A little cutting and a little sewing

My phone was out in the living room charging. I turned off the electricity to the guest room and spent the night there. I heard my phone alarm in the morning, but it was much less alarming because of the distance. I did not get up until nature insisted.
I turned off all electricity to see if the 'hidden network' wi-fi icon would be affected, but it was not. So when I turned the switch back on, I had to reset the clocks.
I put on the 5G interviews for today. I went through my collection of fabric license plates and tried to find inspiration on the internet. I did not see many quilts with license plates. Then I concentrated on borders.
About 10 I took my protein supplement and got dressed. I went out to see if there were any yard sales in the neighborhood. There was one just down the street. My neighbor was there and introduced me. The new people really like thrifting. I talked to them for some time. Then I went on and found another sale, but it was the same as last month. No crock pot there. I left the base and went to the Humane Society thrift shop. The lady at the front went back to check for one. She came back with a humdinger of a pot that normally sells for $200 so she was asking $60. It had too many bells and whistles for me.
On the way home, I passed another sign. There was a yard sale near the entrance. I stopped there, but it was not impressive. I asked about a crock pot and she said no, but everything was really cheap. We talked for a bit, then I went home.
I was going to tell the new people on my street about the yard sale, but they had already packed up. I took the next round of special foods, then made and ate breakfast. I was out of doses of supplements but did not feel like making up more.
I gathered laundry and bedding and threw it all in the washer. I auditioned some borders and added to the 5” squares quilt top. It still needed more. At some point I had a bite for lunch. I folded laundry and put it away. I went in the back yard to clip the grass (and weeds) growing along the back fence.
Our next door neighbor came over and offered to drive Chris' car. I handed him the keys, but they turned out to be the wrong keys, so I had to go back for the other set. He checked to make sure, then headed out. I kept sewing and listening to interviews. He came back, said it felt like a belt was loose. I thanked him for driving it.
I went back to sewing. I had the last of the lettuce and an egg for supper. Later I got some frozen strawberries and put them in a dish. Chris called on Skype. He said he now has an interview for a job here at the Arsenal, but he didn't sound enthusiastic about it. I ate the berries and watched a Netflix DVD called Mirai. I did not realize it was anime when I put it on my list. It was ok. Michele might have enjoyed it more than I did.
After the DVD ended, I finished putting the last border on the quilt. I folded it up and threw it in with the rest of the quilt tops for Linus. I turned the AC down because I heard that cooler temps allow better sleep. I wrote my blog post for today. I still needed to do my lower back exercises, which meant moving fabric so I could lay on the floor. Seeing the pic, I am suddenly doubting my choice of wide border.

The radiation we have now is affecting birth rate such that some cultures will go extinct. 5G will speed that up considerably. It is also affecting collective brain function, which at some point becomes an extinction-level event in itself. Electrical fields lead to a breakdown of the blood=brain barrier.
5G affects calcium channels in plants (as well as people) which spurs plants to produce more flammable terpenes. Martin Pall predicts more wild fires because of it.

Disposal gets a clean bill of health

It was really quiet when I went to bed last night. I had turned off the electricity to that part of the house. But I woke up in the night to use the bathroom and my head was full of sound. I went back to sleep and slept in until 8:30. I turned on the electricity and router. For some reason the A/C was off all night even though I didn't touch that breaker.
I deleted some e-mail, then put on the first interview of the day. I found a block kit in my bag so I ironed the fabrics contained in it, and followed the directions until I had the block in the picture. About 11 a guy came to fix the disposal. I paused the interview. I explained that it was working now but might have a loose connection. He went out to his truck to get tools and I ducked into the bedroom to get dressed. It didn't take him long. He said to call right away if it stopped working again. We talked about what would be the best number to call.
After he left, I made and ate breakfast. I read some e-mail, then considered my quilts in progress. I designed a border for the one with 5” blocks. I cut and sewed to create it. I went outside to cut grass along the fence with shears. I spent at least 20 minutes and got some sun. I did some subcutting of a strip I made. Then I drove to the post office to check the mail. Just more recycling. I stopped at the library on the way home. I turned in one book and checked out another by Victoria Holt. They only had one, which surprised me. I checked the free shelf, but did not find any there. There was one called The Cat Who Went Bananas. I like that series so I picked it up.
When I got home, I brought in the mail, then went for a walk. I took my phone so I could use it to test my phone for cell signals and wi-fi signals at various points along the way.
I resumed sewing, then made a salad. When I had eaten it, I started watching Royal Pains. Chris called. He'd been out with Herberth all day. We talked for a little bit, then I went back to my show and afterward watched two episodes of Frasier (since the first one was to-be-continued).
I spied a large roach in the bathroom. It was trying to hide behind a tube of toothpaste. I jammed it back, trapping the bug. But it's antenna were so long they nearly touched my hand as I held it there. It was definitely a call-Chris moment, but he was too far away. I had to grab a piece of toilet paper with my other hand and squish it. Yuck! Hopefully the neighbors didn't hear my screams.
I had to do some more sewing to calm down. Two of the border strips were half an inch too short and there was no more of them. So I inserted yellow squares on those two corners. Then I sat down to write my blog post.
* This kit was from the 2015 row-by-row. Now what do I do with this block? *

Feed me, Seymour

I was up way too late again (but I finished the book). I turned off the electricity to the bedroom. I felt a little more relaxed, but was still a little disappointed how long it took to fall asleep.
I slept in – again. I got up about 8:30. I turned on the electricity, and the router, which was when I realized I had never turned it off. I put on interviews from the 5G summit and checked e-mail.
Chris called my phone. I didn't even know he could do that. He wanted me to go by Housing and tell them to check the garbage disposal for a loose wire. After the call, I checked my phone for messages and found one from David at Housing. The message asked me to call back. So I did. But I got an automated system which gave me two choices: file a regular maintenance request or an emergency one. I waited for more choices and it hung up on me. I tried again. Same choices. I chose 0, but it just hung up on me. So the third time, I chose 1. My call was directed to a call center who had no idea who David was. I submitted another request because that is what she knows how to do.
I made and ate breakfast. I lost my comb, so I used a brush to fix my hair. Then I remembered where the comb was, waiting to be cleaned. I put hot soapy water in a bowl and left it to soak.
I went to quilting. While talking to the ladies, I worked on some hanging towels. David at Housing called and said they'd come tomorrow between 1 and 4. Around 2 I packed my stuff and gathered up the extension cords for the remaining ladies, who were about to leave as well. I went directly home.
I ate lunch, then mowed the lawn. I got matching thread and top-stitched the hanging towels. I put matching thread in the bag for the next set. I worked on the next row for a quilt in progress which was lying on the floor. I had been waiting for it to tell me the next step and finally realized it was saying “Feed me, Seymour”. That meant finding more compatible fabrics and making more rows.
Dad called, returning my call from yesterday. He was concerned that no one would file his papers. I wasn't sure which papers he was referring to, but since he hadn't filed anything in years, I can well imagine that no one wants to take on that project.
I got two Command hooks and applied them to the wall over the window in the guest room. I tried to put a tension rod across them, but they fell off. So I sprayed each one with a little basting spray and put them back up. In the mean time, I put the tension rod at the top of the window and hung black plastic over it. A bit of light still showed above it, so I had to tape some paper up there.
I ate the last of the zucchini strips that I had bought at Publix. It came in a package that doesn't re-close, so it got soggyish in the fridge and needed to be eaten quickly before it went bad.
My tapping buddy called and we tapped for almost 2 hours on my issues with 5G. I talked to Chris on skype. He did not talk long because he wanted to look at the newest jobs available. I watched an episode of Royal Pains even though it was almost 10. I posted to my blog, then turned off the electricity to the guest room in preparation to spend the night there.

Exposure to wi-fi increases insulin resistance (makes you fat?). 5G emitters on light poles will making walking around your neighborhood more dangerous than staying in your house. There is no safety regulation for radiation exposure, only guidelines.

What keeps me up at night

Having stayed up way too late last night, and then having trouble falling asleep, it came as no surprise that I got up late – by an hour and a half. I made coffee, exercised, and did lots of tapping. But instead of meditation music, I listened to interviews from the 5G summit. There is so much to learn: the dangers of the technology itself, the dangers of what it will allow (like tracking our every move), and ways people mitigate the effects and the legal way to protest a smart meter.
I took a shower and gave the kitchen and bathrooms a quick wipe. I watered the flowers, and then headed to the Korean clinic. Dr. J wanted me to fill out an online form for him. Then he wanted to know why he couldn't access patient files on his computer. He had some strange storage device that looked like a USB thumb drive, but was more complicated. The computer didn't seem to recognize it. I played around with it, looked into updates for his computer and the machine that produces the reports. But I had no luck. When I realized it was after 4, I said my goodbyes and dashed out to go to the post office before it closed.
There were the usual ads, and a credit card bill. I took it home and read it. I saw nearly $1000 worth of charges from something called Gtarcade. I wondered if our account had been hacked, so I sent Chris and e-mail.
I ate several proteins, and did some sewing while listening to more 5G talks. Then I went for a walk. When I got back, I made a salad. I called Dad, but he didn't answer. I ate the salad, then called Al and we talked for a while.
I started watching Royal Pains. Chris called me on Skype. We didn't have much to say. He did admit to incurring the charges. Then I finished the episode of Royal Pains, while using my massage ball. I cleared out some more e-mail. Then I wrote to my blog. I am going to shut off the electricity to the master bedroom and see if I sleep any better.

Market canceled

I stayed up way late reading a book. I fell asleep sooner than usual, but still. When the alarm went off I ignored it, went back to sleep and got up an hour later.
After the usual morning stuff, I was alarmed to see a puddle of blood on the floor. On closer examination, I discovered it was poke berry juice dripping from a zip-lock bag that had holes in it. I put the berries on a cookie sheet and left them outside to dry. I soaked the bag in a bucket of soapy water to get all the purple juice out.
Around 9:30 I went quilting. I brought in the tubs of leftovers in for everyone to partake of. I worked by hand on the binding of the fandango quilt. Beverly was next to me, sewing squares together for a twister quilt. She had a box of clothes that needed to be hemmed shorter, but nothing was marked so I couldn't do it.
Afterward, we went to the Asian store for kimbap. When I got home, I ate kimbap for breakfast, and a few other things. I listened to a talk on the dangers of 5G. I just had time for a quick walk around the circle, then went to church.
I entered all the offering data in to the computer. The proceeds of the rummage sale were a little confusing because they were allotted to Still Serving Vets, and line 808, whatever that is. I had trouble printing the reports because the light in the copy room did not work. When that was done, I stopped at the restroom. One of the toilets was running continuously. I checked in the tank and the flapper was completely disengaged, so I turned the water off and left a note in the office.
I laid down on a pew while waiting for Elaine. When she arrived, we went to a back room to do some allergy clearings. Then we parted I took the money (with considerable cash from the rummage sale) to the bank, and waited while the cashier counted it all. Then I went to the farmer's market for tomatoes, but it was closed and vendors were packing up early due to storm. Ironically it wasn't raining at that point. I just went home.
I checked the mail and there was a package. I opened it to find a pill bottle sandwiched between foam bumpers with a small cold pack, which was quite warm from the heat of the mail box. It was testosterone and a little melty.
I went for another walk around the circle, hoping the rain would not come back. Then I made my usual breakfast for supper. I also had some heart meat. I worked on the chinese coins backing and listened to 5G talks – the higher speeds will enable technocrats to monitor everything and everyone in real time and make reliable predictive models. Like predicting crimes, and controlling populations.
I talked to Chris on Skype. We were both yawning and he told me to go to bed. Then I watched one episode each of Royal Pains and Frasier. I sat in the bathroom to read a book for just a few minutes, but it turned out to be hours. It was a mystery novel by Victoria Holt, so old that I had to hold it together while reading. Around midnight, I came to my senses and put the book down so I could write to my blog.

Getting the residue out

I got up soon after the alarm went off. I put on an interview from the 5G summit and washed dishes by hand, and did a few things around the house. I learned that optical fiber is 5-10 million times faster than 5G although we don't have the technology to take advantage of the top speeds yet. It is also much more secure. The rollout of 5G constitutes assault. One speaker recommended lots of sun, raw oysters, creating a sleep sanctuary, and living on the ground floor.
I took the beef heart from the fridge and put it in the crock pot, such as it was. Since the liner didn't fit, I turned it on high and left it that way. I called Housing and reported the non-functional disposal. I worked my way through supplements to breakfast. After eating breakfast, I packed stuff for the swap and went to quilting. I was a little earlier than usual. I set up at an open spot in the back. There was a table for swap items. I added mine. After a little chitchat, I looked over the table and selected a few things, like wool roving. I went to the back to work on the fandango quilt. A few people stopped by to see what I was working on. It kinda of draws attention to itself. Lauri came in late and stayed with me while everyone left. So, when I got all the rows together into one piece, I packed up too. She left and I wasn't far behind. It was raining. Dinah had packed all the leftovers into a tub for me so I could share them with the Tuesday group. A man helped me carry the tub to my car.
I stopped at the post office on the way home. There was no mail of any kind. I proceeded to our duplex. I checked disposal and it worked, however there were no signs that anyone had been here. I looked up glass recycling, and it seems we no longer have that option here. I looked up homemade laundry detergent. I put the bed clothing in the washer with vinegar to get the detergent residue out. I also looked up homemade dishwasher detergent. I washed some clothing in the next load with vinegar and a color catcher. I soaked a piece of black fabric in vinegar for an hour to soften it, but when it came out of the dryer, it was still stiff. I ironed two lengths of fabric dry while watching an episode of The Quilt Show.
I cut and sewed red binding onto my quilt. Joining the edges of the binding did not go well so I left it for later. I checked the mail, and found only ads. I wanted to go for a walk, but it was awfully wet.
Around 7 I decided the heart was done. I forked the whole thing onto a plate and selected a knife to slice it with. If Chris had been here, he probably would have chosen a different knife. I dissected the heart, looking for anatomy, but the cooking had destroyed most of the details. I ate a comfortable amount. It really hit the spot and I had trouble resisting the urge to eat more than enough. I packed the rest up in jars.
I talked to Chris on Skype. He was feeling fine again, but no job offers. He remarked on the e-mail he got from Housing after his complaint about their new login system. After the call, I put the jars of beef heart and juice in the fridge. I watched the remaining part of something from last night, then watched one episode of Royal Pains while sewing on binding. I looked up one of the characters. I dressed the bed, then sat down to write my blog. I put my phone in airplane mode and went to bed.

Sewing at home

Last night I listened to an interview on how laundry toxins affect gut health. Apparently some laundry ingredients – like fragrance and whiteners are intended to stay in the fabric after the wash so we are exposed to them all day long. I checked out my cleaner and was not happy with the list of ingredients. It made me want to wash my clothes all over again. I went searching for the soap nuts I knew I had. I put them on the dryer so I will see them next time. (BTW – dishwashing detergents also leave residue – on purpose.)
I had a hard time getting to sleep, even though I did a lot of humming. And then I woke up in the middle of the night with something like restless leg syndrome. So when my alarm went off in the morning, I went back to sleep.
I got up around 8 and noticed that the bottoms of my feet hurt. I got myself ready for church and took some supplements and did a clearing. I grabbed the shopping list and extra bags, and headed out at 9:30 for church.
I sat in my usual spot and noticed Don C. was not there. I hoped he was ok. Don L. sat in my pew, and then Tamara came in. I wrote a check for our third quarter outreach mission. Then the service started. There were lots of announcements. The pastor talked about how today's scripture made him chuckle. After the service, there was a coffee hour. I wasn't going to stay, but people kept talking to me. I wanted to talk to Elaine, but it wasn't to be.
I went to Publix to get groceries. There wasn't much on the list. Then I went home. I put the food away and changed my clothes. I made and ate breakfast. I did some sewing while listening to interviews, trying to catch up. I took the weekend walk around 3 and gathered a bag of poke berries. My hands got stained like I came fresh from a kill. A police car went by, and didn't stop. So I guess I didn't look like an ax murderer after all.
I went back to sewing, putting a spotted black border on one quilt and working at making a Chinese coins backing for the other one to use up all the leftovers. I took a break to made a salad for lunch (albeit a late one). After more interviews and sewing, it was 8pm. I had a small supper of nuts and cheese so I could take my evening supplements. Soon after, Chris called. We talked for a bit, but didn't have much to say. He wanted to go to bed early so he could go running at 5am. I found an empty can of coconut milk in the microwave. I thought the fruit flies could not get in there, but apparently they did, and feasted on the coconut residue. I cleaned it out, leaving them with nowhere to congregate.
I watched one episode each of Royal Pains and Frasier. I rolled a few muscles, but not my calves, in case that is what is causing the pain in my feet. I got ready for bed, then sat down to write my blog post.

The search

This morning I turned off the alarm and laid down again. I had actually slept pretty well. When I got up, I stripped bed and started laundry. I listened to a podcast from the oral health summit. The speaker talked about the benefits of humming for sinus health, insomnia, and relaxation of facial muscles and body. I condensed my morning routine, and ate breakfast at 10. I noticed the insinkerator didn't work, and there were fewer fruit flies. A coincidence? Probably.
I headed to church, stopping at a new thrift/consignment place on the way. I drove right past it because it looked so questionable. When I did go in, it was packed with stuff. I asked the checkout lady if they had any crock pots. She didn't think so but welcomed me to look. It was three large rooms. I looked through numerous booths. I saw all kinds of things, but not a crock pot.
Finally, I left and went on to the church. There was less than half an hour left of their sale. Susan said only Lars could price the shepherd hooks. When I asked, he said $5 each. So I paid at the welcome center. I started helping to pack up. The puzzles were gone. There was some white fabric and fusible web. I bought that and put it in my car, hoping it wouldn't be a hot mess later. I wrapped dishware in paper and bubblewrap to be boxed. Soon, everything was boxed, but the truck hadn't come yet. Paige and I filled a cart in the cloak room with it's previous contents. I talked to Doris for a bit, then I said goodbye so I could go to the Sew-signment sale. Someone asked if I was going to help sell. I said yes, in a manner of speaking.
I drove to Trinity and found my way to a large room, filled with fabric, machines, magazines, rulers, etc. I greeted people I knew. I circled the fabric tables with everyone else and picked up a few packets of leftover pieces. Some packets were priced low, but some were pretty high. Then I got in line and waited to pay. My total was $27. I joked with the checkers, then headed out.
On the way home, I stopped at the Humane Society Thrift Store. I thought surely they would have a crock pot, but I was sadly mistaken. So I went home, potless.
It was after lunch, so I ate a banana and chocolate and nuts. I forgot to take my lunch supplements. I played podcast after podcast while examining my new fabrics and trying to make a project out of them. I added some rows to one quilt top and a border to another. One project leftover pile had squares and strips of every size. I wondered what pattern called for that.
At 6:30 I stopped for supper. Then I took a walk around the circle and such. I did not get too far from the house because it was getting dark and looking like rain. When I got back, I finished up the sewing and podcasts.
I started watching an episode of Royal Pains. Chris called me on Skype. We chatted for a bit, but didn't have much to say. He hung up and I went back to the episode. But then I remembered the garbage disposal. I called him back to tell him about it. He said to hit the reset switch on the bottom. After the call, I found the reset button and pressed it. But the motor would still not turn on. So I sent him a message about it. Then I watched the rest of the episode, and also one of Frasier.
I took my bedtime supplements. I jotted some notes for my blog, then folded laundry and put a clean sheet on the bed. I did it as well as I could, considering I can't lift the corners of the mattress. I finished my blog post, and got ready for bed.

Pricing rummage

I slept pretty well last night. I got up before the alarm went off. There was the usual ringing in my ears and I wondered if it was in the guest room as well, so I laid down in there. It seemed a little quieter. There was a book of songs in there and I sang a few of them. Then I weighed myself and found I lost 3 or 4 pounds. I read the rest of my book even though I only meant to do a chapter or two.
I turned on the router and chose an interview from the oral health summit to listen to. I learned that grinding teeth at night is a way some people compensate for mild apnea. I resumed taking my usual morning supplements. I raised the stove top and cleaned under it. I don't think it was contributing to the fruit fly problem, but just in case. I made up a week's worth of breakfast lunch and dinner doses. Then I had breakfast, but for some reason couldn't eat it all.
Stacey wanted to leave at 12:15 so I puttered around for a few minutes. I made a pattern for my next project. Then I went out to water flowers and saw that she was waiting for me. We drove to the church to help with the rummage sale. Apparently she had been helping earlier in the week, so she knew exactly what was going on. Susan asked me to go to the craft room to price fabric. So I did. I measured and rolled pieces. I made decisions. I helped Susan bring down a big box of wrapping paper from one of the sunday school rooms. Cindy and I went through it, pulling out the best rolls. Some of it was folded. And some showed signs of being chewed. We threw those away. I cut strips of paper to wrap around the rolls so I could put price tags on them. We priced stuff really low.
A lady I didn't know, but clearly Susan did, came and looked through the fabric pile. She chose a bunch to buy. All she had was a $20. So we looked for change. I found a $10 bill and 9 ones in my wallet. Stacey gave me the lady's $20 and I gave her my $19 in change. Stacey gave the lady change and handed me the purchase price to put in the money box. I owe someone $1 but I don't know who.
There were two tall shepherds hooks in the narthex that hadn't been priced. I was told that those items were going to be priced by men. When? I wanted to buy the hooks and Stacey was certain that they would be 2 for $5, but I only had $20's. I was told to write that I owed for the hooks on a piece of paper and put it in the box. So I did, not knowing how much they might be priced at. Then Stacey and I put them in her car. (How are they going to price them when they are not there?).
We headed back to base. Stacey was on her phone most of the time. We reached the guard station at 4:25 so I asked her to stop at the post office, which closes at 4:30. We got there just in time. I ran in, opened my mailbox and got the yellow slip, then raced to the front desk to claim my package – more Swanson supplements.
Stacey dropped me off at my house. There was another package waiting at my front door. It was in sad shape. Stacey got the shepherds hooks from her car. I pushed them into the ground by the house. I took my packages inside. I watered my plants, then unpacked my two boxes. The damaged one contained a foam roller, and nothing else, not even a packing slip. There was an e-mail from Amazon saying two items had been delivered. So I spent far too long finding out how to contact Amazon to say the second item was missing.
I ate a banana and chocolate and nuts for a late lunch, as well as finishing breakfast. I read e-mail and listened to another summit. I went for a walk. When I got back, I drank water, and checked e-mail again. I took a quiz to find my Ayurvedic profile. Then I had supper, consisting of an egg, cheese, corn and strawberries. Unlike the last 4 days, I had to think about what to eat.
I noticed Chris had called while I was out for a walk. I watched one episode of Royal Pains. I tried out my new foam roller, but it wasn't as good as the cardboard tube filled with newspaper. Chris called me on Skype. We had a nice chat. He was feeling better, but he was tired and committed to getting up early tomorrow. He went to bed, and I stayed up to write to my blog.

Busy or ugly?

I went to bed really late last night because I didn't want to wake up to urinate. I don't remember my dreams last night, so meat may or may not have been involved. I did sleep in a little.
I did the usual morning stuff. I made and ate kitchari for breakfast, glad that this is the last day. I cut some strips for the strip quilt. I packed it my sewing case to take along. Then I got dressed and went to quilting.
When I got there, the table was mostly full, so I set up at the very end. A number of ladies came over to see the quilt I was working on. I got to explain over and over that I was just finishing someone else's project. We discussed how busy it was and was it worth taking things apart to try a different sashing. I didn't think anything could save it, and I didn't want to waste any of my perfectly good fabric on sashing it. Carol suggested that I turn a few blocks around to give the viewer's eye a chance to rest. I laid out the blocks and discovered that I didn't have them all. So I just sewed what I could. By then only Christy and Rhonda were left. I packed up the power strips, then my stuff and I went home, stopping at the gas station on the way.
I drank some water, read some e-mail, then ate kitchari for lunch. As usual, it was filling, but not very exciting. Then I went out back to mow the lawn. That wasn't very exciting either. I plugged the mower in to recharge. Then I came in and wiped off all the sweat.
I read e-mail. I found the remaining blocks and sewed them in place. I stopped when I realized that it was the perfect take-along project for Monday. Then I ate the rest of the kitchari while listening to a podcast on the carnivore diet. My head says it doesn't make sense to live on animal products alone, but my gut was all in favor of it.
I called my tapping buddy and we tapped on her issue for over an hour. It would have gone longer but she was tired. So then I called Chris on skype. He wasn't feeling well. So we talked briefly and he went to bed. I finished the carnivore diet interview. She didn't say she took supplements on her meat diet. So I checked her website, and saw that she sells Vit D, and a few others.
Then I watched one episode of Royal Pains. I used the massage ball while watching the screen. Afterward, I put some more baking soda on the scalp around my ear. I thought I had found the answer to the itch, but apparently the effect is only temporary. I typed up my blog post and took a few last swipes at the fruit flies. Then I got ready for bed.

At least they're clean

I don't remember much about my dream last night except that it involved eating meat. I kinda think I dreamed it the previous night also. It must have been really good because I slept late.
When I got up, I played the next episode of some summit. I went through the usual routine to get ready for meditation morning. Then I put on some meditation music and did a lot of tapping.
I resumed the episode when I started cleaning. I kept swatting at fruit flies who just won't die (or go away). I sprayed them with hydrogen peroxide as they landed on the mirror. I now have the cleanest mirror and fruit flies in the area.
I cooked kitchari as I cleaned in the kitchen. Then I showered and dressed. I watered my plants. On my way back into the house, I found two small boxes sitting by the door. I must have walked right by them. I took them in and opened them: horsetail, and colostrum.
I had a few bites of the kitchari, then went to the clinic. She wanted me to write down the addresses of all the massage schools so she could go there and find a graduate to work in the clinic. She brought me two steaming hot, organic cobs of corn. I thanked her and said I couldn't eat them right now. I asked for a foot detox bath and he agreed. While I was sitting there, she asked me to change something on her phone screen. Knowing nothing about it, somehow I got lucky and the change happened. She had a second thing for me to do and I stumbled into that solution as well. He gave me a box of jujube juice. I thanked them and left.
I went to the post office to check the mail, but it was all ads. Back at the house, I looked for loan calculators to see how much money we could save on our church loan if we paid extra principal. But the inputs were wrong. Two different online calculators gave me two very different answers.
I went for a walk around the circle, wishing I had time for more. But time was tight. I ate half of the kitchuri as lunch, even though it was 5pm. Kitchari is a good diet food because it doesn't taste bad, but it is also not tasty enough to overeat.
Then I headed to church for a stewardship meeting. We discussed the budget, which our committee is supposed to come up with, even though all we deal with are the donations. It went for about an hour. Then I went home.
I put the recycling in a paper bag and took it out to the street. I also put in some boxes. I called Chris on skype, but he wasn't home yet. So I ate the rest of the kitchari, then soaked more rice and beans for tomorrow. I read some e-mail, then put on Royal Pains. Chris called while I was watching and rolling my leg muscles. We talked for a brief time. He wasn't feeling well, and thought he had a fever. So he went to bed and I finished my TV show.
I drank some ginger tea and started writing my blog post. I brushed my teeth and swatted more flies. I also sprayed them with hydrogen peroxide. All I need now are some potatoes to go with the meat I'll be dreaming about tonight.

Two libraries in one day

I fell asleep a little faster last night. I stayed in bed through the alarm, went back to sleep but got woken up by the big mowers cutting the lawn beside our house. I got up then to drink, brush and swish. I auditioned two pieces of fabric next to the panel. I applied more baking soda to the scalp around my ear. Seems the more I do it, the less effective it is. With a towel, I swatted at fruit flies that kept landing on the mirror. They were quick but I was persistent.
I got dressed and looked for some handwork to take to quilting. All I found was a seam that needed ripping. So I took that. I arrived before 10. Susan was giving out pumpkins that were covered toilet paper rolls. Anita and two others were cutting circles from fabric. Beverly had another circle cutter so we cut some circles, too. We left soon after 11. We talked about buttermilk in the parking lot. On my way home, I stopped at the post library to return my books and checked out another paper book and audiobook.
I warmed up some kitchari in the toaster oven while watering plants. I ate while reading e-mail and watched an episode. I couldn't eat it all, so I put it in the fridge. Dad called about the fat bombs. I told him to check the front porch and he found them sitting in the sun. So I stayed on the line while he opened the box. I talked him through opening the thermal bags and putting the bags of fat bombs in the fridge. Why this took 40 minutes, I can't say. Anyway, I got some sewing done while he worked.
At 2, I left for the church. I stopped at the public library to hand in a book I found. But the lady said it had been pulled from the collection years ago and she marked it as discarded. I proceeded to the church and parked in back. Two ladies were clearing out shelves to add to the yard sale piles. I went in the office and recorded donations on the computer. Susan pulled a sealed copy of Windows XP from a shelf and was going to throw it away, so I took it. When I was finished printing reports, the ladies ducked in to tell me they were leaving. After they left, I perused the rummage sale items until Elaine arrived. Then we treated each other for sensitivities to … whatever. We discussed the benefits of CBD oil, and structured silver. Then we headed out.
I went to the bank to deposit the church funds. Then I backtracked to the farmer's market. I parked on the other side of the tracks and walked across. I noticed a pain in the left side of my back. I'll bet it was from swatting the fruit flies. I bought velvet cheese from the goat farm people. I went to the meat lady and she said she didn't have buttermilk this week after all. So then I went home.
I rolled the garbage can out to the street before going in the house. I ate cold kitchari for lunch and watched part of an episode of oral health. My neighbor texted me that she killed a black widow on her back porch. Then I went to the guild meeting across town. The pain was still taking my breath away and I told the lady across the table from me about swatting fruit flies. It occurred to me that I needed a better story. The guild president was taking pictures of members as they came in. I let my hair down and she took mine.
I had brought my panel along to show for the curve challenge. Color me surprised when only one other person had something to show. For show-n-tell I had 4 quilt tops to present. After the meeting, I talked to Kelsi about Instagram. She had done a presentation before the meeting started and I missed it. She downloaded the app to my phone and tried to set me up with an account. But for some reason it would not go through. Then Amanda gave me 5 squares of solid fabric for the fabric challenge.
When I got home, I called Chris and ate the rest of the cold kitchari. The connection was bad so our call did not last long. Then I put half as much rice and beans in a container to soak for tomorrow. I watched an episode of Royal Pains and two of Frasier. I tried to stop the second one from loading, but my clicks were in vain, so I watched it through. Then I wrote up my blog post in prep for going to bed. I tried to finished setting up the Instagram account, but I got locked out for violating community standards.

The bombs are in the mail

I slept well last night except for waking up once. I woke up before the alarm went off. I brushed and swished. I had put mung beans and rice in water to soak, covered. I rinsed them. I put ghee in a sauce pan and toasted the spices, then added the beans and rice. I poured water to fill up the pan, then put on the lid and waited for it to boil. I took the fat bomb utensils from the microwave where I had hidden them from the fruit flies. I made one last batch of fat bombs and poured them into the mini-muffin pan. When the kitchari boiled, I turned the heat down so it could simmer for 30 minutes.
Then I turned on the router. I cinched the trash bag and set it by the door. Fruit flies covered it. I got the vacuum to suck them up, but most got away. I got dressed and took garbage out. I deleted the first round of e-mail, then ate a bowl of kitchari for breakfast. I listened to interviews, and considered my next step on the panel on the floor.
At noon I went to quilting. Construction workers had roped off parts of the sidewalk, including the ramp from the parking lot. So I had to carry my machine up the curb and several steps. When I got inside, I told Dinah there were tubs of fabric to share with the group. I set up in the back, then went to join her. On the way back from the quilter's closet, she showed me antique quilts hanging in the gym to turn it into a temporary sanctuary. They were beautiful and I should have taken a pic.
I finished sewing the colorful blocks from Thursday. They needed a border and I had not a clue as to what to use. So I started on the Fandango quilt-as-you-go. I followed the directions in sewing the strips on, and it was slow. No wonder someone decided not to finish it! I took pics of some of the other quilts in progress.
At three Carolyn and I packed up our stuff and the room. We wrestled our machines out to our cars, and went our separate ways. I went home, and ate a bowl of kitchari for lunch. I listened to an interview from the oral health summit. At 4, I paused it to pack the fat bombs and freezy packs in insulated bags, which then went into a Priority Mail box. I stuffed some puff-its into the small space left. I put in an envelop, then taped the box shut.
I went to the post office and checked our box. There was a yellow slip for a package. So I went to the front desk and got a form to fill out for the fat bomb box. I decided it would be a bad idea to say there were bombs in the box, so I called it coconut oil. The box was cold, which made me wonder if there was enough insulation. I asked for overnight shipping, knowing it would be expensive, but not expecting it to be $70. I turned in the yellow slip and the man handed me a box from Swansons. And I returned home.
,First I called Dad but William answered, saying Dad was out with Faye. So I called Faye who was helping Dad at his appointment with the personal trainer. I told her to tell him to expect a box tomorrow.
I texted Stacey and read e-mail until she was ready. Then we walked around the neighborhood. We had a nice chat. When she went home, I ate a bowl of kitchari for supper. I had made way too much, so the rest went into the fridge for tomorrow. I chewed it really well to make digestion even easier.
I cut strips while listening to some interview. When it was over, I called Dad to tell him about the fat bombs which should be arriving tomorrow by three. I talked to him until Chris called me on Skype. I talked to Chris until Patrick called my phone. Finally, I brushed my teeth and slapped at fruit flies landing on the bathroom mirror. I made ginger and chamomile tea. I looked for triphala or haritaki among my many supplements, but I did not find either. My ear was itching again, so I put more baking soda on it.
Instead of watching TV, I listened to the last CD of the audio book so I could return it tomorrow. It captured my interest and I rolled out my calves and shoulders while it played. After it was over, I got ready for bed and posted to my blog.

Not so slick driving stick

I woke up several times during the night. Wholetones might have had something to do with it. I also had some trouble breathing and wondered if I was coming down with something. So I was tired enough to sleep in. It was after 8 when I got up. I took a shower and got dressed. I put on 4 vitamin patches. I checked e-mail, then grabbed my grocery list and extra plastic bags and foam trays, and went to church.
I came in the back door so I could stop at the restroom before meeting anyone. On the way past the fellowship hall I could see tables set up around the walls and yard sale stuff on them. I said hello to a few people, talked to Susan, then went into the sanctuary. Don was happy to see me. We talked about the retirement village he is now living in. It sounds like a good place for Dad.
After church, people started moving things from the vestibule into the sanctuary to make room for rummage sale stuff. I helped with one thing. I got a sheet to put over a table that didn't get moved. I helped set out stuff in the seasonal/craft room. But when I noticed it was almost noon, I bugged out. I wanted to get down Bailey Cove to Publix before the big churches let out and blocked traffic.
When I got to Publix, I picked up the few things on my list, except for rosemary, which they were out of. I also looked for pea sprouts, but there were none, and no place for them, as if they had been discontinued. Then I checked out and went home.
I took the food out of bags, and washed the cans. I changed clothes. I mixed and poured another round of fat bombs. Then I made breakfast, and ate it while listening to something. I read a few articles as well. I tried sewing a few triangles and laying them beside my green-blue-orange panel.
I texted Stacey to see if she wanted to go walking, but she was busy. I ate lunch, then went walking by myself. It was the weekend walk. I saw a number of fine specimens of poke weed, with berries ready to harvest. When I got back, I mixed up and poured another batch of fat bombs. I put some Sta-bil in Chris' gas tank. Then I had to drive it for 10 minutes to mix it properly with the gas. I had forgotten how to drive his car, so it was awkward at first. I didn't remember which pedal was which. Sadly, even after 10 minutes of driving around, I still wasn't sure.
There were fruit flies in the trash. I sprayed it with bug spray but that did not keep them at bay for long. I broke open a coconut from Publix and ate part of it. It was actually good, which previous ones were not. Then I looked up fruit fly traps and made one. I covered the trash to encourage them to find the trap. I made a salad, using up stuff that will go bad. There was vinegar in my salad so the fruit flies followed me to the computer. I ate and swatted as I skyped Chris. Nothing new down his way. Then I watched one episode each of Frasier and Royal Pains. I rolled out some knotted muscles while I watched.
I sat down to write my blog post, but got up to check on a boo-boo on my finger. I used the magnifier lamp. There was no splinter in it, but I spied a bag of fabric strips nearby and had to investigate. It was an incomplete kit. I read the directions, which were not easy to decipher. Then I put it all back in the bag and went back to my blog.

The many uses of coconut

I woke up from a dream in which I couldn't find a bathroom that I could get to. I used the nearest one then tried to go back to sleep. It was 8 till I got up. I did the usual stuff. Then I took a shower to wash the baking soda and coconut oil from my hair. I sang 'ding dong the itch is dead' as the water poured over my head. It felt so good to be itch-free!
I put a load of laundry in the washer. I got dressed and read e-mail. I listened to two CD's of the audio book. Several tracks were a little messed up, so I listened to the second one just to get a feel for where the story was going. I made and ate breakfast. I listened to interviews from several different summits. I sorted and cleared lots of fabric from my sewing table. I got vague ideas for other quilts, but had to restrain myself. I laid out coordinating leftovers beside the panel on the floor, but nothing grabbed me.
I had a late lunch of banana, nuts, coconut flakes and buttermilk. My head started to itch just a little, so I treated it with the baking soda and coconut oil mixture. Then I mixed up coconut oil and protein powder. I poured it into a silicon mini-muffin pan and left it in the fridge to harden. I put in a second load of laundry and dried the first one. I folded laundry while listening to Ben Greenfield talk about the benefits of unschooling kids.
I looked at multiple recipes for kitchuri, trying to find one that was quick and easy. I am going to do the kitchuri diet. I popped out the solid fat bombs and put them in the freezer. I poured another round and stuck those in the fridge.
I called Al and asked him about the Sta-bil. He said to put extra in the tank since the gas was not fresh, and then to run it for 10 minutes. After the call, I texted Stacey to see if she was ready for our walk. She needed 10 minutes, so I watered the plants and checked the house mail.
Stacey and I walked and talked around the neighborhood. When we got back to my place, we kept talking. It got dark. Then she went home. I went inside and found that Chris had called on Skype. I made a quick salad and threw in a can of soup. I called him back. We talked for a bit while I ate. Then I hung up and got some cheese. I ate while watched one episode each of Royal Pains and Frasier. I also rolled out my calves again. Then I sat down to write my blog post.

Catching up on intervews

I got up more or less on time. I brushed and swished and took supplements. I put on an interview. There are a bunch of gut summits running this week and it's hard trying to keep up with all of them. I studied my project and decided to do a bargello row. I made and ate breakfast.
After breakfast I put on my bathing suit and laid out in the sun for half an hour. Then I put on some Icy Hot and mowed the rest of the back yard, I came in and sat down at my sewing machine. Just then something bit me behind my right knee. I put some icy/hot on it and a little tea tree oil. The pain stopped and never came back. My head started to itch for the first time since the baking soda treatment. I think it was due to sweat. I washed the area gently and the itch went away.
When the post office re-opened, I drove down there to check the mail. I was expecting a package, but there wasn't one. When I got back, I ate a banana and some nuts and the last of the cherries. I sewed a little more, finishing the row and inserting it between striped strips. I made a salad and ate it while listening to another interview. I thought the interviewer did too much talking and not enough time listening to the guest speaker.
I finished off the last of the beef tongue. I went out to check the house mail. It was on the way back that I found a box on the porch. How did I not see it on the way out? I went for a walk around the circle. When I got back, I watered the plants. I carried the box inside and unpacked it. There were some food items and freezer bricks inside.
I watched an episode of SIBO SOS. I rolled out kinks in my calves and shoulders, using the massage ball and cardboard tube. I watched an episode of Royal Pains. When it finished, I saw Skype had a message for me. It was from Chris, so I called him and we talked for a short while. Then he went to bed and I watched an episode of Frasier. Then I took a few last supplements and drank a lot of water. I answered an e-mail and wrote my blog post for the day.
* Okay, so it is all in one piece, but I don't know what to make of it. *

Ditching the itch

I went to bed very late last night because of napping. There was the usual loud ringing in my head. I matched the high pitch with my voice. When I stopped, the ringing had stopped! For 5 seconds anyway. So I did it again, several times. Always the same result.

My alarm rang at the usual time but I did not get up until 8. I replayed the last few tracks of the book on CD because I slept through them yesterday. I did the usual morning stuff. I listened to an interview and rolled muscles at the same time.
At 11 I made and ate breakfast. I packed my 4 latest quilt tops in a bag. Then I cast about for a project to work on. I looked through the tub with the Fandango quilt parts in it. But I would need to cut strips to go with it. So I grabbed the wallhanging and some squares. Then I went to quilting.
On the way to Stitch-Its, I stopped at an auto place to buy a bottle of Sta-bil for Chris' car. When I got to my destination, there were very few cars. I carried my machine inside and set up between Marjorie and Pat. Pat gave me a gift bag to say thanks for helping her with library stuff this past year. There was a large pin cushion, wipes, an ornament, and a small jar of 'quilt starter'. Pat held up my quilt tops for me so I could take pics of time before I turn them in.
I sorted my squares from light to dark. Then I sewed them together in pairs and then in 4 patches. But there were more darks than lights so I needed to cut more squares.

On the way home, I stopped at a thrift shop to look for a crock pot. But they only had small ones. Then I went home. As I was pulling stuff from my trunk, I noticed my neighbor leaving her car. I called out to her and we talked for some time standing in the driveway.
After our chat, I ate a banana with chocolate and nuts. I drank some coconut water and went outside to mow. I got about halfway through when the battery ran low. So I plugged in the mower, and raked the grass.
When I came in, I ate some of the beef tongue, thinking it did not come out well. Maybe a pressure cooker would do a better job. I considered the curved panels I had sewn and the fabrics I had thrown over them. I decided to cut two squares, cut through them and sew them back together in opposite order. I placed those blocks by the strip curves, but nothing suggested itself as a next step.
I looked up cradle cap. It can be caused by a fungus, so I mixed baking soda with coconut oil and rubbed it on the scalp around my ear, well into the hair line. It stung! But once the pain faided, the itch was gone as well. Lets hope it lasts. I also looked at tuning forks on Amazon again. Then my phone rang. It was Lars letting me know that a certain offering check was designated for Still Serving Vets. I promised to make the change next week.
I made and ate a salad, which led to me being a little late calling my tapping buddy. But it was ok with her. We tapped for my issues of worrying about things I can't see, like wi-fi, air pollution, GMO ingredients, pesticides, toxic chemicals, geopathic stress, etc. For once, it did not seem to help. I had a headache and it was getting worse.
I called Chris on Skype. We talked for awhile. He said his replacement finally got his exceptions to policy and the whole process could now continue. During the conversation, I realized that someone is having a birthday and I forgot to send a card.
I watched en episode of Royal Pains while drinking cups of water. I turned on Wholetones while I wrote my blog post. I wore my blue-blocking glasses to rest my eyes while I typed. When I finished, I chose a pic and posted my blog so I could go to bed.

Which fork to use?

I got to bed very late last night because my laptop kept waking up and I kept putting it to sleep. Finally I had to shut it down completely.
I got up around 8. So I got a late start on coffee morning. I did the usual exercises, took the usual supplements (including mimosa pudica every half hour), and meditation. Then I cleaned and vacuumed.
I showered and got dressed. I went to the Korean clinic. Dr. Grace was not there. I showed Dr. Lee the container of pickled garlic and mentioned that there was aspartame in it. Dr. Lee showed me that he now had a Georgia acupuncture license. He wanted me to look up flights to Honolulu. I spent a long time doing that. I could not find anything he thought was reasonable.
On the way home, I stopped at the post office. I recycled everything in the box. When I got home, I drank some water and ate two yellow tomatoes. They are so good! Then I went for a walk and picked more poke berries. I wore some Icy Hot on my shoes and shorts and wristband. I was surprised that I did not get bitten. When I got back, I took out the recycling in a paper bag and dropped it in the big container. I checked the house mail and ate fruit. I listened to an interview. I drank some of the juice from the crock pot and ate the onions at the bottom of the jar. Then I had a piece of the meat. I sat in the recliner to listen to a CD from the book. Eventually I laid on the couch, still listening and I fell asleep.
When I woke up, it was dark. I turned on the light. I had some fabric strips to work with, trying to complete a curve challenge by next Tuesday. I was sorting through all the pieces of fabric on my sewing table when Chris called on skype. I sat down to talk to him. Nothing new, really. I asked for advice on how to find cheap flights to Honolulu.
When the call was over, I watched one episode of Frasier. Then I wrote my blog post and listened to part of another presentation on biofield tuning. While it played, I rolled the muscles of my legs. Then I looked at tuning forks on Amazon. It got very late so I went to bed.

The last of the lettuce

I went to bed, but the ringing in my head was so loud I couldn't sleep. So I laid on the sofa, where the ringing was not as bad. I spent most of the night there. I woke up to use the bathroom and then moved to the bed. I don't remember when I got up, but I never heard my alarm go off.
I took the first supplement, and read part of a book. I brushed and swished. I washed dishes and crock pot parts. I washed up and got dressed.
I went to quilting with some Christmas fabric to donate to make stockings for Tut Fan. I sat at the table and joined in the conversation. I had an e-mail for Susan so I read it to her. Thelma wanted me to send it to her so she could print it out, along with the attachments. I had trouble doing that with my phone. We eventually succeeded, but in that time, I could have gone home, printed it from my computer and come back.
Beverly showed me her 'bee' nails. Apparently they are like stickers for your fingernails. There was a small tub of fabric on the table with the makings of a Fandango quilt. The other Beverly took some of the extra copies of the instructions, but she didn't want the fabric part. So I took it, thinking there were plenty of squares done such that I could easily knock out a few more and come up with a small quilt.
Beverly and I left together, but then went our separate ways. I skipped the Asian market and went home. I took more supplements and aminos. I put on my suit and laid in the sun. Then I washed off again and got dressed. I made and ate breakfast, while reading e-mail.
I went to church to enter the offering in the computer. When I finished, I called Elaine and she said she was 10 minutes away, so I waited. When she arrived, we did clearings for sensitivities and chatted. She showed me how to use a foam roller on the different muscle groups.
Then I went to the bank and deposited checks and cash. The machine had trouble running the checks so the man had to check every one. When it was all done, I doubled back and went to the farmer's market. I stopped for cheese first, buying the extra sharp one. It was so sharp it has to be eaten with something else. I bought a bag of yellow roma tomatoes, which turned out to be the tastiest I have had in a long long time. I searched the market and got the last head of lettuce there, and for the season. I spoke with the lady who sold me the beef parts.
Faye called then, and wanted Michele's address, But I had to go home to get it. I asked her to call back because I might not remember. Faye called as I was parking. I called her back when I got the food into the fridge. We had a nice chat. She told me that Yvonne was able to use my DNA results to verify those of our greatgrandmother. Wow! Then she had to feed the cats and I had to feed the Fern and take her for a walk. I ate some beef tongue and cheese and took my lunch supplements. I got a shoulder bag with a plastic bag inside and walked around and behind Housing. There was a large poke weed plant and I was able to harvest some poke berries. I wore dabs of Icy Hot and was pleased to find on my return that I had no bug bites at all, though I did search for ticks just in case.
I read e-mail and listened to an interview. Chris called me on Skype. We talked. I made a salad. I discovered that the pickled garlic had aspartame in it, so I picked them off the salad and threw them away. I added some elderberries and poke berries. I watched two episodes of Royal Pains. I lasered some points and rolled a few leg muscles. I sat down to write my blog post. The last update forced on my computer changed the way it responds to my camera so I had to figure out a new way to download pics. When I finished writing down what I could remember from my day, I posted it and went to bed, somewhere.

Life throws me curves

I woke up early and could not go back to sleep. So when daylight arrived, I got up and dressed and went for an early walk. When I got back, I watered the flowers and pulled some weeds. I fired up my laptop. It had rebooted during the night. Sigh. I opened Edge and a talk show started playing. I could not find any tab for it to shut it off. I tried an internet search with no luck. I decided that Edge wasn't showing me the tab. I rebooted the laptop again, and then the tab was there and I shut it off. Phew!
I folded some fabric to cut borders from. It was a long narrow piece. Somehow the top fold and bottom fold were not parallel. I couldn't explain it, so I cut strips anyway.
I took supplements. I got out the crock pot and cleared some space to plug it in. I must have jostled the dial on the stove because I began to smell gas. I located it and turned it off and left the kitchen for awhile. When I came back, I put meat in the crockpot, with water and turned it on. I sliced up a bunch of onions and turmeric root to go with it. While it was heating, I returned to my laptop to go through e-mail. An hour later, I checked on pot and discovered it was cold. I turned it off and back on. It started to heat up. But 20 minutes later, it was no hotter. I tried different outlets, but no luck. So I took out the other crock pot that has no liner. I lifted the liner out of the first one and stuck it in the second one. It did not fit well, but it did get hot, so I left it that way.
I read e-mail and listened to more of the QnA from last night. It was mostly about parasites. I made and ate breakfast. I put some things in my Swanson cart for later. I turned the crock pot from high to low and went quilting, taking my machine and two tubs of fabric.
When I got there, I carried in one tub, then went back for my machine. I set the tubs at the front of the room and invited everyone to look through them. Only a few people did. I set up my machine and started sewing on borders. I had two quilts that needed borders and I finished them both. By then only Lauri was left. I didn't want to leave her by herself, but I needed to check on the crock pot.
I packed up and went home, stopping by the post office. There was nothing in our mailbox worth blogging about. I checked the crock pot and decided the beef tongue was not quite done. I turned the dial back up to high. I ate a banana and nuts for lunch and took the lunch supplements. I read e-mail for awhile. Then I cut off a piece of the tongue and ate it. The onions were not soft so I left it cook some more.
I opened a bag of scraps that Rebecca had given me. It was mostly short strips, some sewn together in rows. I pondered what to do with them. I decided to piece some curves for the curve challenge next week.
I went for a walk. It cleared my head. I wondered if there was still gas in the house because my head hurt there but not at quilting and not while taking a walk. As I came back, I saw our neighbor check his mail and it reminded me to check ours. Nothing.
I called Dad. He told me about going to the reunion, but it was hard to understand him. Then I called Chris. I told him about my day. He said his interview went well. If he gets the job, we may end up in Houston. After the call, I put the beef and onions in a series of jars to cool off and fit in the fridge.
I watched an episode of Royal Pains and one of Frasier. Then I showered and put on my nightgown. I turned off the AC and opened the back door. I finalized my Swanson order and listened to a bedtime meditation. Then I posted to my blog.

Shopping in the dark

I got up before my alarm went off. I had been dreaming but I can't remember it now. I took a shower and wrapped my head in a towel while I checked e-mail and listened to something. Later, when I unwrapped my hair, I found myself able to scratch 'stuff' off my scalp on the right side. Dead skin? I got dressed and went to church.
I parked in back so I could stop at the restroom just inside the door. The light was very dim and flickered badly. I turned it off when I left. I walked to the narthex. Ron made some comment about troublemakers. :) Eric greeted me energetically and we talked about his wife coming home. I went in and sat by Don. The service started before I could read the bulletin insert.
I listened to the readings, but the sermon was about something else and I wondered if I missed something. Later I wanted to check the bulletin but I had already put it in the recycle bin at church. I mentioned the bathroom light to the head of Property. I also chatted with Jennifer and Susan.
I drove to Publix for groceries. The lighting was very dim, but they were open for business, running on generators. I picked up the usual. I had to really search for undented cans of coconut milk. I got oils and soup. Then the lights came back on. I went over to the produce section. I was able to get bananas, but the refrigerated sections were covered with tarps. I wasn't allowed to lift the tarps until the temps had been restored. However, a nice man in a store uniform went in the back and got me two packages of asian chopped salad mix.
When I got home, I changed clothes. There was a message on my laptop that it needed to update so I let it. I put the food away, and washed all the canned items. I read some e-mail on the desktop while waiting for the long update to finish. Then I spent all afternoon deciding which supplements to take over the next 14 days. I tried to improve the process but could not think it through. I took a break at 2 to lay out in the sun for a few minutes. Then I finished up the supplements. I made and ate breakfast although by that time it was more like a very late lunch.
I called Michele to find out how she was doing because Rowan died. She mentioned that she cooked pork in her crock pot. So then I called Chris to ask about cooking beef heart in the crock pot. I opened the freezer to get it and found a beef tongue first, so I took that from freezer and put it in the fridge to thaw.
I read e-mail for a bit, then went for the weekend walk with dabs of Icy-Hot on my limbs. I haven't been bitten while wearing it, although it is too soon to tell if it is just coincidence. When I got back, I saw Cecily was inviting calls, so I called. Al answered with Cecily in the background. He mentioned a product called Stabil that I can put in Chris' gas tank to keep the gas fresh until he comes home.
I commented on the Fox reunion Facebook page. I read some articles, then watched two episodes of Royal Pains and one of Frasier. I lasered acupuncture points and drybrushed while I watched. Later, I took magnesium powder and washed it down with hydrogen water. Then I wrote up my blog post while listening to part of a QnA call from one of the recent summits.
* This was the cake served at the reunion. I grabbed it off of Facebook. *

Sewing at home

I heard my alarm go off at 7:30 and must have fallen asleep again because it was an hour later when I got up. In addition to the usual morning stuff, I played the next CD from the book and did some sewing.
I called Chris several times on Skype and left voice messages. I also sent e-mails. I was getting quite worried. And then it occurred to me that maybe the electricity on post was out. So I went on Facebook to contact his Honduran friend Herberth. But the first thing that popped up was a post from Marie saying her dog Rowan had died. I found it very upsetting because I know how it feels to lose a furry friend. Then I navigated to Herberth's page and messaged him. I also messaged Becca and she said she hadn't heard from him.
I put a load of laundry in the washer and concentrated on making breakfast. But I noticed it was sunny out and just after noon, so I stopped, put on my bathing suit, and laid out on the reclining lawn chair. It was nice to be out and not get bitten. When I came in, I finished making breakfast and sat down to eat it in front of the laptop.
Apparently while I was outside, Chris had e-mailed me. So I called him on Skype but he didn't answer. His message said he tried to call last night, then went to a friend's house to watch football and drink too much. That didn't sound like Chris. I got angry because I was so worried and he didn't leave a message. Skype gave no indication that he had called.
I put the next CD on and resumed sewing until the top was complete (minus borders). That took most of the afternoon. I did get a hold of Chris around 3. He was about to take a shower so we didn't talk long.
I mixed some of the buttermilk with ground papaya seeds and drank it, hoping to use the milk as bait to get the parasites to consume the seeds. I may never know if it worked or not since most parasites are too small to see.
I had a can of soup for lunch/supper, and some seed crackers. Then I took a walk. It was supposed to be the weekend walk, but since it was so late, I cut it a little short. I had little dabs of Icy/hot on to deter bugs.
When I got back, I read in the bathroom. While I was out, Chris sent me a message on Skype, which I saw later. I messaged him back and he called me. We talked for a bit, then he went to bed early. I watched two episodes of Royal Pains. Then I got ready for bed before posting to my blog.

How to find paints and PVC

I heard my alarm go off and stayed in bed a little longer. I don't remember how long it took me tl asleep last night. I listened to the next CD of the book while I sewed strips. I discovered that one of the pieces had a stain after I had sewed it on. I tried to wash it out, but failed. So I cut another piece and sewed it on. Then I did some squaring up.
I took my supplements in order. I made more hydroxyapatite mix and mouthwash. I turned on the router and read e-mail. One from the Tuesday group said they needed Christmas fabric. I looked in the garage first. I found paints and PVC. Then I went to my sewing room and selected a pile to donate next week for the Christmas stockings. I did some research and finalized my Amazon order.
Beverly called. I talked to her while I made breakfast. After the call, Julia came over for the keys, since I had asked her to drive Chris' car. (He was supposed to be here for beach week and drive it himself, but that didn't work out). While she was gone, I mowed the lawn quickly and showered. Julia came back, and said she didn't leave post because an indicator light was on. I sent Chris an e-mail about it. Then I went back to read e-mails and listening to interviews.
At 2:30 I went to the post office. I asked questions about how to mail chocolate overnight. He said all mail goes out in the evening so bring it late in the day. I picked up a box to use later. Then I proceeded to see my massage therapist. She was ready, but we talked for half an hour before we got started. She was investigating a new device that is supposed to protect a whole house from radiation of all kinds, without interfering with cell phone signal.
After the massage, I paid her and we talked a little more. Then I went home. It was 5pm, but I chose to call the seed crackers I ate lunch. I took the lunch supplements with it. I listened to a podcast and sewed a few squares together. I picked a green and purple fabric to make another border for a quilt from last week.
I declared supper around 7. I made a large salad, using up the last of the greens, and ate it while reading e-mail. Then I listened to a podcast on the health benefits of lucid dreaming, also called dream yoga, while I sewed some more. I kept sewing for a few minutes after the interview ended. Then I called up Royal Pains on my laptop, thinking Chris would interrupt it shortly. But he didn't. This episode was a cliffhanger, so I started a second one then realized I still hadn't heard from Chris. I paused it to call him, but he didn't answer. So I watched the second episode. Still no call from Chris. I brushed my teeth and got ready for bed. Then I sat down to write my blog post. When I finished, I turned off the router and went to bed, hoping to hear from Chris in the morning. Maybe I'll see him in a lucid dream.

Wandering Whole Foods

I guess I slept pretty well last night. I woke up before the alarm went off. I smelled the seed crackers and realized they were still in the cold oven. I put them in a bag in the fridge. I listened to one CD of a book while sewing. I had to wear headphones so the sewing machine would not drown out the narrator. Then I looked up how to mail fat bombs without them melting. Some company in England makes thermal bags. I found out dry ice is -109 degrees F. Yikes.
I pushed myself away from the computer to go to my chiropractic appointment. I remembered to bring a book and the electrodes. I did not get much reading done however. Pretty quickly I was taken back to have my spine stretched. After 12 minutes of that, I sat in the hallway. I read a few pages, but then the doctor called me in. I showed him the bottle of bromelain I had. He wrote down the info because he was impressed with the number of GDU's. It is one of the few supplements he sells. Then we talked about stem cells and such while he adjusted my neck and back. Then I went up front to pay. The lady said I still had a credit on my account. Strange.
When I got home, I made and ate breakfast. There was a black film growing in my fermented coconut milk jar. So I switched to a clean jar. Then I read some e-mail, and put a set of strips in my sewing caddy. I took it to the car and went to quilting.
Two ladies were leaving just as I arrived. Leanne was there and I sat next to her. We all joined in conversation. I forwarded a message to Carol using my phone. She said she could find homes for some machines that a lady in the Monday group had access to. I sewed the strips together into a set, except for the last two rows. One of the strips was too narrow at one end, and needed to be replaced. My massage therapist texted me that she has an opening tomorrow so I took it.
Leanne had some time to kill before a hair appointment so we went to Whole Foods and wandered around. We each found some things to buy. Rotisserie chickens were $2 off, but only for Amazon Prime members. I got some cashews from the dispenser and tried to weigh them. I thought the machine would give me a ticket with the weight and price, but could not figure it out. Finally a store person came along and said you have to write down the weight and let the clerk calculate it up front. So then we checked out and parted ways.
I went home. I ate some seed crackers for lunch. Then I went for a walk. I listened to another CD while relaxing in the recliner. I wished I could listen while walking. I nearly fell asleep in the recliner. When it was over, I made a salad. The lettuce was wilting, so I put the rest in water to revive. I ate the salad, then my tapping buddy called. She wanted to tap surrogately for a family member. So we did.
After the tapping call, I skyped Chris back. We didn't have much to say. Then I watched one episode each of Royal Pains and Frasier. I lasered points on my ears as I listened. About 10, I wrote down the events of the day. I prepared for bed. My fingers came across something that felt like a tick, but turned out to be some stickiness from the electrode pads. However, there was something tiny on my wrist that had a hard time letting go. Even with a magnifying glass, I could not tell what it was. A red mark was left behind. I lasered it. Then it was time for bed.

More complicated that it should be

I went to bed, listening to a book on CD playing on the computer. I must not have fallen asleep because I realized when it was repeating and got up to turn it off.
When I got up this morning, I played the second CD of the book as I brushed and swished, etc. I exercised and listened to three meditations from Oprah and Deepak. After my coffee morning, I cleaned. At noon I put on my bathing suit and laid on the lawn chair for a little bit. Then I took a shower and got dressed. I stacked the dishwasher and ran it just before I left.
I went to the Korean clinic, forgetting my phone. He wanted to order some krill oil from Swansons. That sounded easy, but somehow it wasn't. Their site wasn't showing the product label so I searched for it online. Amazon had it for $1 cheaper, but his account was old so we had to update. But finally we did get it ordered and sent to the right address.
They were concerned that their bid on a house was rejected but they were not told the reason. I said I didn't know if there was a law about that in Alabama. Then I checked her e-mail for a letter from the student loan people. There were two: one said her paperwork was accepted and she didn't need to make payments for another year. The other one said there was a message in her account inbox. So I had to sign in to her account, which is never as simple as it should be. The message said that her paperwork was incomplete and that she owed over $1200. So she insisted that I call. I had to use her phone. A recorded message said her payment amount was 0, but she insisted that I talk to a live person. The wait was so long that he brought me a foot detox bath while I waited for the next available clerk. Eventually I worked out that the first e-mail was right – her paperwork was complete and accepted. By the time the detox bath was over and the massage that follows it, she was gone. He thanked me for coming and I promised to see him next week.
I went to the post office and found nothing in our box. Then I stopped by the library to pick up the book that I reserved. When I got home, I watered my plants and then our neighbors across the street. I fixed a salad for supper and noted that it was now raining. Sigh.
After the salad, I finished reading the book about the ship lost in time. I was still hungry, so I ate a banana and some nuts. Then I listened to interviews while I made seed crackers, hardboiled eggs, and cut up a new batch of ginger and turmeric roots for tea. I took my evening supplements early and got sleepy. I emptied most of the dishwasher. I called my dad, but William answered. He said Dad only had 5 fat bombs left. We talked for a little bit, but he had to go home. I expected Chris to call, so I called him, but he didn't answer. I wrote up my blog post for the day, thinking of going to bed early. I started the next episode of Royal Pains and Chris skyped me. He seemed more interested in getting back to applying for jobs, so we did not talk long. I finished the episode and got ready for bed.

Unloading even more fabric

I had stayed up way too late reading, so I did not feel like getting up in the morning when my alarm went off. But then I remembered it was the start of a busy day. So I brushed and swished and got dressed. I took supplements and finished the Dr. Gray interview, then got ready for the Tuesday group.
I went to quilting early because I thought I had a doctor appointment at 10. But the appointment card in the cup holder said it was for Thursday. Too late, I was already on my way. I carried in a box of fabric to the quilters. I sat and talked with the small group there. But then others arrived. Anita pulled the fabric from the box and laid it out. Then the ladies looked it over. Jody came in and took a bunch. She also took the whole bag of tomatoes someone had brought in. When I questioned her, she took a few out and put the others back. I took Beverly out to my car and gave her some 30's fabric from my trunk. I knew she liked them so I saved them for her. Then we went back in, with me carrying stuff for dog beds. Some ladies started spray-basting quilts. The smell bothered me so Beverly and I moved to the other end of the room and laid out blocks for her twister quilt. We also talked about a shirt she was asked to make for a stuffed bear. Anita had brought in a sewing machine she got on a yard sale that didn't have a foot pedal. I had brought one from home and it just fit. We determined that the machine worked. Then I packed up my pedal and left with Beverly. We each drove to the Asian store for kimbap. Then I went home.
I ate my kimbap with kimchi already in my fridge. For some reason, it wasn't hitting the spot. So I made a small bowl of breakfast and ate that. Then I read e-mail and listened to an interview for awhile, before getting ready for my Tuesday afternoon activities.
I went to the recycling center to drop off a bag of glass, but the center is now closed, permanently. I continued on to my bank, where I got some cash. Then I went to the church. It was not deserted like I expected. Lifeline was using it to do screenings. I went to Jennifer's office to get the figs that she left for me. Then I went to the church office to record the offering and print reports. Elaine showed up before I was done. We talked, then I finished the reports. We found an unused room in the back and did our clearings. When we were done, she went home and I went to the bank to deposit the checks and pick up more deposit slips.
My next stop was the farmer's market. I got a zucchini and a squash. I picked up some buttermilk and some tomatoes, as well as a beautiful head of romaine and some swiss goat cheese. Then I went home. I put away the food and the buttermilk. I checked online for places to recycle glass but could not find any. I checked the mail. One junk letter for us and one for a previous resident.
I mowed the rest of the lawn. The mower got covered in bugs that looked like little gray hyphens. I sat down and read my book The Ship Beyond Time. I lost track of time reading it.
It was after 8 when I started supper. As I was fixing a salad, Chris skyped me. I finished the salad, then ate it while talking to him. His interview today went well and he has another one scheduled for next week. I finished listening to the talk in the interstitium. I took out the trash. I watched an episode of Frasier. I posted to my blog for yesterday and again for today. Then I got ready for bed. As of this moment, I am not sure what strategy I will use to try to get to sleep. Reading did not work last night.
* Just a pic of an idea I saw online a few days ago. *

Unloading more fabric

I woke early Monday morning. I found laundry in the dryer and folded it. I rewrote my Viome list with the updated results. A lot of the foods in the 'Minimize' list had moved to the 'Enjoy' list. But the 'Avoid' list still held almonds. cucumbers, chickpeas, bell peppers and garlic. Sigh. I did another clearing for almonds while listening to the depression summit. I printed out another copy of my supplement schedule. I lasered points on my cyst, which is either really small or gone. Then I made and ate breakfast and put a bin of fabric in the car,
I went to quilting. It was Birthday Monday, but not many ladies were there. I set the bin where others could look through it, but they didn't take much. I put borders on two quilts. I talked to the other ladies in the room. Our biggest conversationalists were not there. Afterward, I took the bin of fabric back to my car and went to the post office. There was junk mail only.
I went home. I ate a banana and some chocolate, then a dented can of soup I mowed most of the lawn, but the battery ran down so I plugged it in to recharge. I did not feel so good, so I took some charcoal. Later I tried to throw up, unsuccessfully. I sorted through a bag of batting and scraps, pulling out a few and saving the others for dog beds.
I listened to a Dr. John Gray interview. I paused it when Chris called. After his call, I watched one episode each of Royal Pains and Frasier. Then I started reading a book and couldn't put it down. Finally I went to bed without posting to my blog, thinking I would go directly to sleep. Ha.
