Too much cleaning

Wednesday

I got up at almost 8. I did my exercises and made coffee. Then I meditated and tapped, When that was done, I turned my phone back on and checked Facebook. A lady was looking for someone to sew patches on her scrubs, but by then it was too late.

I cleaned the bathrooms and kitchen. I washed a sinkful of dishes. I vacuumed the carpeted areas, then showered and got dressed. I went up the hill to clean for an hour.

Then I met Michelle at the gym for walking. After walking, we did a weighted workout. I went and cleaned for another hour.

I came home and saw the plants were looking droopy again so I watered again. Chris came home from work. We talked for a bit. I worked on my blog. i talked to Jenni for almost an hour. Then I made tea and we watched two episodes of Andromeda. Chris went to bed and I stayed up later than I intended. But I did get in a couple of tapping videos.

Two more houses off my list

Tuesday

I woke up hearing Chris getting ready to leave. A little later I got up. I got dressed. I watered the plants outside. I finished mending Chris' pants and I laid them on the bed.

I went to 648 to take one last look and realized that the ceiling fan was dirty. I went up the hill to get my fan blade cleaner. But then I had to go to 408 for inspection. Thankfully it was in good shape. Collie said they were going to replace all the carpet (which I had just shampooed). Sigh.

Then I went back to 648 to clean the fan and wait for the inspection team to come over. I also wiped some windows. Then they arrived, took pics and had me sign the paperwork. I went by Housing to turn in the key and garage opener.

I went home to hydrate, then up the hill to work on the CSM's house. I cleaned the windows on the front of the house, trying to get them done before the sun got to them. I just barely made it because I kept getting texts from the swap shop.

At noon I went home for breakfast. I finished the fruit watermelon. I read some e-mail. I started a tapping sequence and Chris came home. He said the plants needed watering, so I went out to water and he left.

It was 2, so I grabbed the new music book and headed to Saronna's house. We talked a bit, then played from the book. It was called It don't mean a Think if It Ain't Got That Swing. We did ok for sight reading. We tried to play with the CD but it was pretty fast.

She had to pack up early to get her kids from school, so I packed up and went up the hill to clean again. The windows were done so I focused on the kitchen: stove and lower cabinets.

At 5 I went home for supper. The steak was gone so I went for a pickled egg. There were redbeets in there, and I found a jar of mushrooms. Then Chris said it was time to go, so I grabbed a banana and some walnuts.

He drove us to Headquarters for the town hall. He went up front and I sat in the second row, behind the garrison team. I didn't see Michelle come in. Then Shannon sat beside me. The command team was at the front table and told jokes while waiting to go live on Facebook. When it started, there was a page of topics in order. Then, as slides came up, different members got up to explain their information. Questions were invited and asked and answered.

When it broke up, I spoke to a few people. I let Mauvet know I will miss her. I spoke to the chaplain. Karen asked me to text her before band practice next week. Then I waited for Chris to finish up, and he turned out the lights. We ran into a few other people who were just leaving, and walked out to the parking lot. Chris drove us home.

While I worked on my blog, Chris tried on the pants and said they fit better. After blogging, I made tea and we watched an episode of Andromeda. Then he went to bed, and I stayed up reading.

Starting a big project

Monday

I got up at 7:30, having slept fine. I watered the plants outside and in. I leveled some gopher mounds. No gophers came up to face the music. I put a check in an envelop and called my bank to find out who to mail it to. I also watched a video on how to let out men's pants. Then I opened the back seam of Chris' suit pants.

Just before 10, I packed my car with cleaning supplies and went up the hill to the CSM's house. The inspectors were there. We chatted as we waited for the CSM. They want the house back in 10 days. She arrived, and we signed the cleaning contract. She gave me a wad of 20's and I counted too many. She said she gave me extra. Probably for Jamie. I moved my cleaning supplies inside and started cleaning, hoping they would leave. Eventually they did.

Then I discovered a small crack or gouge in the tub as I put ammonia water in to soak the decals off. I went by Housing to report it and to schedule two inspections for tomorrow. Then I went home for a few things I forgot and I put the check in the mail.

I went back to the CSM's house and worked here and there, soaking stuff in the kitchen and doing some cupboards. Then I went home for breakfast. I ate and read e-mail. At 2:30 I went back to the CSM's house to work on windows in the back where the sun doesn't shine in the afternoon. A plumber came over to look at the gouge. He also mentioned the tub in 408. After he left, Jamie came over to talk about how she could help. Then she left and I cleaned windows and tracks until 5:30. I took some food from the fridge and went home.

I ate the last of the leftover steak from the fridge. Chris came home from work and started cooking mushrooms in the oven. I picked some greens for a salad. Chris made some salad dressing. I ate it and headed to the chapel.

Keli was waiting in her truck. We went inside and she immediately noticed the spiral bound hymnal. She played piano while Dylan and his mom and grandma came in. The women listened while the three of us played from the hymnal, then from a score of music that I had grabbed from the bandroom. It was a lot more difficult than the band books. But we did ok, seeing as we had so many missing parts.

When my lip gave out, practice ended. Grandma wanted to see the CSM house that her son will be living in, so they all followed me up the hill. I opened the garage and let them look around the house. I texted Saronna and she came to get the food from the fridge and cupboard. We talked about the change of command eremony on Thursday. Then we all went home.

I sat down to write my blog, and then we watched an episode of Andromeda. Only time for one. Then he went to bed and I stayed up later as usual.

The potluck and the watermelon

Sunday

I had not slept well (as usual for a Saturday night. I blame the pool.) I woke up thinking about how I am signing for the CSM's house to clean it and the new CSM is waiting to move in. I got up and suggested to Chris that I could clean one end of the house while they replace the carpet in the other end. Then I would clean the carpeted end. But he said I should go through with a gov't representative and spell out what is my responsibility to clean, and what cleanup is on the contractor.

Then I went outside to water the plants and annoy gophers. None came topside. I pulled some weeds that grow thorny seeds. Then I came in to jot notes for my blog. Chris took his shower, got dressed and went to Mass, which is not usually on Sunday.

I read e-mail until 11:45 then started making breakfast. At 12:30 I got dressed for church. I found a round tray and a knife for the watermelon. I carried them to the car while Chris carried my trombone. He drove us to the chapel.

We went in and I put the stuff in the kitchen. He talked to a young man playing at the keyboard. Michelle came in with two hymnals that she had spiral-bound. That made them much easier to play from. The commander and his wife came. We talked to them while Jenni and Rick came in. No SGT King, though.

Once the visiting pastor arrived, we got ready for the service. Saronna, Sophia and I played an opening hymn, then Pastor Chris started his talk. It took him most of the service to get back to the actual content of Revelation. He said a prayer, then the three of us played two closing hymns suggested by the congregation.

The commander and his wife left. We set up food in the fellowship hall. There was a vegetable tray, two kinds of chicken, my fruit watermelon, and some dessert that the pastor bought. We talked and ate. I had seconds on the chicken legs, and fruit watermelon. It was good, but the gelatin didn't stick to the rind. I guess you can't leave any watermelon behind because its too juicy.

Later we cleaned up and everybody went home. I carried the watermelon while Chris drove home. He changed his clothes while I cleaned up the extra rind and sliced it for the compost. Then I changed my clothes. I read e-mail for awhile, then went to 408 to get the leftover stuff. But Jamie had already done it. I cleaned the outside back doors, then moved more of my stuff to my car. I found my purse hanging on the inside of the door to the garage.

I went home, I watched Telegram videos until the game started. We spent a lot of time describing what our character did for three weeks of wait time. Then the DM told us what the outcomes were. He gave me a minion. So I thought about what sort of minion I might want, or would make sense. Then we played a vignette where a circus troop lost a member and we volunteered to find her. In our searching, we came upon a 10 foot spider … and the game ended due to time.

I heated tea and we watched two episodes of Andromeda. Chris went to bed and I stayed up later to read more e-mail, then I did my stretches and retired for the evening.

And I win! If you can call it that.

Saturday

I got up after 8. I watered the indoor and outdoor plants. I poured ammonia in some gopher holes. I went to the company house to start the laundry, but there wasn't any. The beds were all made like I left them last week, but there was a little garbage in the can and one of the chairs had been moved from the table. Well, it's a good day not to do laundry since there expected power outages.

I went home and got online. I read up on the next thing to do for Riven. Later I asked Chris for a massage. During the massage, Faye called, but I didn't answer. After the massage, he took his shower and then I took mine. I laid out on the back patio for a bit, then remembered Faye's call. I called her back and we talked. Nothing urgent. Then I made and ate breakfast while reading e-mail. Well, mostly. The power went out for a minutes and when it came back, the internet did not. So I worked on my blog.

When the internet came back up, I listened to a podcast on lymphatics. Around 3, I went to the company house to clean. I cleaned for almost an hour. Then I went to the swap shop to vacuum and mop. The vacuum didn't work that well. The dirt didn't make it to the dust cup. I also swept and mopped some in the room across the hall.

Then, I went to 408. I mopped all the downstairs floors. As I finished up, I heard a lawnmower and it was Jamie. I helped her pick up the tumbleweeds in the lawn so she could mow better. Then I gathered my cleaning supplies and appliances, and went home.

It was almost 6. I ate leftovers while reading e-mail, then I put on my bathing suit and went to the pool. Michelle and her family were there, as was Jenni. I swam around as we talked. I went off the diving board, but could not touch the bottom. When the lifeguard announced it was 7:45, we all got out. I gave Michelle a key. We all dried off and went home.

I changed out of my suit. I texted Michelle. I finished up my blog. Michelle invited me to come over at 9 for another game night. So I did. Casey was working on programming a string of tiny LED lights. The game was up on the TV. I had several moves planned, but the first one got unexpected results, so I was winging from there. With a little help from Michelle and the internet, I was able to open the star fissure. A video clip played of the characters thanking me and then they went back to Myst island and I found myself falling into the fissure and a voice told me I would find my way home. So ends the game.

It was 11 and I was ready to go, but we chatted a little longer about tomorrow. Then I went home. Chris was awake, reading in bed. I went through my evening routine and turned out the lights.

The investment

Friday

I got up at 8, not having slept well. I went to rinse the sprouts and they were gooey. So I went through them all and rinsed off old shells and such. I got a text from the new lady who wants to open the swap shop on Fridays. I threw on some clothes and went to open swap shop.

When I got back, I watered the outdoor plants, and fertilized them. I leveled gopher mounds and poured in some ammonia. CSM wanted a quote for cleaning so I checked the time spent on 408 and based the quote on that. I think Chris went to see the new chaplain, then was off to the office. I talked to Jamie to come up with a plan for getting the last two houses done and turned over to Housing.

I amended the loan contract and sent it to Melanie. I went cleaning: shampooed carpet on stairs somewhat, then vacuumed and collected supplies. After an hour of cleaning, I went home and made and ate breakfast Chris came back from work, and added to the grocery list. He packed the cooler and we went to Tooele. We shopped at Luckey's, then I went to Melanie's to shop and to sign the loan papers and write them a check. Then we shopped at Macey's and went back to base. I had left my ID near the computer so I did not have it at the gate. But they let us in anyway.

We went to the Commissary and got a few last things, then went home. We put the food away and Jamie came over with a gift – an electric scrubber on a long handle. She was in love with it so she bought me one. She also gave me money from the last house we turned over. She said she had taken the couch to the landfill and trimmed the yard of 628. Then we talked about her new cleaning job and how she wanted me to sign up as well.

I got online and saw an e-mail from the other lady who cleans. She wanted me to call her and sign up, too. Chris said I shouldn't sign a contract that I am not comfortable with. I.E. it has a clause about not having other employment that might conflict with an on-call status.

Then I cut the top off of a watermelon and scooped the insides out with an ice cream scoop. I washed grapes and berries. I threw them in the watermelon, and added chunks of cantaloupe and strawberries. Then I mixed gelatin in hot water to dissolve and added ice to cool it down a little. I poured it over the fruit. I put the top back on the watermelon. Chris set it in our mixer bowl and held it while we went to the chapel and put it in the fridge for Sunday. We brought back napkins and plasticware for CSM's going away party.

I got a text from CSM saying she accepts our quote and will meet us Monday for the sign-over. (It's a big house). I asked her to bring cash. I went by Michelle's house to pick up the extension cord she bought. Then I met her at the gym. She got a small stepladder from the closet and we went upstairs to plug in the cord, but she wasn't high enough. We discussed getting a bigger ladder but it was too conspicuous.

I went home to work on my blog. Then I went to her house for game night, bringing the empty water container. I played Riven while her husband hung out and Michelle did stuff on her phone. The kids had gone to bed. It was nearly 11 when I discovered a journal for Catherine (in the game). It was in cursive and hard to read. And it was long. I was determined to get through it before saving the game and leaving. Casey filled up the water container with filtered water. When I had finished reading, I saved the game and exited. We chatted just a little longer and I went home to bed.

Those are some BRIGHT lights

Thursday I got up at 7:30. I got dressed and checked e-mail while chewing on the wheatgrass I grew. Then I went outside to water the plants. I leveled some gopher mounds, too. I wrote a cleaning contract, and went to Philip's apt at 9. But no one was there. I walked to the adjacent building, but still no one. So I went to 408 to vacuum and shampoo carpets. At 10 I called Housing to ask what time his signover was, but no one answered. I left a message and kept cleaning. At 11 I called again and left a message. I stopped at 11:15 and went to Housing in person. I had to wait, and then she was surprised to hear I had called several times. Turns out the signover is at 1. I went to Self-help to see if Kary was there so I could ask for a few extra minutes. But he wasn't there. Something I swept up in the master bedroom damaged the vacuum and there was little to no suction in the hose. I took the vacuum to the swap shop to use it on the newly uncovered carpet. But I had a hard time finding an outlet that worked. There were some near the ceiling, but I couldn't reach them. When I found one, I swept as far as the vacuum could reach and made a mental note to get an extension cord. As I locked up, I got a call from CSM saying a moving van had arrived next door but had no men to unload it. She wanted me to find people. I offered to put it on Facebook. She accepted, so I went home and posted it, then called Jenni and Michelle. Both offered to go. I made breakfast and started eating it while watching The Highwire. Chris came home for lunch and when I explained about the moving truck, he quickly ate his lunch and went over to find out if this was an army move or not. I went to Philip's apt and we all signed the cleaning contract. He gave me money and promised me a key on Saturday. I went home to finish breakfast. Kary came by with LED lights and a helper. As I watched The Highwire, they replaced all the kitchen lights and the ones in the main hall. Boy, are they bright! Too bright if you ask me. Jenni called to say part of the ceiling in the swap shop fell down and was sopping wet. I send Chris an e-mail about it. After all that was over, I read some e-mail, then went to CSM's house to gather info for a quote. I checked the kitchen and bathrooms. Only the stove might be a problem. She gave me some sweet potatoes and we talked, then I went home. I texted Jamie but she did not respond. Melanie asked for a cashiers check but I told her my bank wasn't local. Then I looked high and low for the debit card that connects to the account, thinking it might be faster than a check. Chris came home from work. He cooked squash and mushrooms for me. I ate it with leftover steak. I also had some fermented cheese. I worked on my blog before I forgot what I did today. I made tea and we watched two episodes of Andromeda. Then he went to bed and I stayed up later to tap and read.

Clearing part of the swap shop

Wednesday

I got up before 7:30 to start coffee morning. I watered the outdoor plants and did the special lymph exercises. I meditated and tapped. I cleaned the bathrooms and kitchen. Then I vacuumed and took a shower. Chris came home late with the mail. There was a trombone part for a book of swing tunes, and my Swanson's order. I laid out in the sun for a bit.

At 2 I met Michelle at the gym and we walked around the block. We discussed the business loan that I want to make to Melanie's. Then it began to rain. I went home and read some e-mail. I opened a coconut and drank the juice.

I got a call from Revonna at 3:30 saying volunteers were ready. So I immediately went to the swap shop, passing a group of firemen gathered in front of the post office. I greeted them and led them to the swap shop. I opened the other room and invited them to move the boxes from the swap shop. They also moved the back-to-back shelves and the long ones up against the wall. I thanked them and they left. Then I had to crawl through the swap shop to find my purse.

I went home for a little bit, then met Michelle at the gym at 4:30 for a workout. She talked to me as I used the machines. Then we played racquetball for a few minutes. We had to return the rackets before the office closed at 5.

I went home and read e-mail. Dale sent me an amended contract. I looked up clauses to add to it. CSM sent me pics of her patio set and asked if anyone wanted it. I posted the pics to our community Facebook group. Chris got a call saying a moving truck driver ran out of hours and wanted to sleep in his cab on post. So he went over to invite the man to sleep at our house and I cleaned up the guest room and put new towels in the bathroom. But the man declined. So I offered breakfast and he declined that, too.

I worked on my blog and made tea. We watched two episodes of Andromeda. Chris went to bed and I stayed up to read articles.

Boxing and moving

Tuesday

I got up before 8. It was overcast and rained later. I did not water anything. I got dressed. I sat at my laptop and wrote a list of reasons why the swap shop should have more room. I sent it to Chris and Bcc'd the other swap shop people.

I went to 648 to finish the house. It was mostly floors that needed cleaning, and some baseboards. I took a pic of the couch in the garage, then went home and posted it on Facebook. I thought of more reasons why the swap shop should have more room. Then I went to 408 to shampoo the carpet in the living area.

When I got home, Chris was having lunch. I started making breakfast. Jenni called to say Anka called her, and said workmen had come to the swap shop this morning and asked that all the stuff under the big heater in the ceiling be moved. Yikes! I talked to Chris and he called his deputy and next thing I know, I am driving to the swap shop to meet them all.

So we walk into the swap shop and the workman explains what he needs to do, and they decide it should be done next week. So, the stuff needs to move by Monday. We investigated other unused rooms, like the one across the hall and the one down the hall. Brian asked me to choose and I chose the brighter one. But it wasn't quite available yet, so we agreed to move it across the hall for now.

I called Christina to let her know. Then I went home to finish breakfast. I started a loaf of bread. I met Michelle at the gym for walking. We walked and talked for over half an hour, then I went home. I talked to Melanie about giving her a business loan so she can buy more merchandise. I called Jenni for boxes and she said Michelle could get them from the commissary. So I got a box and went over to the swap shop. Then Michelle showed up with boxes from the commissary. We talked instead of boxing. She found two chairs and had to leave. I grabbed a box and started filling it. One box after another, stacked 3 high. But I couldn't reach everything. The clothes on hangers got hung on the other side.

I left around 5:30. I messaged Christina to get the stuff on the top shelves. I went to 408 and shampooed a bedroom carpet. I went home and found Chris cooking steaks. I read e-mail until they were ready. So good! Then I picked greens from the tower garden and made a salad.

After eating, I worked on my blog. I put the leftover steaks away. I made tea and we watched two episodes of Andromeda. Chris went to bed soon after, but I stayed up to read e-mail.

A reasonably good band session

Monday

I got up at 7:30. I got dressed and watered the outdoor plants and indoor plants, adding a little cultured whey to the water.

At 9 I went to 408 to clean. I finished the downstairs and went upstairs to work on the bathrooms. I also did bedroom windows and vacuuming. At noon I went home for breakfast. I got a call from the company that hired Jamie, asking me to sign on as an on-call cleaner. But they are only willing to pay $21/hr. Chris came home for lunch.

I ate and read e-mail. I listened to some podcasts while playing Solitaire. I went out to mow the backyard and some taller parts of the side yard. Then I met Michelle at the gym and we walked for more than 45 minutes.

I came home for supper. I had the leftovers from last night. I watched videos on fabric marbling for a possible class. Chris came home. We discussed our day and he got upset and yelled at me. I left early for the chapel.

I got out the music and put my trombone together. Dylan came with his mom and Keli came to play piano. We tried the band book, but it didn't have a good piano part, so we switched to the hymnal. That went well. Dylan's dad came to listen.

Afterward, they left and I turned off the lights and locked the door. I stood and talked to Camille for awhile. Then we all went home, bypassing where the trucks with flashing lights were.

I worked on my blog post and made tea. I asked Chris about the flashing lights, and he said it was probably a false alarm going off. I made tea and we watched two episodes of Andromeda. Later Chris went to bed and I stayed up to answer an email about which paraments I want back from the church in Huntsville.

Relaxing day

Sunday

I got up around 8. I pulled on some clothes and went outside to water. I sat down to read e-mail. Chris took a shower and went to church at 10. The priest was with the visiting troops. However very few came.

I read e-mail, he came home after Mass. At noon I made breakfast, then got dressed for church. I took my trombone and seed crackers and went the the chapel. Pastor Chris talked about the last two of the seven churches in chapter 2 of Revelation.

After the service, I played three hymns, chosen by people in the congregation (all three of them). Then we talked as we snacked, and went home. Chris was playing with the voices. I read Telegram messages. John canceled the family game. Chris gave me a massage.

I got dressed, and listened to an interview on cortisol: bad for brain and other organs, anti-cortisol substances decrease with age, people who have trouble sleeping have higher rates of all diseases, which is related to higher cortisol. Eating resistant starches is related to RLS. Also high cortisol can contribute to RLS.

We ate supper – leftover choriso patties, plus rice and mushrooms. (He didn't eat any mushrooms). I listened to podcasts, then worked on my blog post.

I made tea and we watched two episodes of Andromeda. I almost fell asleep. But we had to make up the bed with clean sheets. Then while Chris went to bed, I stayed up to catch up on the news.

Good game, bad save

Saturday

I got up at 8, got dressed and went outside to water. I went to the company house to start the sheets in the wash. When I got home, I started cutting squares for the sewing project. Chris baked chorizo patties.

At 10 we went to the community brunch at the pavilion. We were surprised that nobody was there. We sat, then I walked to the post office to check the mail. When I got back, I met a new family who got furniture from swap shop. They had food too, so I went home for paper plates and what plastic utensils I could find. When I got back, there were more people. They were eating, so I got a plate of food. I had started eating when Isadora asked to go to the swap shop. She and I walked over there and other kids followed, so I opened it for them. After a bit, Michelle joined us.

Later we went back to the pavilion. I finished my plate. I returned Shannon's container. I went to the company house to put sheets in dryer and towels in washer. On my way back, I stopped at home to get a kite. I brought it to the area by the pavilion and tried to fly it. The kids tried to fly it. I left it with them and I talked to the adults for a bit.

I went home at noon to get ready for the sewing class. I cut a bunch of 5in squares and made a split nine-patch sample. When everything was ready, I sat down to read some e-mail. Chris came home and put my sewing machine in the trunk of my car. I headed to the company house to put the towels in the dryer and the sheets on the beds. Then I went to the chapel to set up for sewing class. I accidentally locked myself out, but then found a door someone left unlocked. I made sure to unlock the other doors so people could attend the class.

I set up in the fellowship hall. Sophia came in so quietly that I didn't notice. She wanted to work on her Raggedy Ann doll whose face had split. Then her 6 yo brother came. I offered him a different project but he wanted to make the split nine-patch. And Moira wanted to make the regular one. So she sewed while I helped him sew. Mostly he stepped on the foot pedal while I guided the fabric. His father worked on mending. Isodora make a quilt square and cut up some denim. Jenni worked on her rug and had me cut more strips for her.

I missed having Tonja to help keep everyone on track. We cleaned up, and started putting things away. Then the storage door locked. So we left the rest in the hall. Isadora brought in the paper products from the brunch and we stored them in the kitchen. Then they helped me load my machine in my trunk.

I went home, had a bite to eat, and rested. I read e-mail, then went back to the house to finish cleaning. I came home, and read a book for 20 minutes or so. Then I put on my bathing suit and went to the pool. I talked to Michelle and Casey while swimming for an hour, then we all dried off and went home.

Chris took off my wet suit and I took a shower and got dressed. I wrote my blog post and went to a second game night. I brought Michelle some cheese that formed in the pantry when I wasn't looking. We agreed that it was telling that fermented cheeses from my pantry are more digestible than what is available in the stores.

I decided to use a previous save point. I re-did last night's stuff to catch up. But the thing I went so far back for, did not work. I wondered if it had to be done in a certain order. Anyway, I was pleased with my progress, but then the game froze as I tried to save it. Grrr. It was 11, so I thanked them and went home. Chris was still up, so we went to bed together.

Disappointing game night

Friday

I got up after 7:30. I made supplements for the week. I got dressed and went outside to water the plants. I also watered a gopher hole. I stripped the leaves off of the mint and threw out the stems. I went to 408 to clean. Jamie came over there with a box of personal stuff of Erin's. I finished cleaning walls and window and doors, then went home for breakfast.

I put the mint leaves in the salad spinner and covered them with water. I made and ate breakfast while reading e-mail. After breakfast, I drained the mint and spun it. I put it on the back porch to dry.

I found the right size box and packed all of Erin's stuff in it. Chris came back from work, but then he was putting a new end on my ethernet cord. So I went to the post office and mailed the box. When I got back, he packed the cooler while I texted Erin that her package was on the way.

We got in the car and drove to Tooele, listening to the latest book on CD. We shopped at Luckey's, Melanie's, Macey's, and the dollar store. Then we headed back to base. We did not stop at the commissary, but went home and put the food away. I laid down because the book practically put me to sleep. Later I got up and checked e-mail.

Chris heated the last of the fish and mushrooms. He made rice, too. I picked all the greens that needed picking. I washed them and picked out the worst for my salad. I added greens from the fridge, plus tomatoes and a carrot.

After supper, I read more e-mail. I worked on my blog. I checked my to-do list. I put the water container, eggs, and greens in the car. I looked up the next part of Riven. I filled a bottle with tea, but dropped it on the floor thinking it was inside my purse. Chris got a towel and we cleaned up the glass and liquid.

I went to Michelle's house. Casey had the game up. We chatted a little but I dug right in. Sadly my first puzzle solution did not work, even though it was what I just watched. Hmm. I went on to another one. I had trouble there, too. But I did find a door I hadn't seen before and stopped the golden globe. But I could not solve the puzzle inside.

When I got home, Chris was still up. I went to bed and he finished up his game and followed me.

Oh deer!

Thursday

I woke up to Reveille and waited for Chris to come take his shower, but he didn't, or I fell asleep. I heard the 7:35 alarm and got up. I brushed my teeth and took supplements. I watered the outdoor plants. I picked a bunch of mint that was growing outside the flowerbed.

I went to apt 212 to meet Philip for a quote. The inspectors were there doing the pre-inspection. I stayed a little later to talk. I promised to bring him vinegar and a broom since his packers had taken almost everything else.

From there, I went to 408 to clean. I worked in the kitchen and some in the dining area doors. I got a call from Tiffany C about her final inspection. After two hours of cleaning, I went home for lunch.

It was a little early, but Chris was home. I put on my suit and laid out in the sun for 10-15 minutes. He left and I came in to make breakfast and watch The Highwire. It went for 3 hours. First they interviewed people from Hawaii who said Fema and Red Cross were not helping and to donate to other organizations who are.

Then I texted with Michelle. I found a broom with dustpan and a bottle of vinegar, and took it to Philip at the library. We talked about him leaving his apt key with Melissa when he leaves for the airport.

I went to the gym to walk with Michelle. I asked her if she would visit me in jail. She said yes. I explained that I had no contract for 408 so technically when I go there to clean, it is breaking and entering. And committing a neatness.

We talked until 5 and made plans for tomorrow night. I went to Saronna's house because of a previous text to get prickly pears. But she had sent it yesterday and the pears were gone, or rather, steam-juiced. We talked for a while, then I headed home.

I distributed the bag of dog feces to various gopher holes. I washed my hands, and made a salad with greens and tomatoes. I put a piece of fish on top. I said a prayer and ate while reading e-mail. I talked to Jamie. I sent her a list of things I need her to do. I worked on my blog. I made a to-do list for myself. I read Telegram messages.

Chris came home at 9:30. He'd hit a deer with his gov't vehicle on the way back from a meeting in Tooele and had to fill out a police report. He made himself supper. I heated tea and it was 10 till we sat down to watch one episode of Andromeda. We looked up some of the guest actors. Then he went to bed and I followed.

No pie party for me

Wednesday

I got up just after the alarm. I took a dose of MMS, then got ready for coffee morning. As I did my exercises, the weasel popped up and started showing off and stopping to see if I was watching. Cute! Later when I watered outside, I saw the gopher body was gone, so maybe the weasel thought I left him a treat.

After the coffee, meditation and tapping, I cleaned the bathrooms and kitchen. I ran the dishwasher but still had to wash lots by hand. Then I laid out in the sun for awhile and read a book. It was so nice. I took a shower and vacuumed. I posted a sewing class announcement to the Housing list.

I texted the ladies about walking and only Michelle responded. She said she couldn't walk or weight train because she was attending Saronna's pie-in-the-face party. My two best friends are having a pie party and I wasn't invited? That kind of ticked me off. I put on shoes and headed to the gym. I stopped for mail, and saw the yoga lady had parked right in front of the sidewalk, and she was inside cleaning. So I said something to her about it, and picked up my mail.

I went to the gym and spoke to Tom about something the colonel left behind. He gave it to me. Then I worked out in the second weight room. Somebody took one of the machines in my circuit so I couldn't use it. Then I worked in the first weight room, skipping the one with heavy weights on it.

When I got home, I talked to Jenni, and Michelle texted me pics from the pie party. Then I read e-mail waiting for Jenni to come over, but she lost her keys. Chris came home from work. We had a discussion about the swap shop and he said he needed typed list of reasons why they should give the swap shop more room. Then Jenni came over in her bathing suit to get a box and return a book. We talked about the swap shop and she said if anyone looks in, they will understand the need for more room. Tonya thought so too. Michelle agreed to help me write a list.

I worked on my blog. I made tea and we watched two episodes of Andromeda. Not long afterward, he went to bed but I stayed up later and did some tapping videos to relax before bed.

Turning over a house

Tuesday

I got up at 7:30. I got dressed and watered the outdoor plants. Then I picked through the sunflower sprouts to get the goop out. It had to be one sprout at a time, so very tedious. Chris came home to get something and say he wouldn't be home for lunch.

I went to Housing to schedule an inspection at 2 for 603. Then I went over there to finish cleaning. I thought it was almost done, but discovered the fridge hadn't been cleaned nor the area behind it. I guess it was some other fridge that I remember cleaning.

I worked till 12:45, then went home for breakfast. I went back for inspection: it passed with caveats. I picked up dog poop in the back yard. I removed the last things in the garage. I went home for a broom and swept the shed, but the dirt was stuck to the floor.

I went home to finish breakfast. I went to Jamie's house to pick up the last key to 603 and I returned them to Housing. Then I went by the gym, but it was closed. So I went home and signed into Zoom for the quilt guild meeting. Then Chris came home and turned on the router and plugged in the modem, which threw me off the call. When the system achieved equilibrium again, I got back in and listened to the rest of the meeting. They were doing fabric postcards and I missed some of the pics.

Chris put fish in the oven to bake. After the meeting, I went outside to the tower garden to pick some greens for a salad. I washed them and ripped them and put them in a bowl with dressing and tomatoes. I put a piece of fish on top and ate that while reading e-mail.

Jenni came by for her swap shop key. We talked outside then it started to rain so we came in. I gave her some more fabric to make her rug. Chris left for a special Catholic service put on by a priest from the visiting troops. After Jenni left, I went back to listening to a podcast. I worked on my blog.

I made tea and we watched two episodes of Andromeda. Chris went to bed and I stayed up later.

Please, Ma'am, I want some more

Monday

I got up a little late. I brushed and swished and got dressed. I did lots of little things, like watering, and killing a gopher. There were other yard work type things.

I went cleaning first at Tonja's, Ethan came over to help me get something from the neighbors trash bin. The neighbor was throwing out tons of stuff. Then I went to 603 to take pics of the two couches that need new homes. I went home to post the pics on the Facebook pages, then to 408 to clean in the kitchen for 40 minutes.

I went home for breakfast. Chris was home, but left pretty as quickly. After breakfast, I went to the library because Philip wanted to ask me to clean his apartment when he leaves. We discussed that and he gave me another library shirt.

I went to 408 and cleaned for 2 hours. I talked to Jamie about moving the couches to 648. Then I went home to check Facebook and saw that Shelby wanted one of the couches. I went to 648 and cleaned while waiting for Jamie. She and her son came with the couches on a trailer. They carried them inside the garage. We talked for a bit, then they left and I went home.

I saw Shelby had messaged me on Facebook that her husband was ready to get the couch (they live three doors down from 648). So I went back. They were standing in the driveway. I opened the garage door and we talked for a bit. Jamie and I had cleaned her house and although it was uncomfortable, I asked for more money because it was a lot more work than we bargained for. They agreed to Venmo Jamie. I offered them anything they wanted from what Tonya left behind. Then I thought to ask them if they play instruments and he said he plays several. So I invited him to band tonight at 7. They walked home with the day bed.

I went home for supper. Chris cooked mushrooms and I ate them with leftover steak. Then I went to the chapel. Dylan came with a clarinet that he got from the school. We played through some of the band music. But two notes were not working for him. His mother suggested he check with his friend who plays clarinet. Then he switched to snare drum and we played some more. Then he left with his mother and I put away the music and went home.

I worked on my blog. I made tea and we watched two episodes of Andromeda. Chris went to bed soon after it was over, and I stayed to read e-mail.

Lots of yard work

Sunday

I woke up after 7 and hurt so much that I put the towel over my eyes and went back to sleep. It was an hour later that I woke up. I made myself get out of bed, really slowly. I brushed and swished, and got dressed.

I whipped up a batch of seed crackers and put them in the oven. I went outside to water the plants. I also picked up three loads of tumbleweeds with the wheelbarrow. I flattened some gopher mounds. I unpacked a bag of stuff I picked up at one of the houses to find cottonballs. I added cottonballs of ammonia to the gopher tunnels. Then I asked Chris to mow the rest of the lawn.

I brought in some under-the-counter shelving and switched it out for the wire shelves in the bathroom, intending to try them in my fridge. I listened to a talk on health. Intravenous vit C is toxic to cancer cells. He recommends lots of B3 and B12 for most people. B3 helps with alzheimers.

I made and ate breakfast, then washed off and got dressed for church. I took cheese squares and some seed crackers and my trombone to the chapel. I put out just the cheese squares. I assembled my trombone and warmed up. Then I talked to Sgt King. He mentioned the man who left without cleaning his house. He thanked me for being willing to clean it because otherwise, the house would be considered abandoned and the really expensive cleaning team would charge him $1500 to $3000.

When the pastor and a few people had gathered, I went up front for the service. We sang a praise song, and Pastor Chris talked about the second book of Revelation. Then we sang two hymns and had snack. Jenni was asking me for more colors of strips for her rug that she started last week. Shawn carried the snack and trombone out to my car for me.

When I got home, I parked across the street because Chris was mowing the lawn. It would be easier for him to put the mower back in the garage without my car there. I went inside and changed clothes. I ate the slice of jackfruit we bought yesterday and a few other things.

Chris came in to get his wallet to buy more gas for the mower, then he finished mowing. I went outside to finish mowing the back yard with my little mower. Then I used the broom to sweep off the porches and sidewalks.

I searched online for a shelf or shelf substitute for my new fridge, but everything seemed unusually expensive. I worked on my blog. I went to see a lady who wants to donate a box of fabric to the sewing group. We had a nice chat and she agreed to play piano for the music group. Then I went to the garden to spray fertilizer. I did Christina's garden too. I also put lactobaccilis on mine.

I made tea and we watched two episodes of Andromeda. Chris went to bed and I stayed up till after 11 reading e-mail.

Am I my husband's keeper?

Saturday

I got up after 8, with my ears ringing loudly. I got dressed and watered all the outdoor plants. I even sprayed fertilizer on some of them. Then I went to the company house to throw the sheets in the washer and to clean. Only one bed had been slept in. I spent half an hour, then went home briefly and went to 408 to put vinegar-soaked paper towels in the toilets and on one of the tubs. I went through the left-behind stuff.

I came home, and Chris gave me a coconut oil massage. We each took a shower, then I went back to the company house to throw the sheets in the dryer. I made breakfast and ate it while reading e-mail.

It was almost 3 when I unlocked swap shop for Jenni and went to 648 for 90 minutes. I had to get supplies from 603. CSM called looking for Chris. I said I'd call him. He didn't answer so I left a message, then went back to cleaning. She texted to see if I had done it. Shannon texted, too. So finally I stopped cleaning and drove home to find him. Chris was on the phone, having just gotten the messages. Seething, I went back to cleaning.

I scrubbed the gray marks in the toilet, then concentrated on floors and ceiling fans. Then I swept the stairs. I quit at 6 to go home for supper. I had steak and quinoa. Then I put on my suit and went to the pool, arriving just as Michelle and her family did. I swam around and talked to Casey and Michelle for an hour. He said he's going to the meteor shower at 10.

Wrapped in a towel, I went home, stopping at the swap shop to lock it. I changed into dry clothes, and worked on my blog. Then I made tea and we watched two episodes of Andromeda. I put away my laundry and we dressed the bed in clean sheets. Chris went to bed, and I didn't stay up much later.

Another set of loaner linens

Friday

I got up in a hurry and got dressed. I went to the gym to meet Michelle and Shannon. We walked almost 2 miles around the neighborhoods. They wanted to keep going, but I had stuff to do, so I left. I went home for something, then went to 603 to clean for two hours. I did most of the floors and the two bedrooms upstairs. Michelle kept texting me about sheets and stuff for people arriving today because Chris asked for them.

I went home for breakfast. Chris had come back from work. He was waiting for the sheets to be done and around 3 got fed up. I said we had two sets in the guest room. One of them had holes so we got a set from our closet. I took down the shower curtain from the hall bathroom and got some towels from the closet. To the pile, we added two pillows and cases.

Chris packed the cooler and we went to Housing. We sat there until a man drove up. Chris handed him all the linens. Then we went to Tooele, listening to a new book on CD. We shopped at the usual places. I went to Melanie's and talked to Sophia.

When we got back to base, we shopped at the commissary. When we got home, we put away the groceries. While I mowed the back yard, Chris cooked me a steak and heated potatoes and quinoa to go with it. Then he went to the office.

I finished supper and looked into getting another shelf with sliding drawer for the fridge. But the two together would be $100. Even on Ebay I could not get something cheaper. I looked at clear plastic bins online and found some smaller than I wanted.

I worked on my blog. I got ready for game night. I put some fermented cheese in a container for Michelle. I got the water container and the frozen eggs. I went to their house and dropped everything off. Then I had to make a quick stop at Christina's house to pick up cucumbers. I returned to Michelle's house and we talked a bit while Casey loaded the game. I played the parts I had looked up and found new rooms and gadgets.

I could have kept going, but it was after 11. Michelle had ordered me a pair of new shoes and footies. So I tried them on and they were great. I gave her enough cash to cover it. Then I took the water container and the bag of freeze-dried mint and went home. Chris was asleep so I did my stretches and went to bed (forgetting to unplug the router).

Jenni went to the hospital

Thursday

I got up before 8. I watered the outdoor plants. I was hunting a gopher when the men came with the new door. As they worked on taking out the old one, I read e-mail. I got a phone call for clearing a house after the occupant had moved. I wanted to go look at it, but the men said I had to be there while they worked. Then I mowed the front and side yards.

At noon I came in to prepare breakfast and watch The Highwire: twice as much fetal human antigen as vericella antigen in the Verivax.

After Highwire finished, they were still here. They finally left at 3:40. I went to Housing to find out what was up with the guy, then went to see the house. It was mostly clean, with cleaning supplies left in the garage. I went back to Housing to find that the head of Housing wasn't there.

I went to 603, but just then Jenni called to say she was having an attack. I ran to swap shop, arriving just as Michelle and EMS did. She seemed awake but quietly sitting on the floor. EMS put her in a chair, wheeled her to the ambulance and laid her back. I talked to Michelle as we watched.

Later, I went to Tonja's house for vinegar and paper towels, then back 603 for 1 hour of cleaning. On my way home, I stopped at the garden. My timer was full of wasps. Odd. Jamie met me at 408 and we toured the house together. She suggested $500 to do the house and yard. She saw dirt that I hadn't.

I came home and talked to Chris. Michelle called to say she spent time with Shannon. I finished my conversation with Chris. I texted the man our quote of $500. He sent me a link to his Venmo account. I forwarded it to Jamie and she said it went through right away. We don't have a signed contract, but I figured the payment was good enough.

I read e-mail while eating supper and working on my blog. Then I made tea and we watched two episodes of Andromeda. Jenni texted me coming back from the hospital. Soon after, Chris went to bed and I stayed up to catch up on e-mail (although I never quite do).

Good bye, Tonja

Wednesday

I woke up early hearing Chris. I draped a towel over my eyes and went back to sleep. I got up around 7:30. I took the first dose of MMS at 7:40, and every hour after that. I started coffee morning. I read a book while waiting for supplements to kick in. I also quickly watered some plants on the front porch.

At 10:50 I filled out a cleaning contract and went to Tonja's house. The inspectors were there. We signed the contract and he gave me keys and a garage door opener. He also gave me the $100 we agreed on. After the inspectors left, he gave me more cash and said the inspectors told him that the house would pass inspection as is. Then why...? He said they wanted it cleaned properly.

He showed me the stuff meant for the swap shop. I talked to Tonja for some time. Then they had to go gas up. After they left, I put 30% vinegar in the toilets and went home.

I finished coffee morning and cleaned the kitchen and bathrooms. I did some vacuuming and mopping. CJ came by with eggs. I took a shower and put on shorts and a t-shirt. I scrubbed some burner bowls that had been sitting in ammonia over night. The small ones came clean but the larger ones did not. I put those back in the ammonia. I got out some ice cube trays and beat 14 eggs (not all at once). I poured the mix into the trays and put them in the freeer.

I scooped some tiny curds from the fermenting milk for Michelle. Then I met her at the gym. We walked the track upstairs. Tiffany joined us. Then we worked out in the weight room. Afterward, we sat outside and talked. She encouraged me to get bloodwork done because I have gained some weight and I don't know why.

We went home. I stopped at the post office to find only one piece of mail. Chris was not home yet. I was really hungry so I ate some celery that needed eating. Chris came home briefly, then went to Mass. I worked on my blog. I watched an episode from a health series. Chris came back from Mass and changed his clothes. He moved the mower out of the garage to make room for the work to be done tomorrow.

I read e-mail until it was time to make tea. We watched two episodes of Andromeda. I had to wrap up in a blanket because I was so cold. Then we brushed our teeth. Chris set out a suit for tomorrow, and he went to bed.

Pictures with Tonja

Tuesday

I woke up after 7:30. After getting dressed, etc, I made laundry soap on the stove: both for us and for the company house. Then I went outside to water the plants. Jamie came for her share of the cash.

At 10 I took some supplies and went to Tonja's house. It did not look like they were going to be done cleaning by their 1pm appt. I helped them by cleaning walls, and a window and the stove and fridge. They put swap shop stuff in my trunk around noon and I went home for breakfast. I read e-mail.

At 2, I went to Saronna's house. I also returned her cooler. We played music and talked to her husband (who goes back to work in 2 weeks). She returned the rest of my pickled green onions.

I went home to drop off said pickled onions and my trombone. I met Michelle at the gym, and we walked for over an hour. I listened to her talk about the conversation she had this morning at the chapel. Afterward, I went home for a bite to eat and read e-mail. Then at 6 I went to bldg 5140 for a quote.

I went home for the rest of supper. Ladies started texting about meeting at the swap shop for a picture with Tonja before she leaves. I worked on blog for yesterday and today. I went outside to pick up tumbleweeds, and rake over gopher mounds. Then at 8:30 I went to the swap shop. Michelle and Tonja and Christina were there. Michelle took some pics for Tonja who is leaving. Tonja said they'd like to sign a cleaning contract because they won't be ready by 11 tomorrow. 15 minutes later, Shiloh still wasn't there, so I went home.

I made tea and we watched one episode of Andromeda. We paused it when Michelle came over to ask Chris a question. She also told me that Shiloh showed up 10 minutes after I left. Then we finished the episode and Chris went to bed. I stayed up to read e-mail and generally catch up.

Swapping the old fridge for a new one

Monday

I woke up at 7:30. I got up soon and checked my phone for messages from Base Maintenance about replacing the fridge. I brushed and swished and watered the plants. Then I called Base Maintenance and there was no answer. I left a message. I called the lady from last night and there was no answer either. So I drove over to Housing. I called Jamie to see if she was done with 607 and she said the floors needed touchup. So I scheduled the inspection for this afternoon. Then I asked about the new fridge. One lady said it would be tomorrow before they could do something. Then the other lady said she would call someone and let me know.

I went home and got some floor cleaning supplies. On my way to 607, Suzi called to say the man was going to call me. So I went home. I cleared the main hallway as much as possible. I moved my car to the other side of the driveway. A man did call, and said he could be here in half an hour. So, believing him, I pulled all the magnets off the fridge, and the stuff on top. I emptied all the contents of the freezer (mostly coffee and bags of beans), and then the fridge. There was a lot (and that's after not buying groceries this weekend). A bunch of it was bottled beer and beverages.

Anyway, I wiped out the bins and shelves and waited. I got online to pass the time and wondered if my food was still good. An hour later, I called again. He said they were headed toward my house. I looked down the street and saw them. They parked in my driveway and proceeded to try to get the fridge off of the truck. Once done, they took the spring off of the screen door. They came inside to get the old fridge out, but it was bolted to the wall in the center of the back. They cut the wire and brought it forward, then handled the water line.

All in all, it took a hour to get the new one installed and put the old one on the truck. They left me with the manual. It said to allow 24 hours to reach the factory default temps. The current temp was 76, hotter than my kitchen. I got some frozen tea to put on top of the bacon, and left everything else out.

I made and ate breakfast, then went to 607 to spot clean the floors. Michelle was texting me over and over with pics of shoes and footies for sale. I spent about an hour cleaning and removing my cleaners, etc from the house. I left the cleaners at 603, and bagged the lefover stuff from the 603 fridge and went to Saronna's house. She said she could use or pass on all the items.

Then I went home to eat the last of my pistachios. I went back to 607 at 3 for the inspection, which I passed. I signed the papers and went to Housing, then remembered the keys at home. So I went home to get the keys and turned them in along with the garage remote.

I was going to walk with Michelle, but she cancelled, so I read e-mail until Chris came home. We dropped my trombone off at the chapel and went to the commissary for groceries. We talked to the manager about organic produce.

When we got home, we had a bite to eat, then went to the Community meeting at the gym. It did not last quite as long as I thought. We discussed all sorts of activities.

Then I went home with Chris, got in my car, and drove back to the chapel for band. Saronna, Karen, Sophia and Dylan came. So we had flute, string bass, djimbe, snare drum, and trombone. Since I gave the trombone part to Saronna, I played from the score and that was a little tricky. But we had a good time.

It was after 8 when I got home. Time to divvy up the money. I figured out the total number of hours and divided into $900. By adding 11 minutes to my time, it came out to an even $38/hour. About twice what we usually get. I put Jamie's share in an envelope. I texted her and she said she'd get it later.

Chris had been doing laundry since he got home. So we folded the clothes and put them away. Then I made tea and we watched two episodes of Andromeda. Chris got a suit ready for tomorrow, and went to bed. I stayed up to read e-mail, then retired for the night.

The problem with power

Sunday

I did not sleep well so I slept late. I got up after 8. There was no power. I texted Chris about it, then brushed and swished. He wrote back later that the power should be on by 11 and if it gets too hot, I can go to ACS. I replied that the info should go out over the giant voice system. He said it doesn't work when the power is out. My reply: The emergency notification system doesn't work in an emergency?

So, I filled a spray bottle with kelp water and fertilized some of the outdoor plants. Then I went to the garden to spray those, too. My corn is short, but tasseled, so I am not expecting ears. I checked the watering system. I pulled some weeds. I picked an armload of mint stalks, put them in my trunk and went home.

I watered the plants in front and back, some with rainwater. Then I sat in the yard and shucked leaves from the mint stalks. I took all the leaves off the easy ones and saved them in large bowls. The harder ones I saved for later.

I came in and made breakfast. I ate it while reading e-mail. Then at 12:40 I threw on a dress and earrings. I put some cheese squares in a container and grabbed my trombone. I headed for the chapel.

I parked and went inside. I left the snack on the back table and unpacked my trombone up front. Michelle came and then Saronna and Sophia, and then Shawn. The young preacher man was talking about his newborn baby.

When the service started, we sang two songs. Then he preached about Paul writing to the church at Philipi. Afterward, Saronna, Sophia and I played two hyms. Then there was general conversation. Michelle asked Sgt King to tell the visiting troops about church. We had snack and the men left while the ladies talked.

When I got home, I ate some cheese squares with pickled stuff. I read e-mail and listened to something while I striped the branching stems of mint and then simmered them on the stove. I washed the two tubs of leaves and spun them dry.

I packed those in a bag and headed to Michelle's house. I stopped at the pool to pick up my watch. Then I arrived at her place. I gave her the leaves to freeze-dry. We talked for a little bit, then I went home. I ate a chicken leg with some pickled olives, etc.

I noticed water on the floor around the fridge. The freezer was out again! I texted Chris. He said to check the breaker box, which I did, but the fridge had been making normal sounds all afternoon. I flipped it's breaker off and back on. While I waited to see if it started freezing again, I went out to the car and vacuumed everything I could reach without emptying the car. Then I got a small tub of water and washed the plastic parts, and then the door wells, etc.

When I checked the freezer, it was still not frozen. I called the base maintenance number. They took my info and promised to pass it on. I ate the formerly frozen bag of raspberries while watching sequences from a Riven walkthrough. Suzi called about the freezer and promised to send the on-call person. I resumed the walk-through and paused it again when the doorbell rang. The guy checked the freezer and confirmed that it wasn't working. After he left, I resumed the sequence, pausing it before too many spoilers. I worked on my blog. After posting for Saturday, I realized that I had never posted for Wednesday, so I attached it to the Tuesday blog post.

Then it was time for bed.

Cleaning and making rugs

Saturday

I got up late. I watered the plants, then went to the company house to start the laundry. I found three sets of sheets and towels in the washer PLUS a full duvet stuffed inside and all of it wet. I put the duvet in the dryer. I looked around for any remaining towels and put that in with the sheets and washed them again.

I went to 603 to clean for 90 minutes. The kitchen wasn't bad so I got all the cabinets done and most of the stove. I went back to the company house to put the sheets in dryer, I pulled out the duvet which was still damp and ripped.

I went home to pull fabrics for class and to cut strips. I started braiding a sample. It was almost one when I made breakfast. I ate while reading e-mail. Then I packed up the fabrics and the usual stuff and threw them in the car. I took it all to the chapel and moved it to the fellowship hall.

There wasn't time to go by the company house to make sure the sheets were dry. So I cut more strips while waiting for people to come. Eventually Jenni and Isadora showed up. They picked their colors and I cut strips for them while they braided. When they had a good braid going, I showed them how to wind it around and sew it down to make a rug. They were both excited about their projects.

At 4 I started packing up. Jenni helped. Then I went to the company house to check the sheets. Some were dry but due to tangles, some were still wet. I spent 25min making the beds and re-drying the sheets. While the towels tumbled, I went home for supper and to clean the bottom of the fridge. Then I went back to the company house to clean the kitchen and bathrooms and give the floors a quick wipe.

I went home and put on my suit. I got my clock and went to the pool. Casey and the kids were there. We chatted a bit. After they left, I swam laps. The lifeguard let me know when it was 7:45 because my clock stopped when I set it down at 6:50. I got out, dried off and went home. I changed clothes. I met Jerry in the front yard and gave him the blanket and coffee filters for the loaner bin.

I decanted what became kefir, and took a shower and put on clean clothes. I texted Chris and Jamie, and wrote my blog post. I looked up some Riven hints. I took some kefir to game night. I gave it to Michelle. She said Casey bought more Myst sequels to keep me busy. Casey helped me play so it was very interesting. The kids wanted to stay up and watch a little. One of the hints I looked up didn't work and I wondered what I missed. But another one did, and that was good. We explored some new territory and ran into things we couldn't solve.

It was after 11 when I saved and shut down the game. I thanked them and went home. I got ready for bed, hoping for a good night's sleep.

Packing a loaner basket

Friday

I got up soon after 7, with two fingers and my thumb numb. It took some time and swinging my arms to get the feeling back. I took supplements, and swished. I got dressed and checked on my plants. They all seemed hydrated from the rain.

I went to 603 to drop off cleaning supplies stored in my trunk. The commander and his wife were walking down the street and waved to me. I rinsed the filters soaking in ammonia water and gave them fresh water to soak in.

I went home and started pulling out spare kitchen utensils to create a loaner basket. I also went to the swap shop to see what they had. I came back with plates and a coffee maker., a shower curtain and two candles. I plugged it in to make sure it worked. I put water in the sink and washed all the things for the loaner basket. I also washed a bin from the garage to put the stuff in. I found a towel and washcloth that kind of matched. I soaked the shower curtain and toilet brush in bleach, then washed the curtain.

Jerry rang my doorbell and I gave him the tub of stuff plus two bathroom-size garbage cans and a kitchen-size bin with a broom and swiffer mop. I asked if he needed sheets and he said yes. So after he left, I went to the shed next to Michelle, and picked out two sets of sheets, plus a pillow in a case and a blanket and a mattress pad. I came home and threw the sheets in the washer.

I made and ate breakfast and checked e-mail. When the sheets were done, I discovered one fitted sheet was stained. So I texted Jerry to come over to get the unstained set plus the utensils that I forgot the first time. He did. However, I forgot to give him the blanket and mattress pad. Sigh.

Michelle wanted to go walking, so I met her at the gym. She had her dog and was talking to firefighters about Isadora's seizures. Then we walked the track for some time while she talked about her meeting with the colonel. The dog needed to go out, so we sat outside for awhile, then went to see the apple and pear trees. Unsurprisingly they were not ripe.

I went home to make cheese squares. I preheated the oven, beat the eggs and added the cheese. I nearly cooked what was stored in the oven, but rescued them just in time. While they baked, I cleaned the fridge. I pulled out things from the back that were unidentifiable. Some things I ate and some things I threw away. Some things I left for tomorrow. Then I drank a can of fizzy water and checked e-mail.

I worked on my blog and got ready for game night. I read about Riven. Jamie texted that she hadn't finished cleaning the bathrooms at 607 today because she was sick. It doesn't surprise me with how hard she worked this week.

I took the nut cheese and water container and went to Michelle's house. Her husband helped me play Riven, which made it more fun. Around 11, I realized I needed to read more about it. He carried the water out to my car and I drove home and got ready for bed.

Power out, again.

Thursday

I got up late. I brushed and swished. I made up a week's worth of supplements. Then I called Brian Peterson but spoke with Revonna, who promised to give him a message after his call. I put out the bathroom trash, and posted the blog which I forgot last night. I went to the post office for a package, then went to 607 for two hours to mop floors. On the way home, I dropped two buckets of supplies off at 603, our next house. I put the range filters in hot ammonia water to soak the grease out.

I made and ate breakfast while watching The Highwire. Then I read Telegram messages before settling in to finding a project for Saturday. I went through all my monthly picture files and collated all the sewing ideas memorialized there. I wrote down a list of possibilities and narrowed it down to the braided rug. The power went out, and later came back on. But the internet did not come back. Finally I called Chris and he said to check the breaker box. So I did and yes, breaker 10 was partially flipped. So I turned it off and back on. In a few minutes, the internet was back up.

I called Jamie to catch up on her new cleaning job and to find out if we can schedule 607 to be inspected on Monday. When she called back, she said she'd finish the bathrooms tomorrow. But by then Housing was closed.

I took a pic of my braided rug and posted it as a sewing project to the Dugway Facebook pages. Then I worked on my blog. I blended the soaked nuts with whey and made seed cheese. I put it in the cool oven to ferment.

What is this?

I called Jenni around 7. She was doing ok. I asked if she wanted some food from the fridge at 603 and she said yes. So I went over there, and was surprised to see someone in the driveway. So I proceeded to 607 to pick more cleaning supplies and there was a vehicle in that driveway too. I parked behind it and went inside to collect my stuff. When I came out, a man was driving up and promised to move the vehicle. So I moved my car and he moved his. I parked in the garage and loaded the stuff in my trunk.

I drove over to 603 and now Jenni was parked in the driveway. I let her into the house. She went through the fridge and freezer and took some stuff. There were also some drygoods and she took a few. Then she drove over to 607 and I walked over to meet her there. She got some leftover stuff from the kitchen. As she did, Revonna called to say that someone new was coming in tomorrow and needed loaner stuff like from the swap shop. I said I would get some stuff together.

After Jenni left, I mopped the utility room floor. Then I walked back to 603. I got some specialty mustards and ice cream from the freezer and went home. When I went in, I discovered that the power was off. The ice cream was for Chris but I HAD to eat it so it wouldn't go bad. (That's my story and I'm sticking to it.) I lit some candles and texted people to find out if they had power and if they needed candles. After awhile, the power came back on. I checked the breaker panel and flipped about 3 or 4 breakers to reset, then waited for the internet to come back up.

I blew out the candles and started checking e-mail. I listened to some videos while playing Solitaire. I drank tea all evening to hydrate before bed. It rained again. It was after 11 when I finally turned off the computer and started the bedtime routine.

A missed opportunity AND the milk that wouldn't cheese

Tuesday

I got up at 8am. I pulled a greasy dish from the oven and wiped the grease out, then filled it with soapy water. I watered a little outside. I wrote up an invoice for company cleaning in July. Then it rained.

At 9:30 I went to 607 to clean for 2h. I finished the downstairs. I went home for breakfast. Brittany to say the club had to throw out frozen food, but it was nicely packaged in boxes. I wasn't tall enough to go get it, so I called Jenni. But she was out in town. Chris came home for lunch and heard the conversation. He told me to stay out of it.

I listened to some videos. Saronna texted that she was out in town too and would not be able to attend sewing this weekend. I went cleaning again around 2:30. I noticed that the garage to 603 was open. It's our next house to clean. I went in to look around, then grabbed stuff from the fridge and shut the garage door. I cleaned at 607 for 2h+, working upstairs and mopping floors. I grabbed the stuff back from fridge and came home.

I ate leftover steak, and potatoes. I readied the leftover milk for fermenting. Chris came home. He saw the weasel and suggested I leave out a bowl of water for it.

I worked on my blog, and heated tea. We watched two episodes of Andromeda. Chris gathered the stuff for his trip. He kissed me and headed out for SLC and his red-eye flight.

I read e-mail and listened to a long discussion of cell salts and the astrological chart. Chris texted me when he got to the airport. I continued listening and playing solitaire. Then I got ready for bed.

THE MILK THAT WOULDN'T CHEESE

Wednesday

I got up as my alarm went off. I started coffee morning. I went outside to water and found glistening transparent globs on the back porch. They were re-hydrated crystals. I gathered them up as best I could since the dehydrated ones are sharp on the feet.

I made coffee, then meditated and tapped and prayed. I cleaned the bathrooms and kitchen. I added some goat milk to the LAB, and soaked some cashews and sunflower seeds. People came over to inspect the door repair. They said Chris called about it. They took pics and left. They came back later with Collie and he said they'd fix it in a nicer way.

After they left, I finished washing dishes. I did some mopping and vacuuming. The vacuum wasn't doing a good job so I looked up videos online to diagnose the problem. I cleaned two of the filters.

I met Michelle at the gym at 4:30. I told her I needed to work on my vacuum-lifting muscles. I used the machines she indicated. We talked about her recent trip and her previous trip. We chatted outside the gym, then kids arrived and she went to the pool to watch them.

I went to the library to drop off the book on CD and pick up a new one. I chose two new ones. The librarian offered me prizes for the reading project. I chose the tote bag and a highlighter.

Then I went to the post office to get our mail. I looked in the swap shop to see if anything new came in. I heard someone next door, and went to see the lady who is prepping the space for a yoga studio. We chatted and I saw there was leftover stuff that had no place to go. I said I'd look into it.

I went home. I called Chris. He said to contact his deputy tomorrow. I vacuumed the carpeted areas of the house, and then took a shower. I put away dry dishes and got out the big pot. I poured in the goat milk and heated it. While waiting, I went through all the sunflower sprouts, picking out the good sprouts and leaving the detritus.

The milk would not quite get to 180. Thinking maybe it didn't matter, I added the vinegar and waited for curds, but they did not appear. I worked on my blog. I went to the garden to fertilize. All the corn was bigger, but it had tasseled without growing any ears. When I got home, the milk still hadn't cheesed. I tried adding more vinegar but that didn't work. I skimmed some off and added leftover milk and whipping cream. Then I put some probiotics in it and left it in the oven overnight. I added some whey from a previous batch to the cheese and crossed my fingers that what wouldn't curdle into cheese, could still ferment into cheese. I read e-mail for a bit, then got ready for bed. I needed a blanket because I was cold from not eating today.
