Pioneer Days

Saturday

I got up at 7 when Chris' alarm went off. I got dressed and watered all the plants at home. I resisted the gopher mounds. Chris cooked me 4 eggs for breakfast (since I missed supper last night). I read some e-mail, then got my stuff together so I was ready when Michelle arrived at 8:20.

We had a nice trip to Tooele. I thought Pioneer Days was a Tooele-wide event, but we went to a church and all the events were inside. We listened to a young lady talk about the old days. Then we walked around the church, seeing the different activities in the various rooms. In one room they were making dolls out of fat quarters. Michelle made two and gave me one. In another room, they were tying quilts. I put in half a row (because I ran out of thread). I met some people I know from the base. We stood in line to make candles. We skipped the ice cream-making activity and the fried bread station. But Michelle got some bread for Chris.

After that, she took me to a nursery. They had bigger stuff, like bushes and trees. Then we went back to the base, chatting all the way. She dropped me off at my house. I ate some seed crackers, plus chicken and rice that Chris made. She came back with the fried bread for Chris. I gave her the goat cheese I had left and she gave me $10 (even though I didn't ask for money).

At 1:45 I went to the house to clean with Jamie. I worked in the kitchen, cleaning behind the fridge and stove, then cleaning the inside of the fridge. I also did two windows and their blinds. Then I dusted all the walls, and a ceiling fan. After 4 hours, I was ready to go. Jamie had to leave for a short while. She said she would finish the house herself and gave me $150 plus told me to keep the $45 change from the other day. So after she left, I pulled my car into the garage and loaded all my cleaning stuff into it. Then I went home.

Chris heated chicken on the stove for me. I jotted notes for my blog. I read e-mail while eating, then put on my suit and went to the pool. I got an earful about the family with the 10+ kids. I came home and told Chris. He said he can't do anything until someone files a report. I made a note to tell the lifeguards to file a report. I made tea and we watched a movie called One for the Money. Then I read e-mail and went to bed.

Never got to the pool

Friday

I got up late. I watered the home plants. I killed gopher who was trying to avoid the water. Then I went and watered the garden. I pulled diseased leaves off of the potato plants. Were they too wet? I discovered a leak in the irrigation system. I folded up the end of the leaking line and covered it with a rock.

When I got home, I read e-mail. I made breakfast and ate it while watching gardening videos. Chris came home for lunch. Then we went to Tooele, shopped, and came back. Before going home, we stopped at post office.

It was 5pm. We unloaded the car. I raked a portion of the side yard and mowed it. Then I put on my bathing suit and went cleaning, intending to stop at 7 and go to the pool. However, Jamie didn't show up until 7, at which time I had been cleaning for an hour. She showed me her new cleaning tools: cordless vacs and microfiber dusters. She got a call for a quote, so we went over there to see the house. I had never been in one of those houses, so it was nice to see. But with two stories, it was a lot of house to clean, even though they obviously took care of it.

We went back to the house we were cleaning. We talked about coming up with a formula for a quote. We went through the stuff left in the house, dividing it up between us or consigning it to the swap shop. We divided up what was left in the fridge. I took a bag home.

As I was carrying stuff into my house, Michelle called. She wanted to take me to Pioneer Days in Tooele tomorrow morning. I was tired and not enthusiastic, but she convinced me.

Chris and I watched two episodes of Cheers. He set his alarm for 7am. I read some e-mail, then went to bed.

Finding an alternate at the swap shop

Thursday

I got up at 7:30. I watered all the plants at home, then went to the garden. The timer was dead so I came back for batteries and a spoon. I replaced the old batteries, then tested the old ones. Inexplicably they tested fine.

I watered gopher holes. One popped up and I killed it and threw it across the street. I reported to Mindy that the irrigation system in plot 15 was leaking. I texted with Michelle about finding someone to mind the swap shop this afternoon. I searched for a piece of paper with names on it of two ladies who volunteered over a year ago. No luck, but I did find a check to the church that I forgot to mail in June!

I checked e-mail, refilled the 'push' combos, and made breakfast. I watched The Highwire: Dosing of Paxlovid is too complicated to allow pharmacists to prescribe it when people request it. It interacts badly with 75 other medications.

I went walking with Terri at the gym. I went by the post office to unlock the swap shop. Then I went to the latest house and cleaned for an hour in the kitchen - so much stuff left behind. Half of it was trash.

I went home to get more cleaning supplies, and to hydrate. I read some e-mail, then went back to the house and cleaned for an hour and 15 minutes: I vacuumed all the rooms and worked on the grease on the stove hood. In my head I finished writing lyrics to the Gomer Pyle theme song.

When I got home, I picked lettuce and made a salad. I ate it while watching Facts Matter. Chris came home with a pizza. I worked on my blog, then made tea. It was 9 by the time we sat down to watch four episodes of Cheers. Chris kept pausing it to make passes at me.

Afterward, I read e-mail until after 11:30, then went to bed.

The cleaning business is looking up

Wednesday

I woke up early when Chris' alarm went off. It took some effort to go back to sleep. I got up at 8. I started coffee morning and watered some plants, then got a call from a guy who wants to sign his house over to us for cleaning next week. I remembered that we already have an apartment for next week and Jamie signed for a house two days ago. So I texted her that I needed to start cleaning it now and she had me come over to get the keys. She also showed me some dusters that she loved and wanted me to get more of at the commissary. She gave me a $100 bill.

I went to the garden to water and fertilize, etc. Then I returned home. I did my exercises and tappings. Then I cleaned the bathrooms and started the kitchen. I vacuumed the floors and emptied the dust cup. Then I washed a grunchload of dishes.

After reading some e-mail, I went to commissary and got the supplies Jamie asked for. Then I stopped by the library to return Gomer Pyle and get the next season of Cheers. I stopped at the post office, then met Terri at the gym for walking. We had a good chat as usual.

When I got home, I dried the dishes and put them away. Just as Chris came home, I left for the cleaning quote. I arrived at 6. I inspected the house, starting with the kitchen. The house was pretty clean. Then I called Jamie to discuss it with her. I suggested $450, and she thought maybe $700 but left it up to me. I quoted him $500. We agreed to meet at 9am for the signing on Tuesday.

I went home and changed into my bathing suit. Chris wished me fun at the pool, but when I got there, it was full of kids. They were in constant motion. I wanted to do laps, but most of the time could only tread water and stay out of their way.

I got out a little early. I dried off and went home. I changed into dry clothes. I worked on my blog while listening to a video on strange blood clots. Aluminum foil is contaminated with other metals. Recycled foil is even higher in contaminants than 'fresh' foil. These clots are not made of blood and have a high concentration of tin.

I made tea and we watched four episodes of Cheers. Then I read e-mail until 11:30 and went to bed. Chris told me later that I forgot to turn the router off.

New lawn management plan

Tuesday

I got up before the alarm went off. I watered the plants inside and out. Then I went to the garden. I watered, then planted seeds for a fall crop. When I got home, I watered gopher holes, then raked and mowed portions of the shaded yard.

At noon, I made and ate breakfast. Chris did not come home for lunch, He was at a retirement luncheon. I checked e-mail.

I tried to make copies of music but print came out too light. I suspected that the ink was drying up. I put on my shoes, grabbed my trombone and music and went to Saronna's house. I was a little early, but by the time she got the children settled, it was 2:30 and Sebastien arrived. I asked him to give us a few minutes, and she and I played our favorite piece.

Then using the hymnal, the three of us practiced two hymns for Sunday. We also played a hymn that Saronna suggested. Sebastian couldn't sight read all the notes, so I had him play just one line. Then the baby woke up. So Saronna was done. Sebastian and I tried switching lines on the hymn and it sounded good. Then he went home. Terri texted that she was not walking today. So Saronna got the kids together and we walked to the library for story time. I turned around and walked back to my car and drove home.

I ate frozen watermelon and read e-mail. I watched a presentation on the history of media, and on the WEF. Chris came home from work. He made me eggs with cheese for supper. He brought home the leftover brownies. I ate a large crumb and decided that it came out just right.

Just after 7, I went back to the side yard to rake and mow. I didn't make a big dent in an hour. I parked the mower, rake, and wheelbarrow by my car to avoid getting hit by sprinklers.

I worked on my blog, and looked at internet piano versions of the song Saronna and I like to play. But it didn't seem to be much like the one in Dad's book. Then I made tea. We watched four episodes of Cheers. I read a book from the swap shop that I think I've read before. I was falling asleep, so I went to bed a little early.

A new batch of cheese

Monday

I got up before 8. I watered all the plants at home, and then went to the garden. I watered and fertilized there, and pulled some weeds. I found three pea pods on a pea plant that I hadn't seen before. I planted half a dozen sprouted garlic cloves.

I went home. I used the hose to water certain flowerbeds that the sprinkler doesn't reach. Also I found gopher tunnels where I could wash the mounds back into the ground. I wasn't done until 11. I cut up the rest of the watermelon peel and threw it in the compost.

I made up two week's worth of supplements, set some bottles aside to be re-ordered, then made and ate breakfast. Chris came home for lunch. I plugged in my headphones and listened to some videos:

Former IRS agent: The Federal Reserve is a non-auditable banking cartel. They are collecting $36m/hr in interest from the American people. The Grace Commission report by Ronald Reagan says that none of the money collected in income tax goes to running the country. A talk called “Taxes for Revenue are Obsolete” claimed taxes were for redistribution of wealth.

Then I came across a commercial for the Flatula Backfire. I tried not to laugh but it was funny. I pulled some frozen watermelon out and snacked on it.

I heated the goat milk while watching onion videos. When it reached 180, I added vinegar. I went to the gym and walked with Terri. We walked for 45 minutes. When I got home, I searched for curds, but there were very few. So I reheated the water and added more vinegar. I collected curds, and put them in the fridge along with the whey.

I picked lettuce and made a salad. Chris came home to make brownies. I advised in the adding of ingredients, then went to the pool. I swam and talked to Heather about camping. She's leaving tomorrow. When I asked the lifeguard for the time, it was 7:59. I got out and toweled off, then went home.

I changed into dry clothes. Chris asked my opinion on the baked brownies and I pronounced them good. I worked on my blog. I made tea and we watched four episodes of Cheers. I finished my book, then got ready for bed.

Working out alone

Sunday

We slept in. When I got up, I watered the plants at home and at the garden. When I got back, I was going to make cheese sticks, but discovered we didn't have the cheeses. So I made seed crackers instead. I had already whipped up the eggs and it was too much so I added extra seeds and spices. It made two batches of crackers. I cut up peels for the compost, then made and ate breakfast.

I got dressed for church, packed the snack, and headed to the chapel. Saronna was there with Jonah (her string bass) and her family. I conversed with Sebastien on the last hymn. It was a different arrangement, but in the same key so he played his version and we played from the hymn book and it was fine.

After the opening prayer, we played three hymns. The chaplain gave the sermon, then we played one more hymn. After the service, Chuck came to see me to share his thoughts about how the music went. I invited him to direct and he said he would try it. Then I talked to Sgt King about the music next week, and to the chaplain about his wife, whom I guess is still resting.

When I got home, I ate some seed crackers and fruit. I read e-mail, trying to catch up. CSM Rawls asked me to post about the club being open today. So I put out a quick post to the community page. I also composed a post about the new Digital Garrison app. Then I cut up half the watermelon rind.

I changed clothes, and went to gym. Chris followed me. He talked to Mickie while I went inside and identified the machines I was going to work on. Chris moved the heavy weights off and put 10lbs on. Then he left for the community club. I did my workout in that room and the next room. Then I went home.

I listened to interviews. I picked and made a backyard salad. Eventually Chris came home with a pizza. I worked on my blog. After making tea, we watched the last two episodes of Gomer Pyle. In the last episode, Gomer applies for a transfer and Sgt Carter cancels it.

Then we watched two episodes of Cheers. I read my book until it got late, hoping to finish. But no, they blew up Atlantis and barely got out and then I went to bed.

A busy cleaning day

Saturday

I got up at 8:30. I watered all my plants. When I watered the irises, it chased out gophers and mice. I killed one of the gophers. I talked to Chris about my phone locking out unwanted touching. He said to look it up, but I couldn't remember the exact terms.

I went to the garden. Jamie showed up and gave me money for helping her clean the Mustang Road house. I spread cat litter where gopher mounds were. After watering and fertilizing, I went to the company house. I cleaned mirrors, and the rest of the whole house fan. The box in the ceiling above it was still dirty, but I couldn't get to it. I finished up the bathrooms, mopped and put the little rugs back. I dressed the beds, put the comforter stuffing back in it's case, and folded the extra sheets.

I went home about 12:30. Chris gave me a massage. I made and ate breakfast. I read e-mail and watched mouse trap videos. I folded my laundry. Casey came by with two jars of goat milk. I read some e-mail, then went to the company house to finish up. I set the mousetraps and placed them around the kitchen. I dry-mopped the floors and wet-mopped here and there. Then I went home.

Chris had cooked me mushrooms so I ate them first. I also drank at least half of my tea with ice in it. He told me how hurt he was that I didn't fold his laundry at the same time.

Then I put on my bathing suit and met Diane at the gym. It was closed and she didn't want to walk outside. So I suggested we go into the pool area, and through the bathroom to get to the gym proper. And that's what we did. We walked the track for almost half an hour, talking, then stood near the front desk, and talked. She hugged me before she left because she is going away for 6 weeks.

I went to the pool. Heather was there, so we had some conversation. I swam laps crosswise. Then I saw Emily and her husband. I chatted with them, too. I started thinking it must be time to get out. But the life guard said her watch wasn't working. I got out anyway, and saw that it was 8:20. Then I dried off and went home. I told Chris some of what I had heard at the pool. Then I changed into dry clothes. I put on tea and worked on my blog. We watched four episodes of Gomer Pyle. We dressed the bed with clean sheets. I read e-mail, trying to catch up. Then I went to bed.

The long chat

Friday

We slept in late. I got up at 8:30, brushed and swished, then watered the plants. I noticed that the cactus had bloomed. Chris was surprised. I went to the garden. I spread bird netting over a tomato cage for the peas to climb on. I noted gopher mounds in the garden. Grrr!

I went to the company house. I found all the sheets and towels mounded on the washing machine, including one of the comforters (duvet?). And the AC was going full blast which made the louvers in the ceiling open up, showing a lot of dirt. There were also 4 mouse traps and a jar of peanut butter on the counter. I got the washing machine going, then took the inside of the comforter home to lay out in the sun. I made breakfast and ate the first part, then went to the company house to throw more wash in the dryer. Then we went to the post office and then shopping in Tooele. We stopped at all the usual places. I paid cash at Melanie's (for Cash Friday), then noted that my stash was getting low.

On the way home, it looked like it was raining in Dugway. When we got there, I brought the inner comforter inside. I put it in the dryer to fluff. I went to the house and moved the load in the washer to the dryer. I cleaned the bathrooms and kitchen and took out the trash. I wiped some of the louver blades on the whole house fan unit.

I put on my walking shoes and went to the school. Diane and Michelle met me there. Then Terri showed up just after we got started. The four of us walked a mile or so. The other ladies left.

I went home to change into my suit. I went to the pool and met Michelle there. We swam and talked. I told her the hard truth that Chris told me. We got out so she could show me the texts she sent to the colonel's wife. We ended up talking outside the gym for over an hour. I went home at 9:30, ate a pear, and read some e-mail. We watched the rest of the interrupted episode of Gomer Pyle. I worked on my blog, and tried to catch up on e-mail.

The Luncheon

Thursday

I don't remember when I got up. I brushed and swished, then watered all the plants. I planted the current crop of sprouted garlic and flattened mounds. I killed one or two gophers with water and the hose. Then I went to the garden. The kids from the child care center were in the plot next to mine, pulling weeds. I spoke to them briefly. I watered the potato plant for Mrs. Pace and my garden plants. I pulled some weeds, and took a pic of potato flowers.

When I got home, I picked plaintain leaves for drying. I made a modified breakfast and ate it, then went to Michelle's house with muffins. She was having a luncheon for the chaplain's wife, but she was still in the hospital. I talked to Michelle in the kitchen, then we came out and spoke with other people: Saronna, Heather, Jordan, Mauvette, Mandy, Tiffany, etc. Jedediah was fussy but would not let anyone other than his mother hold him.

I left my muffins with Michelle. She gave me croissants, and peppers. I went home. Faye called to see if I wanted some family history books written by our cousin. I ate fruit and watched The HighWire. Chris called to say there would be a power outage at 5, but it shouldn't affect us.

At 3:30, I put on my shoes and joined the ladies at the gym for a walk. Afterward, Terri and I went to the swap shop to move a shelving unit. She got to look around, then we went home.

I listened to more of The Highwire and ate. Then the power went out. So I went outside to rake and mow. I stopped when the battery ran down. Chris was reading on the back porch. I picked salad greens, then sat near him and read my own book.

When the power came back on, I washed the greens and made a salad. As I ate, I got texts from Michelle. I posted to my blog, and made tea. We started watching Gomer Pyle, and Michelle came by with a bag of cat litter. We started talking on the front porch and she came in to ask Chris a question and then after more conversation suddenly it was almost midnight. She would not let us give her a ride home. Off she walked, and we went to bed.

Well Golollee, Sgt Carter

Wednesday

I got started on coffee morning. I watered the plants here and at the garden. I put up a tomato cage for the peas to climb on. I placed a potato plant in Mrs. Pace's garden. Then I exercised, and read a book for half an hour. Then I finished coffee morning with meditation and tapping.

Afterward, I cleaned the bathrooms and kitchen. I showered, then vacuumed and mopped. I cut down the ever-growing pile of boxes and got them stacked to go.

I joined Diane at 3:30 to walking at the gym. Afterward, I went to the garden to take pics for Jenni, and to water the potato plant. When I got back, I listened to Mary and Polly.

I refilled the green mix as Chris came home. I talked to him for a bit and we took out the trash and recycling for pick-up tomorrow. I emptied a bucket of mop water into a gopher hole. Then I put on my suit, and went to the pool. While swimming, I asked Heather about sweet potatoes, and asked a lifeguard about hooking my laptop to my stereo for speakers. The other lifeguard let us stay late but I didn't realize it.

It was after 8:20 when I got home. I changed into my nightgown, and worked on my blog. I made tea, and we watched Gomer Pyle. I watched a podcast on my laptop. Lately when I read after TV, all the character voices sound like Gomer Pyle.

Missing potato plant - whodunit?

Tuesday

I got up before 7:30. I watered the plants inside and partly outside. I put on my bathing suit and fertilized three jugs of water and visited the fruit trees. I sprinkled some fruit tree fertilizer that Jamie gave me. Then I gave each tree a jug of water. I went to the garden to fertilize those plants. One of my potato plants from the box was missing. Like someone dug it up and covered the hole so it would look like it hadn't been there. Mrs. Pace came by so I mentioned it to her and she said something is uprooting her plants too. I promised her a potted potato plant and she left. I finished up with my garden, doing a little weeding. Then I went home.

I made and ate breakfast. Chris came home with three packages from the post office. Finally, bone broth! I read e-mail, then opened the packages. Saronna canceled our playing for today.

I worked outside in the yard. Later, I put on shoes and met Diane and Michelle at the gym for walking. After we were done, I went home. I read e-mail. I picked dandelion, and made a netting cover. I washed the leaves and left them to dry on the porch.

I ate leftovers, then watched the quilt guild meeting at 5 on Zoom. I quit a little after 6 to go to the community meeting. I sat by Chris,. I participated a little bit, but mostly listened. Afterward, I talked to people downstairs in the cafe, then talked to ladies in the parking lot. Then we all went home.

I picked and assembled a salad. I ate it while watching a video on diesel engine oil additives, and the lack thereof. The two plants that make the additives are down for maintenance. I posted to my blog. I made tea and we watched four episodes of Gomer Pyle. Then I read my book until I got sleepy and went to bed.

Inspection and quote

Monday

I watered the plants at home. I dug up a couple of mounds and poured in soapy water. I went to the garden to water and fertilize veggies and pull weeds. I found new potatoes coming up where I didn't remember planting them.

I made an invoice for June for cleaning the company house. I sent it off. I collected dried mint leaves from the back porch. A man called me to get a quote for cleaning.

I addressed a few more gopher holes, putting in extra effort because the CSM wrote a letter to residents asking them to pay more attention to the holes. I don't think she realizes just how big a job it is. I washed several gallons of dirt into the biggest tunnel, and it still wasn't full.

I started making breakfast. Chris came home for lunch. I watched a video: Dr. Cole said there is a link between immune response and ability to fight cancer. Coronaviruses are not amenable to vaccines because of the mutation rate.

At 1 I went to an inspection at the Mustang Road house. I brought a damp rag. Jamie was in charge because she signed for the house. She had cleaning supplies still in the house. I had not done a walk-thru but I saw dirty window tracks. But she was dinged for the toilets, which she then cleaned. They mentioned stickiness on the rangehood so I wiped it really hard. They found more stuff under the fridge. Someone tipped it back so Jamie could sweep out from under it. But she told me she thought it went well. Hmmm. One of the inspectors asked who cleaned the colonel's oven. I raised my hand. He asked what I used, I told him and then he said only a special ceramic cleaner should be used.

I went home, and had few minuted to read e-mail, then went to the apartment building to give a quote. Jamie had gone to the wrong building so she was late. I had already looked around. So then Jamie did her rounds. We conferred in the hall, then quoted the lady $400, which seemed like a lot for a two room apartment.

After the quote, I went home for walking shoes, then met the ladies at the gym. We walked for over half an hour. Terri and Diane left. I talked to Michelle in the parking lot until 5:30 or so. Strong winds blew in and I started calling for Toto. Ha. We split up and went home.

I ate steak, and salad that contained home-grown lettuce. I went to the library to return a book, and DVD. I got another DVD, talked to Melissa until 7, then went home. I worked on e-mail, comparing supplements. It started raining. I posted to my blog, then made tea. We watched four episodes of Gomer Pyle. Afterward, I listened to videos while looking at Telegram messages, then went to bed.

Muffin surprise

Sunday

I woke up, having slept well. I watered here and at garden. I made muffins and cheese sticks, using the spices that Mickie gave me. I added half a banana and some MCT oil to the muffins. For the first time, they were not dry. I listened to a newscast. When Chris finished his shower, I took a shower, then made and ate breakfast. Chris put bacon and chicken in the oven.

I went to the chapel, and put the snacks on the back table. Then I went to the front and assembled my trombone. I talked to the new chaplain, but his wife had stepped out with a migraine. She never came back. Sgt Kent (the therapy dog) greeted me. Saronna came in with her string bass. Yea!

When the countdown was 0, the pastor said a prayer. Saronna, Sebastian and I played three hymns that his teacher had selected. Saronna left. The chaplain prayed again and gave the sermon, then we played one more hymn and another prayer. It was over by 1:45. I asked what time the next service would be. We took a vote and decided to come at 1 next week. I wanted to stay and talk to the assistant, but people were helping me carry the leftover treats and trombone out to my car, so I left with them.

I went home. I read e-mail until almost 5. Then I went to the gym, and worked out with Diane. She made me promise to continue to work out even though she will be gone for 5 or 6 weeks.

I went home, and read e-mail. I picked lettuce and cut up an onion stalk. I added greens from the fridge to make a salad. I also had some steak. I worked on my blog, then made tea. We watched 4 episodes of Gomer Pyle. I realized that the onion stems were not digesting well. I tried to read my book, but restless leg syndrome kept me from getting comfortable and concentrating on the story. Finally I went to bed.

More chatting than sewing

Saturday

My back hurt all night. It was hard to sleep. When I struggled to get up at 7:15, my right arm hurt again. I was hoping swimming had helped that, but no, it came back.

I watered the plants and fertilized them from the white bucket on the back porch. When I watered the tower garden, a rodent climbed out. It seemed to be a gopher but it was gone pretty quickly. I refilled the gallon jugs. I poured soapy water down several gopher holes in the front yard.

I went to the garden. I watered and noticed a leak in my irrigation system. Sigh. I aimed it downward. I pulled weeds and threw tumbleweeds over the fence. I collected some mint for drying. Then I went to the Mustang Run house. The garage was open so I walked in. I looked around and collected all the cleaning items that belong to me. I also took my step stool. When I left, I closed the garage door.

I went home. I spread some grapefruit peel in the pockets of the tower garden. I read e-mail. One doctor said its hard for the vaccine to save one child when there isn't one to save, meaning children are not at risk of dying from covid so how could a vaccine reduce that risk? Chris gave me a coconut oil massage. While he took a shower, I made breakfast. After eating, I got my sewing materials together. We went to the chapel, and Chris carried in my machines. While I was setting them up, the chaplain came by to explain that his wife wasn't feeling up to it. They left and Terri came with her knitting. As we chatted, Tonja came. We chatted for over 2 hours, and then they helped me pack up and go home. No one did the project.

When I got home, Chris brought in the sewing machines. He sat in a chair on the front porch. I gave Chris a haircut, but my eyesight was blurry due to the angle of the sun. I ate steak for supper, plus a salad from my tower garden. I jotted notes for my blog.

At 7 I went to the pool. I swam around while talking to Emily and her husband, and then to Heather. Suddenly it was 7:55 and time to get out. I toweled off. Her husband spoke to me about visiting Riley's u-pick next week or so.

I came home and changed into dry clothes. I put some berries in a dish. We watched four episodes of Gomer Pyle. Then we dressed the bed with clean sheets. I read my book until I could not stay awake, then went to bed.

The cat and the haircut

Friday

I heard Chris' alarm go off, and then mine did, so I knew it was 7:30. I was surprised he set his so late. It was raining! That made it look earlier than it was. I brushed, swished, and took a shower. Chris went to the office. I watered the inside plants and read e-mail. I flattened a mound and poured soapy water in the tunnel. My wrist still hurt from yesterday so I tried to use it the least amount possible.

I read e-mail then made and ate breakfast. Chris came home and said he would be ready to leave after lunch. I finished breakfast, then went to Michelle's house to check on her cat. I saw the water, but had to search for the food. Then another search for the litter box. There was plenty of everything. If I had seen a scooper, I would have raked the litter. I spent some time with the cat, who was mewling constantly. Poor thing.

When I got home, I filled a bottle with tea and put ice in the cooler. We went to Tooele, listening to the book on CD. When we got to Luckey's, Chris helped me get to the Great Clips website and enter my name. Then we shopped for the usual. While Chris checked out, I walked to Melanies for a few things, and then to Joanns to pick up the chalkboard fabric that I ordered last night. Then we went to Macey's. While he shopped there, I walked to Great Clips and got a hair cut. The stylist was very personable. I tipped her $3 but should have been more. We both agreed that all the gray hair on the floor must have been from the cat.

Chris and I went home, again listening to the book on CD. It was better than the jacket indicated. We did not stop at the post office because Chris had been there earlier. When we got home, Chris put away the food while I laid down. Listening while riding in the car makes me sleepy.

I flattened another gopher mound, and picked some lettuce from my tower garden. Adding greens from the grocery store, I made a salad. Chris put steaks in the oven and mushrooms in a fry pan. I finished off the last of the spicy avocado dip. When the steaks were done, I ate one, then watched the Larry Elder show.

I put on my suit and went to the pool. Another lady was there on a lounge. I swam laps for 45 minutes. She swam some laps too. Then I toweled off and went home, exhausted. I changed into dry clothes and wrote my blog post. I made tea and we watched TV.

In the middle of the first episode of Gomer Pyle, I got a text from the command sergeant major. She said she had posted to the FMWR page and wanted me to repost it and tell people to DM the FMWR to get tickets. I showed the message to Chris. He showed me the e-mail she had sent him about the tickets, then e-mailed it to me. I went to my computer and posted that e-mail to the Dugway 24/7 page. Then we finished watching four episodes.

Afterward, I read my book until 11:30. Then I checked the Facebook page. Facebook told me the post had violated their policies on tickets and asked if I wanted to contest that decision. I said yes. Then I texted an apology to the command sergeant major and went to bed.

Sharing my book

Thursday

I got up around 7:30. I got ready, then watered all my plants. I flattened some mounds, and poured soapy water in the tunnels. I put in some edging, then planted some sprouted garlic cloves.

I put 3 gallons of fertilized water in my car. I read e-mail until 10, then went to the garden. I watered and fertilized the plants. I put netting over a tomato plant. Then I went to the hotel. I chatted with the chaplain and his wife. I gave her my copy of “The Real Anthony Fauci” to read. After more chatting, I left. I went to the fruit trees to fertilize them. Then I stopped by the post office and picked up the mail, and unlocked the swap shop.

When I got home, I made breakfast. I ate it while watching The Highwire. Del actually walked on a high wire and made it all the way across.

I stopped before 3 to go walking at the gym with Diane. We walked on the lower level because a group was doing trials up above. We tried to shove the bleachers out of the way, but they wouldn't budge and I hurt my wrist. After walking for 30 minutes, she went back to work and I went home.

I worked on getting my project pics together and organized so I could pick a project for Saturday. Finally I picked the scrubber sponge. I went to my sewing room to find some fabric, batting, and netting. I had saved some from packages of garlic and onions. I cut two 4x5.5 pieces of each. I stacked them appropriately and sewed around the edges, leaving a space for turning. So far so good. But when I attempted to turn it inside out, the netting edges came out of the stitching line. So I took it all apart, sewed the netting securely to one piece of fabric with a shortened stitch. Then I made the sandwich again and sewed around. But again, when I turned it inside out, some of the netting poked out. I topstitched it anyway. Then I posted the project to Facebook using the picture that came with the directions. Oh well

Chris came home from work with his usual Thursday pizza. I worked on my blog. I wanted to pick lettuce from the tower garden, but it was raining. When it stopped, I made a salad, and tea. Then we watched the last episodes of season 6 of Cheers. I read my book until I was falling asleep. Then I went to bed.

Stovetop grills in the dishwasher

Wednesday

I did not sleep well last night. I got up at 8, checked for texts, and prepared for coffee morning. After doing exercises, I watered the plants and flattened mounds. I sent a text to Jamie, then read a book for 20 minutes. I meditated and tapped for over an hour.

Chris came home for lunch but did not stay long. I cleaned the bathrooms and kitchen. I pulled the top rack out of the dishwater so I could get the stove grills in. I ran the dishwasher and swept floors.

I got dressed and went to the garden. I came home to change my shoes, then went to the gym to walk with Diane and Terri. Diane left at 4 but Terri and I kept walking. After 20 minutes, I went home to get the book that needed renewing and took it to the library. Saronna was there with her boys. I went to see Melissa in her office and she said she had already renewed it for me. She and I kibbitzed for awhile. Probably an hour, because when I left, it was after 5:30.

Chris was not home when I got there, but he arrived soon after with most of the towels and bowls that we used to bring food to the chaplain's family. He started cooking rice and beans. Then he took a large suitcase to the colonel. I turned off the rice and beans when they were finished.

There were a few raindrops coming down, so I rolled up my windows. A storm was forecasted, so I wondered if the pool would close. I brought in the green onion slices from yesterday. They seemed quite dry to me. I took the racks from the dishwasher and put them back on the stove. Then I returned the top rack of the dishwasher.

Chris came back, and said the pool was closed. I made tea and we watched four episodes of Cheers. Then I read my book until I realized I was sleeping more than reading. I turned off the router and went to bed.

Dead timer

Tuesday

I got up about 7:30. After the usual ablutions, I sliced up grapefruit rind for the garden. I added to the compost. I put the colonel's mask on my laptop so I won't forget to replace the elastic later. I jotted notes while listening to James Corbett. I put the new net jacket on the tower garden.

I went to my garden, but the timer battery was dead and I could not get water out. So I went to the Mustang Run house to clean. I called Jamie, then started on the walls in the living room. I got multiple long texts from Jenni's friend Sue. Finally I responded that I was on the clock and would read her e-mails later. When Jamie showed up, she let me vent about Sue blaming Jenni for all her problems. Then she worked outside while I worked inside.

At noon I went home to make breakfast. Michelle stopped by to give back the cone and thread stand that I lent her. I gave her a muffin with goat cheese on it. She tasted it and described the effect. She liked the spices that Mickie gave me.

I read e-mail while I ate. I sprinkled cayenne on some cheese squares and ate them. But somehow, all of a sudden, I had cayenne in my left eye! Oh that hurt! I tried washing it off and wiping it off. I dunked my eye in a bowl of water. Finally it was tolerable, but the burning continued.

I took my trombone over to Saronna's house. We looked at a baby bird in their back yard. I played with Saronna and Sebastian. I went to the gym to walk. I talked to Mickie, thanking her for the spices. Then I walked with the four ladies.

Afterwards, I went home to hydrate. I also had a bite to eat. Chris came home for supper. I went to the garden with new batteries for the timer. I used gallon jugs to water the potatoes. It was threatening to rain.

On the way back, I went to the post office for the mail. Then I went home to get the ill books that are due today. I went to the library, dropping off the one book I read. He said to bring the other one back tomorrow so Melissa could call the lending library to see if it could be renewed.

When I got home, I finished the colonel's pants, and put new elastic on his mask. It was good to have that out of the way after staring at them for a month. I picked dried mint and dandelion leaves from the netting on the back porch, and sorted them into baggies. Michelle dropped by to give me a bag of cat litter and asked me to look in on her cat while she's gone. I finished collecting the dried leaves, then cut an onion stalk. I sliced it up, and put some in the netting outside to dry, as an experiment. I tried eating what was left, but they were tough. I guess I should have cut a younger one.

I jotted notes for my blog, and posted for yesterday. I made tea, and practiced my trombone. I figured out more chords for the piece that doesn't have a piano part. We watched four episodes of Cheers. Later I read from the book that needs renewing. Then I read e-mail until almost midnight and went to bed.

Meeting the new family

Monday

I started a loaf of bread for Chris. I watered all the plants, then went to the garden. Afterward, I went to clean at a house on Mustang Run. I started on the fridge. Jamie arrived later. We worked on the stove. I cleaned the cabinets, walls, baseboards, and dishwasher while she scrubbed the tub and toilets. Then I started in the utility room. I got texts from Michelle and Chris about the chaplain's wife going to the ER.

When I got home around 3, I was exhausted. There was chicken in the oven and rice in the rice cooker. I made breakfast and ate part of it, then went walking with the ladies. We chatted about the events of today.

When I got home, Chris was taking food out of the oven. I helped him make a salad. We took the food to the hotel where the chaplain and his wife and three kids were staying. We chatted with them, then left so they could eat.

I read Telegram messages for awhile, then put on my bathing suit. I went to the pool for Jenni's last water aerobics class. But Jenni wasn't there so I swam laps. She showed up about half an hour later. But all we did was talk; her and Heather and I. Then the lifeguard called time and we got out, and toweled off. I was surprised that I felt better after swimming, rather than more tired. I went into the gym to tell Mickie how much I enjoyed the spices she gave me. But Tiffany said she left earlier.

I went home. I changed into dry clothes and worked on my blog. I made tea and we watched Cheers till 10:30. I read e-mail while listening to videos until late, then went to bed.

The last cat sitting

Sunday

I texted the new chaplain's wife. Chris says they are coming to base today. I brushed and swished, then watered all my plants. I went up the hill to feed the cats, refresh their water, and drymop the floors, and wipe the counter tops. Then I went to the garden to check on those plants. I changed the watering schedule on the timer from 12 hours to 8 hours.

When I got home, I worked on gopher mounds. I took a bar of Irish Spring and shaved it into the holes, added cat litter, and watered thoroughly. When I came inside, I whipped up cheese sticks with a sampling of spices that Mickie gave me last Sunday. For good measure, I also made a batch of muffins.

I made and ate breakfast, then got ready for church. I packed some cheese squares in a container, grabbed my trombone and headed out. When I got there, Sebastian was at the piano and Pastor Chris was getting ready. Sgt King was there, too, setting up.

Other people trickled in. Finally I whispered to Pastor Chris was everyone was here. He said an opening prayer, and I stood up with my trombone. I announced the hymns, and nodded to Sebastian, then we played them. It went well.

Then Pastor Chris said we'd start out with communion after a few words. Well, it took him the whole service to say 'a few words' about communion. So after we lined up to get a piece of matso and a cup of juice, we had two minutes of silence, then he prayed and we sang the last song. I thanked him for coming especially since we might not see him again.

I went home and ate a banana and a grapefruit. I read e-mail. Then I filled a water bottle and went to the gym. I met Diane and Jenni. We worked out, then went in the sauna. Jenni and I had a nice chat. Then we got out and toweled off. We talked to Jud about the MWR trips that no one takes (because they don't know about them?)

I went home and read e-mail. I ate slices of cucumber with goat cheese. The muffins were great with goat cheese! Then Chris and I went up the hill. The colonel and his family were back. She talked to me and Chris talked to him. She wrote a check for cat care. I gave him his mended pants, but he found a place I had missed so I took them back. Michelle started texting me on the way home. Casey was waiting with a bag of used cat litter.

I tried to finish my blog in between texts from Michelle. I made tea and we watched 4 episodes of Cheers. I read the interlibrary loan book until almost midnight. It is due on Tuesday.

Cleaning house (but not mine)

Saturday

I watered the plants. I went to the company house where I pulled the sheets out of the washer and put in towels. I left the washer and dryer running while I went up the hill to care for the cats. I flushed all the toilets, ran the faucets and removed most of my cleaning supplies.

I went to the garden. Emily was there. She said there was a u-pick place an hour away. $11 per bucket for whatever veggies and fruits you pick. I pulled up and gave her some mint.

I went home. I asked Chris for a massage. Later we both took showers. I got dressed, then made and ate breakfast. I read e-mail.

I went to Jamie's house. I paid her for the yard work. She had extra stuff, so I picked out some for me and also for the swap shop. She put it in my trunk. I went back to the company house. Jamie helped me dress the beds, then left. I washed dishes, cleaned the house, hung the towels, mopped floors, and took out the trash. All in 2 hours. I found a bar of Irish Spring in the trash and saved it for the gophers.

I came home, brought the cleaning supplies in, then raided the fridge for supper. After checking e-mail, I finished my interlibrary loan book. I made tea and we watched four episodes of Cheers. I watched a documentary and then went to bed.

Why are the sheets never done?

Friday

First I brushed and swished, then watered and fertilized the plants. I went to feed the cats, short version. I skipped the garden. Jamie came over. We worked together to pick up sticks and tumbleweeds in my lawn. She went home for something and I went to meet Casey at the greenhouse to investigate the solar fan. He allowed as it was a nice toy, but underpowered for cooling the whole greenhouse. I took my solar fan and went home. Jamie came back at the same time. We worked again on raking, filling at least 6 trash cans with tree debris and squashed tumbleweeds. I took a break to make and eat breakfast. Then we were going to go to the landfill, but she went home for something and it took too long.

Chris and I went to Tooele while Jamie mowed and trimmed the lawn. We shopped at the usual places plus Joanns for mask elastic. We listened to the book on CD on the way home.

I ate brazil nuts and checked e-mail. Then I went to the company house to throw sheets in the washer. I read outside on the back porch. I ate barbecue for supper. I also had some cheese and seed crackers.

I put on my swimsuit, then went to the company house to transfer the sheets to the dryer, but found the washer hadn't run. It was on pause. [bad words] I set it to run, then went to the pool. I swam and talked to our neighbors about chickens. Jenni was out of town. Afterward, I went to the garden to water. I found pods on the pea plant. Very unexpected. Since when do peas grow in 100 degree heat?

I went home to change. I went back to the house to transfer the sheets, but they weren't done. I waited, then gathered the trash. When the washer was finally done, I gathered the towels, and put them in. I put the sheets in the dryer, then locked up.

When I got home, I posted to my blog, and made tea. We watched two episodes of Cheers, then sat on the couch for awhile, almost falling asleep. I read e-mail, and went to bed.

Freezing eggs

Thursday

I got up after 7:30. I watered the plants, flattened mounds and set the traps. Then I went to the colonel's house to feed and water the cats. I found spitup on one of the tables, and cleaned it up, grumbling about spitty kitties. Then I went to the garden to water and fertilize. When I got home, I read e-mail. I took frozen eggs from the popsicle containers. I beat 3 eggs and froze that in a small container.

I made breakfast, and ate it while watching The Highwire. Chris came home for lunch. We got into an argument because one doctor said there were no placebo controlled studies on childhood vaccines. He ran back to work when he realized he was supposed to be attending a meeting. I finished watching the show.

Michelle came over with an empty jar. She needed thread so I gave her a cone of thread and a thread stand. I paid her in goat cheese for the eggs she brought the other day. She wanted more cheese and offered to pay for it. We talked for some time. Then she left so we could get ready to walk. But when I showed up at the school, she wasn't there. Diane and Jenni walked with me around the shadier block. I said it wasn't as long as the other block and they said they'd have to time it. It seemed pretty obvious to me.

When I got home, I drank some whey and made seed crackers. I took the egg mix out of the small container and put it in a bag with the other frozen ones. I put a baggie in the container and refilled it with three beaten eggs. I also put eggs in the popsicle container and this time added the sticks, hoping it would be easier to get them out.

I worked outside, watering, and annoying gophers. I picked more greens to dry. I washed them and laid them out on the lawn chair. I raked up more sticks from the grass. I came in to work on my blog. I made tea and we watched the last three episodes of The Umbrella Academy.

I read e-mail and went to bed.

Eggs and more eggs

Wednesday

I started coffee morning, completed the exercises, then watered all my plants and went to feed the cats. I also stopped off at the garden to water plants there. I noticed a beet coming up. When I got home, there was a bag with two cartons of eggs on the front porch.

I finished coffee morning. Chris came home for lunch. I started cleaning. It was almost 2 when Diane texted me about walking early. I got dressed and went to the school. Diane gave me $5 for goat cheese, but I gave it back and asked her to send it to CJ for the eggs left on my porch. We walked around the block. When I got back, I found eggs on my front porch and the milk jars were gone. Now I owe Michelle.

I listened to This Week with Mary and Polly. I tried to freeze eggs in my mini muffin pan. But the cups were too small. I could not find a regular muffin pan, so I got out my popsicle molds and they seemed to work fine. Little did I know it would be tough to get them out.

I raked gopher mounds and tree debris in the left side yard. I got dressed and went to the pool. I joined Jenni and her friend Sue, who looks like she is American Indian. We talked as we did exercises in the pool. She invited us to spend a day with her at Hotworkx when Jenni gets back from her long trip.

We talked outside the gym. They went to see the garden and I went home to change into dry clothes. I posted to my blog, and made tea. We watched two episodes of The Umbrella Academy.

I watched a video on gut health, then checked e-mail again before going to bed.

Drying greens

Tuesday

I got up around 7:40. After the usual brushing and swishing, I watered all the plants with a little nitrogen. I mended Chris' pants and sewed a netting bag. I sliced up grapefruit rind.

I went to feed the cats, scrub the oven, etc. Then I went to the garden. I covered the kale with the netting bag. There were tiny black bugs everywhere. And they bite! I scattered pieces of rind around my plants. I noticed a second pea plant coming up. I had brought the flower fermentation for the peonies and roses. But when I opened it up, there was mold in it. I threw most of it out near said flowers. I picked more tumbleweed for the bucket, and pulled a few weeds.

When I got home, I took another serrazime. I jotted notes for my blog. I made and ate breakfast.

I went to play with Saronna. Sebastian (the piano student) was there. We played the songs for next Sunday from the hymnal.

Afterward, I talked to Sgt King at the chapel. Then I walked with Diane. After we talked, I went home. listened to some short videos. I ate barbecue for supper. Chris came home from work. I picked up the dried dandelion and plaintain leaves and put them in separate bags.

I went to the library but they were closed early. I sent a message to my neighbor who runs it. I watered the grass in places, and some gopher holes. When the gopher came up, I smacked it with the hose. I flattened more mounds. I filled in some holes. I raked tree debris from the left side yard. Well, parts of it. When I came in, I had an answer from my neighbor. She left the library early to go to the commissary. I asked Chris if she can just leave early. I posted to my blog and made tea. We watched several episodes of The Umbrella Academy. Then I read e-mail until bedtime.

Pool Party

Monday

I got up about 8. I brushed and swished, then watered all the plants, indoors and out. I also planted two more garlic sprouts. I pushed over gopher mounds and spread cat litter. I went to feed the cats. Willow disappeared after I put out the food. I couldn't find her anywhere. So I just played with Belfast. Then I went to the garden. I did a lot of fertilizing. I took out the mass of weeds in the bucket and replaced them with fresh tumbleweed. I also fed the peonies and roses.

Back at home, I washed the utensils from cheese-making, as well as some breakfast dishes. I started reading e-mail.

Chris warmed up the pulled pork and the barbecue sauce. He put beer in a cooler. We took it to the pool. Food was on a table and they were beginning to cook hamburgers and hotdogs. I sat in the shade, not wanting to burn in the midday sun. Jenni joined me as did Michelle. We chatted and ate. Other people showed up. Our husbands joined us. It was around 2:30 when we left, promising to meet back at 7 when the sun was not so hot.

I read e-mail. I laid down for awhile. I picked dandelion and plantain, washed it, and laid it out to dry on the back porch. I picked and ate some lettuce from my tower garden. I worked on my blog.

Just before 7, I put on my suit and headed for the pool. I stopped at the chapel to get two hymn books for tomorrow. I noticed that the sanctuary lights were on. I could not find any way to turn them off. I went to the pool and cornered Jenni since she was the last one there on Sunday. She said the pastor had turned them on and she told me where the switches were. Michele and Heather joined us. We did water aerobics for longer than usual. So I asked the lifeguard what time it was and she said 8:01. So we all got out of the pool, dried off, and went home. Actually, I went by the chapel and turned the lights off, then went home.

I posted to my blog and made tea. Since I hadn't eaten 'breakfast', there was no tea so I heated water and used a tea bag. We watched 1.5 episodes of Umbrella Academy. We stopped early because I got a text from Michelle saying her husband had bought fireworks and they were ready to light them. So I drove to the firestation, which was where anyone on base could legally shoot off fireworks tonight. Others were ahead of us in lighting theirs, so I parked and chatted with Michelle. Then Casey lit his. They went really high, made a bang, and little parachutes floated to the ground. Michelle was disappointed that he hadn't gotten the umbrella kind. Diane and Jenni brought sparklers. We had fun trying to light them in the breeze. But it was worth it. Then some guys brought the big ones that exploded into an umbrella of color. A few minutes later and he concluded that his $200 was well spent. Sheesh! I didn't realize they were so expensive. I gave Michelle a ride home.

As I passed the chapel, around 11, it seemed like the altar lights were on. I went inside and tried to find a way to turn them off, with no luck. When I got home, I put the empty goat milk jars outside as Michelle requested. I told Chris about the lights and he said there are spot lights that stay on all the time. I wasn't sure that that was all that was on, but I dismissed the subject.

I read e-mail for awhile, then followed Chris to bed.

Goat milk lite

Sunday

I woke early, but kept doing the exercise where you move energy down to your feet and out. That kept sending me back to sleep. I finally got up at 8:30. I brushed and swished. I watered my plants. Chris put pork in the oven to make barbeque.

I went to the colonel's house to feed his cats, etc. I noticed that someone had mowed the yard and cleaned up the tumbleweeds since I was there yesterday. I went to the garden. Diane and Mindy were there. We chatted. They both had bad experiences where someone took something of theirs or picked from their garden.

It was a little early, but I made and ate breakfast. Then I changed into a red and blue outfit. I arrived at the chapel at 12:45. Soon the boy pianist arrived. While he played, his parents and teacher showed up. Then the pastor. Rick and Jenni came, as did Saronna and her girls. Diane showed up during the first song. Sebastian played the piano and I accompanied him on trombone. Mostly we were together, but I couldn't always follow his intro.

After the sermon, we played The Star Spangled Banner. Too bad Saronna did not bring her string bass. Then we all chatted and had cookies (which were about right after the wet paper towel.) The piano teacher had her pupil try out the electric keyboard because she said the piano was out of tune. Most people left, but three of us stayed. We chatted in the fellowship hall.

I went home to read e-mail. I changed clothes and laid down for awhile. Then I put on a bathing suit and clothes over it. I went to the gym. The lady at the desk gave me a bag of spices that she picked from her garden. Michelle showed up. We chatted until after 5:30. I did some weightlifting. The band director walked by and Michelle asked him to help with the choir that we are starting. Then at 6 we left. There was no time to sit in the sauna.

When I got home, Chris cooked mushrooms. He threw in some rice. That was my supper, plus some cheese. I read e-mail. I heated goat milk to 180, then added salt and vinegar. But this time it did not curdle. I wondered if salted milk doesn't curdle. But when I looked it up, yes it does.

I worked on my blog. I heated the milk again and heated tea. I left the milk sit while we watched the last episodes of Cheers and one of The Umbrella Academy. By then, curds had formed. But they were small, soft, and not easily separated from the whey. I painstakingly did the best I could, then put it all in the fridge. There wasn't much time left to check e-mail before going to bed.

Cleaning the chapel

Saturday

I got up around 8. I brushed. I watered plants. I swished. I went to feed the cats. I flushed all the toilets and ran the faucets to refill the plumbing traps. I went to the garden. Mindy was there, but I did not talk to her. I watered my plants plus the roses and the peonies.

When I got home, I planted sweet potato slips that had rooted in a cup. I hunted up all my leftover tampons. There is a shortage here and a neighbor needs some. I asked Chris for a massage, then we showered.

I got dressed, then made and ate breakfast. I looked high and low for the Heat-n-bond that I bought yesterday. Then I discovered that I already had two packages. I chose the open one. I looked high and low for my bag of patriotic fabrics. But I never found it. I had to pick yardage from my collection. It was the right colors if not actual patriotic in theme.

Chris put my sewing machines in my trunk. We went to the chapel and he carried them in, then left. I unloaded my bags of supplies. I started making a pinwheel. Jenni arrived. I helped her make a pinwheel. No actual sewing was required. We chatted for awhile, then she organized in the fellowship hall while I cleaned the front doors and windows. I also pulled some weeds. We checked all over the chapel for choir music, but only found a few Christmas and Easter contada books.

We packed up and went home. Chris was talking to Michele. I talked to Michele for a bit. Chris found my Aires Tech in the wash. Sigh. I called Faye about choir music that Dad had. I listened to a Dr. Berg video on losing fat. One suggestion was sleep: take vit D + K2 + nutritional yeast before bed, 1T ACV,

I made banana oatmeal cookies. While they were baking, I watched gardening videos. Then I put on my suit and went to the pool. Jenni and Courtney were there. I jumped in and Jenni led us in water aerobics. Then I swam some laps. This lifeguard did not ask us to leave early. In fact, I swam until I was ready to stop. We dried off and went home.

I tried one of the cookies. It was a bit dry. I put a wet paper towel over them. I changed out of my wet suit. I made a salad and ate it while reading Telegram messages. Then I wrote my blog post. I made tea and we watched four episodes of Cheers. We made the bed with fresh sheets. Then I read e-mail until almost midnight.

Shopping Day

Friday

I got up late after staying up late. I brushed and swished. I watered my plants, then went to the colonel's house to feed the cats. I washed their fountain. I scooped up the litter. I played with their favorite toy, which is a mouse with ribbon tails on a small fishing pole. I removed some tumbleweeds from the front door and took them around back. There seemed to be less furniture on the back patio, but I could not see any around, perhaps blown by the wind. I walked around to the chaplain's old house and peeked in the window. It seems the shag rug was replaced with the same carpet we have here.

I went to the garden. I watered my plants and fertilized between the rows. I watered the peony and the rose bush. I dug up some mint and gave it to Mrs. Pace. When I got home, Chris was in the shower. I scattered three bags of cat droppings around the yard. I planted sprouted garlic and flattened some mounds. Chris went to work.

I read e-mail and made breakfast. Chris came home. When I finished eating and making a list, we went to Tooele. We listened to the book on CD. We shopped at Luckey's. While Chris was checking out, I walked to Melanie's. I picked out a few things and chatted with the owners. Then I dropped my stuff in Chris' car and went to Joanne's. I found some Heat-n-bond for the class tomorrow. I did not find any patriotic fat quarters. When I went to check out, the lady said there was a coupon for 25% off, which reminded me that last week I got a coupon for 50% off. So happy!

We shopped at Macey's. Still did not find the full size bottle of hydrogen peroxide. I am always running out. Then we went home. Chris had already gone to the post office so we didn't stop. I had something to eat while reading e-mail and texting Michelle. Then I put on my suit and went to the pool. Jenni and I swam around and chatted until the guard told us we had five minutes. Because there is no clock, we didn't know if it was early again. Turns out it was. I went into the locker room to look for my Aires pendant, but it wasn't there. I can't figure out what happened to it.

We toweled off and went home. I jotted notes for today and posted for yesterday. I made tea and we watched 4 episodes of Cheers. I read e-mail until time to go to bed.

The jalapeno contest

Thursday

I got up around 7:30. I looked for my calcium hydroxyapatite. I couldn't find it. I ordered more, not realizing that it would show up later. I changed the air filter and washed the pre-filter. I could not find a new coal filter and I thought I had both kinds.

I watered my plants. I fertilized the trees on the way to the colonel's house. I fed and watered the cats. I went to the garden. I watered and weeded mine and the one across the way.

When I got home, I made and ate breakfast while watching The Highwire. They talked about the mental stress and developmental delays due to the lockdowns. Then I read e-mail until 2:50.

I drove to the swap shop with my book. I also got the mail. I read for an hour, pausing only when Diane came in to look around. It was after 4 when I stopped reading, and locked the shop and went home.

I made ice tea to take along. Chris came home, so I went with him to the Independence Day celebration. It was in front of the community club. The tables were full and the band was playing. Chris wandered off. I talked to the lady selling t-shirts, then to John from church. I spoke with the librarian who was giving out paperback books. I went to the shooting range and shot up a paper with an alien on it. Then I tried the axe-throwing, but that didn't go nearly as well. Then I talked to Diane, and then to Jenni. Saronna came with her kids. I played with the baby, and then 'danced' with him. There was a hotdog eating contest, and then a jalapeno eating contest. I was surprised when Chris entered because he doesn't like jalapenos. Each person was given 5. He only ate one, and slowly. Others were eating to win, and suffered as a result.

As it was getting dark, I returned the baby to his mother. Michelle was gone and she had said something about ribs, so I walked to her house. It was brightly lit. She welcomed me and said the Lands were bringing the food. When they arrived, Chris was with them (or just happened to arrive at the same time.) We ate and sat on the couch talking. It went late. The fire chief stopped by, just to see what was going on in the brightly lit house. I think Chris was the only person he knew. But he had a good time. When Michelle mentioned the time, I figured we should leave. She gave me two jars of goat milk and I paid her. Then we got in Chris' car and he drove us home.

He got on his computer while I worked on my blog. He went to bed much sooner than I did, but it was still after midnight.

No kitty cuddles

Wednesday

I prepared for coffee morning. After the exercises, I watered my plants, then went to the colonel's house. I left the side door open to air out the gasoline fumes. I changed the cats' food and water. I collected a bag of used litter. I scrubbed at the floor of the oven, then sat down for cuddles, but neither cat came.

I went to the garden. Water droplets appeared from nowhere, so I decided to go home. I stopped at the greenhouse to spread some cat feces where the mice are coming in. I could see that something tore up the plastic cover on the table. Hmmm.

When I came out, there were no more water droplets. I went back to my garden plot. I watered the plants (even though there is a sprinkler system). I watered again with diluted whey. Veronica came by to chat. She asked about my garden. Neither one of us are happy with the way the plants are growing (or not growing). I spread dried citrus peels around the perimeter. I saved some for my car because it smells so nice.

When I got home, I jotted some notes for my blog, then resumed coffee morning with meditation and tapping.

Chris came home for lunch before I finished. After I finished, I started cleaning the bathrooms. He went back to work, and I cleaned the kitchen, then vacuumed floors. I took a shower and went to meet Diane at the school for walking. I returned some items to the library. I went home and started catching up on e-mail. It rained. Chris came home after work, then headed to Mass. I listened to a podcast on holistic dentistry.

Chris came home from work. I put on a bathing suit and headed to the pool. Jenni wasn't there yet. I checked the lost-n-found for the card thingy I usually wear around my neck. They didn't have it. I checked the sauna and it wasn't there either. When Jenni arrived, she said there was a sign on the sauna saying no one is allowed in when there is no one at the desk. We swam around together until the lifeguard said we had 5 minutes left. So we got out, dried off and headed to the parking lot. Then I looked at my watch and it was only 7:45.

I went home and changed. I asked Chris about the new sauna policy. I jotted notes for my blog and finished the video on dentistry. Turns out the featured dentist is in Salt Lake City. So close and yet so far away. I posted hours for the swap shop tomorrow. I made tea and we watched four episodes of Cheers. Then I read e-mail until I went to bed.
