by the sheds. By the time we finished and went home, it was 9pm. I made tea and we watched one episode of Longmire. Then we dressed the bed. I worked on my blog and read some e-mail. Then I was ready for bed.

The garden event

Friday

I got up around 7:30. I got ready for the day and checked e-mail.

I went to the garden to set up tables and clean the tops. Then I went to Math Morning. Saronna texted me the math sheets since they would not print out. Moira and Sophia came. I helped Moira with the math sheets.

They left at 9:30. I went to the garden in case the agent came early. I talked to Gary who was setting up his grill and had ribs on a high shelf. I decided not to use the tablecloths since most of them were cloth. Trevor came, then the extension agent arrived. Still not the crowd I was expecting. Chris came by to say hi to the agent, then left to check on the ice cream maker.

I showed the agent my garden. Eryne and Trevor joined. I asked about what variety of fruit tree to buy and he didn't have one to recommend or even a particular place to buy one. We discussed Ph (7.5) and mulch and organic matter.

We got pruning clippers from the shed. He showed us how to prune the peach trees, pretty severely. And then we did the apple trees. He told me to prune one of the largest branches. I really struggled. I wasn't sure whether to be upset that I might have hurt myself, or happy that no one was treating me like an old lady.

We broke for lunch. Gary had burgers, hotdogs and chicken legs ready. Because few people showed, we only had chips and banana bread for side dishes. Chris brought the rum raisin ice cream that he made this morning. I texted John and Michele to come over for lunch. Some teenager came by asking what was going on. I told him and invited him to lunch. He ran to the commissary and came back to eat. I don't know if he brought anything.

The agent had brought an apple tree from Home Depot. He showed us how to plant it. Just as Eryne was asking if it was a good idea to transplant it and prune it at the same time – snip! I guess so. He also had tomato plants and explained how to plant them, but did not plant them because it is too early. I gave one to Janet and to Erynne. I saved one for Jenni who was subbing today. He also gave us onions to plant. I handed out some of those as well as tomato pamphlets and business cards.

After he left, we packed up. There were tools to go back in the shed, but I couldn't read the numbers on the lock. One of the kids had to do it for me. Then the wind started blowing hard, which made packing more difficult.

Chris was already home when I got there. I made a grocery list and we went to the commissary, his office, and the AAFES store. We stopped by the post office and I picked up the mail, which was two boxes of supplements.

I went outside barefoot and read in the sun, and then in the shade. I got burnt, but I finished the book. Chris left for his game night. I made more breakfast mix and spice mix. I made and ate breakfast while listening to Mike Adams. I worked on my blog. I got ready for game night.

I went to Casey's house and gave him a baggie with chocolates and a leaf of radish, all for Michelle. Isadora was there with Sophia. I talked to Casey for a bit, then called up the game The Island of Dr. Brain. I played through several puzzles, some of which I did not understand, but got through anyway.

I had just broken through to the next puzzle room, when I realized it was after 11. I saved the game and shut it down. I thanked Casey and went home. Chris was still up. We talked shortly, then went to bed.

Questions for the extension agent

Thursday

I got up before 8. I took probiotics and some vitamin C. It was raining so I rushed out to make sure my car windows were up. They were. I read some messages, then got dressed. I went to the chapel to open it for Bible Study. I looked for lights left on and turned them off.

The ladies arrived as I was cleaning wrappers out from under the cushions of the couches by the front door. We chatted for some time. Then Ginger led us in reading the Bible. We had a lot more sharing, and then she prayed. We went home.

I looked for an embroidery project for Mother's Day, but didn't find one. I read some e-mail, then realized I hadn't taken my morning supplements. I also made fiber gel. I ate half and read some e-mail, then I watched The Highwire as I made and ate breakfast.

I went to a sign-over at 2. I picked up the money and key. I went by the gym to see about the tables and they said there were two folding tables between the sheds. I went to the garden to see the tables, then to the library to return one book and renew another.

When I got home, I finished The Highwire, then put on a bathing suit and sat out in the sun. Then I did some mending in my sewing room. Mostly pants. It rained again. I went back to my computer to read. I ate fiber gel. Chris came home with a pizza. I heated up steak and made a carrot salad. I ate and read messages. Jenni came by to walk. We walked the same path as yesterday.

After the walk, I worked on my blog. I made tea and turned on the TV. I played through a song, and then Chris sat down and we watched one episode of Longmire. I went to my computer to write a list of questions for the extension agent. Chris went to bed and so did I when I finished my list.

Mailing the car title

Wednesday

I got up about 7:30. I prepared for coffee morning. As I was meditating, Chris came home to change into jeans. He asked for sunscreen, made a sandwich and left. After I finished meditating and tapping, I cleaned the bathrooms and kitchen. I washed dishes. I mopped the floor, then took a shower. I scrubbed the shower walls. I scrubbed the kitchen sink. I vacuumed the den and livingroom and bedroom.

I read outside and finished the book. I put the car title in an envelop and went to the post office to mail it. Faye had said registered mail, but they talked me into certified mail.

From there I went to the chapel. I opened the door and let myself in. Later Chris arrived. Still later the chaplain came. We sat in his office and talked until the priest came for Mass.

I went by the Community Club to pick up my Peeps entry, then I went home. I started reading online when Jenni texted that she wanted to go walking. She came over and we walked around the block and to the connex. I showed her the inside. Jamie had moved some stuff in. Jenni found something she wanted and she had to carry it all the way back to my house.

We talked outside for a bit, but it got cold. So I went in and she left. Chris was already home. I did Sudoku while listening to a boring interview on ancient humans. When I realized how late it was, I shut it off and made tea. We watched one episode of Longmire. Then we read at our laptops for awhile and went to bed.

Earth Day

Tuesday

I got up before 7:30, having been awake for some time. I got ready for the day. I took probiotics, read some messages, then took the vitamin C water, etc. I watched gardening videos. I parsed out a week's worth of supplements and noted those that were low. Michelle messaged me on Facebook so we 'chatted'. I found two dozen eggs on my porch. I watched the video that my online practitioner made for me and peeled eggs from the last batch.

At 10:30 I ate half of the fiber gel. I watched more of the video, stopping as necessary to jot notes. It was after 11 when I made and ate breakfast.

I had just finished when Chris came by to pick me up. He had Michele in the car. I got in and he drove us to the garden. We parked across the street. There were several canopies set up with live and dead wildlife. There was a golden eagle tethered. And two tarantulas. Then a man got out a rattlesnake and talked about them. He tubed the snake, then gave people a chance to touch it. Michele declined. John walked over. They had some hotdogs while I talked to Clark.

I showed Michele my garden. Nate Long talked to me about planting fruit trees. Trevor asked me about gardening too. Gary told me the contractors would be starting on the fence on Monday, so if we wanted to save the bulbs, we had to dig them up over the weekend. I picked up some plants, a flax and a yarrow. Then Chris took me home before returning Michele and going back to work.

I ate some nuts and dates. Then picked up my trombone and went to Saronna's house. We and I talked, then played through the hymns. And talked some more. Her kids came home from school.

I went to the garden to water my plot since Gary said the water was on. But sadly, it was not. Then I went home. It was such a beautiful day that I sat on the lawn and read a book til 6. I came inside and ate the other half of the fiber gel. I worked on comparing prices on supplements to replace the ones running out.

Chris came home from work. He cooked steaks in the oven. I finished my supplement orders. I ate part of a steak. Jenni came over to walk. We walked around the block, and to the post office and back. Then we talked by her car.

After she went home, I worked on my blog. I made tea. We watched one episode of Longmire. Chris went to bed. I stayed up to read online, then retired at 11 ish.

Happy Easter

Sunday

I got up around 8. I got ready for the day and made fiber gel. I started reading. Chris went to an egg hunt on Mustang while I tried to make cinnamon jello eggs. I used hibiscus tea to make them red, but it didn't cover the brown from the beef gelatin. So I had to use beet juice. While they set up, I tried to read outside but it was too cold.

Around noon, I made and ate breakfast. The jello eggs came out in halves, so I sliced them up. I put chocolates and the egg slices in containers and took them to the chapel. Chris drove us. I dropped the food off on the back table, then went up front to get my trombone assembled. While Keli and Bryce practiced the praise music, I warmed up in the fellowship hall.

The service started with the praise music. Then the kids did a little program with Mary seeing angels at the tomb, and then singing a song and waving hoops. Then the chaplain gave his Easter sermon. The scripture said that the napkin that was on Jesus' head was found folded. Back in the day, folding your napkin meant you were coming back. After the sermon, we played two hymns and the chaplain said a prayer.

The kids opened the containers and started snacking. Jenni brought girl scout cookies, so they didn't eat all my chocolates. The CSM came up and shook our hands, making kind remarks about our music. I talked to a few people. Then I gathered the chocolates and jello egg pieces and walked out with Chris.

It was almost 3 when we got home. I read online for a bit, then read a book outside, barefoot. When I came inside, Chris had baked mushrooms. I heated some ground beef and onions to go with them. Then game started at 5. I mostly pieced puzzles and did Sudoku during the game.

After the game, we chatted, then I worked on my blog., then we watched one episode of Longmire. Later Chris went to bed. I stayed up too late doing puzzles while listening to a comedy routine. Then I went to bed.

Busy day of event planning

Monday

I got up before 8. I got ready for the day. I took supplements and probiotics and vit C water. I checked e-mail and social media.

I went to 610 to make sure it was clean. Then the inspectors came. I asked Collie about the swap shop. He said they were working on it now. That it was low priority but got raised to the top. I took Jamie over there and we looked at the connex – it was really nice, like an empty hotel room. Then we looked in the small room across the hall. I picked up my mail.

Michele called to ask me to pick her up from work at lunchtime. I went home, took fiber gel, and read some more. At noon, I picked her up and drove her home. Then I went home to make breakfast. Chris came home and got meat out to thaw. I gave him cash for Gary to buy meat for the garden event. I ate breakfast. I e-mailed Jack and he invited me to a meeting at 4:30. Nate called to talk about planting fruit trees in the garden.

I read more messages. I figured out how much money each of us gets for cleaning at 610. I chose two hymns for Sunday and printed one out. I ironed the facing on my blue dress and hung it in the closet. I did a gathering stitch on one footie to tighten it, but when I wore it, it still came off my heel. I finished the Sudoku puzzle. I drove to the library for eggs and took them home. I read outside for a bit, then went to Housing to return the key to 610, then to Jack's office to talk about watering the fruit trees from house #2. He wants to ask the extension agent about grafting.

He printed out three flyers for the garden event. I put one in the magnetic sleeve on my car. I called Revonna to advertise the event and she needed a flyer, so I drove over there and took her one. We talked about that and other things. I talked to Chris to verify the rum raisin ice cream for the event.

I went home to make an announcement for the garden event on Facebook. Jenni called so that she and I could sign up for the spa day at Melanies. I put food in the toaster oven. John and Michele came over for rum raisin ice cream. John brought his Nintendo expecting me to play. I ate and got ready for band.

I went to the chapel and unlocked the door. I walked around looking to see that all was in order, then I sat and meditated in the front row. Jenni came in, but stayed in the back. Finally I walked back there and we talked. Then Keli came. So we played through hymns and songs for half an hour. Afterward, Jenni gave Keli a bag of stuffed toys to hand out at the library.

We each went home. Michele, John and Chris were watching Labyrinth. I worked online. Faye messaged me that she found a buyer for the Olds. I worked on my blog and made tea. We watched an episode of Longmire. Chris went to bed because he had to get up early. I read till 11, then joined him.

A blast from the past

Saturday

I got up after 8:30. I got ready for the day. I checked e-mail. Chris gave me a massage, then took his shower. I made fiber gel, read for a bit, then ate it. I made and ate breakfast. I tried to eat it in the sun but it was too cold. So I read inside until the last minute. Then I put sewing items together and went to the chapel. I got there just as Crystal and her daughters did. She had sewing experience so she helped the kids sew while I was busy cutting strips for the bunny bags. Six kids made a bag and all were very happy. After everyone left, I vacuumed the sewing storage room.

I went home. I read articles and memes. I watched highlights of Whose Line is it Anyways. I tried to read outside again but it was too cold. Chris heated up leftovers for me. I ate and went back to the chapel.

I unlocked the doors and went in. Sophia arrived first. Then came Michele. Jenni came and needed help shortening a dress and cutting off the sleeves. She tried on the dress and I pinned it.

At 7:15 I took Sophia in the sanctuary to work on rhythms. We started packing up at 7:45. But then Cedric came in and seemed mildly interested, so we continued. He seemed to understand quarter notes vs 8th notes. Casey came in to say Jenni needed help.

So we packed up and I went to help her, but she was doing ok on her third machine. I fixed the first two. Then Casey had the wall TV hooked to his Atari emulator. He also had Mario on there so I started playing that. Playing Mario was like turning the clock back decades.

Later they all packed up and went home. I stayed to pack up all the machines and fabric and sewing supplies. Then I locked up and went home. I made tea and we watched one episode of Longmire. I checked all the MWR posts in case there was an egg hunt for tomorrow. Then I helped Chris fold laundry and we made the bed.

He went to bed. I read some more, then worked on my blog and went to bed as well.

Council of Indian Nations

Friday

Chris woke me up at 6:30. I brushed my teeth, took supplements, and packed supplements. I obsessed over what to wear, then put on jeans and a t-shirt. I packed sturdy shoes and filled a large water bottle. I made a grocery list, worked on my blog, and packed some nuts.

We got in Chris' car and stopped at the post office to unlock the swap shop. Then we headed to Tooele Army Depot. We met the others in The Eagle's Nest. I went to the restroom, then sat while people filed in and talked. Finally a guy told us that we won't have a bathroom where we are going and to go now. So I got in line. It went slowly because they said one toilet was plugged. When I got in, the one I used had a plunger. So I went after the plugged one. But a simple push and hold of the handle flushed it.

Then we all loaded ourselves into 6 trucks. It was windy and cold. We drove to a site to see petroglyphs. There was a cage around the rock so it was hard to get pics of it. We looked around the site and saw strange trees and a pit. Then we headed in another direction for some time and came to the remains of a mound house. Apparently there were a lot in the area. Some had been excavated to reveal human remains, but most were untouched.

We went back to The Eagle's Nest for a boxed lunch. Chris requested a vegetarian meal because he doesn't eat meat on Good Friday. After lunch, we went to an old grave yard on a plateau. The grave in the middle was marked, but most of the others had been found by ground penetrating radar, which didn't tell them much. The guy in charge had gone through a list of deaths in the area and graves in nearby sites, to make a list of dead people without graves that might be buried here. Some could be Native American.

Then we went to see the remains of an old homestead and the nearby pond. They stocked it with a fish was was going extinct: least chub. Very small fish. Then we went back to The Eagle's Nest to disembark from the trucks.

We got in Chris' car and went to Tooele. I got my hair cut while Chris shopped at Macey's. Then we stopped at Melanies and went back to base. I nearly fell asleep. We shopped at the commissary and went home to unload groceries. Then we went to fill 5gallon jugs with water. But we only got two because the card reader messed up. I took the chance to lock the swap shop.

I read e-mail while Chris made his supper. Then I made my usual breakfast. I posted for Project Night. I messaged Steve about having transportation for manure for the garden. I looked up hints for Kings Quest II. I washed and ate grapes. I hardboiled 14 eggs.

I prepared for Game Night and posted to my blog. I went over to Michelle's house. Casey had the Indiana Jones game up. I took some time to figure out how to avoid getting killed by the machine. And then, after a 6 minute video clip, the game was over. Casey brought up the list of choices and I picked The Island of Dr. Brain. It was full of puzzles he said. He called Michelle because she played it a lot. She talked me through some of it and we discussed other things. Then she hung up. I continued to play until I got surprised by the time: 11:20! I saved the game and quit it. I said goodbye to Casey and went home. Chris was already in bed. I got ready and went to bed.

The Great Shakeout

Thursday

I got up around 8. I took supplements and got dressed. I checked e-mail, then headed to the chapel to open it. I got there just as Anka did with her kids. Then the Great Shakeout commenced. The giant voice gave instructions but we couldn't make them out. We saw all the kids at the school line up and proceed single file to the gym. We just stood and watched till the other ladies arrived. Then we had Bible Study.

When it was over, I went home and checked e-mail. I quit a little early to take my notes and go to HQ. I stopped by the bathroom. Revonna said Brian was on a call, but he finished shortly and stepped out. When he got back, I went into his office and we discussed everything on my sheet: garden, swap shop, irrigation. I made notes and he sent e-mails.

When we were done, I left and talked to Revonna who offered to help advertise the garden event next week. Then I went to Emily's office with the markers and a short chat. I stopped at Gary's office to discuss grilling for the event. I went by the swap shop to unlock it for Revonna on the way home.

I made and ate breakfast while watching The Highwire. I made more breakfast mix. Later I went to the gym. I talked to Clark and Tom and Steve about the garden event tomorrow and getting manure. Shannon came by with Mrs. Sansum, wife of the new (in July) commander. Later I went to Housing to schedule an inspection for Monday.

I went home to read. I ate some cashews and finished the sewing project and posted it on the community Facebook pages. I went to Community Game Night. We played Uno and then Apples to Apples. When I got home, Chris had just gotten home. I jotted notes for my blog. I made tea and we watched the second episode of Longmire. Then he went to bed and I stayed up till 11. I was able to do the full round of yoga stretches before bed.

Jenni's new (to her) car

Wednesday

I got up before Reveille to use the bathroom. Then I stayed in bed until after Chris left for work. My hand still hurt to use in certain positions. It slowed me down in preparing for coffee morning. I got through most of the exercises. All the tapping was with my left hand, which started to complain. Afterward, I had to be careful as I cleaned the bathrooms and kitchen. There were a few owwies as I made some mistakes.

Chris came home as I attempted to vacuum. I told him about my wrist. He asked if I wanted to see a doctor, but I didn't want to drive all the way to Tooele just to find out I should alternate heat and cold. After he left, I put on a wrist brace and that helped a lot, although it got wet as I washed dishes. I did more vacuuming. I took it off to take a shower. I rubbed my wrist with DMSO, then laid out in the sun till it dried. Then I came in and put on regular clothes and the wrist brace. I jotted notes for my blog. I called Revonna and we got me on Brian's schedule for tomorrow. I made notes on a piece of paper so I would remember what to say. We also talked about the earthquake drill tomorrow. Not sure what it entails. I did Sudoku while listening to a podcast on pedophiles in foreign aid agencies.

I called Jenni to come over and get some of the stuff Deb gave me. She was all excited about getting a new (to her) car. So she came over. She gave me the markers that she hadn't dropped off with Emily. She looked through the fabric and took some. Then we went out to see her car and all the bells and whistles.

I chose a bunny bag pattern. Then I had to choose two fabrics to make it out of. (The making goes faster than the choosing.) I started cutting with a rotary ruler but my wrist didn't like that. So I drew with a pen and cut with scissors.

I took a break to jot notes and post to my blog. Chris was still gone to the commander's reception. I read articles until he got home. I made tea and we watched one episode of Longmire. Then he went to bed and I stayed up a little later. I decided not to wear the wrist brace to bed. I skipped some of my yogo poses, and went to bed.

Teal Tuesday

Tuesday

I got up around 7:30. I brushed and took a probiotic, then set the timer before taking the rest of the supplements. I put papaya seeds in the dehydrator. I cleaned up in the kitchen and read e-mail. Emily messaged me that she needed the markers back and I couldn't remember getting any markers.

Chris came home at 9:30 to get some teal shirts. I had just put on an old one and he said they were taking pictures with teal ribbons at 10:30. So I put on a better teal shirt. Keli texted that she had eggs for me. I took some empty egg cartons to the library and traded them for the eggs. Then I went looking for the markers in the room across the hall. I did not find them. But I finally got in touch with Jenni and she said she had them and could return them tomorrow. So I told all this to Emily.

We walked over to the Parade Field for the photo. Teal balloons were handed out. Michele came and Chris handed her a shirt. We all lined up in the shape of a ribbon with the ends crossed. Someone went up in the bucket of the firetruck to take our picture. Then we handed in our balloons. I walked back with Michele. She went to the clinic and I went to my car and drove home, stopping at the post office for mail.

I read messages and drank half of the fiber gel. I watched a video talking about the human experiments that Pavlov and his crew did on orphan children. Later I made and ate breakfast. I put on a bathing suit and read outside in the sun. Then I went to Saronna's house to practice music. Her husband joined in on “Tomorrow”.

When I got home, I went back to reading. At 5 I signed into Zoom for the RCMQG meeting. Before it was over, Michele came over. She and Chris called Al to discuss the Olds and getting a new washer/dryer unit for her combo. She also wanted more rum raisin ice cream. I called William and asked if he could sell the Olds. He said he knew someone who might be interested.

Michele went home. We finished watching Above Suspicion. I put the DVD by my purse to go back to the library. That was before 10, so Chris played on his laptop for awhile before going to bed. I stayed up even later, with an ice pack on my right hand which started hurting whenever I tried to grab anything. I had to brush my teeth with my left hand, which felt odd and cumbersome. I did a slightly modified version of my yoga stretches, then went to bed.

Crafting with Peeps

Monday

I got up just as Chris was leaving. I got ready for the day. I made up a week's worth of supplements. Then I put to work on a peep diorama. I got a small box and put down some green fabric. I cut up three or 4 peeps into small pieces. I shook them in a bag with ground cacao powder and charcoal. I piled them like a gopher mound. I took a peep and replaced his bunny ears with gopher ears. I had to work hard to come up with gopher teeth. I used pipecleaners for arm and molded a piece of peep into a carrot shape and colored it with turmeric. I printed out in large letters “Ehh, what's up Doc?”

I took a pic and sent it to Michelle. Then I checked e-mail. It occurred to me that it should say Peep instead of Doc. So I printed out Peep and glued it over Doc. Then I decided that it needed an Elmer Fudd. So I called up a drawing and printed it out. I cut off the cap and stuck it on a remaining peep. I also cut out the gun and pinned that to the peep. I printed out in small letters “Shh. Be vewy vewy quiet. I'm hunting gofers”

I added it to the box and took another picture. I made and ate breakfast. I read e-mail. I went cleaning for half an hour. I went home to get my phone. Isadora had texted so I texted back. I asked her to deliver my diorama and she said she wanted to make one too. So I dropped mine off at her house and went back to cleaning. I was there more than an hour, but only because people kept interrupting me with texts.

Jamie wanted to finish the house herself so I packed up all my cleaning supplies and went home. Isadora sent me a video of what she made: an octopus made of clay driving peeps. Creative! I had a chance to read e-mail and relax. Chris came home from work.

I took my trombone to band. We played through a bunch of hymns. Isodora came by to ask me if it was alright that she put Cedric's name on my project because I wanted to be anonymous. I said yes. She left and we finished by playing some Broadway pieces.

I went home. I ate some of the beef and potato mix that Chris made. I read some messages, then worked on my blog. We watched another installment of Above Suspicion. Later Chris went to bed. I stayed up to read, then went to bed around 11.

Rum Raisin ice cream

Sunday

I got up at 8, not having slept well at all. Between RLS that wouldn't quit and the howling of the wind (still going at 8am), I spent a lot of time trying to get to sleep. I got up to start my day with amended water. I worked on clearing e-mail.

I listened to several podcasts. I tried to make cheese from coconut cream but it didn't work. I let it cool, then put a probiotic in it to ferment. I made and ate breakfast, then got dressed for church.

I took cheese squares to church. I assembled my trombone. I played through When the Saints with Keli. I gave the bag of left behind stuff to Janet and she picked a few things. I gave the rest to Anca, but the only thing she wanted turned out to be 11 years expired.

Then the band gathered up front. Keli announced how the palm procession would go. We played When The Saints Go Marching In while the people processed in with the plastic palm fronds. Afterward, we sang our three praise songs. Then the chaplain talked about palm fronds and Holy week. After that, the band played our two hymns.

After the service, Keli approached me about picking hymns she knew for Easter. I was surprised that she didn't know what I consider the good ole hymns. Anyway, we decided on He Arose and The Old Rugged Cross for next week. Then I offered the last item from the bag to Saronna and she agreed to try it. I talked to Rick at length about having a pixie as an aid.

On the way home, I stopped at the swap shop to see the fan that Keli had asked about. But it was labeled “Property of swap shop”. When I got home, I changed clothes. I got the Easter music ready for band tomorrow. Chris started making rum raisin ice cream. I texted Keli to say that she could have one of my fans.

I sat outside and read a book. Keli and her husband came by to pick up the wheelbarrow and the fan. We chatted a bit before they left. I went back to reading, then came in as the temp dropped.

John and Michele came over for rum raisin ice cream. John peeled my hard boiled eggs and put them in the pickling brine. They stayed to play a side game of DND that Chris thought up since James and Becca were busy. We played as our animal companions and helped a little girl find her cat. I also watered all the plants.

After they left, I made tea. Chris and I watched the first part of the second case of Above Suspicion. Then I worked on my blog.

Hopefully the data is gone

Saturday

I got up after 8. I made fiber gel and turned my phone back on. For some reason, my wired internet connection was working again. But the lost tabs were not to be found. And I couldn't remember most of them. I found the Indiana Jones one and watched it long enough to go through what I had done last night. Seems like I was only minutes from the end.

Chris gave me a coconut oil massage, then took a shower. After he was dressed and gone, I got up to take my shower. I sat outside in the sun for a bit. I drank fiber gel, and made breakfast. I ate while reading, then spent a few minutes outside. I continued reading. I downloaded data from 23andme and then deleted it from the site.

I walked to the post office to get the mail. I went to the garden. I raked all the hay and leaves from the garden path and onto my garden, getting detritus in my shoes. Then I went to 610.

I used a wrench to unscrew a part from the kitchen faucet. I cleaned for an hour. I put the faucet filter and faucet piece in a bag and hung it on Michele's door. I went home and messaged her about it. I ate the last of the fiber gel and drank ice water to cool off. I ate supper and read articles on the internet. I read outside in bare feet. I came in and listened to part of a podcast. I made cheese squares using fresh onion tops. I also made a carrot salad and ate it. I worked on my blog. I jotted down community hours and cleaning hours for today.

I made tea and we watched the rest of the first case of Above Suspicion that we watched Thursday night. It was interesting, but gory. I'm glad there is only one season of it. Then we both stayed up to read on our laptops. I went to bed around 11. But it was not a good night.

Sharing with her neighbors

Friday

I got up before 8. I got ready for the day. I texted Casey. I found some blank paper and went to the chapel for Math Morning. I unlocked the doors and turned on the lights. But no one came. Casey and I talked. I texted Saronna and they were having a rushed morning.

At 10, I went home, then to the swap shop to pick up some requested items. I went to 610 and brought in the trash and recycling bins. I delivered the swap shop items to the lady next door. I cleaned, and got interrupted. A lady came for boxes, then Gary came over and I asked him about grilling at the garden. Then Michele's neighbor came over looking for a bookcase.

I went home for breakfast, ate partly outside in the sun. Later I added to the shopping list. We went to the commissary for what they had. They did not have Peeps. We came home to unload, then went to Tooele. We shopped at Luckeys and Melanies. Her shelves looking bare. Then we went back to the base listening to book on CD. I did not fall asleep.

I had a bite to eat, then went to 610 to clean for an hour. Kids nearby were having a lemonade stand and selling cookies and muffins. They came over to ask me to buy something. I just gave them money since everything they had contained sugar. I moved all the stuff in the house that I didn't want to the garage. Then I invited their parents to come look through it. I called Janet but she didn't answer. John came over to get the rolling unit for Michele. I finished cleaning the windows in the door and the sliding glass door tracks and went home. Janet called back, so I told her the garage code and to go look.

I went home and made supper. My wired internet stopped working while I was listening to a podcast on Netanyahu. Chris said I needed to reboot or switch to wifi. I rebooted.

Erynne texted that she could help plant the bulbs tonight. There wasn't a lot of daylight left, so I left supper in the toaster oven and went to the garden. I got a rake and a shovel from the shed. She arrived with a shovel. We raked back the hay on my garden and made a row to plant the bulbs and tubers in. But it wasn't enough so we made another row. I showed her where the rest of the bulbs were planted and found more that had already been dug up. So we made part of a third row and planted those. The water hasn't been turned on yet so we just put some hay over them to hold the moisture in. Then we talked about greenhouses heated by compost.

By the time I got home, it was 8:30. I texted Casey that I would be late. I ate supper and filled a bottle with tea. My computer still wasn't talking to the internet so no hints. I got there about 9. Both kids were still up.

I played the game, driving the big hulking machine, then navigating tunnels, and finally the lava flow. However, I got stuck in the colossus. I tried to look up hints with my phone but all I could see were instructions to pay attention to the background. I stared at the screen for a long time. I wanted to go home but Casey said I had to stay since I came late. Finally one hint said the background was in the lava maze. I had to cross the lava patch again, then found it. I wrote the hint down, then reloaded the game so I wouldn't have to cross the lava field again. But after using the hint (which worked), some Nazi's came and it led to Indy's death.

I exited the game. It was well after 11. We chatted just a bit more, then I went home to find Chris was still up. I jotted notes for my blog and posted for yesterday. I noticed that all my Waterfox tabs had closed. I tried to get them back, then went to bed.

** Yes, I fact-checked this meme and that phrase IS in the Federal Register. **

Shirt-sharing

Thursday

I got up around 7:30. I got dressed and made fiber gel. I checked e-mail. I went to Bible Study at the chapel. We read passages in Luke. Janet said she didn't have a teal shirt for Teal Tuesdays in April. So when we finished, I went home to get a teal shirt and put it in a bag. Then I drove to 610. I hung the bag on Janet's door. I started cleaning. John joined in 45 minutes later. I had him clean fans and door tops and the back window.

I went home for breakfast and to watch The Highwire. I sat and read in the sun using the long headphones. After The Highwire was over, I went back to cleaning. John joined in again. I had to leave before 5 for an apartment quote. Jamie met me there, but the lady wasn't home. Jamie left. I waited for the lady. When she came, we chatted and I looked through her apartment. I promised to text her the quote. I went home to look at comparable apartments.

After the quote, I went home and ate fiber gel. I made supper. I listened to the praise song that Keli picked for Sunday. I wrote to MacKenzie about the garden and fruit trees. I listened to interviews, then read a book for awhile. It wasn't great. I played Solitaire and worked on my blog. I texted her a quote of $300.

I made tea and we watched an episode of some detective show that was pretty gory. Then Chris went to bed and I stayed up later to read.

Dispersing items from 610

Wednesday

I got up around 7. I prepared for coffee morning with coffee, targeted exercises, and supplements. I meditated and tapped. Then I cleaned the bathrooms and kitchen. I washed dishes and mopped the floor. I vacuumed the carpeted areas. I took a shower and laid in the sun for a short time to start my yearly tan.

I went to the library to return one book and check out the sequel, but they didn't have it. I went to 610 to meet Saronna. But she was a few minutes late, so I went by the garden to pick up the tubers that we dug. Then I went back to 610. Saronna arrived with two kids. She boxed the food while they played outside.

Revonna texted me, so after Saronna left, I went to HQ. Revonna and I talked for a long time. I wanted an appointment with Brian, but she said he wasn't coming in tomorrow. We looked at furniture for the swap shop. She gave me some pocky for Michele. Then she turned off the lights and locked the building. We talked some more, then I ran off to make a quote. The man had only a small room, so I quoted him $120. He countered with $150 which threw me for a loop, then I accepted.

I went home and texted Saronna. She was ready to go, so I went to 610 with Chris. We met Randy and Saronna there. Then the two men brought the three bookcases downstairs. Randy and Saronna decided to take all three of them. It took several loads for the men to transport the cases to their house. When everyone was gone, Chris and I went home to find Michele and John waiting in our living room. We played Bananagrams. We chatted and learned new words.

I worked on my blog and made tea. It got late so we watched only one episode of Home Improvement. Chris went to bed and I stayed up way too late reading e-mail and messages. But I felt relaxed and was able to sleep.

Townhall

Tuesday

I got up around 8. I got ready for the day and put on a teal shirt because of Teal Tuesdays during the month of April. I checked e-mail and looked at Peep memes.

At 10am , I went to 610 to clean, but the lady was still there. We chatted and I moved my cleaning stuff in. She promised to text me. I went home. But before I left the car, I got a call to open the chapel. So I went there to unlock it for the guy who was tasked with installing changing tables in both restrooms.

When I got home, I read e-mail. I made cheese with the goat milk. I made and ate breakfast. I read outside and finished my book. I walked to the post office and back to get the mail.

I went to the chapel to turn off the lights. Then I went to Saronna's house to play music. Randy joined us on his saxophone. During that, the lady texted that she was done and gone.

I went home to drop off the trombone. I stopped at the swap shop for shovels. I went to Isadora's house to drop off the cheese, then went to the garden. As I changed my shoes, Isadora arrived with Electra. We dug up the bulbs and tubers growing by the fence. The fence was falling forward so she pushed it back until it collapsed. Her mother Facetimed us and we showed her what happened. The Paces walked by and stopped to chat. We did not admit what happened, but they could tell.

I put the shovels away and went home for supper. Chris came home for supper. Then we went to the town hall together. I sat with Michele and John because they asked even though I would have sat with the commander's wife. There were lots of slides. I took pics of a few. People asked questions. I mentioned the bulbs and was told they were planting fruit trees so I should re-plant the bulbs by the trees. I did not mention the destruction of the fence.

I stayed late to talk to Brian about the bulbs. Erynne offered to help me dig the rest. Then Karen talked to me about her father. Afterward, Chris turned off the lights and locked up. We went home. I went to 610 to make sure it was locked and to look at what was left behind, especially food. I found some chocolate almonds and pickles without polysorbate 80.

I went home and worked on my blog. I made tea and we watched several episodes of Home Improvement on Netflix. Chris went to bed and I stayed up to read.

Jenni hit a deer

Monday

I woke up at 7:30. Chris said he called in being late. I got up to start the day. Jenni called to say she hit a deer and she wanted to come over. So I quickly got dressed and finished my drinks.

I was about to treat a yeast infection when I saw her car outside. So I walked out and saw her hood and grill messed up with fur stuck in it. She explained that as she was driving out, a deer came flying by and neither of them could stop in time. She went looking for the body but it was nowhere to be found. But there were three little baby deer looking for her.

I suggested we go for a walk. So she drove her car home. I put on shoes and made fiber gel. Then I went to her house. Her blinkers were on and she couldn't turn them off. So we looked through the manual to find the right fuse. But nothing was labeled 'lights' or 'blinkers'. So she parked it on the street where a tow truck could get to it. Then I asked if she pushed the blinker button. I don't know which one she had pushed, but when I pushed the triangle button, the blinkers shut off. Then we took plastic bags and went for a walk, picking up trash as we went. We walked by the garden and saw people were cleaning it up. Then we walked back to her house. She decided to take a hot shower to relax.

I went home around 10. Chris was still there. I jotted notes for my blog. I e-mailed Emily. After a few errands, I drove over to her office to deliver the gopher skull. Then I went to 610 for the signover. After looking around and seeing how clean it was, I gave the lady $60 back.

Then I went to the swap shop where the clean-out was already in progress. For 2.5 hours I helped pack boxes and move stuff. I even went home to get more boxes. A big box truck came from the Toole thrift and they took a lot of stuff, especially the bigger items.

Around 1:30 I went home for breakfast. Chris was working from home. I made and ate breakfast, then read e-mail. I read a book for a bit, then fell asleep till almost 6. I woke up and went to band. We played hymns and one Broadway tune. We talked about doing When The Saints for Palm Sunday and Get Me to the Church on Time for Mother's Day.

When I got home, I looked for my gopher poster and could not find it. So I texted Michelle. She said she had one, and that there was a bottle of expired milk at her house. So I went over there to get it. I also asked for help digging up the bulbs before the fence gets replaced. Isadora said she would help me tomorrow.

Then I went to 610 to move my cleaning stuff in. But when I opened the garage door, the tenant's car was still there. So I closed it quickly and went home.

I worked on my blog. I made tea. We watched 3 or 4 episodes of Home Improvement. Chris went to bed and I stayed up to read e-mail.

Catching up on VMIS

Sunday

I got up at 9. I did some arm exercises and lunges. I took a probiotic and set the timer. I tried to check Facebook, but my computer wouldn't let me change the screen. So I made fiber gel. When the timer went off, I took the morning supplements. Then I worked on posting community hours for March on the VMIS website. That took several hours of reading blog entries and making notes.

I made up supplement doses for the week. I made and ate breakfast, then got dressed for church. I took the egg/chia muffins to church.

When I got there, I left the muffins on the back and assembled my trombone. I talked to the chaplain. Then I played through the two hymns as a warm-up. Then the service started with praise songs, followed by the sermon on dressing modestly, followed by the two hymns. I talked to several people, then picked up the leftover muffins. There were 5 that someone had taken a bite or two of and put back. Sigh. I took the rest and went home.

I read e-mail for a bit then changed into regular clothes. I read more. Then I went outside barefoot to read until 5. Chris came to find me for the game. Then I came in to sign on to Discord and to ingest fiber gel. Chris had heated supper for me. As we played the game, I ate supper, then peeled a dozen eggs and put them in the pickling brine.

In the game, a pixie became besotted with Rose and led us to the nyad who explained what was going on. The mayor's son was the root of her problem. So we went to the mayor and explained. The boy's mother came out and swatted him, then we took him to the nyad where he apologized. We went back to the mayor to collect the promised payment. Then we headed out to another town and had to rescue it from the men who had just sacked it.

After the game, we talked for awhile, then I made tea and we started watching more of Foyle's war. It was triggering for me and we got into a 'discussion'. It got hot and cold and went till 1am. Then we went to bed. But then I remembered my blog. I went back to the computer to post it.

Foyle's War

Saturday

I got up around 8. I took supplements and drank vitamin C water. I watched the Indiana Jones walkthru to see where the missing scepter was. I watched The Corbett Report about 23andMe. Because the company is in bankruptcy, people are deleting their info so it won't be sold. I looked up the deletion procedure and submitted a request to download all information from 23andMe, elected to discard the sample.

I refilled the coconut oil container and asked Chris for a massage. He did, and we took our showers. I ingested the fiber gel and waited the requisite 30 minutes, then made and ate breakfast.

After eating, I got my sewing project together and put it in the car. Chris put a tub of fabric in my passenger seat. Then we both drove to the chapel. He carried the tub into the chapel and put it on a table, then left. I set up for sewing class.

Wilhelm was the first to arrive. I got him started on the tomato, which I thought would be long and complicated. Then his sisters arrived and I helped them get started. But all too soon, they were finished so they made other stuff that I did not have a pattern for. (They finished early because they did not make both sides of the tomato slice, nor did they sew in the seeds.) Moira made logs and fire. Sophia made a marshmallow and chocolate bar. Wilhelm made a hotdog. Even 3 year old Jedediah made a heart cookie.

After they left, I stayed to clean up. There was tangled embroidery floss everywhere. I untangled them and neatened up the table. Then I went home. I whipped up a batch of chia/egg muffins to use up some black bananas. Then I walked to the post office to get our mail. There was a box of supplements and I dispersed its contents.

I read e-mail and listened to some interviews. Chris made his supper. I worked on my blog. I made supper and more breakfast mix. Then I ate and went to the chapel for Project Night.

Michele came in as I was setting up. She was patterning a mutton sleeve. I laid out fabric to make a circle skirt. Casey came in with Cedric. Later Michaela came in to hem some pants. I was so proud of the way Michele helped her. I continued to try to lay the circle skirt on the fabric but both fabrics kept moving. Then Jenni came by to amend a bra so the straps would not slide off. Michaela left. Casey was working on a Basic program that plays tones. Interesting. Then he and CeMichele packed up and left. Jenni helped me pack everything else and store it in the storage room. And we locked up and went home.

It was after 9, but Chris consented to watching an episode of Foyle's War. It was well done, but the content was disturbing. It takes place in Britain during the war. People are put into internment camps for suspicions. German lady was murdered and nobody cared.

Afterwards, I went through the bedtime ritual, including a bit of tapping, and went to bed.

Steaming eggs and refilling water

Friday

I got up at 7:30. I ran to my phone to let Casey and Saronna know that we weren't having Math Morning. Then I went back to bed for some snuggling. Later I got up to wash up and get ready for the day. I took supplements and made fiber gel. I steamed 7 eggs. Saronna wanted to go to the swap shop, so I put on shoes and walked down there to unlock it.

I steamed a second batch of eggs. I read some e-mail, then went to a house on second street where they left a dryer on their doorstep. Jamie and her son met me. They loaded it on her trailer. I gave her the envelop of money for 627. I left and they went home.

I ate half of the fiber gel. I had been saving all the weather predictions for 3 weeks. I wrote them down in order to see how often they had been right. Then I made and ate breakfast. Chris took his shower. Then we went to the post office to fill our water jugs. I locked up the swap shop. We couldn't get the card reader to work, so we proceeded to the commissary to buy the usual. On the way home, we stopped at the post office again and this time the card reader worked (albeit slowly). We filled two 5-gallon jugs and went home.

We unloaded groceries, then went to Tooele, listening to the last CD of the book. I fell asleep, but woke up in Tooele. We went into Luckey's but didn't find anything. I walked to Melanie's and got a few things. Then we went to Macey's for organic produce. We finished the CD and put in the first CD of the sequel. I didn't fall asleep, but was comfortable and relaxed till we got to post.

We unloaded those groceries. I read e-mail and other messages. Chris ate supper and went to his game night. I had the rest of the fiber gel, then in 30 minutes heated up leftover pork and rice and mushrooms and sweet potato. It was good.

I posted to my blog for yesterday and wrote notes for today. I got ready for Game Night. I filled a bottle with tea and put magnesium in it. I also put some cheese squares in a container for Michelle. I took pictures of hints for the game.

I went to her house and gave the cheese squares to her husband. He had the game up. I played, stopping to check my notes occasionally. At the end, I knew I needed a scepter to use as a lever, but could not find one anywhere. I figured it must be on the sub, but I could not get back there. I saved the game and bid Casey a good night.

I went home and found Chris was still up. I got ready for bed and turned in.

The very long tomato

Thursday

I got up at 7:30. I was surprised since I went to bed so late - although I did tap before laying down. I brushed my teeth, washed up and got dressed. I went to the kitchen and put the B12 under my tongue. I made vitamin C water with electrolytes. I hunted for the tomato pattern and could not find it. I tried on all the tops I got from the swap shop. Only two were keepers and one had a spot. So I soaped the spots and left them to soak.

I went to the chapel and waited in my car like the other ladies who arrived before me. I guess I spaced out because I was startled by the chaplain knocking on my window. So I got out and joined the others who had gathered. After discussion, I rode with Keli and the others rode with the chaplain. We went to Ditto to the chem lab for a tour. Kurt would have loved it. We had to show our ID's to get in. We got to look inside labs and see what safety equipment and procedures they had. We also got to ask questions. Sadly I forgot to bring my camera. They did an experiment under a hood where he put a few drops of brake fluid in a beaker of pool shock. It did nothing. And then it caught fire. Whoa! Then he made chlorine gas so we could see the color of it.

When the tour was over, Keli dropped me off at the chapel. I drove home and was surprised to see it was 12:30. I tuned into The Highwire. I ate half of the fiber gel and watched for a bit, then made and ate breakfast. I figured out how much I owed Jamie and put it in an envelop. I marked the last several contracts with the hours and amounts. Then I got caught up in reading e-mail and other messages.

I made another tomato pattern and then looked at the sample picture. It was bigger. So I made a bigger pattern. I tried to free-hand the inside, but that didn't work. So I got some thin paper and traced it from the computer screen. I mounted that on cardboard and cut out the insides with an Xacto knife. I used the pattern to cut out felt in the appropriate circles.

I took a break to get the gopher head ready. I ran over it with an iron and wax paper. Not sure that helped. I tied a bow on top and put it in a box. Then I messaged Emily to see if she was in her office. I jotted notes for my blog. When Retreat sounded, I went to her office anyway, but she wasn't there. I stopped at the library to get something for us to watch, but the librarian said my husband had already been there. So we chatted for some time and then I went home.

I had a bite to eat, and listened to an interview while sewing the tomato parts together and putting in the seeds. I posed it on a plate and took pics. Chris came home with his Thursday pizza.

I listened to part of another interview. I posted to my blog and made tea. We had finished Brokenwood, so we tried another police drama that takes place in Italy. It was in Italian with English subtitles. It was ok, but probably better in the original language.

After watching, Chris went to bed. I stayed up later to read e-mail. Then I went through my bedtime rituals, did some tapping, and went to bed.

Picking up the accordion

Wednesday

I got up before 7:30. I cut up banana peels. I prepared for coffee morning by making coffee. I stretched and rotated all my joints. I drybrushed my skin and read for half an hour. I meditated and tapped. I cleaned the kitchen and bathrooms. I vacuumed and mopped, then took a shower.

I made a quick trip to the swap shop to get the bag of clothing I left behind. I put those clothes and some cleaning cloths in the washer. I filled a water bottle. Jamie came to pick me up.

We chatted as she drove us into Salt Lake City to the accordion place. She stayed outside to smoke while I went in. The man brought the accordion out and I opened it to check it. The case was in bad repair so I asked about a new case. He took me in the back and showed me the soft-sided cases that they use now. The case comes with backpack straps which seemed pretty good to me. I tried it on and bought one. Jamie carried it out to her car and I carried the old case.

Then we headed to the fabric store. It was a lot bigger than it looked from the front. There was A LOT of decorator fabric, but they had all sorts of others as well. Jamie had brought the dress she wanted copied and the clerk pointed us to rolls of similar fabrics. We had a great time feeling all the rolls and discussing the merits. Finally she picked three. Another clerk cut them for her. Then we used the restroom. She went outside to smoke, leaving me alone. I realized that I was surrounded by fabric and had no idea where the front door was. Oh well. I wandered till I found my way out.

From there, we went to Tooele to Joanns. We found some waistband elastic and a diamond art kit. After that, we went to Little Caesar's. She got a bunch of pizzas. Then we drove back to Dugway. She brought the accordion in and stayed long enough to look at the dodecahedron I made years ago.

After she left, I talked with Chris. I was getting cold, so I ate a bowl of pork and rice. John and Michele came over. I showed her the fabric Deb gave me and she took some. Then we watched the last episode of Brokenwood.

After that, Michele said she was too tired to drive and John said he was too tipsy. So Chris drove them home in his car and I followed to pick him up. Then Chris got ready for bed. I read some messages. I worked on my blog and realized there was wet laundry in the washer. I threw it in the dryer, then finished my blog and went to bed, late.

The garden in back on my radar

Tuesday

I got up before 7:30 having slept pretty well. I got ready for the day. I worked on the sticky gopher ball. The ammonia I used yesterday didn't work, so today I used rubbing alcohol. Just rubbing didn't work, so I let it soak while I read e-mail and other messages. I checked again and it wasn't ready. So I let it soak some more. I compared supplements looking for a probiotic with bifidobacterium longum BB 536.

I went early to inspection of 627. I took a bucket of cleaners and looked through the house to make sure she hadn't missed anything. The inspectors came. Jack found dust on top of the fridge. I can't imagine how I missed that. Everything else looked good. When Jamie arrived, I asked her to clean the top of the fridge. We signed the papers. Jack accepted the key to 627 plus the key to 645 and the other inspector had a key for him. I hope he was able to keep them separate. He left and we ladies stayed to chat.

Then the accordion place called. Jamie said she could take me so I told them I would pick it up tomorrow. We went home. I made fiber gel and consumed half. I washed dishes in the sink. I made and ate breakfast. I found info for Emily about the garden. She wanted to put the clean-up event in her flyer.

At 2, I went to the swap shop and worked with Jenni for 3.5 hours packing up adult clothing. We also let people come and 'shop'.

After 5:30, I went home. Chris was there, having supper. I ate the rest of the fiber gel. I made supper, and read more e-mail and messages as I ate. I worked on my blog and made tea. We watched one episode of Brokenwood. Then Chris went to bed and I stayed up to read.

Busy afternoon

Monday

I got up around 8 and got ready for the day. I checked e-mail. I looked through the Zoom worksheets. I examined the resin gopher skull. It was sticky and I thought maybe the resin hadn't been properly mixed. I looked up how to dissolve resin and ammonia was suggested. So I poured some ammonia in a bottle cap and let the sticky side of the gopher skull soak in it. I left it set until almost 11 and checked it. There was still a streak of sticky resin on it. So I put it back in to soak some more. It was on a cookie sheet so I stuck it in the oven so I didn't have to smell it.

I posted for band tonight. Then Keli said she couldn't make it at 6. Had she told me earlier, I would have scheduled band an hour later. But maybe reading my post is what prompted her to tell me. Then I chose hymns for next Sunday and Palm Sunday.

I went to the swap shop for the meeting. I chatted with the other ladies until Jamie came. Then Brian started the meeting. He told us that the work would begin either this week or next, that we could put stuff in the Connex, that if the swap shop closes it will only be for a week or two. We went to see the connex and some other empty spaces where swap shop stuff could go. Then he told us about all the plans the base has for a new park, running and biking trails, batting cage, golf cage, etc. Sounded too goo to be true.

After the meeting broke up, I went to the post office to get the mail. A lady asked if I was Fern and I said yes. So she asked about getting a quote for cleaning her quarters. I told her I could do it after 2.

Til I got home it was almost 1. I drank fiber gel and fielded some calls. Deb wanted me to come by and get some fabric she was clearing out. I texted Jamie about the quote. I made and ate breakfast.

All too soon, I paused whatever I was watching and went to the inspection at 645. I didn't see the inspectors cars, but I went in and two were there looking around. They said the oven looked great. I explained about all the other stuff I had to clean. We all signed papers and I left. I went to 610 where Jamie was looking over the place with the occupant. I joined in. The house looked pretty good to me. Better than 627. I would have been happy with $400 but Jamie was thinking $600 so we quoted her $500. She was happy with that because another lady had quoted her $800.

From there I went to Deb's house. She showed me two tubs of fabric and ribbon she was getting rid of. I agreed to take them but could not carry them. We talked about this and that. Her husband came home. He carried the tubs to my car and I drove home.

I stopped at Housing to schedule an inspection for tomorrow for 627 which Jamie said was finished. When I got home, I had a bite to eat. I read some messages and jotted notes for my blog. I rested up for band. Chris came home. We chatted.

I went to the chapel for band and realized I had forgotten the music. So I unlocked the door and went home for the music. When I got back, Saronna and Randy were set up. I asked Randy about buying a live sheep and rendering it. He said he knew how. Jenni came and we played through a bunch of hymns and Broadway tunes. Then we packed up. Keli stopped by with cartons of eggs.

When I got home, I drank the rest of the fiber gel. I read some e-mail, then put pulled pork in the toaster oven. I continued reading. I read about a green house heated by compost and also a geothermal greenhouse which was heated by pipes underground.

I made tea and we watched an episode of Brokenwood. Later Chris went to bed. I stayed up to read online. Then I joined him.
