The unexpected day

After posting to my blog last night, I read about pokeweed and how people traditionally used it for food and medicine. Then I collated the recyclables and left them in front of the door for Chris to take out in the morning.
It was after 8:30 when I got up. But at least I had done my healing visualization for my teeth. I put my Chillow in the fridge. I brushed and swished and sewed the last strip to the block. I trimmed it and added it to the Tuesday pile. I zigzagged the edges of a towel to stabilize them. I took a packet of vitamin C and ate a fat bomb. Beverly called from quilting to say the ladies wanted sheets of packing paper to make iron caddy patterns. So I packed the paper and everything else I thought of in my sewing gear and went to quilting.
There was only one table of ladies there, but the level of interest in the project had blossomed. Anita had a pattern taped to the window. She used the paper I brought to trace more copies of the pattern. Beverly showed me the pattern she copied. I turned it over and drew one from scratch using rulers. Two ladies showed me the iron caddies they had made just from the directions. Then I set up my sewing machine. Anita gave me a stack of batting pieces that needed to be joined together to make blocks. I covered two of them with strips, and took a third one home to work on.
I packed up around 11:30 and went to the Asian store for kimbap and pickled garlic. Then I went next door to see the Korean doctors. He had gotten an e-mail asking for a payment on his student loan. I called to find out what the deal was. Then I asked about her information to make sure her loan was on track. Then she had me write a letter to the owner of the space they are renting about things that need fixing. She gave me a plate of dried mango and banana plus a steamed cob of corn from her garden. When I pulled the kimbap from my purse, she said no, that the corn and fruit were my lunch and I should save the kimbap for supper. I showed her my poison ivy and she said to put onion juice on it. She also said that I am supposed to sleep with the onion juice on my head, not wash it out. Then she ran off to meet a patient, telling her husband to give me ten packets of onion juice. I stayed to finish the letter and the lunch. Then he gave me the10 packets. They came in a cute little box. I still had time before I had to go count money, so I went home.
Cecelia called just as I was getting out of my car. I talked to her while I pulled stuff out of the car and set it by the door. When the call was over, I unlocked the door and brought my stuff in. I ate over half of the kimbap with pickled garlic cloves. That was surprisingly tasty. But I was out of time, so I headed out to church. I was leaving two minutes later than I planned, but the parkway was finished so the traffic pattern was changed and much faster. I got there with half a minute to spare.
Susan was there waiting for me. We went into the sanctuary where she had taken the banner off the wall. We discussed options for it, and maybe a few other things. She told me that the church was switching out old computers for new ones and that Servant Keeper, the program that tracks the offering, was not up and running yet. So, after she left, I counted the offering, recorded it on paper for later, wrote out the deposit tickets and took it to the bank. The only fly in the ointment was a split check.
Once the deposit was accepted at the bank, I went to the farmer's market. I had my iron caddy full of scissors. I took them to the sharpening tent. They estimated it would take 3o minutes, but I didn't want to stand around that long. So I took one pair back for Thursday, and left the rest to be picked up next week. The next booth was selling pasture-raised meat. I wanted the beef heart, but she didn't have it with her. So I bought a frozen ham steak instead.
I should have gone straight home, but I forgot about the frozen meat and stopped at DATAC Computers to inquire about a new battery for my laptop. He said if I gave him the model number, he could order a battery and then I could bring in the laptop. A Tuesday or Thursday would be best. When I told him what kind of laptop it was, he said it would be best to order it from the company.
So I went home. Chris was there on his laptop. I put the ham steak in the freezer. He helped me read the model and serial numbers on the back of my laptop. If they were any smaller, I would need a microscope to read them! I called the company. She told me they had no batteries in stock and gave me a model number to look up on Amazon. So, after the call, I went to Amazon and looked up the number. I was taken aback to see that it was $80! I looked on NewEgg and the price was even higher! So I ordered it from Amazon.
I made and ate breakfast, then meditated. I almost went for a walk, but it rained on me. I texted Beverly for a pic of the barn block. Then she called to tell me about a quilt retreat next July. Jennifer and Julia texted me during the conversation, so I texted them back afterward. I listened to the speaker Jennifer recommended. I massaged onion juice into my scalp, let it dry, then drank the rest of it.
We watched two episodes of Continuum. Chris made his sandwich and went to bed. I took my evening supplements. I listened to an audio while typing up my blog post for the day. I swished as I wrote. Then it was time for bed.

Mystery berries

I got up about 8:30. I brushed and swished, first with chocolate toothpaste and then with the ozone cream. I sewed a strip on to this week's block. I read e-mail and listened to an audio. I put onion juice on my head while listening. Afterward I took a shower. I made seed crackers while making and eating breakfast.
Just before noon, I went to quilting, stopping to water the plants and then to get gas on the way. Only a few ladies were present when I got there. I set up at a corner of the table. I worked on the blue blocks, taking some apart and replacing pieces to make the drab blocks more interesting.
Around three, I packed up and came home. I brought my sewing stuff inside. I noted that it must have rained at home, even though it did not rain at quilting. I put on my bathing suit and laid outside in the sun. I rubbed a ginger ice cube on the patches of rash. It seemed to help. I decided the cube did such a good job, that I rubbed it on the scalp behind my ear. But the effects did not last long there.
When I went inside, Chris was home from work. Jennifer texted me about having the same rash. We traded things we were trying for the itch. (It feels so good to scratch it, that it ought to be illegal in public.) I looked up poison ivy treatments on the internet. I ordered zinc oxide.
I took a walk and photographed some berries I saw growing in a small tree. When I got back, I printed out some copies of the iron caddy instructions for tomorrow. I ate some cashews because they are part of the same family as poison ivy. I made and ate a big salad. I listened to some shorter interviews online. I gathered my scissors to take to the sharpener guy at the farmer's market tomorrow.
I sewed all but the last strip to the block on progress so I can turn it in tomorrow. Then we watched two episodes of Continuum, now in season three. I added tea tree oil and ginger oil to some coconut oil and smeared it on the itchy bumps. I investigated a mis-quote on my Facebook page. I drank valerian and kava tea, then swished with green tooth powder while I wrote up my blog post.

The shirt experiment didn't work

I got up around 7:15. I scraped my tongue, drank some water, brushed and swished. Then I sewed a strip to the block. With a hand needle, I stitched very close to the zipper teeth in Jennifer's skirt. It was tedious work to hold the teeth back while sewing. It did make the zipper invisible. Then I removed the clasp from one cutoff strip and sewed it to the skirt. But then I could not find the other part of the clasp.
Chris had the router on. I took a shower, got dressed, then sat down to check e-mail. I started listening to an interview. I had to pause it to grab the package of date balls, and go to church. I watered the plants quickly on the way to the car.
I arrived at church and promptly hit the restroom. I sat in my usual spot and Cecelia sat beside me. I was afraid something had happened to Don, but he was just late. The three of us worshiped together. After the service I went out to my car to get the bag of dates balls. I took it into the fellowship hall and poured them out onto a plate. Then I stood in line with Roz. We chatted and picked up some food, then sat at a table to eat. I didn't get much, but did pick up three of the date balls.
While I was eating, Jennifer came in to attend the Sunday School meeting. She spotted me and we talked for a bit. She told me what I owed her, but by the time I got it out, she had gone back to the meeting. I did not want to show my face there because they might give me a job to do.
When most people had cleared out, I put the remaining date balls back in the bag. I went to Jennifer's office to get the shoes I had left in her car. Then I pinned the fabric leaves to the banner that Susan said she would take down so I could sew them on. Then I got in my car to go home. I didn't have my phone so I couldn't call Chris.
When I got home home, I changed clothes. Then we took Chris' car to Publix. We bought groceries and came home. We put away the food. I continued the podcast while making breakfast. After breakfast, I meditated with Oprah.
I cut more strips. When I was done, I had three bags stuffed full. (Black sheep, black sheep, have you any wool?) But I thought there should be more. So I went looking. I found more bags in the trunk and brought them in. I was tired of cutting, so I took a break to finish Jennifer's skirt. I also rinsed out the green shirt that I boiled two days ago. A lot of dye had come out of it, but none of it settled in the bleach spots. Phooey! A piece of white fabric that I threw in with it came out blue. When they were rinsed out, I threw them in the washer along with the blue/green batiks that I bought yesterday.
I watered the plants out back. I washed green leafies and made a salad. I showed Chris a new itchy spot just above my liver. I asked if it looked like bug bites or poison ivy (although how either one could get to that spot is beyond me). He chose bug bites. I rubbed them with a frozen strawberry and the itch stopped for awhile.
I listened to a tapping call. I jotted notes for my blog. Chris roasted cauliflower in the oven and cooked some ground lamb. I ate some of each. I turned off the AC and ironed the batik fabrics. I turned the AC back on and returned to my laptop.
I watched an episode of The Orville on Fox network. The site gave me 60 minutes to watch it and I almost didn't make it because of the commercials. I cut more strips.
When Chris was ready, we watched two episodes of Continuum, finishing season 2. Chris made his sandwich and went to bed. I made a relaxing cup of tea and wrote my blog post.

A walk in the woods

I got up at 8. I drank some water, then brushed and swished. I changed thread on my machine so I could sew more strips. I check messages to see if Jennifer gave me a time to meet. I put onion juice on the side of my head and let it dry there. Then I took a shower and got dressed. Then I saw a message from her reminding me that we should wear pants and socks and to meet her at 9:45. So I dressed again and hunted down my thick walking shoes. I put them in a bag along with a can of coconut water and bug spray and the last of the seed crackers.
I headed out about 9:15. I drove to Costco and locked up the car. I stood around, watching for her. I texted her a few times. She pulled up right on time. I got in and we followed the GPS on her phone to Rainbow Mountain.
We were late and it was her son giving the talk. But he waited for us. And as soon as we arrived, we went in search of the bathroom, which turned out to be a porta-potty. Then we gathered with the others under the pavilion to hear his talk. He talked about finding plants in the forest for food and medicine. He had a jar of 'lemonade' made from sumac and we got to taste it.
Then we went on a short walk through the forest. He stopped often to indentify a plant and tell us about it. I took pics and notes on my phone, but wished I had been smart enough to bring paper. At least I brought bug spray.
After the walk, he talked about some books we could invest in on foraging. We signed up for his e-mail list. And then we got in Jennifer's car and went back to Costco.
She had a Costco membership so I went in with her. I had been told Costco had Sonicare electric toothbrushes on sale 2 for $60. But all we saw was $40 off of $155, too expensive for a toothbrush. So she showed me around. There were some good deals in the produce aisle so I got a few things and she got cherries. We also got the six-pack of ginger kombucha. We looked around some more but she had all she needed since her husband had been there earlier today. We checked out and wheeled the car out to our cars. I tried to pay her but she said she would figure it out at home. I put my groceries in my car and we parted ways.
I went out the back way to Oakwood and over to Huntsville Sew-n-Vac. I went to the batik section and picked out some ocean looking ones. Since there was produce in my car, I chose quickly. But the sales person wasn't in a hurry. When it was cut, I took it to the register and told her I was a member of a local guild. So she gave me 20% off, which was nice. Then I went home.
Chris was there on his laptop. I put groceries away. I washed the strawberries and put them in the freezer. I washed some cherries and shared them with Chris. I ate the rest of the liver and then made and ate breakfast. I found the same deal on Sonicare on Amazon that Costco was supposed to have. So I ordered it.
I searched through ASMR videos to find something interesting. I read e-mail. I cut and sorted fabric strips while listening to a podcast. I dusted my laptop from all the fabric strips.
I took a walk around the neighborhood. I saw a tree with lavender berries on it and wished I had my camera to take a pic. When I got back, I had to pull a million little sticker balls off of my pants and socks. I read e-mail again until Chris was ready to watch TV. We watched one episode of Continuum and three episodes of McHale's Navy, finishing the DVD from Netflix. Chris put it back in the red envelop. We put clean sheets on the bed. I boiled some water for soaking nuts and for making tea. I had some leftover so I made a saline solution to use as a compress for the skin around my ear. I held it there for a bit but I didn't feel anything so I shook more salt on top of the wet cloth and then held it to my head while I played Solitaire. Before long it got itchy so I stopped. It was time to get started on my blog.

A good day for stripping

I got up at 8:45, surprised it was so late. I brushed, drank some water, then swished while sewing a strip to the block. Then I worked on Jennifer's skirt, practicing my speech about how I don't have luck with zippers and hers is an invisible zipper which requires a special foot that I don't have, and furthermore if it doesn't fit or she doesn't like it, I am not doing it over again.
I got dressed and turned on the router. The laptop was being unresponsive. So I unplugged it for a second and it 'came alive'. That trick worked last night as well, surprising me that such a simple thing could get it's attention. But I didn't trust it as a permanent solution. So I rebooted the computer while the cursor was still under my control and that seemed to cure the problem.
I considered taking my car to the dealership to have the turn signal checked. Looking at my blog for last year, I saw that I bought it on July 25th, so it is technically over a year old. I called the dealership and the lady said I had a 30,000 mile bumper to bumper warranty. I tried to explain what was happening with the blinker, but she said I needed to talk to a repair person. She left them a message to call me, but no one ever did.
I put my green shirt in a gallon of hot water to simmer on the stove. The green dye bled into the water and hopefully will stick in the spots where the bleach took it out. I liked the green so much that I put some white fabric in as well.
Here are some notes I took from an interview.
Drink 16 oz of straight celery juice for gut health. Fruit is critical for longevity, particularly wild blueberries. Many people have some form of the Epstein barr virus which make them susceptible to all kinds of mystery illnesses like RA, Lyme, fibromyalgia, migraines, ALS, MS, and lupus. Epstein Barr feeds on eggs, dairy, corn, canola oil, gluten and some chicken. To fight it, you need the right kind of B-12, and zinc: adenosylcobalamin with methylcobalamin. Elevated biotics are stronger than probiotics. They live on leaves in your garden.
I looked for more pumpkins forming in the mess of vines out back. I didn't see any. I removed grass from the narrow channels between the fences. When I came in, I cut strips of fleece while listening to a tapping video. I saw the sun come out so I got a towel and laid out for awhile. Chris was inside when I came in. He had brought a package from Swansons from the post office. I opened the box and put each bottle in its place. I laid my head on the dining room table and used an eye dropper to spread onion juice on the right side of my skull. When it dried, I continued cutting strips and listening to yet another podcast.
I paused it when Faye called. We discussed time off for the holidays and their recent trip to PA. After the call, I cut more strips and continued the podcast. When it finished, I took a walk (and did some running). I checked out the blackberry patch, but the vines were all dried up, which was odd because everything else was green.
When I got back, it was almost 8. I made lots of salad. When I had eaten it all, we watched one episode of Continuum and three episodes of McHale's Navy. Chris got on his laptop and I swished with Dr. Christopher's Tooth Powder while typing up my blog post.

The AC is fixed

I was somewhat awake and doing mental programming when I heard a knock at the door. It was close to 9. I threw on a robe and let the maintenance man in. He turned on the AC and went outside to look at the unit. I brushed and drank water and sewed. Then I got dressed. Finally he came back in and used a small device to check the temp of the air coming from the vents. It was 54. Then, as he was leaving, I got a call from Housing asking about the toilet that needed fixing. I told them that it wasn't urgent.
I played an interview and read e-mail. I watered the plants so I wouldn't get sidetracked later. I started a loaf of bread. I made and ate breakfast. Then I rolled my cart out to the car and went to quilting.
There were lots of ladies there, even though it wasn't potluck day. I pulled a chair up to the table and talked to Pat. She wants me to help her decide which donation books to keep and which to give away. Susan took a pick of me with my new bags and posted them on the Facebook page. After Pat left, I talked to Christie. Rhonda helped me lay out my blue blocks on blue fabrics to audition sashing. We discussed how some of the blocks needed re-doing to spice up some and tone down others.
I left at 2:15 and went to DreamMaker. My masseuse wasn't there yet, so I wandered about looking at stones. When she arrived, we went into the massage room. She had me fill out some paperwork. Then she left while I undressed and got on the table under the sheet. It was too hot for a sheet. When she came in, she pulled it back from my legs. I was face down so she did my back and legs, then I turned over and she did my legs, arms and neck. She paid particular attention to my left shoulder and ankle as I requested. I felt pretty good when I left.
When I got home, Chris was just unlocking the front door. I brought my sewing stuff in, then went back out to check the mail. There were two packages. I opened one and it held some toner and cleanser. Chris opened the other and it was a proxy vote package. I let him handle it. I drank some onion juice and put the rest on my scalp. I read e-mail while eating liver and pickled garlic. Then I made a big salad and listened to a podcast.
When it was over, I put the laptop to sleep so I could move it to the guest room for my skype call. I washed the onion juice from my hair. Still having a few minutes, I went outside to inspect the pumpkin. It broke off in my hand as I tried to check the bottom for rot. So I brought it in. Even though it was orange, Chris said it wasn't ripe yet.
I waited a minute or so for my tapping buddy. We tapped together for an hour and a half. I allowed her to use the tearless trauma technique, not knowing what would come up. When it was over, I made a cup of hot bone broth with ginger.
I read e-mail until Chris was ready. Then we watched one episode of Continuum and on episode of McHale's Navy (which came in the Netflix envelop today). Afterward, Chris made his sandwich and went to bed. I stayed up to take my evening supplements and post to my blog.
* Sadly it was a little rotten on the bottom. *

Busy day at home

I got up at 7:29, just before my alarm went off. I got dressed and went for a walk around the circle to reset my circadian rhythm. On my return, I watered the plants. I sewed strips to the block in progress. I worked on Jennifer's skirt a little bit.
I brushed and swished, drybrushed, and exercised. I had some vit C and aloe left so I rubbed it on my scalp. I made coffee, meditated and tapped. I put the jar of milk kefir in a bag to protect it from gnats, but they clustered on the bag anyway. Later I put it in a second bag and that seemed to work. I washed hosiery and hung them in the bathroom to dry with a box fan going. I washed dishes, cleaned the kitchen and bathrooms, and vacuumed the bedroom.
I listened to an interview:
Glaucoma is Alzheimers of the eye and Alzheimers is glaucoma of the brain. Alzheimers is less than 2% genetic, often lowers the immune system and allows infections, and inflammation. Beta amyloid plaque is the body's attempt to protect itself so don't take medication to reduce it.
I laid out in the sun, but the sun went behind a cloud. I watered the plants again. I soaked the balls of dyed fabric in Synthrapol. I washed the bathroom rugs and two panels. I made a trap for the gnats, but it didn't catch any.
I opened a pouch of onion juice and poured it in a cup. I drank over half. I found an empty eye dropper bottle and used the eye dropper to put onion juice on the part of my scalp that so recently itched. I put on another interview and laid on the couch so I could listen as the juice dried. Later, I took a shower and washed it all out. I watched an ASMR video with spirograph and from there found myself watching roller coaster videos and wishing I had a heart rate monitor.
Chris texted that his interview in Mississippi went well and he was on his way home. He must have really wanted that interview to drive so far to get to it.
I rinsed the Synthrapol out and ironed the dyed fabric dry while listening to an interview. I had turned off the AC because a) it made too much noise, and b) the inside temp was up to 84 and not going down. I folded the dyed fabrics and lined them up for a photo. I sat and listened to more of the interview. I took a break to checked the house mail. It was nice outside so I opened the doors to get some air flow before the sun set and the bugs came out (a problem because there are holes in the screens.)
I listened to more of the interview with Dr. Jeffrey Thompson. It was so interesting that I needed breaks to digest it all:
Stress is the cause of disease. Retrain your brain for homeostasis using the power of sound. Everything is connected in time and space. The universe needs consciousness in order to exist. If a tree falls in the forest and no one is there to hear it, then there is no tree and no forest.
I cut up all but one lemon to made lemon cubes. I squeezed the last lemon to get the juice I needed for hummus. Then I cut it up, too. I blended all the pieces in two batches. When I pulled the ice cube trays from the fridge, I found a whole tray of lemon cubes. Sigh. I put them in a bag and poured a new set of lemon cubes. Then I used the blender to make hummus. Chris came home while I was blending chick peas. I was encouraging it with a wooden spoon. I guess I encouraged it a little too deeply because the next thing I knew, I was holding a wooden handle and there was hummus everywhere: floor, cabinet, toaster oven, bread machine, divider, stove, my face, microwave, range hood, etc. As I cleaned it up, I had to ask myself if licking fingers was allowed on a fast.
By the time it was all cleaned up, Chris was ready to watch TV. We saw one episode of Continuum. Then he made his sandwich with the last two pieces of bread and went to bed. I stayed up to blog and finish (although it's pretty long) the last interview.
* Hand-dyed fabrics. I had hoped the color would be darker. *

The cure is worse than the disease

I got up at 7:45, I swished and sewed the last strip to the block. I made and ate breakfast even though my stomach wasn't ready for it. I read e-mail and meditated with Oprah and Deepak. I read a bit of e-mail. Then I packed up to go sewing.
On the way to the car, I noticed the plants needed watering. I took a few minutes to water, then headed out. I arrived between 9:30 and 10. I brought with me paper patterns for the iron caddy. Susan took one. She showed me her first try and I thought it was fine, but she did not like it. I announced that I had packing paper if anyone wanted to copy the pattern. But only one lady did. Beverly took a pattern to copy at home. I turned in my completed strip block and got another one to work on. Beverly and I laid out a set of blocks and numbered them with row and column. She took them home to put together. We also cut some strips for her panel project.
Finally I went to see the Korean doctors. She was busy with a patient. So I asked him if the answering machine was working and he said yes. When she was done, she handed me her tablet and said it would not connect to the wi-fi. And she was right. I checked the few things I knew and had no luck. I googled the problem. I tried their solutions. Finally, they recommended a reset. I was worried about it but she said go ahead. Well, when it came back on, it was in English, not Korean like before. When it asked for the password, I typed it in from the modem, not the piece of paper she had. And it worked. But not quite like it did before. Anyway, I got the music playing that she wanted.
Then she examined my ear. She laid me in a treatment room and swabbed the side of my head with onion juice extract. She rubbed it in really well and cleaned off all the dead skin cells. Then she put acupuncture needles right behind the ear. She said I should swab the area with onion juice extract every day and let it sit for half an hour. Before I left, she gave me packs of onion juice extract which she makes on site.
I drove to the church knowing I was going to be a little late. Tim was supposed to meet me at 2 and I called to say I would be late. He said he'd be later. So I counted the money as quickly as I could. Then I made out the deposits. I started entering it on the computer. He arrived just as I got to the last two checks. He showed me the capitol fund report and how he makes it agree with the bank statement. After our discussion he decided to make a few changes. Then he went home.
I finished entering checks and cash and looked at the online giving statements. I printed the reports I needed and checked the totals. Then I drove the deposits to the bank. I could have backtracked to the farmer's market, but I had a headache so I just went home.
I got to post about 5. I drank some water and ate liver and garlic while watching a video on benefits of cricket powder: high in iron, prebiotic fiber, b-12, etc.
I ate some seed crackers as I read e-mail. Then I mowed the back yard. When I came in, I washed the onion juice out of my hair. I doubted I would be smearing this in my hair everyday for the next three months. Scratching would be easier.
I read e-mail, and watched part of a video. It seemed far too long for the content. I took out the trash and put the can by the curb for pickup tomorrow.
I mixed sodium ascorbate with a slice of aloe, crushing the gel with my fingers. I spread it over the right side of my head and behind my ear. The intention was to cure the itch in a much shorter time than the doctor predicted.
Then I laid on my left side and watched episodes of Frazier through Netflix. Chris called around 9 to say he had arrived at his hotel. We talked for a few minutes, and then he hung up. I went back to watching Frazier. The gel dried by 10pm. I signed out of Netflix. I sat down to write my blog post. I got up to take my evening supplements and swish. I wiped the bows on my glasses with alcohol. I printed out a copy of the offering sheet and one of the caddy instructions (including fixing it up first). Then I sat down again to finish the blog post so I could put ozone cream on my gum and go to bed.
* This is the block I made, which just happens to be the first block of the quilt Beverly is going to make. *

Making progress on the panel project

I watched ASMR videos last night hoping it would help me sleep. And they may have, but not as quickly as I'd like, plus it was 11:30 so that may have been part of it.
I woke up in the morning and did some visualization for the cavitation healing. When I got up, I was surprised to find it was 8:30. I rinsed my mouth with the mouthwash and scraped my tongue. Then I drank a cup of water and brushed my teeth with the chocolate remineralizing toothpaste. I swished while sewing strips onto the block in progress. When it was down to the last one, I left it for tomorrow.
I turned on the router and read e-mail. I listened to Day 1 of the new meditation series by Oprah and Deepak. I hope I can keep up even though experience tells me otherwise. I did three forward head rolls on the bed. I rinsed out 6 balls of dyed fabric and left them to dry a little in the laundry room. I made and ate breakfast. I got a text asking for prayer, so I thought for a bit, then said a prayer. I got dressed. I packed up the panel project and added it to my sewing gear. I moved it all outside to my trunk. Then I watered the plants just before I left.
I arrived at quilting just after 12:30. They were finished with lunch and spreading out to sew. Some were leaving. I set up in the back. I talked to Susan about her project. Laurie was doing the same one. Bertha was doing a project that needed 1/8ths so she used my rulers. I talked with the ladies while I cut and sewed strips to the panel and got it all in one piece. It was 3pm so I packed up to go home.
I drove home. I brought my sewing gear inside. I trimmed the panel. I trimmed the skirt. I called the biological dentist to find more information on how to use the cream. She suggested using a q-tip. I ate some liver with pickled garlic. I was listening to an interview when Chris came home. We talked for a bit. Then I called Dad for his 81st birthday, which is technically tomorrow, but Tuesday is a busy day for me. And as it turned out, a busy day for him, too. He is going to have his head examined. I hope he finds the imaging place because he sounded a little unsure. I read e-mail articles and ate a seed cracker and some nuts.
I did some tapping and went for a walk. Several houses had their trash out, even though trash doesn't go until Wednesday. But there were interesting things on the piles. But I kept on walking.
When I got home, I made lots of salad and ate it. I played on my computer until Chris was ready to watch TV. Then the lady next door came over with some extra produce. I gave her some goat milk kefir. Chris and I watched two episodes of Continuum. He made his sandwich and packed his suitcase before going to bed. I swished while trying to finish my most recent game of Solitaire but it was nigh impossible. So now I am writing this blog post, ready to go to bed.

An interesting afternoon

Well, my ear didn't itch last night so maybe the vitamin C wasn't so bad after all. I got up at 7:45. I sewed a strip, brushed and swished and drank a quart of water. I read some e-mail, then got up to shower and dress. I ate a few seed crackers and a fat bomb.
On the way out the door, I gave the plants some water. Then I drove to church. Jennifer was sitting in my pew so I sat beside her. I looked for Susan after the service to talk about the banner, but apparently she wasn't there. I talked to Scott instead.
Then I went to Jennifer's house, She had lunch made. She showed me her skirt that she needed altered. Altering it was going to be a bigger job than I imagined. We had lunch which consisted of potato salad with avocado mayo and spices and olives and sunflower seeds. We had ginger kombucha to drink, and fruit for dessert. She showed me the special health products she gets at Cosco and online. I had a hot flash and she suggested going in her pool. So we put on our bathing suits and went in. It was the perfect temp at 83. Her son came over. She had him show me the pics he takes of edible weeds and mushrooms. She pointed out the squirrel who eats blossoms off of her rose-of-sharon tree. We watched him eat the petals off of several blooms and throw the cores down to the ground. So inspired, I chose a blossom for myself and ate a petal. It was faintly sweet. Then Jennifer wanted one so I handed one to her...good thing this is not the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.
We talked and swam back and forth across the pool. Then it started to rain so we got out and redressed. Her son said he was giving a talk and walk at Rainbow mountain on Saturday so we made plans to go. I picked up my stuff and all the things she gave me and left the house. She had told me to pick some stevia from her garden so I did. And then I went home.
Chris was home and started cooking liver and onions when I walked in the door. I unpacked my bag, taking out my wet bathing suit, the cucumber, the root patch, the chia spoon, her skirt, the strainer and a baggie of kefir grains.
I sat at my laptop and read an e-book about the care of teeth. I made up some mouthwash. I ate some liver and onions, then made a salad. Afterward, I swished with xylitol. I deleted a bunch of e-mail that came in today. Then, seeing the daylight fading, I worked on the borders of the panel. I cut some strips and ironed them.
I waited for Chris, and then we watched two episodes of Continuum. I made a cup of valerian root tea to sip as I wrote my blog post. When I finished the tea, I put ozone cream on my gum, but it would not stay there. Maybe I need to be lying down for it to stay in the back. But then I am going to swallow it, so what should I do?
* She showed me some Canadian money that she brought back from her trip. It is plastic, not paper. *

Auditioning borders

I watched a video of a sunset last night before I went to bed. It was about an hour long so I jumped ahead minute by minute to catch the effect but in a shorter period of time. Then I went to bed and laid my head on the Chillow to keep the night sweats away.
I got up about 9. Chris was already up and on his laptop. I did a couple of forward head rolls and realized that that was what made my triceps sore. I brushed and swished. I put my Chillow in the fridge. I sewed a strip to the block and pinned one for tomorrow. I took the seams out of two unattached sleeves, sewed them together back to back, and stuffed it with strings of fabric and thread.
Then I read e-mail. I searched both the laptop and the desktop computers for sleep hypnosis tracks. For some reason the search engine wasn't giving me what I wanted and I had to search manually. I listened to one and it was not exactly what I needed. Jennifer called and invited me to lunch tomorrow. Was it a coincidence that she wants me to help her alter a skirt? I ate dates and figs with coconut flakes and then with cinnamon. While listening to a podcast, I made and ate breakfast. After hearing a podcast on the wonders of vitamin C, I mixed some powdered vitamin C with coconut oil and put it on my ear. It was very grainy and scratchy. So I licked my finger to dissolve the grains with saliva. That made it burn. Another good theory shot to pieces.
The sun was out, so I put on my bathing suit and got a towel. I laid out in the sun for half an hour or so, turning from side to side.
I prepared leaf shapes for the church banner. I cut some strips to audition for borders. I needed inspiration so I searched for panel quilt pics online. I did not see any like mine, but I saved a few photos for later. I made a biiiiig salad to use up the rest of the salad greens. I went back to working on the borders again. I tried it with only the seafoam green fabrics, and again with only the yellow/green fabrics. It was hard to say which was better.
I checked e-mail and jotted notes for my blog until Chris was ready. Then we watched two episodes of Continuum. I rubbed ozone cream into my gums and posted to my blog. I plan to watch part of an AMSR video to see if it helps me sleep.

Taking care of a recall issue

I got up about 8:15, hearing my phone ringing. I had already been somewhat awake doing mental programming. When I checked the phone, it showed a missed call from a number I don't recognize. I did two forward head rolls. I put the Chillow back in the fridge. I drank a cup of water, then brushed my teeth. I swished the toothpaste in my mouth while I checked my messages and there was a long one about getting cash quickly. I deleted it. Then I sewed a strip onto the block in progress. I searched the sewing area for the barn block instructions but could not find it. I turned on the router and my laptop. I checked e-mail, looking for something to play while I auditioned borders.
I got distracted reading e-mail, I got dressed and moved the tomato plants. Since they are now sitting in the grass, I have to move them every day to avoid killing the grass.
I drove to the dealership. On the way, I was behind someone having trouble driving stick and I missed my turn so I had to turn around just before Joanns and come back. Hence I was a few minutes late. I went inside the bay and a man called the specific person I needed. That man took my keys and my car and said someone would come in 20 minutes to pick me up and take me home. So I read a book in the waiting room until he came. He had a company van to take me home, which relieved my worry that my car (and gas) would be used to transport other people. He had an ID and was able to drive me back to the arsenal.
I read about dry-fasting and that it is supposed to be even more beneficial than water fasting. I ate a fat bomb, then made and ate breakfast. I boiled water to pour over nuts for soaking. I listened to podcasts and read articles. I watched a video of a 93 year old man who took up quilting when his wife died. He has made over 300 quilts for his community in the last three years.
Another podcast was about the benefits of rocking, vibration, and circular breathing. That one, or the next one advocated that getting up at dawn each day and going for a 10 minute walk will cure all sorts of things.
I refilled the raw cacao container. I made up 17 days worth of supplements, putting aside the ones that needed reordering. Meanwhile I was listening to an interviewee who said if you pull your pinkie to the side and push your jaw foreward, you can't stay angry. Squeeze the middle finger for anxiety, and squeeze the thumb to stop ruminating thoughts. Tap CB, UE, CB to stop a craving.
At 3:45 I got worried because I hadn't heard from the dealership. So I called them. They had a different number for me. Anyway, they dispatched the transportation guy immediately. I finished what I was doing, and went outside to pull weeds until he showed up. He called as he came around the corner, not knowing I was already outside. I got in and he took me back to the dealership. Then he left for his next pickup.
I waited for my car to be brought around. The man apologized for having the wrong number. I checked Chris' numbers and it wasn't one of them. I don't know where it came from. He gave me a sheet of paper detailing what they had done to address the recall issue. He showed me how to reset the clock. Then I thanked him and drove off.
I made a right turn, thinking to take a right exit to get onto Rideout road. But when I got there, it was a left exit and traffic kept me from getting all the way over there. So I pulled off on a side road, turned around and came out at a light to make a left. From there it was easy to get onto Rideout and go in through gate 9.
When I got home, Chris was there on his laptop. I ate some beef tongue and finished my interview from earlier. I called DreamMaker and scheduled a massage. Someone from quilting called our skype number and asked me to bring a pattern on Tuesday. I packed the pattern with my Tuesday stuff so I wouldn't forget it. I went for a walk. I picked some berries but most of them were dried up. I saw a big swath of forest cleared by some large machine. It looked pretty devastating to the ecology. I wondered if the plan is to build something back there.
When I got back, I ate an avocado. I read e-mail and listened to another podcast. I clipped grass in the back yard until it started to get dark. Then I made and ate a salad. I re-ordered supplements from Swansons.
I put 4 frozen strawberries in a bowl and sat in the living room. We watched three episodes of Continuum. Then I took my evening supplements and rubbed ozone gel on the gum behind my molar. It's a hard place to reach. I put some on my ear, too. I don't know what it is doing for the gum, but it is not working miracles on my ear. Then I posted to my blog so I could get my Chillow and go to bed.
* This is the Chillow. It seems rugged enough not to leak. *

Next project?

I got up about 8. I drank a cup of water, then swished while sewing another strip to the block in progress. I laid out a panel and auditioned borders. I ironed a piece of paper for making patterns. Then I turned on the router. I watched interviews; one on choosing real olive oil. Real olive oil should taste bitter, leave a burning sensation in your throat, smell like a fresh olive, have two dates on the label: harvest date and best buy date in a dark bottle. I poured some oil out of my most recent purchase of olive oil. I swished it in the shot glass and warmed it in my hands. Then I smelled it and tasted it. It smelled a little like fresh mown grass (as the interviewer commented) and it left a burning in my throat. I checked the bottle and found both dates. So it passed all the tests. The information came from the Frantoi Cutrera , an Italian olive oil company.
I ate a fat bomb, then made and ate breakfast. I ate 6 cloves of pickled garlic. I was ready to go quilting and realized I had no project. So I grabbed some blues that might go with my blue blocks and added them to my cart. I rolled it out to the car and put it in my trunk.
I got to quilting before 12:30. I sat by Marjorie and showed her my black and white mondo bag. She showed me her midi bag in progress. When Christy walked by, I showed her the pic William sent me of the supposed Featherweight. Christy identified it at once as a model 66, just like the one she learned to sew on years ago. I texted the info to William. Pat told me that the guild was having a mini quilt show tonight starting at 6. That would give me just enough time to look around and get back for my skype call.
The lady across the table was new to me, but her mother was a regular. It turns out that she and her husband and son are gamers. So we talked gaming for almost 2 hours. I kind of wished Chris were there. I never did unpack my blue project to work on it.
By 2:30 I was packed up and back home. I made and ate a salad. I finished my document on the procedure for counting the offering and all the little duties that come with it. I printed it out and stuck it in my trunk with the bank bag. I added some goat milk to the kefir grains. I listened to a podcast while reading e-mail. I paused it when William called in response to my text. He talked while he worked. I played Solitaire for awhile, then started making a pattern. After William hung up, I got in an argument with Chris. I stayed to talk it out, and decided it was too late to go to the quilt show. I jotted notes for my blog. I looked for the barn project but could not find it. I ironed the three dry balls of dyed fabrics. I did not see the little wrinkle marks that were so nice on the original dyed fabrics. But there were some color variations.
I moved my laptop to the guest room. My tapping buddy called a few minutes later. I tapped with her for one of her issues. I finished the two patterns I was making. I wondered if my overhead projector could make the process easier somehow.
We watched two episodes of Continuum. I took my evening supplements and then put the ozone gel on my gum and on my ear. Since it is labeled 'not for ingestion', I wanted to let it soak in BEFORE I went to bed so I could spit it out before I laid down. Then I typed up my blog so I could head to bed.

The dyeing continues

I woke up at 7. I swished while selecting and sewing on two strips to the new block-in-progress. I pinned some strips for tomorrow. I scraped my tongue and brushed and swished again. Xylitol makes for a very tasty swish. I heated water for coffee. I tried to simmer it, but the flame went out when I wasn't looking. The thought that I might be breathing gas bothered me.
I took niacin and drybrushed. By the time it took hold I was ready to exercise. I forgot just how much worse the niacin flush makes the itch behind my ear. Arrrgh! I worked on copying my notes on counting the offering into a text file so it is easier to read.
I turned on the router to put on some meditation music. But the laptop could not find the signal. It found every other signal nearby. It kept trying to connect to hotels we have stayed at in the past. I restarted the laptop but that didn't help. So I restarted the router and eventually it connected.
I cut off a piece of aloe and put it on my ear to help with the itch. I pulled out the really big pot and put it on the stove. I put water and washing soda in. I threw in some white fabric, much like I used last time. There was little change in the water. But when I added a 9” wide strip of white fabric from a bolt, the water turned yellow. Uggh. I left it to simmer.
I tapped and meditated while listening to the music. When the caffeine hit, I cleaned the bathrooms and kitchen. I washed the dishes I use every day, and cleaned the coffee table. I checked on the fabric and stirred it. I dressed in my bathing suit. I put the battery back in the lawnmower. I mowed from the back towards the front so I was hitting the driest grass first. Covered in sweat, I hopped into a cold shower and rinsed the suit. In a minute, the cold disappeared and the hot water came through. I finished my shower and hung up the bathing suit to dry. I did a couple of forward head rolls on the bed. They made me a little dizzy, but it passed pretty quickly.
I opened the Amazon box to find the carbon monoxide monitor. I read the instructions and put in the battery. I placed it on the divider to be kind of near the stove. I was disappointed because I thought it would have a numerical readout. Also in the box was a chill pillow. I filled the chill pillow with water and put it in the refrigerator to get cold for later.
I listened to interview with a man who had a paralyzed vocal cord: Daniel Benor. I made some tea to feed my ferments. I also made a batch of seed crackers. Then I rescued the pieces of white fabric from their boiling bath. I rinsed them well, and scrunched them up. I put them in dye bags. I massaged them to get the dye through all layers. Some bags had so little dye left that I combined them with another of a similar shade.
I spilled some soaking sprouts. Hence, I mopped up the water and cleaned the floor. searched for sewing fabric for Beverly, and found it in a different colorway. Chris came home, said plants out front needed water, so I watered them.
I made up a bottle of spice mix for breakfasts. Then I took a walk and it was almost 50 minutes long. I saw small rabbits in the woods and some mistletoe growing in the trees.
I listened to some tapping podcasts, and made mug of hot bone broth I checked the house mail – nothing. I finished my podcast, and we watched two episodes of Continuum. Chris made his sandwich and went to bed. I stayed up to blog and then use my new chill pillow.

Busy Tuesday

I got up at 8, drank water, then swished. I sewed the last strip on the block and trimmed it to 9.5 inches. Then I turned on the router. I looked up how long it should take for lentils to sprout, and wondering if mine are doomed.
Then I worked on the instructions for the iron caddy. I tweaked the diagram and printed it out. I cut it out so I could tape it to the instructions and scan it back in. It wasn't a perfect scan so I had to clean it up a bit. Then I got dressed and took the recyclables to the curb. Hence, I got to quilting later than usual.
There was no one sewing. I turned in my strip block and got a square of batting and backing to make another one. I handed an instruction sheet to Susan who wanted to make her iron caddy at home. She looked for paper to trace the iron caddy on to make a pattern. I talked to both Beverlys and Jodi. I helped Jane pack up. After everyone had left, I asked Beverly about making a trip to Brentwood TN.
I went to the Asian store for kimbap. Then I went to see the Korean doctors. Dr. Grace was out. Dr. Jae asked me to delete all the messages on his answering machine because it was full. There were 65 new messages so I played them and delected each one. Most were blank. I recorded an outgoing message, then called the number to hear it. But after 10 rings it asked for a code. I guess that's why no one left a message. I asked for the instructions but he didn't have them.
Then he said I should have a detox foot bath. Who am I to argue? He brought me a tub of hot water and put the ionizer in it. I peeled off my shoes and footies and put my feet in the water. While I was detoxing and eating the kimbap, he brought me a packet of jujube juice. When the detox and foot massage were over, Dr. Grace was not back yet so I left.
I went directly to the church. I discovered that I had forgotten to bring the sheet of notes that tells me what to do. But I did what I could remember and I think the only that suffered was the handing out of reports. I did the ones I was sure of, put everything back the way I found it, and left. I drove to the bank and deposited the cash and checks. I decided I didn't really need to go to the farmer's market so I went home.
Chris was already there. He had found a package on the front step for me. I deleted most of the 100+ e-mails that came in today. I made and ate breakfast while listening to an interview. I e-mailed the directions to Jane as promised. I looked up the answering machine from the doctor's office and read about how to make an outgoing message.
Then I went to a meeting of the Modern Quilt Guild. I showed off the two bags I made. One lady talked about helping a neighbor guild which has a goal of making 1500 quilts for military kids who lost a parent. Yikes! I stayed to talk a little afterward. I got home by 8, and ate three dates with coconut flakes while checking e-mail.
I made an outgoing message for Dr. Jae and then left him an incoming message so he would know about it. Chris cued up Netflix, so we watched two episodes of Continuum together. He looked up one more character for me. I took my evening supplements, and swished with xylitol while writing up my blog post for today. I am looking forward to Wednesday and not going anywhere. It is my reward for getting through another busy Tuesday.
* From the MQG meeting: she said her mystery quilt turned out so badly that she couldn't even give it to someone she didn't like. I think it is fine. *

Finally got my oil changed

I got up at 8:30 after having a dream about living in a broken-down unsafe rental house.
I scraped my tongue, drank some water, and sewed all but the last strip onto the block-in-progress. Then I went to get a cube of lemon and found that a jar of goat milk in the freezer had fallen over and leaked. The milk had touched several things before it froze so I had to bring it all out as a unit and peel the pieces apart. I let it soften. The jar went back in the freezer and I washed off the cookie sheets and put the fat bombs away. The sock of rice had some milk on it so I moved all the rice to the other end and let it dry. Then I washed the end of it and put it back in the freezer.
I read e-mail while listening to the rain. I had intended to get my oil changed (since the readout on the dash is telling me the oil needs changing). But the rain was making me think twice. At least I didn't have to water the plants.
At 9:45 I paused an interview to get ready. I drove to the Chevy place for an oil change. I was surprised to hear that it would take an hour or more. He encouraged me to make an appointment to get a recall issue taken care of. That would take more than 2 hours. I sat in the waiting room reading a book and wishing the TV was quieter. After slightly more than an hour, he came back and said my car was ready and the keys were inside. There was no charge. I got in and went home.
Sitting in my driveway, I recorded the oil change and tire rotation in my car book at 6400 miles. I have had this car a few weeks shy of a year. I went inside and used the bathroom. I resumed listening to the interview. I boiled water for soaking nuts. I clipped the corners on the new fabric and stuck it in the wash. I made two loads. I called my local dentist to see if she gives ozone shots. Nope, and she didn't sound happy that I had gone to another dentist to find out that I had a cavitation. She did not have a treatment for cavitations. I tapped for the uncomfortable feeling I got from the dentist.
I rinsed the dyed fabrics, and ironed one piece. It did not have the beautiful wrinkle marks. I concluded that they came from leaving it scrunched into a ball AFTER being taken out of the bag and given a light rinsing. I got some more white fabric, but was too impatient to boil it for 4 hours. I crammed pieces into more bags of dye and one piece soaked up all the leaked dye at the bottom of the plastic tub that all the bags sit in. I put it in a bag of its own.
I turned off the AC unit so I could iron in front of it. I starting ironing all of the new fabric. Chris came home for work, bringing a package. I took a break to distribute the items inside and talk to him. Then I finished ironing and left the fabric folded in a pile in the guest room. I turned the AC unit back on and read e-mail.
Chris had an interview through his computer for a job in California. I listened to him answer the questions. Afterward, I went for a walk around the neighborhood. I made some plans to get ready for tomorrow. When I got back, he said William had called. So I called him back and forgot about the plans. I made a salad and ate as we talked. Chris finished up what he was watching on his laptop and made popcorn. We watched the first two episodes of Continuum. We looked up some of the familiar faces. Chris went to bed. I stayed up to blog and put out the recyclables.

The Secret of Moonacre

I put some ozone cream on the itchy bug bite last night, but when I woke up, it was still itchy. I had also put some on my ear, and it was feeling a little better.
I got up 15 minutes after my alarm went off. I scraped my tongue, and drank a cup of lemon water, Then I brushed my teeth, and swished while sewing a strip onto the block in progress. After that, I took a shower and then read e-mail waiting for my hair to dry. I ate a fat bomb and got dressed. I took my black and white purse and drove to church.
Susan was greeting people coming in the door. She asked to meet me after the service. Then I got a bulletin and sat in my usual pew. Don sat beside me, as usual. The pastor led the service. When we sang the last hymn, I noticed it was the same as the communion hymn. Afterward, I met Susan at the wallhanging. She pulled out some paper leaf shapes and arranged them on the banner to hide the offending 'L'. I agreed to do something with it. Tim and Jim came over to talk about financial reports. I tried to take pics of the brick wall behind the wallhanging, but someone was turning the lights out. Then I went to my car and called Chris to meet me at Publix.
I drove to the grocery store. I got a cart and went around putting in the stuff I could remember from the list. Chris arrived with the list and met me in Produce. We got some fruits and vegetables. I stopped by the Oral Care aisle to check out Sonicare toothbrushes, which the dentist recommended. There were two, a cheap one with expensive replacement heads and an expensive one with cheaper replacement heads. At that moment, I had a hot flash and felt like my head would explode. So I walked away. Chris went to check out and I went home.
When I got home, I changed out of my dress and hung it up. Chris came home with the bags of food. I helped take the items from the bags. Then I laid down for a nap. I did not think I had fallen asleep until I realized that the experience I was having was rather unbelievable. I don't remember it however.
I got up from my nap to make bread for Chris, but there wasn't enough flour. So he went to Kroger for flour and garlic. I made and ate breakfast while he was gone. When he got back, I finished making the bread. I read e-mail and looked at reviews for different models of Sonicare electric toothbrushes. Most complaints were about the batteries going bad.
I took a break to mow the back yard. But the battery went flat before I finished. I pulled it out of the mower and set it up to recharge. I was horrified when I realized the pumpkin was rotting, so I picked it. I took a cold shower and changed my clothes. I cut up the pumpkin and peeled it and froze the good parts. I looked up recipes for green pumpkin but did not see any that appealed to me.
I folded some laundry. I ironed a dress from the pile and hung it up. I pulled the fabrics that Beverly and I are going to share and cut them in half. Then I looked at the receipt to figure out how much those halves cost. I listened to a podcast. I ate some of the beef tongue that Chris had cooked for me this morning. Then I made a salad.
I listened to another interview until Chris was ready to watch TV. We'd run out of episodes of Death in Paradise. Chris suggested a movie called The Secret of Moonacre with the guy who played Hornblower but whose name I can't spell. It was pretty good, though perhaps written for a younger crowd. Then I sat down to write my blog. Chris looked up some of the characters that looked familiar. I took my evening supplements and brushed my teeth and used the ozone cream and went to bed.

Fabric fabric everywhere!

I thought I heard my phone ringing at 5:30 so I got up. But there was no sign that anyone had called. So I went back to bed and ignored any future sounds of ringing. I think I went back to sleep. Chris' alarm went off at 6:30. He nudged me but I wasn't ready to get up. But within 15 minutes, I did. I made myself a quart of lemon water, even though I might not have time to drink it. And it might mean stopping a lot along the way.
My phone rang as I was making breakfast. They were on their way to get me. I packed a lunch and threw in my water bottles. I also took some bags of fleece strips for later. Chris drove me to the front gate of the Arsenal. Soon Beverly and her husband were there to pick me up.
I got in the back seat, and we were on our way to Wilsons Fabric Outlet in Boaz. I ate my breakfast as Beverly drove. William called to say he'd bought me a Singer Featherweight on a yard sale for $20. That was an amazing price. But it was heavy. Ned commented on how things have changed as we drove through Guntersville. Apparently they used to go this way along time ago.
We missed the fabric outlet in Boaz and got lost, or rather went too far. She used her GPS to find the way to Anita's house. When we arrived, we parked and went into the house to see Anita. But her dog got very upset so we went out again. We left Ned there with his metal detector and the three of us women went to Wilson's Fabric Outlet.
The parking lot was pretty full when we got there. Many of the ladies of the Modern Quilt Guild were there shopping. All the carts were in use. So as I selected fabric, I carried the bolts. But that only lasted so long. Then I had a pile and we took turns guarding it. (A good friend will help you guard your fabric). When I thought we had seen everything, we wanted to get in line to have it cut. I could not find a cart anywhere. But Beverly followed two ladies out to their car to get the cart they were using. (A really good friend will stalk old ladies to get you a cart). Anita added her bolts to our bolts and we stood in line, chatting with the other ladies. I watched the fabrics being cut ahead of us. When I saw one I wanted, I ran up to pick it off the waiting-to-be-shelved pile. We were in line a long time, but it was still fun.
I pulled my bolts out first and had lengths cut. Then I went to pay while Beverly had hers cut. Anita went next. It took long enough that I investigated the other side of the store where the non-quilting fabrics were. I found a nice piece of white satin. Since all the fabrics were 40% off, it was a good deal. I finished paying for it about the same time Anita paid for hers.
So the three of us took our fabric finds out the car and put them in the trunk. We went to Burger King where Anita and Beverly bought lunch. Then we went back to Anita's house. Her son was mowing the extensive lawn with a riding mower. Beverly, Ned and I ate lunch at the picnic table because of the dog inside. I ate the lunch I brought. It was nice there in the shade.
Ned was done metal-detecting and maybe a little disappointed that he didn't find much. So we bid Anita goodbye and headed back to Huntsville. As she drove, I listened to Ned's stories about metal detecting and the people who make a metal-detecting show. Nothing to do with Ned, but I must have been tired because I nearly fell asleep. William called back to say he looked up Featherweights and this wasn't one of them after all. But there was no name on the machine so he could look it up.
It was about 4:30 when they drove me on post to my house. Beverly got my fabric out of the trunk. I thanked them and went inside. I was surprised that I didn't need to use the restroom. I had drunk a lot of water. Maybe it was all the sweating from the hot flashes. I ate some bitter melon, and 6 cloves of pickled garlic. I checked my e-mail, which was considerable. I read that 5 -6 dried plums a day increases bone density.
Then I made and ate lots of salad. I went for a walk and picked some blackberries. When I got back, I ate some frozen strawberries while listening to podcasts.
I paused a podcast to watch TV with Chris. We watched the next episode of Death in Paradise while I wore the cold sock of rice around my neck. I got up to put it back in the freezer and Chris announced that there were no more episodes of the show on Netflix. So while he brushed his teeth, I looked for something else to watch. I didn't want anything too dark or serious so I chose Comedians in Cars getting Coffee with Jerry Seinfield. While it wasn't crazy funny, it was a diversion. I watched two episodes. Chris gave up after one. Then I sat down to write my blog and drink. I had a bug bite on my chest so I put some onion paste on it to stop the itch. (It did not work for my ear, but bug bites are different). I was tired and it was time to go to bed. So I brushed my teeth and put some ozone cream behind my last molar and retired for the night.
* The longer we stood in line, the more fabric we had. When we left, I had the largest bag, but Anita had spent more, so I guess she gets the prize. *

Dyeing for fabric

Last night I rubbed some ozone cream on my gum behind the last lower molar on the right. It was a weird experience.
This morning I woke up hearing my alarm go off. I stayed in bed doing some mental programming to relax my jaws. So I am not sure what time I actually got up. I scraped my tongue. I drank some lemon water, then brushed and swished while I sewed a strip onto the block in progress. I pinned a strip for tomorrow so it would be short work.
Then I soaked my current batch of seeds, this time lentils. But the sprouting cup smells so strongly of tea tree oil that I am afraid they won't sprout. I turned on the router. I transferred the sprouts to a different sprouting cup so the first one can air out. I listened to a doctor on a podcast:
She said she suspects that heavy metal toxicity makes one more conductive and therefore more susceptible to electrical fields. Hot therapies (sweating followed by a shower or dip in the pool) were very effective for ridding the body of toxins of a non-metal origin. More info on her website: Drmyhill.co.uk
I found a big pot, added a gallon of water, some detergent and washing soda. I weighed some white fabric to see if I had enough water to scour it. I cut it into 4 fat quarters and put it in the pot to simmer. I was preparing the fabric for dyeing.
I took a vitamin C packet. Since there is no one next door right now, I sunbathed in the back yard for a bit. I decided to go in and come back out when the sun was directly overhead. When I came in, the pot was boiling so I turned the heat down. I ate a fat bomb and made two breakfasts. I ate one and saved the other for tomorrow.
I listened to a podcast while unplugging my laptop. But it kept shutting down at 80 – 85%. I gave up and just finished the podcast. I looked up how to replace the battery, but did not find the exact info I needed.
I mixed coconut oil with cacao and coconut butter and grass-fed butter to make a batch of fat bombs. I heard pitter-patter and saw that it was raining outside. So much for sunbathing again. I put the first batch of fat bombs in the freezer to harden. I ran out to put some red netting on the pumpkin. The hope was that that would deter whatever is eating it. I called Beverly to make arrangements for tomorrow morning. Again, since the neighbors are away, I played my trombone.
I wanted a sketch to go with the instructions for the iron caddy. I took a picture of my iron caddy pattern, traced it on paper, and scanned it into the computer. I opened it in Paint and started correcting it at a pixel level. I turned off the boiling fabric which had been simmering since before noon. It was not the dark yellow that the directions mentioned. I poured out the hot soapy water and rinsed the fabric. I poured a second batch of fat bombs and put them in the freezer. I put on plastic gloves and wadded up the fabric pieces and put them in 4 of the dye bags that I saved. Some of the bags had leaked and there was dark dye on the bottom of the tub they were in. It looked kind of blue but probably had some of all three colors in it.
Chris wasn't home yet and I got tired of waiting for him. So I went for a walk and picked blackberries. Mostly they were drying up. When I got back, Chris was home. He hadn't gotten to the post office before it closed so will pick up the package on Monday. I ate the last of the liver and onions.
I worked on the drawing of the iron caddy pattern. William texted me a picture of a Singer Featherweight that is going to be at a yard sale tomorrow. Then I made a big salad and ate it while reading an article.
We watched two episodes of Death in Paradise. They changed DI's again. Still not as good as the first one. I held crushed onion on my ear again. This is the third time and it is still not working.
I told Chris I wanted to get up at 6:30 tomorrow so he set his phone alarm. I made a list of things I could pack for lunch in the morning. I posted to my blog and used the ozone cream again.

A second opinion

Last night my ear got itchy again after the onion was done. So I mixed the argan oil with some baking soda and put that on. I took the cold rice pack from the freezer and went to bed. The argan oil with baking soda made the itching worse and I had a hard time getting to sleep. I woke several times during the night.
The next morning, I noticed Chris was out of bed. I brushed and swished and sewed a strip to the block in progress. Chris told me he heard me talking in my sleep. I remembered what I had said and told him the story as best I could recall. I put the cookie sheet of apples back outside to dry some more. I listened to podcasts, and took notes while I drank lemon water.
Diphenylamine is sprayed on non-organic apples – possible formation of nitrosamines. Copper toxicity/zinc deficiency can lead to candida. Take boron to get rid of fluoride which affects the pineal gland among others. He dissipated acne by removing sources of fluoride in the diet. It displaces iodine and calcium. Carbon-60 from Purple Power is a supplement for EMF toxicity – also Ultra-H3, bacopa, rosemary, Joy from Gaia herbs. Kettle and Fire is the bone broth lowest in toxins of the ones she tested. Biotin 5000mcg to stop yeast growth.
I made and ate breakfast, took two drops of arsenicum and 6 cloves of pickled garlic. I printed out papers of supplements for the dentist to review. I hard boiled 6 eggs and packed a small lunch. I put on my shoes, and watered the plants. I took my bag lunch and clipboard and got in the car with Chris. Right away I got out and went to my car to get my sunglasses and returned.
Chris drove us out the back gate to 565, then 65 and finally to Brentwood TN. We easily found the right office in the building (after stopping at the restroom). We were half an hour early. I handed in the paperwork and had a chat with the receptionist about the x-rays which she couldn't open. Then I sat down to wait. I watched TV but could not hear it well due to the fountain beside me. I tried changing chairs, but all of the other ones were too tall for me.
At 2 my name was called and the hygienist showed me down a hall and to a treatment room. We talked while she was waiting for the x-rays. She answered some of the questions on my sheet. Finally she had to get involved in opening the encrypted file. She examined the tooth that my local dentist wants to crown. The dentist came in and looked at my teeth. He asked for a current set of x-rays, so she took me to the panorex machine. After that, she put me back in the chair for a bite-wing. She brought the results up on the screen and showed me a cavitation on the lower right, but said all the other wisdom teeth locations looked good. When the dentist came back, he agreed. He said they could surgically open the gum and scrape the bone, or I could get a series of ozone injections. I said I wanted to avoid surgery but it was a long trip from Huntsville to make 7 times. He suggested ozone cream which is sold at the front desk. We talked about crowning the last tooth. She had said my teeth look worn but the roots and bone are in good shape. He said I don't have to have a crown if I don't want one. The tooth has been cracked across the top for 10 years and might survive another 10. But he said a new filling was needed. I asked him the rest of my questions and then he left.
She walked me to the front desk with a paper showing what was done today and what was recommended. I also got a jar of the ozone cream. She said it would work on a cyst as well. The total cost wasn't as bad as I thought because she marked the visit as 'emergency visit' rather than 'new patient' which brought the cost down a lot. I paid the receptionist and she set me up with an appointment for the filling. I could have it done locally, but wanted to see if the holistic dentist does it differently. Plus I could get one ozone injection. Chris said he couldn't drive me until September, so we made it for then.
We got in his car and headed south on 85. Traffic was quite heavy at first because of the hour, but thinned out and sped up as we went. I shared my lunch with Chris. It was about 5:30 when we got home.
I checked the house mail and found a ruler from TQS for renewing my membership. I brought the apples in. I ate some liver and onions, then made and ate a salad. Michele called on Skype, so I talked to her until 7. Then I had to go. My tapping buddy texted me. I carried my laptop into the guest room and called her. But we did not talk long before my laptop crashed. Apparently the plug wasn't seated tightly. She called back but I couldn't answer until I got the laptop back up and running. Then we talked and tapped for over an hour.
After the call, I boiled water for tea. I put the dried apples in a baggie. I crushed up some onion and put it on my ear while we watched two episodes of Death in Paradise. It ended with 'to be continued'. Sigh.
Then I drank salt water while typing up the events of the day. Chris made his sandwich and went to bed.

New ID

I got up at 7, thinking I heard my alarm, but I was mistaken. I swished, and sewed on some strips to a block. Then I put water and coffee on to heat. I typed in the supply list for the iron caddy and sent it to Jane. Then I started reading e-mail.
I opened some niacin capsules and swallowed the powder. I started drybrushing and was in niacin flush when I was ready to exercise. After the exercises, I sliced up the last two apples, and put them on a cookie sheet to dehydrate in the sun. Then I typed in the rest of the iron caddy instructions but some of it did not make sense.
I put on some meditation music and did my rounds of tapping. Then I cleaned the bathrooms and kitchen, washing things in the sink. I swept the floors with a dustmop. Then I needed to send dental x-rays to the holistic dentist, but they were encrypted. I looked up how to unencrypt them but it didn't work. So I had to send them encrypted along with the password to the dentist's office.
I finished mowing the lawn from Monday. I put on my bathing suit and laid out on a towel in the sun. When the sun went behind a cloud, I clipped grass under the pumpkin vines until it came back. When it looked like the sun wasn't coming back, I picked up the towel and went in. I watered the plants. I put a rubber glove over my taped wrist and took a shower. But the tape got wet anyway. I laid on the bed under the ceiling fan to cool off after the shower. Then I got dressed nicely and combed my hair.
I was reading e-mail when Chris came home. I checked my hair and put on shoes. Then he drove us to the visitors center to get my new ID. Making that left turn, he wasn't watching on-coming traffic and I nearly had a heart attack. My screams stopped him just in time. After we parked, I tried to resume calm breathing, but when we got to the door there was a sign saying that their machine was down and they couldn't print ID's. This had been my fear – that at the last minute something would go wrong and my ID would expire. So we explained to the man that my ID expires tomorrow and we had special permission to renew it today. He said if my photo was already in the system, he could make it. Then he told me to take a number. There were people waiting, so I was surprised when he called it right away. I handed him my old ID and he found me in the system and printed out a new one. Whew! But dressing up was a waste of time.
Chris drove us back to our home, going through gate 9. I showed my new ID and it was accepted. When we got back, I went for a walk. Initially I was going to walk to the berry patch, but on the way I remembered that today is my fasting day, so no berries for me.
When I got back, I filled out all the paperwork that I downloaded from the dentist's office. I also updated my supplement sheet in case he asked for it. Then I made a mug of bone broth. Since the Korean doctor recommended that I put onion on my itchy ear, I looked it up. The article I found said to grind some onion into a paste. So I did. I cut a cotton round in half and scooped onion onto it. I held it on my ear as I brought in the apples which weren't quite dry. I noticed gnats and fuzzy stuff on my sprouts. So I threw them out and washed the container in hot soapy water, Then I filled it with hot water, white vinegar and tea tree oil to soak.
I laid on the couch, holding the onion on my ear. When Chris had finished his supper, we watched two episodes of Death in Paradise. It won't be long before there's a new sheriff in town. Then Chris retired to bed and I stayed up to blog, trying not to think about food.

Purple bamboo salt

I got up at 6:45 again. I put the not-so-cold sock of rice back in the freezer. I was still a little tired so I went back to bed for a few minutes. Later I got up to swish and sew two squares together. I drank lemon water and read e-mail. I made and ate breakfast, which I don't usually do on a Tuesday. But I was afraid I wouldn't get lunch.
I folded up the black and white bag and put it in the fruit bag, along with the quilt-as-you-go. I drove to the quilt meeting. I handed in the quilt-as-you-go. Jane held it up for the others to see. They noticed my black and white bag. They passed it around for a closer look and made many nice comments. There were also questions about the iron caddy, but I hadn't brought it. I promised to send Jane the fabric requirements.
No one was sewing, but Jane said they needed more strip blocks. So I set up my machine to do that, and got a tub of scraps from the storage room. Beverly came and set up near me to make blocks also. Later Rebecca came and also brought her sewing machine. I made 6 blocks while talking to Beverly. Then I packed up because it was noon.
I skipped kimbap because I wasn't hungry and it's like a freezer in the Asian store. But I went to the doctor's place nearby. She sat me down to look at her computer. She gave me a packet of jujube juice to drink and two for the road. She did acupuncture and taping on my cyst. She told me to scrape an onion and put it on my ear for the itch. She told me about the medicinal value of purple bamboo salt and gave me some to taste. It was really good, but at $100 a bottle, I did not ask for more. She said she wants to practice English with me for an hour a week. (How is that different from what we're doing now?) She also wants me to teach her to make a dress.
It was after 2 when I left. I went home to print a spreadsheet for counting money, but I could not find it on desktop computer. I had to make another simplified one. I ate a few bites of liver and onions while it printed.
So I didn't get to the church until 3. Pastor was there, but he soon finished up and left. I counted the cash and checks and filled out the deposit slips. I recorded the info on the computer. By then it was after 4:40. I grabbed the deposit bundles and raced to the bank to complete the transactions. There was no time for reports.
When I got home, there was a Swansons package that Chris had picked up from the post office. I put the contents away. Then I made and ate a big salad while reading e-mail. Then I drove back to church to finish the reports and attend the stewardship meeting. Ron was there to make copies for Tim. I ran the reports and then he figured out how to make copies. I stapled papers together and put them in the appropriate boxes. I did a backup of the information and shut the computer down. Then I sat across the table from him while waiting for the others to arrive. When Art and Keith showed up, we had our meeting. Then Charlie arrived and we went back over some stuff. Then the meeting was adjourned.
I talked to Ron in the parking lot for a bit before leaving. I drove home a different way to see how it would go. When I arrived, Chris was on his laptop. I told him I was ready to watch TV, but he continued to do...whatever it was. I ate my handful of nuts for the day and some dried apple slices while reading e-mail. Then we watched one episode of Death in Paradise. I typed up my blog and went to bed.

No shades of gray

I got up at 6:45. I sewed some strips onto the handles. It was going well, but I stopped myself so I would have something to take to sewing today. I turned on the router. I read e-mail and listened to podcasts. I sliced up three apples, spread them on a cookie sheet and covered them with tulle. I placed the cookie sheet in the back yard in the sun. I made more green powder mix to see if I needed more of any of the ingredients. Then I worked on my Nuts.com order.
I made and ate breakfast. Then I washed up and dressed for the day. I packed up the black and white bag and all its pieces. I also took the quilt-as-you-go project. I drove to quilting. A few ladies were sitting down to lunch. It was a low turnout, even though only one person was at this week's retreat. I set up my machine and finished binding the quilt-as-you-go quilt. Then I finished sewing black and white strips onto the handles. One lady said she liked my fruit bag, but the black and white one was even better. Bertha said she would never have thought to make a mondo bag out of log cabin blocks. At 3, I laid out the blue blocks to decide how to arrange them. I wasn't entirely please with how they went together (or didn't exactly go together). Lauri was the only one still there. We were talking about movies and she recommended Jumanji and Shallow Hal.
I packed up a little afterward. I came home, and checked the apples. The thinner ones were done but the thicker ones needed more time in the sun. I moved them to the porch. Then I mowed until the mower ran slow. As I plugged in the battery to recharge, it occurred to me that I just recharged it less than a week ago.
I ate liver and onions while listening to a podcast. Chris came home from work. He said he found out that he did not get job in Philadelphia. I put the recyclables into separate bags and flattened extra boxes to put out for pick-up tomorrow.
I checked the quilt for any places where the binding did not get sewn. There were a few and I handstitched them closed. I worked on the black and white bag, turning and topstitching the handles, attaching them to the bag and sewing in the lining. Then I started cleaning up my sewing area, sorting through the leftover bits.
When Chris was ready, we watched two episodes of Death in Paradise. He checked something on his laptop, then made his lunch before going to bed. I took my evening magnesium and typed up my blog post. Then I put argan oil on my ear and on my finger, which was almost pain-free. I went to bed, intending to use the PEMF pad and a cold sock of rice to help me sleep.

No rainbow fruit quilt

I got up at 7:30 when my alarm went off. I replaced two logs that were not quite wide enough. I had to substitute another fabric because I ran out of the first one. Then I read e-mail until 8:30. I took a shower, and looked for green fabric scraps. I read e-mail until 9:20. Then I got dressed and had a quick bite and headed to church.
I ran into Scott first. He talked about the long hours of setting up for the fireworks display. Then I showed Susan the green fabrics. I think she wanted me to take over the project. Finally I sat be Cecelia in church. I gave her a bottle of magnesium and she paid me.
After the service, we walked up to the wallhanging that Susan wanted altered. I held up each piece of green. Cecelia and I talked about how to covered the extra L.
Then I went out to my car and called Chris to meet me at the grocery store. I was in aisle 4 when he showed up. We shopped together and I went home while he checked out. I changed my clothes. When he arrived, we put the groceries away.
I made and ate breakfast while listening to a podcast. I scrolled through pages and pages of quilts on Pinterest and Bing, looking for that rainbow fruit quilt I saw years ago on the cover of a magazine. I even checked Ebay. I was worried about giving myself a repetitive motion injury from all the scrolling. I went outside to take a pic of the largest pumpkin. Although technically, it is just the larger pumpkin since I have only seen two.
I sewed the black and white blocks together in 4 strips. I ironed scraps of the mondo bag interfacing to the backs. Then I sewed the strips into a bag. I did the same with the lining and fusible batting. The next step was the handles. I started foundation piecing them.
Chris alerted me when the liver and onions were done. I ate a plate of that, which was really good. I was not disappointed that Chris didn't want any. I also made and ate a salad while watching a video or two. I learned that one study showed that stevia extract can kill all forms of Lyme disease. It was not 100% effective, but better than drugs.
Then I took a walk. There were great clouds of gnats, and several tried to fly into my eye. When I got back, I watered the basil plant, which always looks dehydrated. I made more chia and flax mix for breakfast tomorrow. Then I sewed a few strips to the handles while I was waiting for Chris.
I ate frozen chunks of cantaloupe as we watched two episodes of Death in Paradise. Oh, what lovely vistas! I want to go there. Afterward, Chris made his lunch and went to bed. I stayed up to blog.
* Our reward for not eating all the pumpkin blossoms. *
