Pickled Hairing

I got up at 8:30. I cut some squares and looked for other fabrics that would work well as leaded glass. Chris already had the router on. So as soon as I sewed two squares on a black strip, I sat down to read e-mail. I made a mug of hot bone broth with turmeric. I listened to a podcast on EMF. I came across a recipe for hair care, so I mixed up some coconut oil, castor oil and geranium oil. It called for jojoba but I substituted the castor oil. I massaged the mixture through my hair and put on a shower cap. Then I blasted it with a hair dryer to warm it up. I let it sit on my head for more than the suggested 30 minutes. I made breakfast. I listened to some short audios as I ate. Then I took a shower to wash out the oil mixture. I washed at least 4 times and maybe more, but with no luck. My conclusion – don't use castor oil on your hair.
I combed it, then went for a walk. I was checking the old homestead sites for flowers. I found a tulip blooming, and signs of other things that will bloom later. I took a flowering twig from a tree. I brought it home and put it in a spice jar to see how long the flowers lasted. I checked e-mail. I ate the last of the fish and some dates. Chris took a shower while I gathered the glass and cardboard recycling. I put it in my trunk. On the way to the recycling center, I went to a crystal shop that Jennifer recommended. I had a nice discussion of special stones with the staff. The main man gave me a white crystal for opening my palm lines, or something like that. I had my aura photographed. It came with a chakra report. For the reading, I had to put my hand on a metal plate. Then my picture came up on the screen, with colors around me. They were changing. She said they changed according to my thoughts, but it did not seem that way to me. I picked up some of the stones and crystals to see of any of them changed the colors. She said they made my aura larger, but it did not seem so to me. But, it was worth the entertainment value. I bought some stones, including shungite which is supposed to protect from EMFs, and took some pictures. Then I took the glass and card board to recycling and dropped it off in the proper receptacles.
When I got home, I looked up how to get castor oil out of hair. The recommendation was to soak it in vinegar and wash it out. So I diluted vinegar in a spray bottle and sprayed it liberally over my hair. I put a shower cap over it to let it soak. I made a large salad and ate it. I meditated with Oprah and Deepak. I played Solitaire until Chris was ready to watch TV.
We watched three episodes of Enterprise. Chris put clean sheets on the bed. I stayed up to blog and to wash vinegar out of my hair.

It looked like rain

I had the usual hard time falling asleep, but then I slept through the night. I had only taken the kava and ashwagandha before retiring. When I woke up, I was still breathing through my nose, even though it wasn't entirely clear. I got to comb my chicken hair into submission. Then I went to the kitchen to check the time. It was 8:05. I warmed some water in the teapot, but it still had chopped turmeric in it. I sewed some black strips to some squares, then turned on the router. I jotted some notes while waiting for the internet to find me.
When it came up, I checked e-mail and deleted the ones I wasn't going to read. I hovered on Facebook, waiting for an old tapping buddy, but she was not there. I watched an episode of TQS. I made another batch of vit C mixture. I took some niacin and when it kicked in, did some exercises to get the lymph going. I got out the mixer I used to make hummus with. But discovered that it leaks. So I used the blender attachment to the Oster. It made a big batch because I inadvertantly used the 1/3 cup instead of the ¼ cup measure. I noticed the day getting brighter. It had looked like rain earlier. I made breakfast and ate it while watching another episode of TQS.
When the sun came out and dried the grass, I went outside to mow. I mowed a little higher than usual because the greens were so tall. But at least I cut off all the dandelion flowers. It seems once they flower, the leaves start to turn blotchy and they are not appetizing. When I came in, I needed a rest. So I did one of Oprah's meditations. Then I did some tapping for my cyst, which has come back.
Chris came home with a package. It was only 3pm so they must have let people go early. I put away the contents: supplements and chia seed. I made a large salad and ate it while tapping and then playing Solitaire. I looked up two places that Jennifer mentioned the other night.
I washed up and got dressed. I thought a teal top and blue pants would be ok for the service. I ate some fish and brushed my teeth. It was nice out, but I took a coat for later. When I got to the church and walked in, the whole choir was wearing black. Jennifer had told them last night to wear black. So Doris took off her black shrug and put it on my shoulders to cover the bright teal top. Hey, at least I had glow-in-the-dark fingernails from peeling the turmeric yesterday to go with it. I asked the altos if there was anything else that Jennifer told them last night. They said just that I was singing a solo and giving a speech.
In a few minutes, the choir from Hope Methodist joined us. We practiced our pieces for the night. Then we listened to the organist play a few selections. It was pretty amazing what she did with that new organ and all the different voices it had programmed into it. You'd have thought there was a whole orchestra.
Then the service began. As it progressed, two men turned the lights down. It got dimmer and dimmer and harder to read the music. I had a little penlight that was Mom's. I used it a few times. Then during the Lord's prayer, the choir got up and made a line around the congregation. We memorized the song and sang it in the dark. Then the pastor spoke the words “It is finished.”. He slammed the Bible shut. One little girl jumped. Then we were dismissed in silence. I went back to my seat to get my choir folder and to return Doris' shrug. I could hardly made her out in the dark. I walked out to my car and had to rummage through my purse to find my keys. Then I drove home.
I arrived at 8:20. Chis was on his laptop. I made a mug of hot bone broth with turmeric while he cued up Enterprise. We watched three episodes. Then we retired to our laptops. I took a few evening supplements and posted to my blog before going to bed.

Where's the old lace?

I woke up at 8:30, breathing through my nose. Ahh, sweet air! I got up to sew some small squares, then turned on the router. I warmed up some water and squeezed lemon into it and drank it. I read e-mail and swished with coconut oil. About 10, I washed up and got dressed. I packed a lunch and a can of coconut water into my purse. Then I listened to an audio until it was time to leave.
I put my sewing machine in the car. Then I drove to the chiropractor's office. I signed in and gave a lip balm to the receptionist. She seemed delighted with the gift. Soon the doctor came out and said goodbye to his last patient and ushered me into his exam room.
First we did the nutritional analysis. He muscle-tested me for an array of toxins and he only found two. One was arsenic and he said the other had something to do with the liver. He said it was very unusual for someone to be so low in toxins. He then tested for the needed dosages of the remedies. After that, he examined previous adjustments. He muscle-tested other spots. Then he had me lay down and he twisted my neck. I knew what he was about to do and tried to relax. Then he told me to wiggle my feet. As soon as I started to do that, he gave my head a small, sharp twist. This time it was a lot less traumatic for me. Then I sat up and was fine. He muscle-tested me to my cell phone and I went weak. Then he brought out a magnet of some kind, held it by the phone and then I tested strong. I asked where I could get one, and he said they were for sale at the front desk. Well, when I went out to pay, I forgot all about it. The price of the adjustments, plus the nutritional analysis, plus the remedies was over $100.
I paid, and then faced the rain. My umbrella was in the car. So I arranged my purse and clipboard as best I could, then I ran for the car. Once inside, I drove to quilting. The rain had let up somewhat, so I got my sewing stuff out of the trunk and went inside. There were some empty seats, so I took one and unpacked. I ate the fat bomb and seed crackers. I chatted with the ladies as I worked on the red project. Leslie brought her dog, so I petted it. We talked about going to the float spa together one day.
We packed up around 2. I had to dodge raindrops to get my machine back to the car, which I drove up to the ramp. And then I went home. The gate guard remarked on my card, noting the expiration date in July. I think he was more concerned with the large word OVERSEAS. I told him we hadn't updated our cards because we could get orders to leave any time.
When I got home, I checked the house mail. I left my machine in the trunk. I ate an egg, an apple, cashews with butter, and some nuts. I looked up magnets to find out what kind of special magnet he had. The closest I could find was a polymagnet. It had poles printed on one side and did amazing things. I looked up sources of arsenic. I meditated.
Chris came home from work. He brought me a package. I suspected since it was raining, that it was probably the battery charger for the mower, but it seemed too small. Well, that is what it was. I read all the numbers on the new one and the old one and they did not match. So I contacted the company. They assured me that it would not shorten the life of my battery. So finally I accepted their word and plugged the battery up to charge. It did not seem rugged enough for the job, but they assured me that the company that makes them (not Neuton) stands behind them.
I processed e-mail. I heated some fish and onion soup in the toaster oven. I peeled a container of tumeric root with a spoon. As I peeled each one, I then sliced it and added it to a teapot of boiling water. When finished, I sat down to eat the fish and onion soup.
My tapping buddy called at 7. We tapped on her issues for over an hour. Chris turned off the burner and let the tea cool.
We watched two episodes of Enterprise. Chris made his sandwich and went to bed. I stayed up to pour the tumeric tea into ice cube trays, and then to post to my blog.
* This is the old charger, which is twice the size of the new one. *

Still congested

I did not spend much effort trying to breathe through my nose last night. I put a cold wet washcloth over my face and warm socks on my feet. I did not to go sleep right away, but the time was shorter than the last few nights. However, I woke up at 3am with a raging sore throat due to the fact that the washcloth fell off and the dry air burned my throat. I got up and drank some water but it was hard to swallow. I swished with salt water and went back to bed. I stuff the wet cloth in my mouth and held it there. Eventually I went back to sleep.
I woke up at 7:30. My nose was a little clearer, but by this time I was used to breathing through my mouth. I brushed and rinsed. I sewed a black strip to two small squares. I turned on the router. I could not get to my e-mail on the laptop, so I tried the desktop. But it was in Ubuntu. I restarted it and selected Windows from the menu. But it wanted to do a disk check. That took a while, and when I came back, it was in Ubuntu again. So I restarted it. I hung around until I thought it was on its way to Windows and downloading updates. I heated water for coffee and did my exercises when the niacin flush kicked in. When I went back to the desktop, it was in Ubuntu, again. This time I stayed with it until Windows came up. Then I discovered that Yahoo was down and so not available on any computer. Sigh. I completed my coffee morning with meditations from Oprah. I ran them through the speakers I bought for my laptop so I could hear it from other rooms. I also had healing music going on the desktop. I cleaned the kitchen. I looked for kefir recipes online and stumbled upon something disturbing. I quickly exited out, but not before the image was in my mind. Uggh. I was on my own, so I just blended up some kefir grains with goat milk and left it at that. Tasty. I cleaned the bathrooms, and then mopped the floors near the kitchen. I mopped myself into a corner, so I read e-mail (Yahoo was back up) while the floors dried. I had opened the doors earlier and turned off the heat because the weather was nice. Not sunny, but temperate. Around 3 I went for a walk. I chose the uphill route, but that meant coming downhill on the return. So was it really any extra exercise?
When I got back, I checked the mail. I made some bone broth and sipped it while working on e-mail. I emptied the mop water and put it and the mop away. I opened the bill from Radiology and saw that they want another check. I listened to an audio on clutter. She said CHAOS stands for Can't Have Anyone Over Syndrome. Her talk was about small daily habits that keep the house clean and the errands done. Chris came home from work and made his supper.
I took a shower. It turned out to be a really long one because I scrubbed the mildew off the shower liner while I was in there. I also did a couple turns of hot and cold. Then I got dressed. I picked up the book Cecelia gave me about the Moravian trombone choir. I was reading it when William called to see if Chris had any job offers. Nope.
Then I drove to choir practice. The weather was nice so I did not need a coat. I took one anyway in case it was cold later. Doris met me in the parking lot and said the church was locked. So I unlocked the door and we went in. Jennifer was already there so ...???
Anyway, other people came and she had us sit where we will be sitting for Good Friday service. Doris passed around a card for everyone to sign for a member whose mother died. Then we practiced for Thursday and Friday and Sunday. We sang our anthem up front. Then we practiced Jesus Remember Me while standing in the aisles. We had to memorize it because the lights will be low or off. I did not sing well because of the congestion and because my left ear drum was opening and closing all the time.
After practice, Jennifer and I talked about going to get an ionic foot bath together. She mentioned a couple places I should check out for massages. Then we locked the church and went home.
Chris was on his laptop, but cued up Enterprise while I made some peppermint tea. I drank it as we watched one episode. Then he made his sandwich and went to bed. I stayed up to blog.

The new doctor in town

I had a hard time getting to sleep last night. I thought it might help to sleep in the lounger so my head would be raised, but it didn't. I could keep my nose open by swishing salt water, but I couldn't sleep doing that. Finally I wrung out a wet wash cloth and put it over my face to moisten the air I breathed through my mouth. Sleep was a long time coming.
When I got up, it was 9am. I had already decided not to go to quilting today, just in case I was contagious. So I sewed some black strips to a couple of small green squares. Then I turned on the router to read e-mail. I tried eating kimchi because it usually makes my nose run. And it did, but it did not clear the congestion.
I took a shower. At the end I did five rounds of hot and cold. That didn't budge the congestion either. I got dressed nicely. I ate a fat bomb, then made hotflash spray and mildew spray (because they were on my to-do list). I sprayed it on the shower curtain and left it to do its job. Then I made up a new batch of supplements. I ran out of vitamin E, which surprised me. Its one of the key ones.
Then I drove to the chiropractor. I got there a minute before my appointment time, but then had to wait 30 minutes to be seen. The doctor asked a few questions, then snapped my neck. I was surprised that he didn't use the little bumper thing which he usually does for adjustments. Something about it was scary. He had me sit up and then he explained that two of my vertebrae had been cocked to the right and he had slid them into proper placement. I didn't feel any different and he didn't have a mirror. So I asked him to measure my height again and this time I was 5” 1.5 inches tall – gained a whole half inch since last week. Then I asked me to muscle test me on a bunch of things I had written down. He had his secretary come in and be my surrogate since he thought I ought not to be holding my arms out right now. So he went through the list. Then he said to come back on Thursday and do a nutritional analysis.
I paid at the front desk and left. I went to the bank to deposit the check from Neilsen. But I cashed it instead. Then I went to the Asian store for kimbap. But when I parked, I spied a new store, offering acupuncture and maybe a foot massage? I went in to find out. The lady that came out said no massage right now, but she suggested an ionic foot detox instead. (I'll try almost anything once.) Her husband carried out a tub of warm water and had me put my feet in. Then she put the ionic array in the tub and told me to keep my feet touching it. During the half hour that it ran, she suggested removing the large mole on my face. But at $200, I declined. She talked about their new product – onion juice and all its benefits. But I didn't want that, either. She told me she was 64 and I swear she looked more like 46. I think both she and her husband are doctors of Traditional Chinese Medicine, which includes acupuncture and herbs. Did I mention that they are Korean?
When the ionic array was done, she took a small polaroid of my feet in the water. It showed particulate matter in black and brown and maybe green. The water was orange. She gave me paper towels to wipe my feet, and then little surgical booties. He took the tub away and she brought another machine that I put my feet into for a massage. He put a device across the back of my neck which had loops for my hands to hold it in place. It massaged my neck and shoulders for 15 minutes.
While that was going on, a lady came in to have a reading from the quantum resonance magnetic imager. It sounded quite interesting. When the massage was over, I went next door to get kimbap and then to the car to get my clipboard with the list of supplements. When I re-entered the store, the lady customer was gone. So it was my turn. The doctor told me to take off my watch and metal hair barrettes. Then she handed me a cylinder attached to a machine. I had to hold it against my heart for about a minute. On the screen I could see it going through the major organ systems. When it was over, I handed back the cylinder and he explained the results on the screen. Most of my results in the normal or close-to-normal range. He said my vit C, B-3, zinc and iron were low. He recommended foods to bring them up. There was a low heart volume on the left side. ??? He looked at my list of supplements and said I didn't need them, although he agreed with some of the powders I put in my breakfast. He said supplements make the body lazy. He also said I was borderline fat and should exercise at least 45 minutes a day. He said not to take melatonin, but to soak my feet in hot water with a cold compress on my head in order to get to sleep at night.
I paid, and took my kimbap home to eat with kimchi. I wrote an e-mail to Jennifer because I thought she might want to try it too. I read e-mail for a bit, then decided to go for a walk. I headed out, not sure exactly what route I was going to take, but it did take me 45 minutes. Chris was home when I got back. I ate some dried mango and bananas since the dr recommended dried fruit for iron.
I was feeling tired so I sat in the lounger and read a book. I got drowsy but did not fall asleep. So I got up and checked the time. It was 8. So Chris and I watched two episodes of Enterprise. He went to bed. He suggested that I take some Nyquil. I might have if it had been just a decongestant, but it had other stuff in it as well. So I stayed up to blog. And, if I have the energy, to put hot water in a foot tub and get a cold compress for my forehead.
* I so wish I hadn't left my phone at home, so I could post pics of the foot bath. This is just a random pic of blossoming trees. *

Not my best day

I had a hard time getting to sleep last night. My nose was congested. I tried not breathing, which worked, but only cleared it for about 10 seconds each time. I inhaled from my essential oil bottles, but without luck. I tried moving my head from leaning forward to leaning backward and back to break it loose, but no. Finally I resigned myself to breathing through my mouth, which usually means a sore throat in the morning.
I woke up early, hearing footsteps in the bedroom. Then the shower came on. I did not have a sore throat, but my nose was completely blocked. I laid on my infrared heating pad in the guest room. It felt good, but there was no change in congestion. Sometime after Chris left, I went back to sleep in my own bed.
When I got up again, it was 9:30. I disinfected my toothbrushes. I started cutting squares to sew, but then gave up and sewed together a pair from the stack Beverly gave me. I turned on the router and called the doctor's office to see if he still wanted me to show up. I did not want to infect him or his secretary. She said she would ask him and call back. I swished and checked e-mail. I boiled water and poured it over a towel in sink and put peppermint oil on it. I breathed that under a large towel, but my congestion did not abate. When she called back, the doctor had said to reschedule. So I did, for tomorrow. I called Bertha to tell her I wasn't coming to quilting so as not to 'share' whatever this is. It made me mad that I had to change my schedule. I hate being sick.
I took multiple rounds of vitamin C. I took colostrum. I drank a mug of hot bone broth. I jumped on my rebounder. I looked up acupressure points for sinus congestion and tried all of them. I tapped and tapped. I meditated with Oprah and Deepak. I massaged lymph points in the head and neck. I swished with salt water, and each time thought I was going to suffocate, but my nose would open just enough to get a small stream of air. Jennifer called to tell me her experience with the same doctor. There were parallels to my experience.
When Chris came home, he suggested a few things I had tried and one that I had rejected – snorting salt water. He changed his clothes and got on his laptop. I jotted some notes for the day. I took some niacin, then went for a walk. On the way, I picked some wild lettuce and violets. The walk seemed to help, temporarily. When I got back, I picked some dandelion, heated up some fish, and made a big salad,. I put some cayenne pepper on it in hope that it would clear the congestion. Nope. The niacin flush hit, but it did not help. I watched a video on total brain and body health. I paused it when Chris signed into the Fox network to watch last week's episode of Lucifer. But it would only give us 5 minutes. So we watched BBT instead, then the current episode of Lucifer, and then one episode of Enterprise. It was only 9pn, but we were both tired and I did not feel well. So I typed up my blog and we went to bed.

Palm Sunday

I got up at 7:30. That is when my phone alarm went off, but I don't remember hearing it. I sewed two patches together, then turned on the router. Chris was already up, but whatever he was doing on his laptop was offline. I checked my e-mail, then took a shower and got dressed. Chris went to mass at the local chapel. I ate a fat bomb because my stomach was rumbling. I watched a video that the choir director's son posted about edible backyard plants. When it was over, I grabbed my purse to go to church.
I took my heeled shoes separately to change into when I got there, but then decided to keep wearing the comfortable flats. We the choir warmed up inside. I gave Jennifer some small cosmetics things that I wasn't going to use. Cecelia lent me a pamphlet on the Moravian trombone choir. Then we went outside for the processional. We had good weather for standing outside with palm branches. We processed in at 10am. After a hymn, we had announcements and then the rest of the service. It included a retelling of the passion story. After the service, I put my palm branch back in the basket. I understand they will be burnt for Ash Wednesday next year.
I was going to call Chris to meet me at Publix, but I had left my phone at home, so I just went there. I changed my clothes, and we went to the grocery store together. When we got back, we put the food away. It barely fit because of food left from last week. I finished a piece of cheese, ate a banana, and then fixed breakfast. All the while listening to audio and reading about the benefits of intermittent breathing. I was tempted to eat more, so I went for a walk. I saw more daffodils growing in out of the way locations.
When I got back, I looked at dental stuff on Pinterest. Some of it was in foreign languages. Chris figured out why my embroidery software wasn't working and he fixed it. I took a pan of saltwater from the fridge. It had formed some square crystals, which I found interesting. I poured it in a jar for swishing. I ate some fish. I picked some dandelion and chives in the back yard. I made a large salad and ate it. I looked at some videos on getting rid or preventing dowager's hump.
I took a break to cut squares for the next project. Chris cued up Enterprise and I joined him. We watched three episodes. I started sneezing and realized I was catching the cold Chris had gotten several days ago. I took extra vitamin C and some echinacea. I put hydrogen peroxide in my ears. Then I sat down to write my blog.

Challenge completed

I got up around 9. I got dressed and fixed my hair. While looking in the mirror, I realized my head and neck were not straight. Why had I never noticed that before? And that with my hair swept back, I looked like Mom. That made me cry.
I did some sewing the quilt top, and then fired up my laptop. Chris already had the router on. I listened to some audios while I went through today's messages and links. I ate a fat bomb and made breakfast. I took a walk. When I got back, I cut some of the old monkey grass with handshears to make room for the new shoots.
I laid down for a session of Yoga Nidra on my infrared heating pad. It was very relaxing and I nearly fell asleep I read e-mail again and discovered that one is supposed to delete texts from their phone. I did not realize it was a form of clutter. So I deleted a bunch. Kurt had the record for sending me the most.
I sewed more strips to the triangles in the quilt top, then secured them to the blocks. I found a fabric for the corners to square it up. I was surprised to find that the 4 edges were within a quarter of an inch of being the same length. Whoo-hoo!
I ate some fish, an avocado, a handful of soaked nuts. I read up on dentinal fluid and how it cleans out the tubules in the dentin of teeth – in the absence of sugar.
I cleared my sewing table of all scraps so I could work on the next project, whatever it might be. I went to the garage to get some graph paper. But by then it was 8. When Chris finished what he was doing, we watched three episodes of Enterprise. I wore my special glasses which made lots of things look orange. I swished with a combination of salt, baking soda and essential oils. Then I wrote up my blog post for the day.

A sew-at-home day

I got up at 8:30. I sewed a block and triangle set to the center and then made another set. I turned on the router (or thought I did). I swished with salt water and tried to get on my laptop. But I had to go back to the router and turn it on (again?). I checked e-mail. I massaged the lymph pathways in my head and neck.
I looked up white streaks on gums. One link suggested that it might be fungal. So I applied hydrogen proxide to the gums and rinsed it with baking soda in water, what little pain there was, was reduced. I consumed some colostrum, I made and ate breakfast while listening to audios. I put some neem on the white spot which now looked like a fermata. I decided to swish with salt water more often.
I went searching for boxes that would have come from the dining room in Korea. Chris wanted some photographs that were on the table. I looked around the house, and then in the garage. It was such a nice day that I turned off the heat and opened all the doors, including the garage door. I hunted through boxes and found things like new pantyhose, microfiber dustcloths, and an extension cord. But not the photographs.
I worked on the orphan block quilt top. I finished sewing on the outside blocks and triangles. Then I put a small strip over all the bias edges. I started sewing other strips onto that to fill out the space. Then I heard the trumpet play retreat (or whatever it is they play at 5pm each day). My watch read 3:35. Just then I heard Chris come home and walk in through the garage. I hadn't realized it was so late.
I went for a walk. I checked out the spot where the daffodils were and it seems someone dug them up. I was hoping to find tulips near the same spot. But if there were, someone took those as well. As I neared the house, I checked the mail and cleaned papers out of my car.
When I got back inside, Chris cooked some fish for me. I picked dandelion in the backyard and made a salad. I ate it while reading e-mail and then playing Solitaire.
We watched three episodes of Enterprise. Then Chris went to bed since he was falling asleep on the couch anyway. I took my evening supplements and made some kava tea. Then I typed up my blog and went to bed. I hope I can sleep since I forgot to wear my special glasses.

Making adjustments

I got up just after 8. I sewed a pair of triangles to a block, then turned on the router. I checked e-mail. I listened to part of a podcast by the author of Glow 15, a book on health and nutrition and anti-aging. I paused it at 9:30.
I put my supplements in a box. They would not all fit so I took out the largest bottles and put some of each in small empty bottles. I put the box in one of the grocery store shopping bags. I put my clipboard in as well. I grabbed my container of fat bombs and a can of coconut water. I put it all in the back seat and wheeled my sewing machine out to the trunk. Then I departed for the doctor's office.
Apparently, 10am is the first appointment so I did not have to wait. He took me in the exam room. I showed him my box of supplements. He started muscled-testing me for each one. But so many tested weak that he decided that my system wasn't ready for all of that. He said most of the corrections from yesterday had held. He determined that by testing different points. He tested all my teeth and they were all strong. He made a few more adjustments and said we should take it slow, that it takes the body 90 to 120 days to fully acclimate to the changes no matter how many sessions there are. He also talked about his experiences in the military. When he was done, I went to the front desk to pay and left for quilting.
When I arrived, there were not many ladies there. I ate fat bombs while they ate their lunch, I worked on my red project. Christy got a box of old linens and quilts. She showed us what was in it. At 2:30 we packed up and left. I went to Advance Auto with my battery and charger. The lady was there, but all she said was that the charger probably was the problem and that I should try Batteries and Beyond on the parkway. So I went there. But they did not have a comparable charger, nor could they order one. So I went home.
I checked the mail. There was something important for some other name at our address, so I marked it out and put it in the outgoing box. I kept the pretty Easter card from MaryAnne. I ate a turkey burger and listened to more of the audio. I called Neuton and ordered a new battery charger. Chris came home with a package of supplements from Swansons. I swished with sea salt water while going for a walk. When I got back, I picked dandelion from the back yard. I laid down in the sunshine for a few minutes. Then I got up to make a large salad. I ate it while checking e-mail. I listened to the Day 4 meditation from Oprah. I took the new shower filter from its package and submerged it in water in the sink to saturate it.
I moved my laptop to the guest room. When my tapping buddy called, we were able to converse without interruption for over an hour. After the call, I laid down. When Chris finished what he was watching on his laptop, we watched two episodes of Enterprise. Chris made his sandwich and went to bed. I typed up my blog while wearing my new blue-blocking glasses. My eyes feel better wearing them, but so far getting to sleep has not been any easier.

My kind of doctor

I got up before 7:30. I considered the next step for the orphan block quilt while I swished. I sewed some triangles to a block and then the whole thing to the center. Then I turned on the router. I took some charcoal and read e-mail. Then I had a packet of vitamin C and some niacin. When the flush kicked in, I did my exercises. I made coffee and listened to two of Oprah's current meditation series. I also did some tapping.
Later I sprayed the bathrooms and kitchen with hydrogen peroxide and wiped them down. I used the broom and the vacuum to clean the floors. I emptied the dishwasher and restacked it. I mixed some colostrum with a fat bomb and ate that. Then I made and ate breakfast. I took a shower and dressed nicely. I updated my list of supplements. I clipped it to my board along with my blood test results.
I got in the car and drove down Bob Wallace toward the Dr's office. I spied an Advance Auto Parts store and stopped in to have the mower battery checked. But the lady had trouble getting a good connection. So I had to leave it there while I continued to my appointment. Luckily I had examined a street map and knew exactly how to get there.
I arrived a minute late but had to wait while the doctor chatted with his last patient. After the man left, the doctor started telling me how wonderful his coffee carafe was – no plastic, all stainless steel, etc. Finally I asked if I needed to sign in. The receptionist gave me a stack of forms to fill out. I wondered why she hadn't given them to me earlier. I had to answer lots of health questions for myself and a few for my parents. Then the doctor took me in a room with a desk. He explained that his practice was 92 percent women and that sometimes delicate subjects came up and he would recommend a woman doctor if I wanted. I didn't think it would be a problem. I told him about my infected gum and he gave me the name and number of his dentist.
Then we went into an exam room. He weighed me and measured my height and blood pressure and reflexes. He asked questions about my history. He muscled-tested me on a range of spots. He knew which ones hurt before I did. He said I had arthritis in my neck. He found evidence of a pinched nerve there, too, and my neck did not have the range of motion that he thought was normal. I told him I did tapping and he said that was what got me this far.
So he did some adjustments on my neck, shoulders and head. He also adjusted my ribs and then I could breathe better. Breathing felt so good, that I kept doing it. I got lightheaded. He said I was tired and should lie down. He put me in a darkened room for 20 minutes with soft music. He came back, gave me a hug and took me to the front desk Then he had another patient, and I paid the receptionist and booked another appointment for tomorrow to see if the adjustments held. I told her it was the first doctor visit where I actually felt better when I left the office.
I drove a circuitous route back to Advance Auto. The lady who had helped me had gone home for the day. It was after 5. Another lady said the readout on my battery indicated that it was fine but not charged. She said I could come back tomorrow afternoon with the charger and the first lady would help me charge it.
Then I went home. It was after six. I wanted to remain relaxed so as not to undo the adjustments. So instead of grabbing a quick bite and rushing to the church service., I made a salad and ate it. Then had a turkey burger. After my relaxing meal, I drove to church. I set an intention to arrive at the perfect time. And I did. I walked in just in time for the last hymn.
After the final words, I walked over to Jennifer. She gave me tiny vial that she thought I could use. I told her briefly about my visit to the doctor she recommended. She was very pleased. Then I had to go outside and get my choir folder which I had left in the car. Tamara was getting in her van and we spoke briefly. Then I got my folder and went back inside. Practice was starting. We sang and sang and when it got to be 8:30, I picked up my coat and left.
I drove home down Airport Road so as to see the city lights from the hill. I got through the gate before it closed at 9. Chris was on his laptop, but he got off and cued up Enterprise for me. I took my evening supplements and made kava tea. I also heated my rice-filled sock to put around my neck. I hoped the adjustments were still holding.
We watched two episodes. Then Chris made his sandwich and went to bed. I stayed up to blog and drink the tea. I wrote what I could remember from the doctor appointment, but am afraid I left a few things out that will only occur to me when I am lying in bed trying to sleep. I think my vision has improved. Last night I could not type with these blue-blocking glasses on, but tonight it is no problem.

Hello Enterprise

I got up before 7:30. I very gently brushed my teeth. Then I got some coconut oil to swish. My gums felt better but now there were two white spots. I worked on the orphan block quilt for 45 minutes. Then I turned on the router and started e-mail. I took some vitamin C and drank almost a quart of water. Then I swished with salt water. After that, I put a turmeric ice cube in my mouth to cool the gum. Then I drank some hot tea.
At 9:45, I headed to quilting. There was free fabric on the main table. I helped myself to a few pieces of red. Beverly's table was full, but I pulled up a chair and participated in the conversation. After awhile, the ladies started leaving. When it was just her and me left, I pulled out the two fat bombs that I brought and we each ate one. She was a fan.
Then we got in her car and went to the Asian store for kimbap. After that, we parked downtown and walked over 2 miles. We enjoyed seeing the tulips and pansies and dogwoods in bloom. But it did not rain until after we got back to her car. She took me back to my car and I went home. I ate the kimbap with kimchi, then realized I was eating on both sides of my mouth. The infection must be much better. I listened to audios from the Oral Health summit:
Gum disease is communicable, from family and pets. Do not have your teeth cleaned until you know you are infection-free. Dentist should do the check-up first and look at a swab under the microscope before the hygienist cleans. A problem could be fungal, bacterial, or parasitic.
I 'chatted' with a rep on the mower parts website. She said we could take the battery to get it tested, but that it was probably the battery charger. Chris came home from work. He had one piece of mail for me. I took some quilt blocks, a quilt top, and the battery out to the car for later. I listened to an audio on the dangers of wearing a bra. The speaker said there was no funding to do proper studies on not wearing bras, but Chris said if they put out a Go Fund Me request, that every male on the planet would contribute. Then I put on my coat and headed out.
I planned to stop at the auto store the Chris said was by the parkway to get the battery tested. But as I drove to the MQG meeting, there was no auto store by the parkway. So I got to the meeting early. Since I usually get there late and there is no place to sit, I considered it a good thing. However, it was a small turnout tonight. We went through the usual 'sew and tell' and announcements, etc. Then the president did a slide show on bullet journaling. Apparently its a thing now. After the meeting, I paid dues to the vice president since the treasurer resigned due to health problems.
Then I headed home, intending to stop by a different store that might test batteries. But they were closed. So I was home before 8. I told Chris there was no store. He looked it up and said it was on Bob Wallace, not on University. I made a mental note to stop by tomorrow since it will be in the vicinity of the doctor.
We decided to watch Lucifer from the Fox website. And it looked promising, but 5 minutes in, it shut down and said we had to sign in with a TV provider. So instead, we cued up the first episode of the first season of Enterprise. I took a sip of salt water and essential oil water and swished while we watched. I also did head and neck lymph massages. Chris nearly fell asleep. So he went to bed (without making a sandwich!) and I stayed up to blog.

It's tooth-hurty

Because the sky was overcast this morning, I did not realize how late it was. I got up at 8:30. I was going to sew one seam before turning on the router, but I got caught up and spent closer to an hour sewing seams and creating the center of the orphan block quilt.
I listened to audios while I looked up how to treat infected teeth. My tooth did not hurt, but the gum above it did, and the pain was running in an upward streak toward my cheek. I was quite worried. I called the doctor that Jennifer had recommended and made an appointment, but he couldn't see me until Wednesday. I called the holistic dentist in Tn. The receptionist answered my questions and it seemed my choices were still the same as locally, plus they are two hours away. I put clove oil on a swab and stuck it in my cheek for awhile. I swished with coconut oil. I took multiple packets of lyphosperic vitamin C. I did some lymph-moving exercises. I felt around under my jaw bone and located some points that were not entirely comfortable. I ate a fat bomb. I swished with essential oils mixed in water. I used colloidal silver I tapped for the pain and the worry. I thought if the tooth did not hurt, then it was probably dead and needed to come out.
Finally, I went to quilting. I stopped on the way to fill my tank with gas. When I got to the church, only a few ladies were there. I did not bring my machine because I figured they would council me to go directly to the dentist. However, the consensus was that I should see a GP first in case it was a sinus infection. Bertha helped me call my dentist and that receptionist urged me to see an endodontist. She spoke of root canals in glowing terms. Their office was closing at 2 due to impending inclement weather so she could not fit me in today anyway. My quilting posse was of the opinion that I was in ok shape to wait until I saw the doctor on Wednesday. I wasn't so sure.
Chris called to say he had arrived home from St. Louis and wanted to go grocery shopping. So I said goodbye to the ladies and drove home. He was eating a sandwich, but when he finished, we went to Publix for our weekly groceries. I explained about the pain in my gums. He thought if the tooth was dead and infected that my palate would hurt as well. It didn't, of course. So I continued on with the swishing, the clove swab, etc. I took a gelcap of essential oils for allergies. After a good long salt swish, I started brushing my teeth, then stopped to examine my gum. There was a white spot and a streak of red like a strip of skin was missing. Chris thought nothing of it, but I wondered if it meant progress in the right direction, or the wrong one. I put a clove swab in my mouth again while I read e-mail and checked the house mail. There was a package of supplements and a check from Neilsen.
Chris cooked turkey burgers for me. I ate one and meditated while he made his supper. We tried to watch Lucifer on TV, but the local station was playing weather alerts instead. I went to the FOX website to watch it, but they only let me watch 5 minutes and most of that was commercials. So we went to Netflix and watched 4 episodes of Voyager. Sadly, it was the last four. I feel like we are saying goodbye to a group of old friends.
Chris made his sandwich and went to bed. I took my evening supplements and drank kava tea. Then I swished with salt water while I typed up my blog.
* Did I mention that my laptop went through a bunch of updates today and now cropping a mere picture is more effort than I am used to. *

Sign of spring

I did not want to get up early, but sleep was no longer an option. It was around 7. I swished while contemplating my next sewing move. I took apart another orphan block and resewed it. It was still an inch too small. I looked for more of the blue paisley but only found rectangles.
I turned on the router and drank water while reading e-mail. Then I quit to take a shower and get dressed for church. My back was still a little sore, so I wore flats instead of my usual heels. My thighs were still burning from the Friday workout, but there was nothing I could do about that.
I listened to a few more minutes of an interview, but had to pause it just as she talked about healing an abscess. I grabbed my purse and headed out. When I got to the traffic light, I realized I did not have my choir folder so I had to turn around and go back.
I was watching the 'miles left' screen on my car as I drove. It started at 63 and ended at 59 when I got to church. Church is more than 4 miles from my home so... I dunno.
I dropped off a bag of combs and washcloths for the outreach program. Then I warmed-up with the choir. Then I got a bulletin and filled out the time and talent survey while waiting for the service to begin. Ron gave a temple talk about the time and talent surveys. Then the service was underway.
After the service, I gave Julie a gift card to buy books for schools in Houston. Then I found Jennifer to ask what she thought of the fat bomb I gave her. She loved it and wanted the recipe. Since I just threw in what I had left, I could not give it to her. We talked so long that everyone left. She promised to send me an article her son wrote about edible plants in the back yard.
I went straight home. I found a package sitting in front of the door. It was painful to reach down and pick it up, but it wasn't heavy. It was a pair of blue-blocking glasses. I ate two fat bombs and changed my clothes. I tried to finish the interview from earlier, but the software was all messed up. Finally I gave up on it, rebooted the laptop, and re-opened the window. But that interview was gone, replaced by the next round.
I made and ate breakfast and a papaya. I kinda chewed on the seeds a little and left the slurry on the teeth I suspected of being infected. When I spit it out later, my teeth felt pretty clean.
I went for a walk, and gathered some fresh pine needles. I washed them and put them in a mug. Then I sat outside and read a book while nestling my barefeet in the grass. After almost an hour, I came in and made a big salad and heated a bowl of onion soup. I listened to one more interview. I made up a batch of spice mix to go with breakfasts.
I put clove oil on a swab and stuck it beside the teeth. It burned my lip, but made mu gum feel numb. I took another packet of vitamin C. I watched two episodes of The 4400 while sitting with a heating pad and wearing the blue-blocking glasses. I tried to use the TV, but the video did not work, again. When the show was over, I closed the doors and turned on the heat. I wrote up my blog post for today. Chris called to say he was leaving first thing in the morning and would be here by early afternoon. I hoped the weather was hospitable. Michele was there, too. We did not talk long. When I finished posting to my blog, I went to bed.

Spring is in the air

I got up just after 9. I reassembled the orphan block I had taken apart. Then I swished, and drank a quart of water. I listened to interviews from the Oral Health Summit and read e-mail. I ate two fat bombs, then made and ate breakfast. I wrote a check to the church for an Easter lily and put it in an envelop for tomorrow. I put some of the conifer oil on the itchy spot above my ear. I also put some on the end of a toothpick and traced my gum line with it. I was going to go to a quilting event since today is National Quilting Day, but did not feel up to carrying my machine.
I found more audios to listen to and a video on stippling. I got dressed and went for a walk around the neighborhood. It was such a warm day that I wore shorts. Then I opened all the doors and sat outside with my bare feet in the grass and read a few chapters of my quilting novel. When I came in, I made some pine needle tea.
I put the battery in the mower and tried to run it, but it wouldn't run right. I tried turning the blade around in case it was on wrong, but it did not improve. I decided the battery wasn't charging since the little light would not come on. In case the problem was with the charger, I looked for other cords that might have the same plugin, but none of them fit.
I spent the afternoon working on the MQG challenge. They gave me six orphan blocks and I made two more out of scraps and leftovers. Then I looked at ways of putting them together. 8 unmatched blocks is a bit of a challenge.
It got dark and I got hungry. I moved the pot of onion soup to the floor in front of the fridge. I spooned out a bowlful and put it in the toaster oven. Then I put the pot back in the fridge. I thought about doing laundry, but knew Chris would come home with more on Monday.
I decided to watch episodes of The 4400 on the TV. I cued up Netflix on my laptop and plugged it into the TV. It seemed to work up until the point where the episode started. Then Firefox gave me an undetermined error. I tried several times with no luck. So I tried Edge. It played, but the video did not show on the TV screen. I called Chris. He suggested IE. But the result was the same. So I watched in on the laptop screen, listening to the TV speakers. I snacked on some dates and rested my back on a heating pad. When the second episode was over, I closed the house doors and locked them. Then I sat down to write my blog.

A Wrinkle in Time

Chris got up at 5:30 and left at 6:30 for Saint Louis, to attend a gaming convention with Michele. I got up at 7:45. I took an orphan block from the MQG apart and cut triangles from the corners so I could re-do the block. It had more problems than I thought. I turned on the router. My laptop was already on for some reason. A pop-up told me to contact Microsoft because my computer could not install important updates. I tried to resolve the problem. I can download updates, but they won't install.
I read e-mail. I learned that avocados have more potassium than bananas per volume. Since they have less sugar, I think I'll switch. I also learned that silver hydrosol is good for getting rid of bacteria in the mouth. He also recommended an oral irrigator device for gum pockets.
While listening, I made a batch of seed crackers. I also made and ate breakfast. I was still listening when I realized it was 11:59. I jumped up and threw on some clothes. Then I grabbed my purse and a wrap. I drove to the movie theater where Leanne was waiting for me. We went inside and bought tickets at the snack counter. I swear she and I were both told it was $12.50, but we were charged $7 something, plus tax. Anyway, we found the right room and went inside, where we got seats that were the perfect distance from the screen. Somehow the conversation turned to blood sugar and she offered to test mine. She had her glucometer with her. So, ok. But I was surprised when it came out to 121. She said that was good, but the ER didn't think so when I tested at 103 that morning.
After innumerable ads, and coming attractions, the movie “A Wrinkle in Time” started. If I read the book, it was so long ago that I just don't remember. The name Charles Wallace seemed familiar but the rest of it did not. I wondered how much of it was in the book and how much was added by Hollywood. It was interesting, but required just a little more willing suspension of disbelief than I could muster.
From the theater, I went to the fish market for a piece of wild salmon. I asked the owner if it was from Alaska. The question seemed to upset her. She wanted to know why I would ask her that. She said everybody knows it is so she doesn't need to put it on the sign. I paid for it and headed home. But on the way, I remembered that Chris was gone, so it was up to me to check the post office box. I found a few pieces of mail and a two small packages. When I got home, I wrapped the fish in newspaper and put it in the freezer. I ate some seed cracker and the rest of the previous fish.
Then I dressed in yoga pants and a black and white top. I pulled my yoga mat from the closet and put it in a blue handbag along with a towel. I walked to the Housing center for a pound and stretch class. I met a lady in the parking lot and we went in together. I had heard the class was full, but there were only six of us.
We spread our mats on the floor. The instructor gave us each a pair of green drum sticks. Then she showed us a few drumming moves and turned on the music. It was an aerobic workout and heavy on the thighs. I decided that I did not want to be sore tomorrow so I took it easy. After 45 minutes of the pound routine, another lady took over for a yoga/pilates workout. It was like yoga to sultry nightclub music. It was also hard on the thighs. My back wasn't happy either. I gave up on keeping up, but the pain only got worse. I tried to hide it. But when the music stopped, I could not get up. The instructors lifted me up and took me to a settee. The pilates lady went back to the class while the other one talked to me, offering to call my husband, and then to drive me home. One of the men gave me his cell phone number so I could call if I needed help tomorrow. When the class was over, the lady I had met in the parking lot walked home with me. We shared some stories and I offered to teach her daughter to sew.
When she had gone, I went inside. I checked e-mail. I wanted to have a bowl of onion soup but the pot was too heavy for me to take out of the fridge, so I made a big salad instead, and then had some cheese. Then I sat on the couch with my heating pad and flipped through the TV channels, getting glimpses of old shows like Murphy Brown, Andy Griffith, CSI, etc. Chris and Michele called around 9:30. We talked for a bit, then they hung up. I read synopses of A Wrinkle in Time. They sounded like the movie Then I wrote up my blog and did a meditation to put me in the mood to sleep.

Labeling books

I got up at 9:40. I was frustrated at how late it was. I sewed patches, then fired up the router and the desktop. I downloaded a label template, then started typing in book information. But I could not remember how I had done it last time. So I called Pat and she said all it needed was the author and title. Well, the label was larger than needed for that. There was another sheet of smaller labels in the bag with the books. I searched for a template to fit them and downloaded that. Then I typed in the info, printed it on the labels, and attached it to the books. Then I pulled up the book sheet and tried to modify it to include the latest additions. The table needed more rows and it was not simple to get the software to do that. I don't know why. Anyway, I persisted and eventually it did what I wanted. I printed it out and added that to the bookbag.
I listened to an audio from the Oral Health Summit. It was about mercury poisoning from fillings. It was so technical that I did not get much out of it. I wrote a check to the radiology people and put it in the mail. I ate a fat bomb and then breakfast.
I headed out to quilting. But driving through the gate, I realized I had forgotten Pat's books. So I turned left, went in gate 10 and back home. I picked up the bookbag, lying just where I left it, and resumed my trip. Instead of going straight there, I stopped at the bank to cash the check for the books. I also got a new password for the ATM.
When I finally got to quilting, it was almost 1. Pat had just left to pick up lunch. I showed Leanne the quilt tops I had made from the squares the group had given me. When Pat got back, I gave her the books. She was happy with the labels. We all discussed the upcoming Quilting Day at Epworth on Saturday. Then I worked on my teacup until 2. Leanne worked on a bag for a family member. She put a lot of work into it. She also invited me to see A Wrinkle in Time with her tomorrow. Christy had to leave so we all packed up. I went home.
It was sunny so I went for a walk. It was almost 45 minutes long. I was surprised to return and not see Chris. It was so nice outside that I sat on a bench with my bare feet in the grass. I read a few chapters of a quilting novel while getting grounded.
I ate some fish and a banana. I started the second meditation from the MeditationFest. I paused it when Chris came home from work. We chatted, then I resumed it. I was so relaxed after the meditation that I laid down and took a nap. When I got up, it was almost 7. There was no time to make a salad for supper. So I grabbed a piece of cheese and sat in front of my laptop. In a few minutes, my tapping buddy called.
I spent almost two hours with her. It went well and I promised to tap for one of her issues surrogately. I took my evening supplements. Then Chris and I watched two episodes of Voyager. Chris packed for his trip and went to bed.
* Her bag is going to be beautiful. *

a Fat bomb for Pi day

I got up at 7:45. I sewed patches together, then turned on the router. I woke up my laptop and got a quart of filtered water. I swished, then took some niacin. I read e-mail until it kicked in. Then I did my exercises. I made coffee. I meditated and tapped. It was convenient that there is a MeditationFest this week. But the swami had a voice that was hard to make out.
Then I cleaned the bathrooms and kitchen while listening to interviews from the dental summit. I swept the floors, and then mopped until the mop broke. The head came off of the end. I tried to put it back on and clamp it with a wrench, but the metal would not hold its shape anymore.
One of the interviewees said that it is possible to have an abscessed tooth that doesn't hurt. It would only show up on 3-D x-rays. Such an infection could cause heart problems. Hmm. I put a slice of garlic on a tooth that might be cracked. But it burned my cheek. So then I swished with clove and peppermint oil in water to kill any bacteria in my mouth. I seemed to feel better.
Myra had sent me her new number on Facebook, so I called her to catch up. We talked for some time, but then her husband came home and they had to go somewhere.
I made up my evening supplements for 8 days. None of them seemed to be running out. So I finished my Swanson's order and submitted it. I also made one with Amazon. I listened to some old songs and did a little paida. Then I took a shower. Chris came home just as I got out. I dressed for a walk while we talked. He said he'll find out Monday if he has an interview next Friday. Then I went for a walk. I picked some fresh pine needles. When I got back, I ate some fish and made a large salad, with garlic.
I finished the meal with a banana and cinnamon. Then I got dressed for choir. I listened to part of an audio while I looked up label templates. When the time came, I left for church. There was an evening service first, with a member of the congregation playing the role of Caiaphas. Then we had choir practice. I gave Jennifer one of my fat bombs. We sang through all the songs. The last one was difficult and there isn't much time before Easter to get it right.
The chest pains came back. I meant to try imbibing some baking soda in water when I got home to see if it was GERD. But when I arrived, my water glass was full of ACV water, so I drank that. I also put a kava tea bag in water for later. We watched one episode of Voyager and one of F-Troop. Then Chris made his sandwich and went to bed. I took my evening supplements, drank the kava tea, blogged and joined him.

Needle little tea?

I got up at 7:45. I drank some of my quart of water, then I swished while sewing patches together. I examined the modem/router to see if there was a way to turn off the 5g part. I did not see any controls. I turned it on and woke up my laptop. I watched episode 10 and checked e-mail. I washed some pine needles and placed them in a nug. I poured hot water over them and let them steep. Then I took out the needles and drank the tea. It wasn't bad, much better than just chewing on the needles.
I also had time to make fat bombs. I melted coconut butter, coconut oil and butter on the stove. I added ground cacao and cinnamon. I poured it into little cups in a mini muffin container. It did not all fit. I left the remainder in the pan.
I got dressed, and went to sewing. I sat between Jane and Robin. We chatted as I worked on my rug . I also talked to a retired biology teacher whose name escapes me now. As the ladies left, I realized Beverly was not coming. So I called her. She was sick. We talked for awhile, then I went to the Asian store for kimbap and brought it home.
The fat bombs were not quite solid yet so I put them in the fridge. I pulled out the kimchi and ate it with the kimbap. Beverly texted me a pic but my phone would not display it. So I called my phone company to ask why. The young man suggested I turn my phone off and back on. He reset something, then started to make another suggestion, but we were cut off. I powered down my phone and turned it back on. Then I had no trouble seeing the picture.
I ate a fat bomb, and decided it was better cold. I took the cold bombs from the tray and put new papers in. I heated up the remaining fat bomb mixture and poured it into the mini-muffin tin and placed it in the fridge. I ate some fish.
I called the insurance company and was put on hold. I went looking for a spare blade for the lawn mower, but all I found was a file and a wrench. While I waited for them to call me back, I started assembling 12 days worth of supplements. Beverly called to say she'd been to the doctor and gotten some medicine. I was glad she was feeling better. Before I finished the supplements, the insurance called back. I asked my questions and got some answers. Then I finished and listened to an audio. Chris came home from work with two packages. I unpacked each one and put the packages away. One had freeze-dried bananas. I ate a few. I paused the interview and went outside to take off the blade and run the file over it. The blade edge was in bad shape. I filed for some time, then returned it to the mower. I mowed part of the lawn, but the effect was only slight. I wondered if I had put the blade on backward. Also, the motor wasn't very loud and so the battery might need charging. It had been charged recently, so I plugged it into a different outlet. I resumed the interview. While it played, I opened a packet of miswak stick. I bit the tender bark off of the end and crushed the inside with my teeth until it became like bristles. I 'brushed' my teeth, thinking it wasn't suited to all the surfaces. I looked it up online but did not see where I was doing it incorrectly.
Chris called Michele to ask a question so I got to talk to her for a little bit. I did not realize they were going to a convention this weekend.
I went to the Swanson's website to reorder the supplements that were running low. I filled the cart, then changed my clothes. I drove to church for a stewardship meeting. It seemed to be the same old story – the amount given is less than the budget or the anticipated giving. We discussed passing out time and talent sheets to the congregation. I offered to collate the results and send them to the appropriate committee heads.
We wrapped up at 8. I went home to find Chris watching a movie on his laptop. I warmed my cold hands on his arms. Then we watched two episodes of Voyager. Chris made his sandwich and invited me to bed. I stayed up to write to my blog, wondering if he would still be awake.

Pine needles are high in vitamin C, but...

I got up at 7:45. I pressed the quilt top and the backing. I cut the fold. Then I turned on the router and my laptop. As I drank a quart of water, I listened to an interview on the dangers of EMF. I heard him say that wi-fi affects erythrocytes, and affects the pacemaker cells in sinoatrial nodes, causing tachycardia and arrhythmia. That would explain my condition.
The next interview I heard was from the Oral Health Summit. The dentist was talking about all the cases of root-canaled teeth which he replaced with ceramic implants and the patient's health improved within 24 hours. Arrhythmias went away, migraines cleared, depression lifted, etc. He had a chart called The Common Electrical Pathway. He could tell which tooth was root-canaled by the part of the body affected. I was glad not to have any root canals.
The third interview was on recovering from sleep deprivation. The only note I wrote down was to exercise first thing in the morning.
While the interviews played, I made liquid starch and my breakfast. I put on my spoon to protect my wrist. I got dressed for quilting. I gathered up two quilt tops and my red project. Then I headed out.
I arrived about 12:35. I showed Rebecca the quilt top I made from her remnants and asked if she would like it back. She accepted it. I gave her the backing I made from the leftover fabric. Bertha asked if I would make her a quilt top if she gave me the fabric.
I gave the colorful nine-patch to Dinah for the retirement home. I returned Rebecca's bag and she gave me the scraps from the project she was working on. Then I chatted with the other ladies while I worked on red project and drank coconut water.
At 3:30 I packed up and went home. I arrived a minute before Chris did. I checked the mail and found a letter from the insurance company denying my claim for what I assume was the stress test. You'd need an advanced degree in medicine to decipher it. And a bill from Radiology. I ate an egg and some pickled cauliflower. Then I went for a walk, looking for daffodils and came back with a bag of fresh young pine needles.
Chris cooked some salmon for me. I ate a banana until it was ready. My Dad called, looking for advice on buying coconut oil. I ate a piece of the fish, then made a large salad. I finished it in front of the TV, watching Lucifer with Chris. Then we watched two episodes of Voyager. He made his sandwich and went to bed, reading. I stayed up to take my evening supplements, blog and chew on some pine needles. They may be high in vitamin C, but they are not tasty. And oh yes, the recyclables for tomorrow.

@#$% time change

Alarm went off at 7. I had to keep mentally prodding my self to get up, and that happened at 7:30. I took a shower and got dressed for church. I turned on the router and sewed two pieces of fabric to make a backing. I checked e-mail for a few minutes and drank some water. Then I grabbed my purse and a bag with a pair of flats inside and went to my car. I drove to church.
I went inside and saw everyone lining up. But I had forgotten my music so I ran back to get it, then took my place at the end of the row of women. We sang through the piece, which was just a hymn, several times so the basses could get their part. When practice was over, Jennifer told me how much she was enjoying the videos from the tapping summit and the fat summit. Cecelia gave me some new fingering charts for flute.
I ran to the restroom to comb my hair, which was still damp. Then I got a bulletin and took my seat. There were a few talks before the sermon from the property committee and the worship committee. Then the service commenced. During the sermon, the pastor said that the answer to the question “When were you saved?” is “ 2000 years ago on a hill near Jerusalem, but I only found out about it a few years ago.”
After the service, I told Susan that I could help set up the altar before church, but she said they do all of that on Saturday. I wondered if the ushers had anything I could be doing between the choir warm-up and the start of the service. Then I went to talk to Jennifer to see how she was doing after yesterday. The conversation turned to the interviews and we conversed long after most people had gone home.
Then I sat in my car and called Chris to meet me at the grocery store. I headed over there and parked. I got a cart and started shopping. He arrived soon after, and brought the list. We shopped. We paid. I went home and changed clothes. He arrived with the groceries.
I peeled the garlic for onion soup. He said the strawberries were going bad, so I washed and ate them with cinnamon. Then I made up some new batches of mix for my breakfasts. I had to do the math to get the mixtures right. That took a lot longer than it should have and my chest hurt. But after I ate my breakfast, I felt much better. I read about conifer oil. Very expensive.
I went for a walk, looking for daffodils in forested spaces. I found young pine trees and wondered what part was responsible for the oil. When I got home, the onion soup was ready. I ate a bowl with cheese on top. I looked up pine. You can chew the needles which are very high in vitamin C. Some species are poisonous.
I ate some kimchi, pickled cauliflower, and a banana. I was listening to an audio on the dangers of EMF. I paused it at 8. We watched two episodes of Voyager. Chris went to bed and I stayed up to write (and order some conifer oil).

All it took was heat

I woke up with a hot flash and went to the bathroom. After that, my nose got stuffy and I could not go back to sleep. Chris got up at 6:30 to take a shower and then drive his car to the dealership to get the oil changed and the tires filled. I got up at 7. I worked on the quilt top from yesterday, auditioning pieces and then sewing them on. I left the backing for tomorrow. I turned on the router and my laptop. But I had forgotten that I left my laptop on so it could update during the night. However, it did not, probably because the router was off. So I let it download updates while I typed these notes to my blog. I thought it would update automatically, but I had to do it manually.
The Skinny on Fat was having a replay weekend. I had heard all the episodes, so I went on to other audios and did lajin. But I had e-mailed the link to Jennifer who hadn't heard them all. She responded asking which ones I recommended. So I went back through my notes and cross-referenced them with the episodes and gave her a list of what I found most interesting. When I did that, I noticed that there were bonus interviews at the end of every episode IF you scrolled down. So I spent the afternoon listening to those. Here are my notes:

The brain surgeon recommends a ketogenic diet for better brain function. It is better than chemo for brain tumors. Blood lipid profile gets better on a high fat diet. A study of 40 diets picked Adkins as the best. High fat/ low carb diet can heal pancreatic cells, which is good news for diabetics.
MTOR is one of the nutrient signaling pathways. Ketogenic fats are best: coconut oil is less ketogenic than mct oil. The doctor takes C8 oil. It is especially good for alzheimers and mild cognitive impairment.
Ancient peoples rubbed conifer oils on their skin and ate them. The oils contain skiadonic acid, which is anti-inflammatory.
You can't have degenerative processes in your spine that haven't already started in your central nervous system. The most important thing about walking is to set your gaze and walk towards it. Walking is the ultimate activity for human beings, better than running. If your head-on-spine relationship is not good, you are going work your whole body in a slightly off way, and over time it will deteriorate you. No animal sleeps on its back. Sleeping on your back promotes mouth breathing which is bad in a number of ways. When we don't move, our dormant genes express themselves and we get chronic diseases. Subcutaneous fat is only mobilized with adrenaline. That requires high intensity exercise.

Chris did taxes and then the laundry. I made and ate breakfast. I rebooted my computer to install the updates. As I listened to the bonus interviews, I stretched every half hour or so. My right leg got very achy. I tried stretching it in a number of ways but that did not help. I tried massaging it with my elbow, and poking it with a pin, all to no avail. Chris got a skype call for a political survey. I was glad he answered because he had better responses than I would have. Then Jennifer called. She'd been in a hit-and-run. She talked and I tapped for her until she got a call from her insurance agent.
I was having heart problems so I ate a banana with hummus and then a little cinnamon. It felt like my heart was skipping a beat every 10 to 15 minutes.
The rain had stopped, so I went for a walk, hoping to ease the ache in my leg. I picked some wild lettuce along the way, and ate some wild violets I found just beyond. When I got home, I picked dandelion in the back yard. I threw the greens in a bowl of water to soak. I put a bag of frozen peas on my leg while I listened to more bonus interviews. The cold did not help. When I finished the interviews, I sat on the bed in the guest room with a heating pad under my legs and another one on top. I read a chapter of a quilting novel. When I got up at 8, my leg was all better. I rinsed the greens and drizzled oil and vinegar on them. I ate while we watched three episodes of Voyager. Then we discussed what time to set the alarm and decided on 7, which is the new 8. I took my evening supplements and typed up my blog post for the day. Then I went to bed, hoping to get a good night's sleep so I wouldn't mind getting up an hour early.
* A bit too bright, yes? *

Food, glorious food!

I got up at 7, glad to be up early since the time changes this week. I sewed two patches together and then turned on the router. While reading e-mail, I drank a quart of water with vinegar and sea salt added. My wrist was hurting again, so I put the spoon on. The stretchy tape wasn't holding any more so I had to pin it. I did lajin during the second audio. During another, I went through the bag of fabric that Rebecca had given me. She wants her bag back so I have to empty it. I pulled out a few larger pieces to audition as background for the banner. One was so-so. In the bottom of the bag I found a bobbin donut. The one I have is full so it is nice to have another. There was also a wrist band with magnets to hold pins. I used it to replace the stretchy tape holding the spoon.
I pulled out pieces to make a stained glass quilt that might become a background for the banner. Among the pieces were a set of coordinated fabrics plus partial pieces of a quilt top in progress. I separated them from the rest and spread them out so I could asses how far along it was. Four rows were already sewn together and many more pieces were cut, but they weren't quite the same size as the rows. Perhaps she had given up on it for that reason. I concocted a plan to make up the difference.
I was hoping to go for a walk since it was sunny, but I was waiting for the maintenance people to make their rounds. I cued up a another audio and kept working. I was sorry that the Skinny on Fat summit was over.
It was after three when two men showed up. One checked the water heater and the other changed the furnace filter. I pointed out the mildew on the ceiling of the bathroom and the disturbance on the ceiling of the diningroom. They assured me that the diningroom issue was purely cosmetic and not the result of water damage. They promised to come back and clean the mildew.
I returned to work on the project, finding ways to add the leftovers to the final project. The men returned with paper towels and a spray bottle. I kept sewing while they did their thing. Sometime after they left, Chris came home. He thought he smelled paint. I checked the ceiling and it did look like they might have painted it.
Pat called to see if she could come by with a check for the books she picked up yesterday. I agreed, and soon she was ringing my doorbell. She gave me the check, and an envelop of labels so I could print out labels for the books.
I tried to mow, but it just wasn't cutting. So I picked some dandelion. I hadn't eaten yet because I couldn't decide what to eat. But the dandelion looked good. I washed it and covered it in olive oil and spices. I also ate some ghee and went back to reading e-mail. Faye called to tell me that Ben Fox had died. I had not seen him in years. She also told me that Donna had moved. We discussed Dad's situation as well. After she hung up, I passed the info on to Kurt.
I didn't have much time left before my skype call, but I was able to eat an egg, some kimchi and seed crackers. I wanted to inhale everything in the fridge. I moved my laptop to the guest room for privacy. When she was ready, we talked about the tapping summit for a bit. Then we tapped on my anxieties from the day I went to the ER.
After we concluded the call, I told Chris I was ready to watch TV. We watched two episodes of Voyager. We could have seen a third, but I thought we needed to practice going to bed early. Then I took off the spoon so I could type my blog. Chris went to bed and I put my nightgown on the couch so I wouldn't have to wake him up when I came to bed.

Too many summits

Last night Chris helped me get undressed for bed. Because of the spoon on my wrist, it was easier for him than for me. As I laid in bed, I rewrapped the spoon, more loosely each time. Finally I just took it off and eventually fell asleep.
I got up about 8:30. I sewed a strip to the second block and pinned the other half on. Then I turned on the router and started drinking a quart of water. I listened to the two interviews from the tapping summit. I tapped and did lajin. I went outside to enjoy some sunlight. Then I listened to episode 9 of The Skinny on Fat. I made a mug of hot bone broth, and took some notes:
The three things that heal most patients are reducing inflammation, healing the gut, and becoming a fat burner. You burn visceral fat off through fasting. The doctor recommends bone broth and collagen. Her eating window is from noon to 7. Her favorite fat is avocado oil because it builds collagen in the skin. Fat bombs stabilize blood sugar: favorite oil, almond butter, peanut butter, etc. Berries are best the fruit, esp blueberries.
The number of times your blood sugar rises per day affects chronic disease risk factors and inflammation. Lowering that number is one of the best things you can do for general health and fat loss. Limit glycemic variability. Drinking lemon water with a little ACV in it before a meal helps to lower the blood glucose response. Add cinnamon to food. 2 minutes of strength training before you eat also helps, as well as going for a 15 minute walk after eating. Lutein is good for the blue light damaging effects on the retina. Cold showers change white fat to brown fat. Soaking in a cold pool has many benefits. Heat shock proteins (like from a dry sauna) confer protective benefits as well. Constantly move throughout the day. Staying in one position, be it sitting or standing, is not good.
Pat called to ask if she could come by to pick up the quilt books I had ordered for the guild. I printed an invoice and figured the tax. Amazon did not used to charge tax. Pat came by later and picked them up. I listened to more of the episode, then paused it. I put my machine in the car, wrapped a spoon to my wrist, and went to sewing.
When I got there, I gave Leanne's fabric back to her. I set up my machine and sewed on side I had pinned. Then I realized I had forgotten my bag of scissors, rotary cutter, pins, etc. But the sewing group had a set of supplies in the back, so I borrowed the cutter. I went on to finish the blocks. I promised Christy a pic of the little sewing machine I had seen at the thrift shop.
I packed up and went home. I finished the episode, then went for a run/walk to raise my metabolism. Sadly I did not lose any weight. When I got back, I looked up blood test abbreviations to fill in the gaps while listening to more of The Skinny on Fat. Chris came home from work. I played the bonus episode of the tapping summit. He made his supper. I tapped and played Solitaire. My tapping buddy texted me on Facebook to see if we were meeting. But since the tapping summit was not over, we decided to postpone.
I tried my banner with several background options. None of them impressed me. I went rummaging through my fabric stash for more options. I tried some of them. Then we watched two episodes of Voyager. I was so cold that even under a blanket with Chris I could not get warm. I remarked to him that not eating had reduced but not eliminated my hot flashes and chest pain.
When the episodes were over, Chris made his sandwich and went to bed. I stayed up to post to my blog, shivering. Then I went to bed as well.

Have spoon, will travel

I got up around 8. I sliced a gray block and sewed a bright strip to one side. Then I turned on the router and woke up my laptop. I plugged in the speakers and played the interviews from last night's tapping summit. While I listened, I drank water, swished, exercised, performed lajin, and tapped. I put background music on for meditation.
When my coffee morning was over, I cleaned the bathrooms and kitchen and swept all the fake wood floors. I scrubbed the tub because Maintenance is supposed to come by on Friday and check filters, and for water damage.
I put on the Skinny on Fat while I cleaned. Here are today's notes:
See bright light first thing in the morning. Watch the sunset. The colors program your brain for sleep. Fasting triggers autophagy which means it only feeds the healthiest cells and it breaks down all the other ones to use as fuel. But you have to fast for 4 days to start getting that benefit. Some microbes only proliferate at night, they make neurotransmitters but only if the melatonin is right. Women are more prone to circadian rhythm dysfunction than men
Get 15 minutes of sunlight every morning for better sleep. Cancer cells multiply twice as fast when you are sleep-deprived. Avoid sitting disease by moving every 20 minutes. Fidgeting more helps. Walking is good and it doesn't matter if it is 30 minutes all at once, or 10 minutes three times a day. 10 minutes is the minimum and 30 minutes is the high point of return for effort.

I did not make breakfast. I decided that eating is not helping so I am going to try not eating for awhile. Whenever I get hungry, I will tap.
I surfed the internet looking for fabric to match the water pattern fabric I found in my stash. I wanted to replace it if I used it for the background of the banner. But as it turned out, it was too bright anyway. But I had seen sandy footprint fabric online that might just work.
I went for a walk/run. Each run was about a minute. When I got back, I checked the mail and found a St. Patrick's Day card from Mary Ann. I saw where the yard people had mown and the debris had sprayed all over my car. Good thing I hadn't washed it. Next Wednesday the housing people are washing residents cars for free.
I read e-mail. I made a cup of bone broth. I listened to yesterday's tapping meditation. Chris came home during the meditation. My left wrist started hurting. I tapped, of course, then tried a bag of frozen peas. I also tried massage. I took a shower and got dressed for choir. I looked for something to immobilize my wrist. Chris suggested a wooden spoon, so I wrapped it on with a stretch bandage. I went through my fabric collection looking for sandy footprint fabric. No luck, but I pulled a few other possibilities. I took them to the cutting table. I prepared the circles to be moved. Chris offered me a bite of the veggies that he just roasted. I told him I was on a fast. Then I went back to my laptop to look at church fabrics online. I sent Jennifer a text to explain that I wasn't coming to the service, but I would attend choir practice.
When the time came, I left for the church. It hurt to drive because the spoon was in the way and my right hand was getting tired of doing all the work. I arrived before the service let out. I sat in my car awhile, then went inside and used the restroom. I sat in the lobby while they finished the last hymn. Then I went in. I spoke to Don, and then joined the assembling choir. Susan complimented my spoon. She suggested I wear it to bed as well. We sang through our songs and it got late. So I had to run when Jennifer called time. I drove back to base taking Airport Road so as to see the city lights from the hill.
When I got home, I made a mug of bone broth. Chris told me 24 hour fast wasn't long enough to do much. We watched two episodes of Voyager. Chris made his sandwich and went to bed. I stayed up to blog and then retired.
