Don't touch the peppers

Thursday

It was already 60F when I got up at 8. I brushed and swished. I watered plants, and read e-mail. I made a batch of seed crackers. I went to the garden to reduce the amount of water on the timer, and to pick a few things. A man came along walking his dog and we conversed.

When I got home, I made and ate breakfast while listening to The Highwire. Afterwards, I read articles. Then I noticed a shadow run across my screen. It was a woman walking on my back porch. So I went out to greet her. She and some men were checking out one of the sprinklers. We talked for awhile, then I went inside to get ready for walking.

I drove to the school to meet Diane. We walked over a mile. Arzu joined us for part of it. We were surprised by a car racing down the road. Diane was quick with her camera and got the license plate. Then Arzu said he lived on her street. Diane sent the pic to her husband at the gate. On the way home, I stopped by the library to pick up a book they ordered for me. When I got home, I read more articles. I picked a small red

pepper to dice up for some natto. I got capsacin on my fingers and next thing it was on my nose. Yikes!

Chris came home from work. I sorted through the cleaning stuff in my trunk, and took the extras to the swap shop. Tonja was there with her husband. We chatted, and I found a thing or two, then went home.

I filled out a cleaning contract and an envelop and took it to Jamie. I picked a salad from the tower garden. Pickings are slim because the lettuce has bolted. I read e-mail while eating. Then I posted the sewing class to the community Facebook page. I worked on my blog and made tea.

We watched two episodes of Pickard, courtesy of Netflix. Then we both read online before going to bed. The capsaicin, which had mostly subsided, came back with each hot flash.

Found my solar lantern

Wednesday

I woke up early, having gone to bed early. I tried to go back to sleep, but it didn't work. I got up after Chris left. I was pleasantly surprised to see that it was 60 degrees out already. I checked the tower garden and found a half-eaten pepper. So the sonic stake did not keep the mice out. Sigh. I got the coffee started, then swished and put the tomatoes and potatoes away: one in sunlight to ripen and the other in a paper bag so they won't ripen. Then I did my exercises.

I meditated and tapped. I heard the rain fall, so I went out to roll up my car windows. It stopped soon after that. I cleaned the bathrooms and kitchen. I headed to Saronna's house and stopped abruptly when I spied my solar lantern by the road near the park. I picked it up, hoping for the best, but it looked like someone drove over it.

When I got there, Saronna handed me 6 arrows. It was payment for sewing patches on his uniform. We stood on the stoop and chatted for awhile. Then I went to Michelle's house to get the eggs and basil. She wasn't home so I let myself in and out.

Then I went to the 2nd street house to clean. It was just less than an hour and I went to the school to walk with the ladies. But no ladies showed up. So I stopped by the library to return some DVD's and ask about the next book.

Then I went home. Chris was there, but not for long. I started to clean out my car and he came out the door saying my phone was ringing. So I went in and answered it. A man wanted a quote on cleaning his apartment. But he won't move out until next week. I had to call Jamie and get her to sign for the house on my behalf. I gave him some ammonia to soak his burner bowls in. (I'm gonna have a lot to do when I get back)

When I got home, I cleaned out the stuff in my car then swept it. A great storm blew up and I wondered if Chris was in it. I called MaryAnn, and then Myra called, so I called her back, Chris came home. We watched the first episode of Firefly. Then I posted to my blog. I raised the hood of my car and placed a sonic gopher stake on the engine to deter mice, and went to bed.

The first harvest

Tuesday

I got up soon after my alarm went off. It was 40 outside, so I puttered in the kitchen, changing the water of plants that are rooting, etc. I submitted a Swanson's order because they were having a one day sale. Then I watered plants at home and in the garden. I picked a bunch of potatoes and green tomatoes in case of first frost. I also pulled some beets and radishes.

I went to the MR house. I filled a jug with hot water and poured in the trash can. I scrubbed it with a hard broom and poured it out. Soon the first inspector showed up. I followed him inside. A second inspector came and I talked with her and tried to stay out of her pictures. The first one came downstairs and got out the paperwork to sign. I signed and left.

I went home. I pulled out the smaller beets and radishes and planted them in the big pot out front. Then I went to the 2nd street house to clean. After an hour and 15 minutes, I went home for breakfast. I could see Chris had been there because he left something on my laptop.

After breakfast, I took my trombone to Saronna's house. We worked on When the Saints go Marching In. I brought yet another version and we tried combining it with another one. But it was hard to read. Then I found another set in a clarinet book. That was just interesting. Her husband called to ask what my draw was. So I got the bow out of my car and let her measure the pull. Then she had to walk to the school to collect her kids so I left.

I drove across the street to clean. I had about 20 minutes, then went to the school to meet the ladies. Only Diane was there so we walked together for over a mile, then went home. I was going to get a drink and go cleaning again, but I started listening to podcasts. I also divided up the half gallon of goat milk between the various ferments.

Then it was time to make a salad. I went outside to pick what I could from the tower garden and the yard. Many of the greens have bolted. I put a sonic gopher stake in the tower garden to see if it would hinder the mice. (Maybe I'll put one in my car while we're gone).

Chris came home from work. We talked about what suitcases to pack and what plants to bring in before our trip. I finished the salad and read e-mail. I posted to my blog. I made tea and we watched two episodes of Knight Rider. It made me sleepy so I went to bed.

Last minute sewing

Monday

I got up around 8, it was cold out. I chopped up peels for the garden. I read e-mail, then picked and washed basil for freeze-drying. I went to the 2nd street house and spent 2 hours cleaning.

I went home for breakfast, but Michelle came over to pick pears. So we loaded a ladder in her suv, and went to see the pear tree. First I climbed to pick, and then she did. I ate one, hoping to save the seeds, but there were none! We went to the MR house to get the pan of frozen eggs. She took me home, then went back to her house to freeze-dry the eggs and basil.

I made and ate breakfast. Then I went to the MR house for an hour to finish up and mop my way out. I loaded up the car with cleaning supplies. I took the step mats to Jamie. We talked. Then I got a message from Saronna that her husband needed patches sewn on his uniform for tomorrow. I met the ladies for walking (and talking). One thing we discussed was having Bible study when the chaplain can't make it to the service.

Then I went to Saronna's house to pick up the uniform. I took it home. I had a bite to eat. I put on a podcast and got to work with a seam ripper. I took off the old patches and put on the new ones. Then I let her know it was done. It took about an hour.

At 7 I went over there to deliver it. When he asked how much, I said I wanted arrows, knowing he was an expert on such things. I brought my bow so he could see what kind to make.

After some discussion, I went home. I listened to a podcast. The speaker said that we can't vote our way out of what is happening. Then I worked on my blog and made tea. We watched two episodes of Knight Rider. I got so sleepy that I just went to bed.

No singing today

Sunday

Having gone to bed early, I woke up early, and cold. Chris pulled the covers over me and we snuggled back to sleep. I got up soon after my alarm went of at 7:30. It was 40 outside. I mixed up a batch of egg/flax muffins. I read some e-mail. I got a text that the service was canceled again because of heath issues. So I texted around that we could meet and sing hymns.

I watered the plants at home, then went to the garden to fertilize those and pick some of the green tomatoes that haven't been 'tasted' by pests. When I got home, I tasted a muffin. It was just ok. Chris gave me a coconut oil massage, then took his shower. Afterward, I took my shower. I made and ate breakfast. I took the muffins and my trombone to church. But it was empty (and unlocked).

I played the piano for a bit, then John showed up for the service. Then the chaplain's assistant came. The three of us talked for awhile and no one else came. The assistant left so I talked to John. Two hours later, we wrapped it up and went home.

I read articles until 5, then met Michelle at the gym. We did weights for almost an hour, then went to her house. We passed a family who just noticed the pear tree and was picking all the pears. I wanted to tell them to leave some for me since I am the one who fertilizes it.

I gave Michelle some muffins and chard. She gave me a jar of goat milk and two empty trays. I went home and got some eggs and went to one of my empty houses. I beat up the eggs and poured them in a pan and stuck it in the empty freezer. I also picked up a few cleaning things to use at the other house.

When I got home, I worked on my blog post. I made tea and we watched two episodes of Knight Rider. He made the bed and I worked on e-mail. Then we went to bed.

Too tired to follow the plan

Saturday

I got up at 8, having slept well. I went out to turn off the solar lamp. I still found half-eaten cherry tomatoes, but not sure if they were there yesterday. I read e-mail and articles, unlocked the swap shop and picked up the mail.

I pulled out some stuff to thaw for baking later. Then I made breakfast. I ate as I read articles, etc. I sat outside in the sun, then read some more. I ate some Kugelhopf, which made me lethargic, so I didn't go cleaning and then swimming, which was the plan.

Diane texted to see if I wanted to go walking. I decided to go because I wasn't getting anything else done. After we walked, I took Tonja home, then went to the house on Second street to clean. I clearly didn't bid enough on this house. It is so dark that it's easy to miss how dirty it is. I spent 2hr and 15 min, and wondered if the sticks in the back yard will be a problem come inspection day.

I came home for supper: leftovers and salad. I put the solar lamp on the blink setting and placed it in the tower garden. I worked on my blog and made tea. We watched two episodes of Knight Rider. I dozed off several times during the second one, so then I just went to bed.

Will the solar lamp keep mice away?

Friday

I got up about 8. I got dressed but it was too cold to go outside and water, so I cleaned in the kitchen and washed Tonja's bundt pan. Then I went to the house to clean. I did what I could, but needed Jamie to get the pads off the stairs before I could clean them. She was not feeling well.

Then I went to the garden to water and fertilize. The battery in the timer had stopped working so I went home for a fork and new batteries. I stopped by Tonja's house to drop off her pan, then went to the garden to replace the batteries and get the water going.

As I went home, I passed Revonna pushing a cart of belongings from her house to the one across the street. I unloaded my pickings, then drove over to help her. But she would not accept help. She showed me where the inspection team had failed to note lack of cleaning and improper workmanship.

I went home and started breakfast. Chris came home. I finished breakfast, and went to the new house to clean. It was dirtier than I thought. After 2 hrs, I went home. i put on my swim suit, and went to the pool. I spent an hour swimming, then went home feeling nauseous and lightheaded.

Chris helped me put on dry clothes. I ate supper, and watered plants. i put a solar light in the tower garden to keep mice away. I read articles and listened to a podcast. Then i made tea, and we watched one episode of Knightrider. We talked for a while, then went to bed. I got up later to turn the wi-fi off.

Octoberfest

Thursday

I got up at 8:30, again having had a hard time staying asleep. I pulled the dough out of the fridge and put it in a warm oven to rise. I got ready and watered the plants around the house, then at the garden. I texted Tonja that I was coming over, and then I showed up on her doorstep. She had her bundt pan ready. After a little chatting, I went to the house to clean. I stayed there about an hour, then went home.

I rolled the dough out and put the half the filling on, folded it in, then rolled it out again and put on the other half. I folded it again and put it in the bundt pan. I left it in the oven to rise while I made breakfast and watched The Highwire. Just before 1, I heated the oven and put the bread in to bake, then hurried off to Joe's house to look it over and give him a quote. His wife was there and they had done a good job. I quoted them $120. They seemed to think that was fair. Then I went to Housing to get more cleaning contracts and set up inspection for April's house. By the time I got home, my timer was going off. I took the bread (Kugelhopf) from the oven and rubbed the top with butter, then let it cool.

Then I was off to the school to meet the ladies for walking. It was Diane and Jenni today. Diane had to leave early. Jenni and I walked a little longer, then I went home to rest a little and fill out a contract. I went to Joe's house at 3 for the inspection and signing over. He paid me and gave me two keys. He left a bunch of cleaning stuff behind, but they took both cats.

So I went back home to watch a little more of The Highwire: the doctor said he discovered that vit C and cortizone used together cures sepsis. But all too soon, I had to change clothes and put the bread in a bag on a plate and take it to the community center for judging. The judging was supposed to start at 4, but it didn't.

First they gave prizes to people who were reported to have gone above and beyond. They crowned a Kaiser and Kaisen. THEN, the judges had each contestant come up and talk about their submission while the judges tasted it. There were 10 so it took awhile. When I cut pieces for the judges, I cut one for myself. It was a little dry but very tasty. Then the judges disappeared. I wondered if they all got sugar highs. Tonja gave me one of her German spice cookies. I got a little lightheaded.

Anyway, so I sat and talked with whomever came to the table. It was fun, but Saronna did not come, so I couldn't dance with Jedidiah. We discussed mice in our engines. Someone said they leave their hood open at night and it discourages the mice because it isn't so dark.

Chris called, but it was too loud for me to hear him. So I said my goodbye's and went home. I called him back. We had a short chat. I told him about being stopped last night. I opened packages from the post office and put them away. I opened the hood of my car, and put in a moth ball. I read e-mail until after 11, then posted to my blog and went to bed.

Kugelhopf

Wednesday

I got up at 8:30, having had trouble staying asleep. I watered the plants at home and some gopher holes. No gophers crawled out. Then I started coffee morning and put on some music. I did my exercises, drybrushing, etc and tapped.

I kept checking Facebook messages because Charity was asking me questions about my car so she could determine what kind of oil and filter I needed. I took pics of the stickers inside the door, but none of them told her what she needed to know.

I cleaned the bathrooms and kitchen. My vacuum was at the other house so I skipped that. I took a shower and got dressed. I went to Charity's house since it was two doors down from the one I am cleaning. She could not find the appropriate sticker either so she asked me to pop the hood.

The first thing we noticed was that mice had been chewing and nesting near the engine. There were no labels telling how big the engine was. She checked the oil. It was not low but it was dirty. I asked about buying an extra battery and she said that was ok but you have to keep topping it off. We looked for the battery and could not find it, even with the owner's manual, which seemed to be purposely unhelpful. It showed where to connect jumper cables, but there was no battery there.

Finally we agreed to do it later. I went to the house to clean, but only had 15 minutes before I had to go home and changed shoes to go walking. I met Diane and Michelle at the gym and we walked for half an hour, then went our separate ways.

I went to the post office and then home. I looked at bread recipes to find a German one. I went to the commissary to get moth balls for the mice, and a few other things. Jenni was bagging so I left her a $5 because I didn't have any ones. I took my groceries home.

I got a message from Verizon asking me to finish signing up. Thinking it was spam, I ignored it and went back to the house to clean. But then I got a call from Faye asking me to approve it. I hung up and turned on my data, and tried. It didn't work. A Verizon lady called to ask for Faye's number, but in trying to bring it up, the call dropped. Faye called back and I went home to try it on the laptop. As I was driving, there was a man jogging in the middle of the road with headphones on. He did not hear me drive up behind him. I followed him a bit, then called out the window. But he still did not hear me. I had to toot the horn, which seem to scare him because he scrambled to the sidewalk and glared at me.

When I got home and clicked on the message, it approved it right away without me having to sign in. Faye and I talked a little more, then I went back to the house to clean. This time I got the upstairs done, nearly two hours of work, before Chris called. By then it was dark, so I packed up and went home.

Actually I got stopped on the way home. The policeman said I didn't stop at the sign. I had trouble finding my registration with his flashing lights hitting me from all sides (in my mirrors). Sadly it seemed to take longer than it needed to. Finally he wrote me a Dugway ticket, which is more like a warning. It put four points on my Dugway record. He said if I got 12 in a year, the commander could revoke my driving privileges. I smiled at that. The man seemed not to know who I was and I didn't tell him. I just said he was right to stop me, thanked him, and went home.

I had a bowl of yeast, sugar and water sitting on the counter. It was kind of bubbly, but I expected more because of how long it had been sitting there. I got out the recipe for Kugelhopf. I mixed up the dough and put it in the bread machine. Then I worked on the filling. It called for semi-sweet chocolate. So I looked up substitutions. But they were all different! The same stuff (cocoa, sugar, oil), but in very different amounts. Each one proclaimed to be equal to an ounce of chocolate although they ranged from 3T to 7T of ingredients. So I decided to do it by weight. I put in 5 oz of Nutella and 3 oz of raw cacao. Because this is my fasting day, I kept telling myself not to lick my fingers, but it didn't work.

I measured out the rest of the ingredients and put them in the oven to keep overnight. I worked on my blog while the dough was mixing, then put it in the fridge. I couldn't find my bundlt pan, so I messaged Tonja to see if there was one at the swap shop. She said no, but I could borrow hers. I indicated that I would come by in the morning.

I finished my blog, then took a moth ball and went out to my car. However, it was too dark to see the exact location of the nest and I couldn't find a flashlight, so I left the ball on top of the oil tank. I looked up the battery location online, and it is in the trunk under the spare tire! I stayed up way too late reading, then put some stuff away and went to bed.

Cleaning after dark

Tuesday

I got up late. I puttered around getting ready and watering plants at home. Then I took a bag of diced grapefruit peel to the garden. Something had been wrecking my tomato plants again, but not bothering the trap I laid at the base. I picked up a tomato branch that was broken off and took it with me to the house.

I put it in a cup of water. I cleaned for two hours plus, then went home for breakfast. I listened to two podcasts and an interview about arsenic poisoning. At 2, I went to Saronna's house to play, not having seen her message. Her son had been sick, but in the last 20 minutes was feeling better. So we played from the hymn book and sheet music, having a good time as usual.

Then I answered William's call. He wanted to know about Michele's wedding. Then I went over to Michelle's house to pick up freeze-dried eggs. She also gave me a pet fountain. We each proceeded to the gym. Diane joined us and Tonja showed up just long enough to give me the cookbooks I had to return.

Three of us walked around the track. Michelle told us about the director of MWR going over command's head. After half an hour, we went our separate ways. I went by the swap shop to pick up the rest of the books, and our mail. I took the books to the house and left them in the garage where Steve could find them.

Then I went home to watch the quilt guild meeting on zoom. I took pics of Sew-n-tell. I ate a cucumber that Jenni gave me, and some tomatoes and potato salad.

A little after six, I left the meeting and went to the house to clean for 2 hours. I worked mostly upstairs, but it got dark. Then I went home to work on my blog and read e-mail. I talked to Chris for a short time, then went on listening until bedtime.

* Yes, she did cut up the quilt to make the jacket. *

The cat leaves and I start cleaning

Monday

I woke up hearing Chris moving about the house. I tried to go back to sleep, but was still slightly awake when he kissed me goodbye. And then all was quiet. I stayed in bed for a bit, but finally got up. I brushed and swished. I checked the tower garden and saw that the mice had been in it again. Sigh. I had moved it out of the wind but clearly they found it.

I made a list of all I intended to do today. I recorded hours for cleaning the company house. I submitted August hours and Jamie's hours to the new point of contact. I watered the plants at home. I didn't see any gopher mounds that needed addressing.

I packed the car with cleaners and food. I went to Michelle's house. Saronna was just walking by. She and I talked about camping in the rain. Then Michelle came out. I gave her the eggs and kale to freeze-dry. She said it was swiss chard and did I have any extra? I told her she could have it all because it just kept growing in my garden and I don't like it that much.

Then I went to the garden to water, fertilize and make notes of damage from pests. From there I went to clean April's house, or rather, the house formerly known as April's. I spent the first 15 minutes just trying to figure out why my vacuum hose had no suction. Well, it was stuffed full of dog hair. I suspect Amanda did not empty it soon enough.

At noon, I put the leftover food from her fridge in a container and took it home. I made and ate breakfast and read e-mail. Then I went back to clean again for an hour. Then I returned a DVD and got a new one. I stopped by the post office for mail.

I met the ladies at the school and we went walking, but cut it short because Jenni wasn't feeling well. Then I cleaned for another hour. Faye called to talk about estate stuff and Tonja came over to help take left-behinds to the swap shop.

When I got back to the house, Steve had just pulled up. He said April left some stuff for him. I told him it had all gone to the swap shop, even the cook books. He called her and she said she didn't mean to leave them behind.

I went home for supper. I made a salad, and listened to part of a podcast. Chris called and we talked. Then Jenni came over. She gave me a cucumber and I gave her the Cheerios and spice paste left behind. She stayed to talk, about an hour.

I listened to a podcast on future of society as inflation rises. I watched a yoga teacher floss his sinuses as one method of clearing them. Yikes! I worked on my blog, then it was time for bed.

Two kinds of snack

Sunday

I got up around the right time. I whipped up a batch of seed crackers and threw them in the oven. I watered the plants at home. A gopher climbed out of a hole in response to the watering. I grabbed him and held it long enough to get a stone... Later, I went to the garden to water, weed, and pick.

When I got back, there was a message that church was canceled due to family emergency. Michelle texted that we could gather and sing instead. I promised to bring a snack. I loaded the sewing class pics to the Dugway Facebook page. Chris gave me a coconut oil massage. He took a shower while I made potato salad by combining recipes on the internet.

I took a shower, and dressed informally. I read e-mail for awhile. I went to chapel to sing, completely forgetting the seed crackers. We talked first, then sang with the piano. I held the hymn book open with one hand and played soprano and alto with the other. It was ok.

The ladies stayed to talk, then we went home. I returned clean towels to the company house. Chris wanted me to cut his hair, so I did my best. Perhaps if I did my worst, he would take my advice and go get a real haircut.

I read e-mail for a bit, then went to the gym to work out with Michelle. We also talked to the band director. After the workout, we sat in the sauna and chatted.

When I got home, I made cheese sticks. I had picked kale from the garden and washed it. I laid it out to dry. I picked a salad from whatever was growing. As I ate, I read articles. I made tea, and we watched more episodes of Knight Rider. It was nice to see actors with their original dentition.

I got back on my laptop. Chris packed his bags for tomorrow and went to bed. I texted with Kurt and hit the hay sometime after 11:30.

The checks are in the mail

Saturday

I got up late. Michele called Chris' phone because mine was off. She wanted to talk about the status of her wedding dress. I offered to buy more lace if she needed it but she would rather have the money for a honeymoon in Scotland.

I watered plants and gopher mounds. I wrote two checks and put them in the mail. I found the lights on in the swap shop and turned them off before locking the door. When I got home, I pulled fabrics for the class. I parsed supplements for the next two weeks. I made breakfast and listened to interviews about foreign relations.

At 1:30, I loaded my car and went to the chapel. Chris brought in the machines and I set them up. 2 pm came and went. I went home for my phone and a larger cutting board. When I got back, I found four people there: Diane, Jenni, Tonja and Rebecca. Diane helped her son make a pillowcase and they left. Rebecca's son did not help her at all. Jenni and Tonja both made two pillowcases for grandkids.

It was after 4 when we packed up and went home. I rested a little, then went to the company house to finish cleaning. I got home after 6. Chris had baked my potatoes in the oven. Then he made steak while I picked a salad. Sadly, the lid of a plastic container on the stove melted. I read e-mail and watched Telegram videos. I put some oregano stems in water to root.

I made tea and we watched more episodes of Knightrider. I stayed up to read e-mail, then went to bed.

Eating our first potato

Friday

We got up late. I got dressed and went to the company house to get the sheets started. I noticed that the washer stuck on 'rinse'. I rebooted it and left the sheets to wash.

I went home, and watered the home plants w/ LAB. I filtered out the cheese from the whey. Then I went to the garden. I noted damage and checked the traps. I snuck potatoes here and there.

At home, I looked up what to do with green potatoes. Then I went back to the house. It had been more than 90 minutes, but the washer was not done. It was still rinsing.

I went home. I posted a pillowcase-making class to Facebook. I watched more videos. Chris and I discussed how to make a repellant out of green potatoes. When I went back to the house, the sheets were done. I put the sheets in dryer and brought the towels home to wash. I made breakfast, but ran out of daily doses of supplements.

I jotted notes on today's activities. I added things to the shopping list. I filled a bottle with tea, and we went to Tooele. We shopped at Luckey's, Melanie's and Macey's. Chris took 2 gopher stakes back to Harbor Freight because they didn't work.

We came back, listening to the book on CD. We unloaded the groceries. I unlocked the swap shop by request. I read some e-mail, then changed into a suit and went to the pool. It was only slightly warmer than without the heater. Brrr! I swam for 55 minutes, then toweled off and went home.

I meant to go cleaning, but I was too tired. Chris cooked some shrimp for me. He chopped up some of our potatoes and diced them into tiny pieces so it cooked quickly. Yum! I picked greens and made a salad. I listened to interviews, and worked on my blog. Then we finished book on CD, and watched first two episodes of Knightrider.

We retired to our laptops. Chris went to bed after an hour or so. I was listening to an interview with Judy Mikovitz and it ended after midnight.

A mouse came to Game night

Thursday

I woke up early hearing Chris, but apparently went back to sleep. It was after 7:30 when he left. I got dressed and brushed my teeth. I looked up how to turn off accidental touch protection on my phone. It sounds like a good thing, but never responds to swiping so is just an impediment. I worked on my blog post for tonight. I discovered I was down to my last check, but I needed to write two of them. I listened to health interviews as I grated five small zucchinis. I covered them in vinegar and spices and put that in the fridge.

I put on The Highwire and made breakfast, then ate it. I paused it at 2:15, found a blank cleaning contract and an envelop. I went to April's house. The movers were just finishing up. Some of the Housing people were there. We chatted and played with the dogs. When the final guy came, we went over the contract and signed it. She gave me cash and keys, which I put into the envelop with the address on it. I also wrote down her garage code for later. The Housing people left and then she and I carried some stuff from the shed to the garage for transport to the swap shop later.

I went home, listened to more of The Highwire's interview with Alex Jones. Then I went to the gym to walk. At first I walked alone, but then Michelle came, and soon after, Jenni. The last to arrive was also the first to quit. But then the three of us stood around talking till after 5.

We went home. I ate some cheese sticks and muffins while finishing the interview. Then it started to rain, so I put up my car windows. It was time to go to the game/trivia night, but I was so tired. However, after a little tapping, I went anyway.

Tables were set up and people were playing games. I talked to Jeff until Tonja arrived. She pulled out a 500 piece puzzle. Rebecca joined us and we completed it in less than 2 hours. I enjoyed the veggies and fruit that some people brought. There was lots of stuff I wouldn't eat, too. As people finished their games, they put away their table and chairs. After we packed up, I spied a mouse running across a doorway. I went to investigate and others came along. We didn't find the mouse until some boy moved the sofa. Then we could see evidence of chewing, and the mouse ran out the door.

I went home, and worked on writing up the day's events. I made tea. We watched three episodes of Barney Miller. It wasn't that great. Feeling lightheaded and dizzy, I went to bed early.

Here, there, and everywhere

Wednesday

I woke up early when Chris got up, but I went back to sleep. It was after 8 when I woke up. It was raining, so I skipped watering and made coffee. I also drybrushed, rebounded, etc. I tapped for speaking in tongues. I am still not sure I am doing it right.

Afterwards, I cleaned the house, esp the kitchen. It always takes the longest, especially with washing dishes. Chris pulled out the bread machine, so I filled it with dry ingredients and got out some frozen blocks of whey. It was taking too long to thaw so then I put them in the tea pot and heated it. I added enough water to make 1.5 cups and started the machine. Then I took the Berkey apart and scrubbed the charcoal filters. They had brown stuff growing on them.

At 3 I went to April's house to re-quote. We settled on $240. At 3:30 I walked with Tonja at the gym. We saw Charity there and she talked about how impressed she was when Chris slid down the slip-n-slide in his suit and tie.

After walking, I met with Joe to see how his cleaning was coming. He wants a re-quote on the morning of his inspection next week. Then I went to the garden. None of the traps were tripped. But I didn't see any rodent damage either.

I went over to Jamie's house. Amanda didn't pay her for mowing so I gave her $20. She gave me some cleaners and vacuum attachments, then showed me the riding mower that she just bought, used. I got a scratch on a sculpture in her side yard. I licked it, but later Chris said it would have been better to let the dog lick it. I went home to wash it off. I watered gopher mounds and flattened the gopher that climbed out. Then I read e-mail and articles for a long time.

Chris came home after 9. He put a bandaid on my scratch. I made tea, and we watched the very last episode of Cheers. It was really long and it wasn't great, but it must be tough to write an ending to such a popular series.

Afterwards we had a long discussion about current issues. It was after midnight when he went to bed. I stayed up to post to my blog, then turned in.

The community meeting

Tuesday

I got up about 8:30. It was raining. I brushed and swished. I resumed listening to the episode on sleep. They mentioned hops tea, valerian tea, nutmeg (takes 4 hours), 4 T of poppy seeds, ashwaghanda, shankhpushpi, skullcap, blue vervain, lemon balm. Or use rhodiola as an adaptogen.

While listening, I made more green mix. Later I made breakfast and ate while reading e-mail. At 2 I went to Saronna's house to play music. And we did, but soon after I got there, her daughter called from school to say she wasn't feeling well. So we had to wrap up early.

I proceeded to the garden. I saw a lot of rodent destruction, so I went home to get twine and traps. I set the traps and tied up some tomato vines. I covered some with netting. I took home a vine that had been ripped from the plant and put it in water.

At 3:30 I went to the gym for walking. I ran into Mickey who was just leaving so we chatted. Then I went inside. Only Rebecca came, so we walked and talked for half an hour. Her son came along, but he kept asking to go home.

When I got home, I picked greens and made a salad. I got on Zoom for the quilt guild meeting, but it turned out that I am a week early. I ate some cheese, and watched videos on making cheese and using whey.

Then at 6 I went to the community club for the monthly community meeting. It was a small group. There was lots of discussion and female bonding, and stuff Chris should have heard, and some he probably shouldn't hear about. But he was in Tooele with the CSM.

When it broke up, we went home in the rain. I made tea and we watched episodes of Cheers. I remembered parts of the community conversation and related them to Chris. He went to bed and later, so did I.

My vacuum gets around

Monday

I brushed and swished, then got dressed. I watered the plants at home, then went to Amanda's house. I picked up the chairs and cleaning stuff she couldn't take. I didn't have room for my vacuum so I left it there. I went through her house and did some touch-up cleaning. There was dog hair higher on the walls than I could reach. The inspectors came and commented, but passed it.

The chaplain came by with a van. He took her, her kids and their suitcases back to his house. I looked for my keys and the vacuum. I only found the keys. I went home, and prepared to go to the garden. I potted a sweet potato sprout for Kincie. Then I went up the hill to her house. She was there with Amanda and her 7 kids whom her husband was going to drive to Salt Lake City to spend the night before leaving for Alaska.

The chaplain had returned the vacuum to Housing along with the carpet cleaner. I went to Housing to get my vacuum, and they said they hadn't seen Amanda so I texted her to see if she needed a ride to turn her keys into Housing. She said yes so I went back up there to get her. I drove her to Housing and then back to the chaplain's house.

Finally I went to the garden to fertilize with LAB. I found and picked a small sweet potato, and a green tomato that I hope will ripen later.

As I was nearing home, I saw Rebecca leaving my neighborhood. She wanted to drop by, so we went back to my house. I showed her all my plants and gave her some plus cuttings. Chris came home for lunch. Her son wanted to talk about his game and miniature soldiers. Chris showed off his little lead men. Then the boy asked about the trombone. So I let him play it. In 5 minutes he was playing jazz (so he said). It was chaotic, but he was a natural!

After they left, Chris left too. He said he was going on a helicopter ride, and no, I couldn't come along. I made and ate breakfast while looking at e-mail. I talked to Faye about my wrist. Then I went to the gym to meet the ladies for walking. v Michelle came in with my necklace, which she had gotten out of the sauna with a series of screwdrivers. Tonya was there and I asked her to help me at the swap shop later. Jenni came after school. We started walking and then Rebecca and her son joined us. Jenni got tired and went home. Rebecca left, then Tonja went downstairs. Michelle and I walked a few more rounds, then went down. Tonja and I went to the swap shop to carry in Amanda's stuff from my trunk.

When I got home, I ate some steak and read e-mail. There was an article on Screwthewho.com about the WHO asking for 90 second video submissions from the public on how they can prevent the next pandemic.

Chris came home 15 minutes late from work. He told me how he was going to be late every day this week. I reminded him of the community meeting and the game/trivia night. He was going to miss both. I watched videos on 9/11 showing how the buildings collapsed like buildings being demo'd, and other inconsistencies with the gov't narrative.

I jotted notes for my blog. I mowed the other side of the yard and anointed some gopher mounds with water. Then I put the mower away and made a salad. I heated tea and we watched episodes of Cheers. Later Chris went to bed and even later, I turned in.

The perfect batteries for the solar panel

Sunday

I read a little e-mail, brushed my teeth, then watered the plants at home. I made muffins using a banana and freeze-dried eggs. They took longer to bake, but were very moist.

I watered in the garden, and picked some potatoes. I came home, then washed out the sprouting garlic container. I threw out some soft cloves and added new ones. Chris gave me a coconut oil massage. He took a shower and then I took mine. I made breakfast and read e-mail as I ate. I got dressed for church. I heard Chris talking to Michele as the game was getting started, so I asked her some questions about the wedding. Then I took my trombone to the chapel.

As I walked up, the chaplain was taking his wife home because she wasn't feeling well. I put the muffins on the back table, then went up front to assemble my trombone. The pastor's young sons tried to play it. One of them actually made the right sound. As people came, I talked to Jenni and Rick. Saronna did not come because she had a sick kid.

The pastor's sons sat with Michelle during the service. Praise songs were played but hardly anyone sang. The chaplain gave his sermon. Then I played hymns that the congregation picked. After the closing prayer, I talked to Michelle. And then to John about the solar panel. He suggested I meet him behind the barracks. So I drove over there (not far) and he pulled two 12 volt batteries from his trunk. They were just like the ones inside my mower battery pack. He gave them to me, and we talked about 3D printing for a bit.

I went home, changed clothes, ate some fruit and read articles. I packed my sauna bag and went to the gym at 4:30. I met Jenni there. I turned on the sauna. We started working out in the weight room doing legs and abs, and then Michelle came. She moved the heavy weights off of the arm machines so Jenni and I could use them. Then we all sat in the sauna and talked. My necklace fell between the slats and was gone from sight. We couldn't find it. At 6 we were asked to leave.

So we did. We talked outside for a bit then went home. Jenni followed me home. I gave her half of the potatoes I picked. I offered her lettuce and spinach and stuff growing in the tower garden, but she declined and went home. I ate supper then mowed the lawn on one side. I filled some gopher holes with water but no gophers appeared.

I ate blueberries and worked on my blog. I played through the jazz piece. Then we watched four episodes of Cheers. Afterward, we made the bed with clean sheets. I read e-mail and then went to bed.

Helping Amanda clean

Saturday

I had a rough night. That chicken I ate for supper, which was 5 days old and greasy, was hard to digest. And my gut worked on it all night long. I got up, not feeling rested. It was 40 degrees outside, which is depressing after having a glorious heatwave over 100 every day. Some people complained, but I loved it.

I read e-mail for awhile till it warmed up to 60. Then I watered the plants at home, and then at the garden. I didn't pick anything. When I got back, I used the hose to flush out gophers. I think I killed two.

Then I put my vacuum and some folding chairs in my trunk and went to Amanda's house. She has 7 kids and is in the process of moving. The movers are gone, so they have nothing but suitcases to live out of. She was cleaning house with her cousins. Her vacuum stopped working, and she needed more help cleaning. So I did windows and blinds and fan blades stepping around kids. I also removed spots from walls, but I had never seen spots like that.

After 2.5 hours, I went home and made breakfast. Then I went back, with alcohol and acetone to get crayon marks off the walls. But neither worked. I cleaned the window in the kitchen. I pulled out the stove and fridge and she cleaned behind them. Then she said she could handle the rest. I left my vacuum there and some cleaning supplies. I went home and got some boxes for her to put her leftover cleaning supplies in for the swap shop.

I went to the post office to get a package and to drop off a bag at the swap shop. When I got home, there were messages from Michelle at the pool. So I quickly put on my suit, grabbed the clock, and went over there. I spoke with her and Mandi. Mandi asked if I did weekly cleaning and I said I could. She wants someone to come for 2 hours twice a week. Then they all left. But then Gene came and he swam. So I did laps for an hour, then got out, just after Gene did. He went home, but I had to rest for a bit, before heading out.

When I got home, Chris was cooking steak for supper. I called Faye and we had a nice chat. Then I worked on my blog and made tea. I practiced a jazz version of When the Saints Go Marching In. We watched four episodes of Cheers. I read e-mail until late, then went to bed.

You can't buy food on Friday night

Friday

it was cool out, so I started my day by reading e-mail until it warmed up. However, I didn't start watering until almost 11. Then I did the usual watering around the house and at the garden. Chris had gone to the office for a meeting, and was home before I got back. I picked a bunch of kale at the garden for drying. And I dug up a few small potatoes.

When I got home, it was almost noon. I made breakfast and ate it while looking at the internet. I washed the goat milk jars and put them out for Casey to pick up. It was after 2 when I finally stopped and asked Chris when he wanted to go to Tooele. I guess he got caught up as well. I packed the cooler and changed my shoes. We rode to Tooele listening to our book on CD It is very interesting and yet it puts me to sleep. I woke up in time to shop at Luckey's. Then I went to Melanie's while Chris was checking out at the first place.

I wanted to go to Auto Zone to get a 12 volt car battery to use with the solar panel. But Chris was unsure that it was the right thing. We shopped at Macey's, then talked about batteries half the way home. The other half we listened to the book on CD.

When we got home, we put the food away. I texted with Michelle and we decided to meet at the pool. I got call from Amanda for a re-quote. I went over to look at her house. Her teenager came back saying the commissary was closed, so she couldn't buy food. So was the community club. So I went home to get a bag of rice, a can of chicken and a can of coconut milk (with pull tabs). We decided that she would pay me to help her clean instead of signing the house over to me.

By then I was a little late. I put on a suit to go to the pool. But then Michelle texted that it was closed. She also texted me pictures of a gopher that her daughter shot with a bow and arrow. Cool!

I listened to newsy audios, then worked on my blog and jotted notes for today. We watched 4 episodes of Cheers. I turned off my phone and went to bed. But sleep would not come, so I got up and read e-mail into the night.

What do you do without power?

Thursday

I was awakened in the middle of the night hearing Chris' phone ring. It was the CSM saying that she had no electricity and asking we did. So he turned on the bathroom light to see. He then went back to bed. I had trouble sleeping after that. When I got up, he was gone and the power was off.

I watered here and away. I picked a melon, not certain it was ripe, but it wasn't getting any bigger. When I got home, I watered a lot of gopher mounds, but never saw a gopher. I planted two sprouted garlic.

I laid in the sun in a skimpy suit until noon. Then I watched The Highwire on my phone while making and eating breakfast. I had to light the gas burner with a match to heat the tea. Then power came on at 1:50, but went off again 45 minutes later. Chris texted that the generators had overheated. It came on again about 3:20. I went walking with Diane at the gym at 3:30. I was surprised it was open. No one else came. We walkted and talked, then she had to go back to work.

When I got home, I read e-mail. I cut the melon open, but discovered it wasn't a melon. I texted the pic to Jenni who was bagging at the commissary. She looked it up and said it was a white squash.

Michelle and Casey came over. He read the solar panel instructions and Michelle chatted with me. As we were sitting in the livingroom talking, Chris came home. Casey and I went out to test the solar panel kit and Michelle told Chris about an incident that happened earlier today.

We discovered that the solar panel will charge a 12 volt battery. Then the battery gets disconnected from the panel and connected to the inverter to run whatever appliance is plugged into it. We had to disassemble the lawn mower battery to get a 12volt unit to try it out. It worked. But as he was reassembling the battery, there was a spark and smoke. He checked everything and it was ok, but a wire broke. So he went home and got a soldering kit. He fixed it and put the battery back together.

Then we chatted with Michelle. I gave Michelle a jar of goat cheese. They left, and I worked on my blog. I also played my trombone until Chris was ready to watch. We watched Cheers. I got really sleepy and nearly went to bed, but the act of turning everything off woke me up and so I read e-mail until late.

Preparing for the power outage

Wednesday

Chris got up early to help the fire fighters with their pancake breakfast. Since this is my fasting day, I did not attend. But apparently people who came asked about me.

I made coffee, then watered all the plants at home and at the garden. When I got back, I exercised and did my meditations. I tapped about speaking in tongues and ended up tapping in tongues. However, I did not notice any better outcome. Chris came home for lunch, He brought the new watering can from the post office. I cleaned the kitchens and bathrooms.

I walked with Diane around the block. We went early because she had meetings. She gave me an earful about people not liking their jobs. When I got home, CJ delivered two dozen eggs. I picked pepper leaves for drying at garden, then went home and changed clothes. I went to the gym to walk with the other ladies, but none showed up.

I went home and took a shower. I read some e-mail, then Michelle texted to see if I wanted to meet her for a workout with weights at the gym. So I did. She came with her daughter. She moved the heavy weights on the machines and replaced them with lighter weights. I did an arm circuit, a core circuit and a leg circuit.

When I got home, I unpacked the solar panel outside. I started reading the instructions. It sounded like a good way to get electrocuted. The instructions were in English, yet probably translated from another language. Chris came home and I asked him. He said he didn't know anyone who was an electrician. I brought the mower battery in and plugged it in to charge for tomorrow. Maybe the AC to DC converter will work on it when the power is turned off tomorrow. I slid the solar panel back in the box and put it in the garage to keep it from generating electricity.

I listened to This Week with Polly and Mary. I worked on my blog. I made tea and we watched episodes of Cheers. I read e-mail while Chris went to bed. Just before I went to bed, I put three cups of whey in the freezer to protect it from the power being out in the morning. I also packed a cooler with fruit so I won't have to open the fridge.

Treasure from the landfill

Tuesday

I got up on time, having slept pretty well. It was a cool morning so I read e-mail and watched a documentary called Covenom19. Then I paused it to water the plants at home and at the garden. I picked dandelion leaves, washed them and set them on the back porch for drying. I siphoned off the whey from the milk.

I made and ate breakfast. Chris came home with mail, ate lunch and went back to work. I watched more of the documentary. I printed out two versions of When the Saints go Marching In. I took my trombone to Saronna's house. We conversed for a bit before we got started playing. We played around with the two versions I printed. Then we started on the hymnal with hymn number 1. It sounded so good we decided to play it on Sunday.

Afterward, I went to the library to return my book and two seasons of Cheers. I picked up a season of Barney Miller. I went to the gym to walk with the ladies. After much chatting we decided to go visit the landfill.

Three of us rode in Tonja's car as she drove to the landfill. We found more than we could carry, including a very nice bookcase. So we loaded what we could and went to the swap shop to drop off a file cabinet, and then my house to drop off an ammo case and a board to cut up for shelving. Then we started calling around to find some strong people. Eventually we got Rebecca's neighbor and Chris to come out and do the heavy lifting. Then we all went to the swap shop to deliver the bookcase and tall filing cabinet.

Chris drove me to the gym to get my car and I met him back at home. I finished listening to a podcast on Al-Quada and false flags. I ate the leftover fish while Chris had leftover chicken. I brought in the now-dried herbs and put them in bags. I worked on my blog. I made tea and we watched episodes of Cheers, ending before 10. We both read e-mail for awhile, then he went to bed. I stayed up a little longer.

The Badass Women of Dugway

Monday

I got up late , but not as late as the past two days. I got dressed a little nicer than usual because of the pool party later. I watered a gopher hole and then beat the gopher that came out with the hose, which covered me in mud. Reluctantly I rinsed the mud out of my shirt and changed clothes.

I watered the plants at home, then at the garden. I finished the podcast from last night. In it, Judy Mikovitz was explaining how retroviruses work and how they could easily make a safe and effective vaccine in capsule form. It would activate both arms of the immune system and stop replication of the target virus.

I read e-mail. Chris heated the chicken in the oven and put ice in the new ice chest and filled it with beer. I got towels to wrap the casserole dishes of chicken in. We carried everything to the car and then went to the pool.

I didn't want to burn in the noon sun, so I found a shady spot to sit. Michelle was there with her family, as was Jenni. Later Tonja came as did Saronna and her kids. We had a nice chat for 3.5 hours. I played with Jedidiah. He was so cute! Chris brought me a plate of food, and later some different flavors of chicken wings. Jedidiah was happy to chew on the chicken bones.

It was after 3 when I packed up and walked over to Chris who spent most of his time talking to the guys who were grilling chicken wings and brauts. At one point he had taken off his shirt and jumped in the pool. All the women noticed. Anyway, he finished his beer and conversation, then we packed up the food and went home.

I read e-mail and snacked on nuts until 7. Then I put on my suit and went back to the pool. I gave some seed crackers to the life guard who had shared his rice with us. Then I swam and talked with Michelle and Heather. We called it the meeting of the badass women of Dugway. At one point I laughed so hard I nearly drowned. At 8 we got out and resumed our chat in the parking lot. One of the subjects was the situation with a boy at school who was making rude remarks to girls and touching them inappropriately. Michelle said she would notify the principal tomorrow.

When I got home, I made tea, and we watched 2 episodes of Cheers. I wrote my blog post and Chris went to bed. Then I read e-mail and listened to an interview about being internally consistent, applying the same logic to both sides of an issue. It was midnight by the time it finished.

Disappointing batch of cheese

Sunday

I got up around 9. I got dressed, then watered here and at garden. I pulled up two redbeets that were breaking through the top of the soil. I fixed a drip line, and covered peeking potatoes with dirt. When I got home, I replanted the red beets in the tower garden. I refilled mixes and spices. I picked dandelion and plantain for drying. Then I started making breakfast, just as Chris was preparing chicken for the oven.

I ate, then got dressed and took the trombone and snacks to church. I unpacked my trombone. Saronna came with her string bass. Michelle and her daughter came and then Chris arrived. His game got canceled because some people had other plans. The chaplain's assistant was on vacation, so he had a substitute. The substitute played the praise songs at the beginning of the service, but the words did not show on the screen, so no one sang. Then the chaplain gave his sermon. Afterward, we had communion. And then Saronna and I took requests for hymns. There were three requests so we played three hymns. After the service, I hugged Diane, then talked to Saronna about playing When the Saints Go Marching In. Then I realized everyone had left. Chris took my trombone home and I took the snacks and went home.

I read e-mail for awhile. I added milk to the fermenting liquid for LAB. Then I went to the gym for a workout. Diane and Jenni came, and we did stretches and some lifting. We left at 6 when the gym closed.

I ate a piece of chicken that Chris made. I put together a salad from stuff I picked. I brought in the dried herbs. I heated the goat milk for cheese. I read e-mail, and listened to podcasts. When I checked, the milk was not curdling well. I added lemon juice, and worked on my blog.

I made tea and played my trombone. We watched several episodes of Cheers. Chris went to bed, and I stayed up to finish the cheese and a podcast and start another one. When I realized it was after midnight, I went to bed.

Tonja's new machine

Saturday

I got up really late. I watered plants here, then went to the garden. The batteries in the irrigation timer were dead, so I came back to get new batteries. I found some fencing in the shed to make a tomato cage for the one plant that's in the box with the potatoes. It's finally big enough to need a cage. When I got back, Chris gave me a coconut oil massage. He took a shower, and then I did. I went to Michelle's house to get the peanuts, mint and eggs that she freeze-dried for me. The peanuts were unchanged.

We chatted till after noon, then went home for breakfast. I had some fruit, then collected the materials and went to sewing at the chapel. Chris brought the machines in. I set one up. Tonja showed up to help, but then no one else came. We looked at and played with Tonja's new machine. I texted Jenni and she showed up after 3. We all talked till 4 and no one made the jar opener. Then we packed up, and went home.

I drank tea to re-hydrate. I met Jenni at the company house. We spent 45 minutes making the beds and cleaning the floors. I paid her and we went home. I made cheese sticks, and when they came out, put in seed crackers to bake. That used up all the fresh eggs I had. But now I have powdered eggs to use. I ate leftover fish for supper. I didn't have time for a full salad so I just ate a few raw veggies.

I put on my swim suit and went to the pool. It was still cold. The lifeguard said the heater was installed and there was hot water in the showers. Hmm. I swam around in the pool with Michelle's daughter. Jenni chatted with the lifeguard. At 8 we got out, dried off, and continued to converse. And then again in the parking lot.

When I got home, I read e-mail. I posted to my blog and made tea. We watched 4 episodes of Cheers. I read articles for an hour or so. Then I was interrupted by a strange sound. It turned out to be a small rodent, jumping up against the french doors, as if he wanted to come in. I tried to take pics, but none of them came out. Then I put the seed crackers away and went to bed.

The keys are back where they belong

Friday

I watered the plants at home, then went to the company house and put their sheets in the washer. I headed to the garden, and ran into Michelle. I stopped and we talked for 45 minutes. Then I went to the garden and fed the plants there. I picked up more little peppers lying around near the potatoes. Are the varmints sitting around and smoking the peppers at night? I collected some mint and a few leaves of kale, red beet, and radish.

When I got home, I stripped the leaves off of the mint stems and washed them. I put them on the back porch to dry. I went back to the company house to put the sheets in the dryer and put towels in the washer.

I came home, and filled the Greenstalk with water (which is supposed to water all the pockets in the tower garden. I also watered the flowerbeds. I beat 4 eggs and added them to the frozen eggs on the pan in the freezer. Raw eggs have to be frozen before they can be freeze-dried.

Then I listened to a podcast until noon. It was time to put the towels in the dryer. When I got back from the house, I made and ate breakfast. As soon I was done, we were going to head to Tooele, but Jamie showed up with the swap shop keys! We were both very excited! Apparently someone found them in the parking lot and turned them in to Dispatch. We chatted about our upcoming cleaning in September. Then she left.

We listened to more of the book on CD on the way to Tooele. We shopped at the usual places, plus I bought some vinyl at Joanns for a future project. When we got back, we got the mail and put away the food. Then I took the pan of frozen eggs to Michelle's house. I also gave her a bag of peanuts and mint. She had a pan of spinach, so those four things went into her freeze-dryer.

I cleaned at the company house for 50 minutes, then went home for supper. Chris made fish and I made a salad.

As soon as I finished eating, I put on a swim suit and went to the pool. I carried my clock with me and set it up in a chair. Michelle was standing in the pool so I swam circles around her so we could chat until it was time to go. Heather was there, too. We chatted on the way out. They teased me about my clock looking like a Captain America shield. I gave Michelle a bag of rice and beans to take to the food bank.

I went home, changed into dry clothes, and worked on my blog. I heated tea, and we watched a movie called Death on the Nile. It was a remake, but pretty good. Afterward, I finished reading my book, and went to bed after midnight.

Just like Grandpappy used to have

Thursday

I slept in late. I got up and dressed. I flattened a mound and picked some dandelion for drying. I mixed up some special fertilizer and watered the home plants. I swept the back porch and put the sweepings in a flower pot. I blended the small discarded hot peppers from the garden yesterday. I took the liquid back and spread it around the pepper plants. I fertilized the garden from the 5 gallon bucket there. I think the mystery vine is a cantaloupe.

I read e-mail. I made and ate breakfast, then watched The Highwire. I paused it when Chris came home for lunch. He moved the wires on the back of the router like always, but neither of us had connection. After eating lunch, he went back to work. I re-arranged the wires, but still did not have connection, so as a last resort, I plugged my computer into the modem.

I finished The Highwire. No one was available to walk at 3:30, so I didn't stop reading articles. I powdered some herbs and put them in labeled baggies for storage. I chose a jar opener for the sewing project. I sewed one up and took pics of it.

Chris came home from work. He got mad that I had rearranged the wires and not told him it didn't work. He rearranged them again, and then it worked. He looked at a plant for me and identified it as purple cabbage. He called to order pizza.

Then Michelle texted that she was ready to walk. So I drove over to her house. I paid her for the goat milk. We walked around the block and saw Chris go pick up his pizza. She and I chatted for a bit when I got back to her house.

Then I went home, but decided to stop at the swap shop. Tonja was there. I talked with her and picked out a few things. I found a metronome like Grandpappy had. Other people were there, left and then more people came. I went home.

I posted the sewing project to the Facebook page. I brought in my now dry dandelion and kale. I picked salad greens for supper. I worked on my blog, I made tea, and then we watched episodes of Cheers. Afterward, I read my book, dozing on and off. Finally I turned everything off and went to bed.

Coffee morning

Wednesday

I got up a little late. I watered at home, and at the garden. I found more tiny green peppers lying around, particularly by the box growing potatoes. I took them home to make hot pepper juice.

When I got back, I read a book, then had coffee morning. I cleaned the bathrooms as Chris came home and ate lunch. I continued to clean in the kitchen, then went walking with Michelle at the gym. When I got home, I sat down and read e-mail.

Chris came home after work, then went to Mass. When he got back, I paused my video and put on my suit and went to the pool. It was still very cold. There were lots of kids tonight. I talked to Michelle and swam horizontal laps. After she left, time went so slowly that I was afraid the clock had stopped. So I got out and toweled off. I carried my clock to the car and went home.

I changed into dry clothes. I tried a keto test but it was very slight. I resumed my video from earlier. I posted to my blog. Then I made tea and we watched episodes of Cheers. I was so cold that Chris took me to bed and cuddled till we both fell asleep. Then I woke up and went to shut everything off. Chris got up, too, but went back to bed. I read for a bit before I went back to bed.
