Thanksgiving

Thursday

It wasn't a great night, but no RLS. I got up at 8. I took supplements and read online. I wasn't feeling great. I got dressed for the turkey trot. But then I decided I shouldn't go. I put on a recurring one minute timer while I sipped vitamin C water and watched craft videos that Faye sent. Chris went to the event and was back in half an hour. He said only a handful of people came.

He had Michele with him. But then they both left. He took a set of glasses to the Popkens who were having company. I guess he dropped her off at home. He cleared his stuff from the diningroom table, so then I cleared mine. He made up some pecan pies and put them in the oven. I fed the starter, but it seemed to be too late. I threw regular yeast and the other ingredients in the bread machine. I used whey as the liquid.

I watered the plants. I listened to a podcast. The bread wasn't rising. I figured out that the whey had too much vinegar in it. I meant to use the sweet one. The starter wasn't rising either, so I mixed some of the starter with yeast and let it bubble. Then I threw that in the bread machine and let it mix again.

I read e-mail. I walked to the post office to get the mail. Michele and John drove up as I left. Of course they did. When I got back, Chris was finishing up the broccoli and we sat down to Thanksgiving dinner.

We conversed as we ate Cornish hen, broccoli, stuffing, and mushrooms. Later I checked on the bread and noted it had finally risen. John's rejoinder was 'it is risen indeed'. I made it into rolls and put them in a warm oven to rise.

Chris, John and Michele watched Legend. I listened to podcasts and read articles to clear my e-mail. After the movie, John collected all the glass bottles that we have been saving for him in a very full garbage bag. Then they went home.

I made tea and we watched one episode of Criminal Minds. Then I worked on my blog and went to bed.

Thanksgiving Eve service

Wednesday

I got up at 7:30. I got a slow start to the morning and I don't remember why. Part of it was watching a video Faye sent and responding to it, then looking up a segment of a show that dealt with the same topic so I could send her the link I promised.

Then I exercised, drybrushed, meditated and tapped. Later I cleaned the kitchen and bathrooms. I washed dishes, vacuumed and mopped. I read outside for awhile. I cut up bacon and made cheese squares. I checked e-mail. I finalized an AllStar order and worked on the Swanson one.

I realized it was late, so I jumped in the shower, then put on a black dress and shoes. I bundled up the cheese squares and a water bottle. I went to the chapel 'cause we were told to be there at 5.

Only a few people were there, not enough to start practice. However, as I talked to who was there and got my instrument assembled, others began to arrive. But it was 45 minutes later till we started going through the routine of the evening. We discovered that my copy of Amazing Grace was in the wrong key. So we had to make a copy from the hymnal, which was spread over two pages. Rick went home and did it, then brought me the copy. However, it wasn't any larger than in the hymn book.

Chris arrived around 6, but it didn't start till 6:30. We talked to people. Chris introduced Michele and John to John and his wife. I drank from my water bottle. The chapel filled up with people.

Then the service started. It was fairly simple, but with lots of us going up to play and coming back to sit in the front row. Readings and songs. Then people were invited to say what they were thankful for. Then the last song and we were done.

Well, except for the fellowship hall and the food. People lined up to eat. I wandered here and there, talking, or wondering what to do next. I found the easels in the sewing room. I closed the door so the sewing stuff would be undisturbed. But the door locked. I asked around and only Bryce could find the key. He opened it for me.

There was more talking and waiting around. I got really tired, but wasn't leaving until I could rescue my cheese squares. Finally Bryce came out and handed them to me. So then I put my Sunday music on the stand, and took the rest home, leaving my trombone there.

When I got home, I put the remaining cheese squares in the fridge. I fed the starter. I worked on my blog. I made tea and we watched one episode of Criminal Minds. Chris went to bed but I looked at Christmas carols in one octave for handbells.

File recovery

Tuesday

I got up at 7:30 with a sore throat. I sat in the morning light to read for awhile. Later I took supplements and skipped exercise and practice. I tied up some loose ends. I went to 111 to clean for 2h. I called John but he said he couldn't come till afternoon.
I went home to make and eat breakfast.

At 2, I stopped at the post office, then went to the chapel to pick up my music. Then I proceeded to Saronna's house to practice hymns and Christmas music. She gave me a pint of apple-pear sauce.

By 3:30, I was back at 111 to clean. John came over for a few minutes to move the furniture back into place. I finished walls and floors and started on the bathroom. Jamie called to say that they are moving to Germany in January. Yikes!

At 5:30, I went home. I heated up supper in the toaster oven. I checked e-mail. Chris came home from work. My laptop rebooted yesterday and lost three weeks of notes. I couldn't find the solution I used last time. I spent an hour or more trying to recreate work and service hours from past blog posts. Then I found the backup address, right under my nose. And there it all was. Whew! I checked to see how accurate my estimates were, and not so great. BTW, the address is: C:Users\(username)\AppData\Roaming\OpenOffice\4\user\backup.

It kind of makes you wonder why it doesn't pull that file when you ask to recover the file.  Instead, I get one that is weeks or months old.

Then I worked on my blog, posting for yesterday and jotting notes for today.  I made tea and we watched one episode of Criminal Minds.  Then we read for awhile and went to bed.

Last practice before Thanksgiving eve

Monday

I got up at 7:30. I took supplements and brushed my teeth. I watered the plants. I brought in the milk and eggs delivered this morning. I hardboiled two batches. I made and ate egg salad. I played through the Christmas music and sent the list of songs to Keli. I heated up half of the milk and put it in the dehydrator. I heated the other half on the stove, then added vinegar.

I went to 111 to clean. John showed up at 11 and worked till noon, cleaning the oven and windowsills and moving furniture. I vacuumed where the furniture used to bed.

I went home at 12:15ish. I ate fiber gel and read outside. Then I made and ate breakfast while reading e-mail. I scooped the curds for the vinegar cheese.

At 3, I went back to the apartment. I cleaned until 4:45, making a total of 4 hours for the day. I went home to finish off the fiber gel and heat up supper. I scooped the curds for the rennet cheese. I ate supper, then took the new hymns and went to the chapel for band.

I showed the hymns to Keli, then went back to my spot. I announced the numbers and we played through two that were in the same key. Then Rod took over rehearsing for Thursday night. There was a lot of standing around. We played through those hymns twice. There were two other hymns that we sang. But at the end of the rehearsal, Rick said it sounded so much better when we were playing along. So I asked Keli to text me the numbers.

Everyone left except Michelle. She talked about what was bothering her. At length. There seemed to be no talking her out of it or offering another perspective. But we did resolve to take some funny pics together at some place called Sheels.

It was after 8:30 when I got home. I made tea with vitamin C in it and we watched one episode of Criminal Minds. Then we read on our laptops. I started an order for supplements that were running out. I nearly went to bed when I realized I hadn't posted to my blog. So I drank C, posted, and went to bed.

My first 3-D snowflake

Sunday

I slept in late. I had left the blinds open so I wouldn't have to get up for the plants. When I did get up, I took supplements, exercised, and serenaded the plants with Christmas music. They seem to like it. As the cherry tomatoes ripen, its like they are decorating themselves for Christmas. And then I pick and eat the decorations.

I read e-mail, etc for awhile. Then Chris gave me a massage. As he took his shower, I made and ate fiber gel. Then I worked on my linen nightgown. Finally I washed up and made breakfast. After eating, I got dressed. I took the cheese squares and went to church.

We sang three praise songs. There was prayer and scripture. He gave a sermon on fellowship and the band played two hymns. I asked if he was speaking about 'service' next week, but he said he wouldn't be here.

I went home and changed clothes. We folded laundry. I worked more on my nightgown, sewing the major seams and working on binding. I even sat outside and slipstitched for awhile. When I came in, Chris was working on supper. We ate. I read until 5 then signed into Discord for the game. We chatted with James and Becca for 25 minutes. Then I called Michele to find out why they hadn't signed in. She was sick. So after I got off the phone with her, I called John. He hadn't realized what time it was. But since Michele was sick, the game was called off.

I read e-mail. I finished the 3D snowflake. I tried to text to the band group. But my phone said it could only text 10 people at a time. So I called Michelle and she did it. We talked for a bit, then we both had to run. I got ready for practice and took the snowflake to the chapel.

When I got there, others were ahead of me. We got the bells table trimmed and set up. The bell players arrived. I subbed for Michele. We got in some practice while Rod was setting everyone else up. Then we played with the whole group. Rod made a nook for two girls to sit and read some verses. He had us line up in the hallway and troop in on que. It felt more like production than worship.

After a little more than an hour, he dismissed us. I stayed to make sure everything got put away and to answer questions. Then I went home. I spent over an hour finding some hymns about service, scanning them, cleaning up the scans and printing them out. Then I sat down to write my blog post before going to bed.

Not my kind of music

 Saturday

I tried to sleep in, but got up around 8. Chris was still home, but soon took a shower and went to church. I did the usual first things. I think the plants like when I play trombone.

I made a week's worth of supplements and noted those that were running out. I read e-mail and messages for awhile.

At 10:30 I went to the swap shop to open it for someone donating tires. But Tarah was already there, filling boxes with clothing for the D.I. I talked to him a bit and then to her. By the time I got home, it was 11. Chris asked if he could give me a massage tomorrow instead.

So I took a shower and got dressed. I ate fiber gel and read outside. Then I made and ate breakfast. I looked at scoodie videos, hoping to find one that used half a yard or less per scoodie. Watched part of a Rama walkthrough.

I went cleaning about 3:15. I cleaned until 5, then came home to change clothes. Michelle invited a UJAM instructor to do a session at 5:30. I wanted to support her. So I got there at 5:30 and signed in. We waited a few minutes for other people to show up. Then the lady started the class. Well. It was fast and complicated and suggestive. I guess I am more the Richard Simmons type. After half an hour, I thanked the instructor and went home to have supper and get ready for Project Night.

I put supper in the toaster oven. I read e-mail and messages. I took supper out and ate it. Then I headed to the chapel where Erynne was waiting.

I unlocked the door and we went in. We set up in the fellowship hall. She got out the #6 plastic cups. We decorated some and the kids decorated some. She melted them in the oven and they reduced to discs, but not nice round flat ones like in the pictures. I ripped some flipchart paper into squares to make a 3D snowflake. She gave me a glue stick to use. I glued and folded six squares like I remembered, but I wasn't sure how to glue those six together. We talked for some time then.

Michelle called and she was upset about something. So we talked for some time. While she talked, I ironed the linen pieces, and laid the dress on them and cut out what will become my next nightgown. It will NOT leave this house. Then I packed everything up and put it away. When I got to my car, we wrapped up the conversation and I drove home.

Chris was still up. But he went to bed while I worked on my blog.

Shopping with Michele

Friday

I woke up early but fell asleep and stayed in bed until almost 8. Chris was already gone to work for some special project. I got up and did the usual, including practicing and having egg salad.

I ran out the door and stopped at the post office. No mail. I went to the chapel and unlocked it. The Clark's came in. Each kid had something to do. I took Jedidiah into the sanctuary to count chairs. He seems to be getting the idea. I helped the girls with their math. Then Moira and Wilhelm played the multiplication game. Moira won. They all packed up and headed out to the car.

I packed up and went home to hydrate. I took some boxes to 111. I cleaned in the kitchen and went through one box, picking out some glass containers for leftovers. John was supposed to meet me there but I never heard from him (turns out my phone was still turned off for the night).

When I got home, I ate fiber gel and read outside. Then I made and ate breakfast. I checked e-mail. I called Michele and found out my phone had been on airplane mode. She said she was ready to go anytime. So I put together my list and drove over there. I handed John his payment for 628. Then we got in my car with her driving. However, we noticed one of my tires was low on air, after just topping them off last week. So she decided to take her car instead.

We talked as she drove us to Tooele. We shopped at Luckey's, Melanie's and Maceys, then went back to base. We stopped at the commissary too. Then she went home and helped me carry my stuff to my car. I drove home fro her house. I brought the bags in and then Chris came home. He had stuff from the commissary as well. We put the food away.

He made his supper and mine. I read e-mail, then ate. He said he wasn't feeling well so canceled his game. I worked on my blog and got ready for game night.

Michelle wasn't there when I arrived. Casey said she was spending the night in town. I signed into the game and it worked like it was supposed to. No abnormal endings. I did everything I could think of to do and made some progress. But about 10, I started spinning my wheels. Casey and I talked about making gluten-free bread.

At 11, I thanked him and went home. Chris was still up. But we both retired for the night.

Dino dead

Thursday

I got up after the second alarm went off. I think I slept through the night, having taken a B complex when RLS set in. But I still felt like I needed more sleep. I took supplements, checked e-mail, and made egg salad.

At 9, I went to Bible Study. They decided to have it in the fellowship hall because it was next to the nursery. But the reverberation of sound from the kids made it hard to hear.

Afterwards, I went home and made breakfast mix. Then I went to the library to see the dino head destroyed. But first the kids had story time with several books about dinosaurs. Then the kids lined up to take a whack at the head. It was pretty sturdy because it took a while to get some toys to come out. Finally we asked Randy to take a swing and that did it.

I took cleaning stuff to the apartment. I spent 30 minutes getting everything soaking that needed soaking. I went home for breakfast. Chris was there for lunch. Erynne came over to borrow a meat thermometer. Then they both left. I put on The Highwire and ate breakfast. I jotted notes for my blog. I watered the plants and practiced the Christmas music.

I went back to 111 to clean for an hour. Then Jamie joined me to sort through the stuff left behind and decide who gets what and what goes to the swap shop. Afterwards, we both went home.

Chris came home to get the turkey, stuffing and gravy ready for the Friendsgiving. I helped. I also ate one of the turkey legs to make sure I got one, which turned out to be a very good idea.

We took the food to the ACS building and added it to the tables filling up with food. Emily was working in the kitchen pulling meat from bones and separating it into dark and light. She had three turkeys so I put on a pair of gloves and helped. It seemed a shame to rip the meat off of the legs but that was the protocol. When I heard she was going to throw out the carcasses, I asked if I could have them.

Several of us women monitored the food tables to find room when people came in with food. As pans emptied, we pulled them off the tables. I sliced some of the pies. I wanted to be last in line. Then Michelle asked about Melissa in the library. So I went over to see if she wanted to get a plate while I watched the desk for her. But no. It was only 15 minutes till quitting time. So I went back to the large room.

I got a plate and put on some foods that seemed safe. Chris had saved me a seat by John. Erynne brought a game called Upwords. So 5 of us played. People were taking up chairs and tables all around us. So I was in a hurry to finish up. The chaplain said he wanted leftovers for after the Thanksgiving Eve service. So we put a lot in the fridge. Not sure it was what he was thinking of. Anyway, we cleaned up in the kitchen. I put all three carcasses into one pan and carried it out to the car.

When we got home, I realized we had our own carcass as well. So I filled a bin with bones with meat and cartilage and juice and fat. I called Michele, but she said she didn't want any. So I called Saronna. She sent Randy over to pick it up. What didn't fit, went into our turkey pan. I put the innards into a separate container. We added the leftover gravy, stuffing and white meat to the pan. Chris put the whole thing in the freezer. Randy came over and picked up the container.

I worked on my blog. I made tea and we watched one episode of Criminal Minds. I looked up one of the characters. Chris went to bed. I read until 11, then got ready for sleep.

Another extra practice

Wednesday

I woke up early, but tried to go back to sleep. I got up when the alarm went off. I prepared for coffee morning in the usual way. The exception was leaving my phone on. Just in case someone calls looking for a cleaner.

After meditation and tapping, I cleaned the bathrooms and kitchen. I washed the dishes and left them on the stove to dry. I took a shower and vacuumed and mopped. I put a contract and envelop in my car.

At 1:45 I drove to 5132 for a sign-over. I had been told the apartment was really bad. It didn't look that way on first inspection, but closer inspection revealed a lot. I was glad she had bid $500 on it. He gave me the money and key and we signed the contract. We stood around and chatted with the inspectors.

Everyone left and I locked the door. Then Jamie came back to pick up two things that the occupant had left behind. We talked some more. I went home to drink water and made egg salad. I checked e-mail and messages. I made laundry soap.

At 3:30 I went to 83E to clean for 90 minutes. I almost finished. I called Jamie and asked her to help me change out the toilet seat (that one is wood and my replacement one is plastic). She said yes, sooner rather than later.

I went home and tried again to file an ArMA report for the things that need repair at 83. Jamie called around and said /83 might work as a building number. And it did. But then the form wanted to know what kind of lock it was. It would not accept 'deadbolt', so I looked up some locks and tried all the brand names. Nope. But then it accepted 'bolt'. After that, I also reported the kitchen faucet. That report went better.

I checked messages again. Chris ran to the commissary to get milk for Michele. I went to the chapel to make the square of fleece into a rectangle. In my mind, the job took 10 minutes. But in reality, it took a lot longer because the fabric wasn't straight and stretched when I laid it out. Cutting wasn't too bad. But sewing was tricky. I had to shove it through with a pin and the machine skipped some stitches. But I finished in time. Chaplain arrived and helped me dressed the bell table with it. It didn't completely cover the foam on top. Sigh.

We got out the bells and I set them up by the music easels. I put out gloves too. Michele wasn't coming so I asked Jenni to play in her place. Elizabeth didn't come either, so Rod's wife played in her place. Rod moved Saronna and I to the other side of the podium. The guitar players didn't come. We played through the two pieces over and over. I had to sit down. I was exhausted. The Bible study people came in, but had to go to the fellowship hall to avoid the noise.

When practice was over and it was decided to play again on Sunday, everyone filed out. I packed up my sewing stuff and put it in the sewing closet. Michelle was still talking to someone when I put on my coat and headed home.

Chris was home on his laptop. I worked on my blog and drank water. I made tea and we watched an episode of Criminal Minds. I looked up one of the actors. Chris went to bed, but I read e-mail and messages till 11. Then I went to bed, too.

Volunteering for the food closet

Tuesday

I got up at 7:30, having slept ok. No RLS. I did all the usual things. I fed the starter. Then I got dressed and went to the Keetch room at ACS. There were huge boxes of canned foods. Emily had posted saying they needed people to sort and date them. So she and I sorted them by type of food and put aside those that were badly dented. We wrote the date in large numbers on the top of each can. Other people dropped by to help from time to time. As we got down to the bottom of the box, it hurt my back to fish out cans.

At 11:30 I quit and went to the library to print out the new bells music. Keli reminded me of the shepherds hook for hanging the dino head. I went home and ate fiber gel. I read outside for 20 minutes. When I came in, I grabbed the tall shepherds hooks from the garage, thinking they won't fit in my car. Then I made breakfast, noting that I had run out of breakfast mix. Oh well. I ate breakfast while jotting notes because I had no connection to the internet. I checked the breaker box and none seemed flipped. I texted Chris about it. Then I looked at the outlet and things connected had no power. So I flipped the breakers off and back on. This time the internet came back up.

I tried to put in a work order for things broken at 83E, but the system required a building number. I counted the cash that Jamie gave me and calculated how much of it was hers depending on her hours at 628, 204 and 83D. I put hers in an envelop and some for John.

Then I got a call saying they wanted to inspect 628 early. So I ran over there and met them. Jamie came too. They were pleased and we signed off on it. I gave Jamie her envelop. She said people are afraid to call for cleaning when they see my last name. So she suggested I use my maiden name on the cleaning list.

Then I left. I dropped off a dozen eggs at Saronna's house. I went home to get my phone. I left a message for Keli about the shepherd's hook. I went to 83E to clean, stopping at the post office along the way. I cleaned for 90 minutes, then went home.

I ate fiber gel. I read some e-mail. I signed into Zoom for the quilt guild meeting. I put supper in the toaster oven. Chris came home from work and made himself supper.

After the meeting, I signed out. We chatted. I read more e-mail while listening to a video on something or other.

I worked on my blog. I sketched out how to turn the square of purple fleece into a rectangular table cover with even hangdown all around. Then I made tea. We watched one episode of Criminal Minds. I didn't quite follow the ending so I had to look up a good synopsis online. Then I used my leg massagers.

A new arrangement for band

Monday

I got up at 7:30, having had another rough night of RLS. I did the usual. I got the gallon jar of milk that Jeannie left in the cooler on the front porch. I heated half of it. I made egg salad and chose hymns for Sunday. When the milk reached 180, I added vinegar and curds developed. I scooped them into a jar.

I went to 204 for inspection. The ladies asked if Jamie and I had quit cleaning because people were saying they tried to call us and we didn't answer. Very odd. We passed inspection. I talked to Jamie on the phone. I went to 83E to clean. I called John, but it didn't work out for this morning. I gave him the code to the lockbox so he could clean later.

At noon I went home for breakfast. I ate fiber gel and read outside. Then I made breakfast. Jamie called again. I jotted notes for my blog. I couldn't find anyone to repair bells in Utah.

I went to 628 to finish up. Jamie gave me cash for the Venmo payment. I took the last of the cleaners over to 83. I went to the library for eggs. John came over for half an hour then went home. I cleaned until 5, then went home for supper. While it was heating, I scooped the curds out of the whey for the half gallon in the dehydrator. Then I ate most of my supper.

The chaplain texted me about band, so I grabbed my music and headed to the chapel. I unlocked the door and Jenni and Rod followed me in. I turned on the lights and other people began to arrive. I ran through the two hymns for this Sunday with the piano and guitars. Then Rod led us in practice for the two hymns for Thanksgiving. He spread us out across the front of the church so everyone could be heard. Lastly we discussed having extra practices. I asked Elizabeth if she would like a second note to play. She was willing to try so I said I would add a note to her part.

I went home and finished supper. I put on Hooked on Classics. I worked on my blog and read messages. I put together some stuff for handbells. I wrote some E's into each handbell piece and saved the new copies.

I made tea and we watched one episode of Criminal Minds. I watched videos on how to replace broken springs in a handbell. Sadly it requires tools that I don't have.  We went to bed.

Extra practice just for bells

Sunday

I got up at 8. It had been a rough night with RLS. I did the usual morning stuff. Then I read messages, made cheese squares, and got dressed. I made and ate breakfast. I put the cheese squares in a container and went to the chapel.

I left them in the back and went up front to assemble my trombone. I greeted people along the way. I warmed up a touch.

We sang three praise songs. The service commenced. At the end, the band played two hymns. Two men brought a table from the fellowship hall. I covered it with egg crate foam and a blanket. We set up bells, easels and music. I noticed people had left. We talked about Thanksgiving Eve. Rod asked for a different color blanket for the bell table, then we left as well.

I went home, and changed clothes. I put the purple blanket in the car. I put some cheese squares in the dehydrator. Chris was asleep in bed so I joined him. But I couldn't fall asleep. He got up at 4 to cook supper. I got up too. I ate a bag of frozen watermelon and read messages online. Then we signed into Discord. Chris finished the steaks. We ate while chatting online, then the game began. I kept one ear open to the game while cleaning up my blog notes and posting to my blog.

At 8, I went to the chapel for bells practice. Rod didn't make it so I was in charge. Erynne was late so I took her place and we practiced the first song. We changed out some of the bells to get more alignment in the octave. When Erynne arrived, we played the song again. Then we moved to the other song. We played it over and over. Directing made my arms really tired.

After half an hour, I dismissed them. We discussed one of the bells that Michele had which was in need of maintenance or repair. We didn't know where to take it.

So Keli turned off the lights and we all went home. I made tea and watched an episode of Criminal Minds with Chris. I put the cooler out with a jar for milk. Then I listened to a video on diet. I watered the indoor plants. I drank water with electrolytes in it. I went to bed hoping for a good night's sleep.

Sewing turkeys

Saturday

I got up just before 7:30. I did the usual morning stuff. I watched Rama videos and took a pic of some notes. I asked Chris for a massage and he gave me one. I took a shower first and then he did. I re-drew the turkey head and made templates. I gathered fabrics and supplies.

I ate fiber gel, then ironed some fabric. I sat outside and read. I made and ate breakfast while reading e-mail and contemplating the next project.

I packed up and went to the post office and then the chapel. Moira ran up as I got there. I unlocked the door and went in. I prepared the area and checked the windows to be sure they were secure. Saronna came with her family. I got them started on picking fabrics for the turkey.

Wendy and Eryne and Cammy came to help. Kyle came with his four kids and they all wanted to make turkeys. It was bedlam but we made it through, though not on time. Jenni came to make a turkey. The littlest one played with the stuffing while adults made her turkey.

It was after 4 when we packed up. Some turkeys were finished, and some went home to get finished. I took Saronna to 83E to get the food left in the fridge. She walked home and I drove home.

I helped Chris fold laundry. I worked on my blog. I went to the garden to rake the pile of leaves that Jamie left. I covered most of my garden and found an acorn squash. I went home and heated leftovers for supper. I watched an interview with a man who is creating the outernet and is fighting the CCP to keep control of it.

I paused it to go to the chapel for Project Night. At first no one came and I laid down across the chairs. Later Eryne came with her daughter and Anca came with her daughter. Oh, and Jenni came to finish her turkey. We all conversed. I helped others with sewing. I checked the sanctuary to see if anyone came to Rhythm Class, but no one did. About 8:30 we started packing up. We left at 8:45.

I went home and made tea. We watched one episode of Criminal Minds. I finished watching the interview. Chris went to bed and so did I.

Class sample: success or not?

Friday

I got up by 7:30. I did all the usual morning routine. I checked e-mail and headed to the chapel for Math Morning. I opened the chapel and the Clarks went in. I ran home to get the cards for the multiplication game. The kids quietly worked on their math assignments while Jedediah counted chairs in the chapel. Then we spent the second half playing the game. Moira joined late, but still came in second because Wilhelm kept guessing incorrectly.

After Math Morning, we locked up. I went to 628 to picked up the vacuum. Then I cleaned in 83. John joined me for 45 minutes. Went I got home, it was almost noon. I ate fiber gel. I made up a week's worth of supplements.

I made and ate breakfast. We went to the commissary for groceries. When we got home, I printed out the lab form for the hair mineral analysis. I put everything in an envelop and walked it to the post office. They said one stamp was enough.

When I got home, I took the fabric to the sewing room. I looked up a pic of a live turkey. Many had white tips on their feathers. So I cut a length of orange fabric and left the white selvedge edge on. I gathered the bottom and cut a half circle to stitch it to. But ultimately I didn't like it. I cut another length to made the body, gathered at both ends and stuffed. But it was too big for the tail. I also looked up a pattern for the head. I stuffed the head and added a felt beak and wattle. But it didn't look great either. I trimmed them down. I added a strip onto the tail to suggest feathers.

I was exhausted. I took pics of the turkey and cropped them, finally choosing a one. I posted to all three community Facebook pages. I heated bean soup and rice for supper. I read some e-mails and messages. I jotted notes for my blog and posted for yesterday.

I prepared for game night. I went to Michelle's house with cheese for her. Casey had the game up. I loaded my saved game. I played through what notes I had written down, which didn't take long. I expected to find stuff I could interact with that would progress the game. But that's not what happened. Eventually I tried to put the tuning fork in the statue and the game abended. Casey got it back and I caught myself back up and saved my findings. I tried other things, but nothing seemed to fit. I tried a different tuning fork and the game ended again.

It was almost 11, so I quit. Michelle and I talked a while longer, then I went home. Chris was already in bed. I got ready for bed and joined him.

Exercise that I wasn't expecting

Thursday

I got up at 7:30. I opened the blinds, took supplements, exercised, and practiced. I made egg salad and hardboiled two more batches of eggs. They are so small I may have to eat three a day. I read e-mail for awhile.

I was heading out to clean when I saw Jamie raking leaves next door. So we chatted a bit and clarified where we are on the houses. I went to 83E to clean. But my key would not open the front door, nor the back door. It was very frustrating. So I ended up removing a screen and prying up the unlocked window and crawling in. I checked the doors and found that the deadbolt on one was stuck and the doorknob on the other was stuck. Sigh.

I got the stove filter and knobs and burner bowls soaking in hot ammonia water. Then I headed to the chapel for Bible Study. Other ladies were already there. We chatted a bit, then read two chapters of John and discussed them. We also discussed how I should ask for help with my many activities.

I got some Thanksgiving fabric from the sewing closet, then went home. Jamie was till next door. I drank fiber gel and sat outside and read. Then I went in to make breakfast. I had finished the supplements yesterday and forgotten to make more. So I ate breakfast without them and watched The Highwire.

I went to 628 to clean the third bedroom. It took 25 minutes. I also cleaned in the utility room. Then I took most of my cleaners and the stepstool and headed to 83E. I stopped on the way to unlock the swap shop for someone who didn't realize it was open yesterday. I also picked up a package for Chris and talked to the clerk.

At 83E, I cleaned most of the cabinets in the kitchen. I called John and asked him to help me tomorrow. Jack came by to get the dryer. We chatted. I went back to cleaning.

Before 5:30, I headed home. I ate the rest of the fiber gel. I read e-mail and messages till 6. I went to the gym to meet Michelle and the CSM who has a degree in exercise physiology. I was under the impression that she was going to evaluate our condition and goals and give each of us a tailored exercise plan. But no. She had us doing stretches and then circuits. I was already tired when I got there. I was more tired after two rounds of the first circuit. I sat out the third round, then did two rounds of the second circuit and called it a night. They kept going. I went home for supper, locking the swap shop on the way.

Chris got the food out of the fridge for me and I filled my bowl and put it in the toaster oven. We talked until it was ready. Then we talked while I ate. He washed some green snap peas for us. I also picked some ripe cherry tomatoes from the plants I brought in.

I posted to Facebook for Math Morning and worked on my blog.

I made tea and we watched one episode of Criminal Minds. We had a discussion after that. Later he went to bed and then I did too.

Getting a hair sample

Wednesday

I got up at 7:30, having just wakened from a strange dream. So I guess I slept well. I opened the blinds and got ready for coffee morning. I exercised, drybrushed, meditated and tapped. Then I cleaned the bathrooms and the kitchen. I washed all the dishes including the items used for making cheese. I emptied the dishwasher.

I vacuumed and mopped. I took a shower, but did not rinse my hair there. I rinsed it in the washbowl with water from the Primo bottle. That didn't seem very thorough. I combed it and got dressed. I read e-mail and looked for a more cost-effective b. longum 1714. I fixed the bell part to hymn 190.

At 4 I went to Housing for two reasons. Jack appeared so I asked him about the key to 83E. He had one of the ladies find me another key. Then he asked me to meet him there in 6.5 minutes. So I dropped by the library to get another easel for handbells, and to print off some corrected music. Then I met Jack at 83. I tried the new key to make sure it worked and it did.

We chatted for awhile, then we left. I went back to Housing to schedule an inspection for 204. Then I went to the hairdresser to get some hair cut for the hair mineral analysis. She had people in line and said to come back in an hour. So I went next door to the swap shop. It was kind of a mess because people had dropped stuff off and it never got put away. So I started hanging things up. She came over to check and said she finished early, so we walked back to the shop and she cut some hair from the back of my head and put it in an envelop. We chatted some. Then she locked up her shop and I locked up the swap shop.

I went to get the mail, then went home with a burgundy fleece that might look good on the bell table. Chris was home. I gave him his package and mail. I jotted notes for my blog.

He left to go watch a movie with Michele and John. I looked at felt turkey projects and fabric ones and turkeys made with large yo-yos. Chris came home as I started working on my blog. When it was finished, I made tea and we watched an episode of Criminal Minds. Then I went back to looking at turkeys and contemplated one made of yoyos.

Trouble with locked doors

Tuesday

I got up at 7:30, having had a hard time getting to sleep and then awakened by Reveille. I did all the usual first morning stuff. I checked e-mail. Then I went to 628 to clean for 2 hours.

I came home at noon to make breakfast. Jamie called and said she was giving Cary a quote and how much should we have charged for 204? I ate fiber gel. Chris and I went to the station to put air in my tires. When we got back, I made and ate breakfast. I sat outside and read for awhile. Then I came in to have fruit and read messages.

At 2:45 I went to 83E to get the toilet rings soaking. But the key did not work in any of the locks. Then I went back to 628 to clean. I was going to clean the third bedroom, but when I closed it yesterday to keep the pet hair out, it locked. Sigh. So I spent 2 hours cleaning baseboards and mopping floors.

When I got home, I ate more fiber gel and put leftovers in the toaster oven. I looked at ways to make a phone stand that might work as a tabletop music stand. Michelle texted about something and I asked her what color I should use. She thinks the easels look fine just as they are.

I ate supper and turned my attention to Thanksgiving crafts. I worked on my blog. I made tea. We watched one episode of Criminal Minds. Chris went to bed. I put on the leg massagers and stayed up to read and obsess over what turkey sewing project to do this Saturday.

Cut-and-paste music

Monday

I got up around 7:30. I opened the blinds, took supplements, exercised and practiced. Then I made egg salad with tomatoes and pepitas. I read e-mail, then looked at crafts. I went cleaning for 2 hours.

I came home, ate fiber gel, then sat outside and read. I made and ate breakfast. I heated half a gallon of milk on the stove. I had a thermometer on the automatic mixing unit, but it wasn't registering hot enough and the milk boiled over. I added vinegar and let it curdle. I put the other half gallon in the dehydrator. Then I noticed that some cherry tomatoes were turning red.

Jamie came over with the key to 204. I pulled up the part for the bells on the old computer. It was a scanned copy of notes handwritten in pencil. So I opened it in MSPaint and copypasted parts from other hymns over it: notes, measure bars, key signature, clef, staff lines, note names, rests, half notes, etc. It looked pieced, but better than the pencil version. Then I called up the second song and pieced it too. But I ran out of time. Chris had just come home from work. I loaded them on a thumbdrive and asked him to take them to the library to print out.

I grabbed my music and headed to the chapel. I unlocked it and went in to turn on the lights. Atlas came with me. He helped me grab a table from the fellowship hall and the egg crate pad. His father helped carry the boxes of bells. We set up the table and easels.

Rod came and helped us practice songs for Sunday and songs for Thanksgiving. Michelle couldn't stop smiling watching him work with the bells and percussion: an answer to prayer. Chris dropped off the music for the bells.  Since Keli was gone, we had no piano player. Casey came by with a jar of starter (for bread). He left it on my trombone case.

It was after 8 when we quit. The players left, but Rod, Robert and I stayed to talk a bit, then I turned off the lights and locked up.

I went home and ate supper. I read some e-mail and worked on my blog. I took milk-turned-to-cheese out of the dehydrator and separated some of the whey. I left it sit to separate more.

After I finished my blog post, I made tea. We watched one episode of Criminal Minds. Then I bottled the whey. Chris went to bed but I stayed up later to read.

Searching through Christmas crafts

Sunday

I got up before 8. I opened the blinds. I brushed my teeth. I took the evening supplements that I should have taken Friday night. I exercised and practiced the Christmas music. I read e-mail and messages. There was one about how to opt out of Meta AI using your Facebook data to train their models. So I tried to follow it, but my options seemed to be different. I spent an hour or more trying to find the optout letter.

I paused to whip up a batch of cheese squares. Then I made more breakfast mix. I made and ate breakfast. I got ready for church and filled a container with cheese squares. I took my music and drove to the chapel. I talked to a few people as I assembled my trombone. Then the service started.

We sang three praise songs. He talked about giving. A girl read the scriptures. The chaplain talked about worship and humbleness. The band played two hymns and he said a benediction.

After the service, I talked to Keli (who said she would be gone tomorrow), Rod, and the chaplain and Anca (who really wants me to show her how to make cheese squares). I took the remaining cheese squares and went home.

I changed clothes. I worked on VMIS. I looked for a sleep supplement that my practitioner recommended. I looked at ornament videos online. Chris heated bean soup in the oven and made asparagus and mushrooms. Then he signed into the game. I signed in as well. I looked at more Christmas craft videos as I played the game.

The game ended half an hour early. Chris put away supper. I looked at videos a little longer, taking pics as notes for later. I noted those that didn't take too long or too much paper (or pipecleaners, etc). Something practical for a craft night.

I worked on my blog. I made tea and we watched more of Laugh Your Way to a Better Marriage. The speaker referenced an online test that a person could take to find out what their most important thing in life is (Control, Peace, Fun, or Perfect). He said it $10, but when I looked online, it was more like $25.

We paused it at 10:30. Chris went to bed. I stayed up to catch up on some e-mail, then I went to bed.

A long Project Night

Saturday

Chris' alarm went off at 7:30. He got up to take a shower and get dressed for church. I got up and opened the blinds for the plants. I took supplements, then realized I had taken the morning supplements last night. I exercised, then made egg salad. I practiced the Christmas music.

Chris came home from Mass. I did errands around the house and went to 628 to get some cleaning supplies. I stopped by the post office for mail and talked to the clerk. I put the cleaning cloths in the laundry.

Chris gave me a coconut oil massage. He took a quick shower and then I took mine. I ate fiber gel, then read outside for awhile. I came in to make and eat breakfast. I put together some cleaning supplies for a bathroom and for dusting. I went to Tina's house to clean for two hours. I did her bathroom and dusted the Chinese lamp (and other things).

I came home to rehydrate. I ate fiber gel, then went to 204 to finish the bathroom. When I got back, I heated bean soup in the toaster oven. After I ate, I packed the linen leftovers and notions and headed to the chapel.

Project Night got off to a slow start. I unlocked the chapel, turned on the lights and laid out my fabric. But then Michele showed up with John. Michelle and Casey came as well. Eryne and her daughter arrived and then Jenni. Even Ria came, but she didn't bring a project. I helped Jenni trace around a pair of pajama pants and cut them out. I also worked on piecing linen leftovers to make a piece big enough for the front of a nightgown. Michelle worked on the two bags she cut out last week. But because she talked to the others so much, she didn't finish until almost 10. Then she and Jenni helped pack up.

When I got home, I helped Chris fold laundry and make the bed. It was too late for TV. I listened to a podcast and pieced puzzles, then worked on my blog. Finally we went to bed.

Math Morning

Friday

I got up at 7:30 to open the blinds for the plants. I brushed my teeth and took supplements. I exercised and then practiced the Christmas lineup. I made egg salad and read e-mail.

At 9, I went to the chapel for Math Morning. First the kids worked on their assignments. Then we played the multiplication game. After they left, I stopped at the post office to unlock the swap shop furniture room and take pics. I went home to post that the swap shop was open.

I cleaned 204 for 90 minutes, then went home for breakfast. I sewed a tie back on the chaise lounge pad. We went to the commissary, then to Tooele. Melanie's was having a birthday sale. I bought what was on the list and paid cash. I got 10% off for the sale.

We drove back to base. We unloaded the groceries. I drank fiber gel, and read messages. I called Tina about tomorrow.

Then I heated bean soup for supper. Chris' game got canceled. I read e-mail and messages and watched news videos. I wrote and posted to my blog. I got ready for Game Night by taking notes and making a bottle of tea. I also packed a jar of cheese for Michelle.

When I got to Michelle's house, she had my previous containers cleaned and ready. We talked for a bit and Casey put up the game. I played through the end of the previous disc and went to the city called New York. It was quite a maze inside. I looked around for over an hour. There wasn't much to do. So I kept circling around, wondering what I missed. Then I saved the game and talked to Michelle until after 11.

I got home late, but Chris was still up. I took supplements and got ready for bed. But sleep would not come. At least RLS did not visit.

Finishing the dino head

Thursday

I woke up before 6:30. I opened the blinds for the plants and went back to bed. Sleep wouldn't come, so I got up before 7:30. I got myself ready for the day. I practiced and exercised. I ate some egg salad.

I went to Bible Study at the chapel. I carried in the eggcrate foam mat. We read through two chapters of John. As we were discussing it, my phone beeped. The signover I thought was at 11, was actually at 10. So I quickly packed up and drove over there. I had a contract in the car so I filled it out and had him sign it. He gave me cash which I put in an envelop. I chatted with the inspectors. They told me to pick up the key at the Housing office this afternoon.

I went home to drop off the envelop and contract. I ate fiber gel. I called John to help clean, but apparently I woke him up. I went to 628 to clean for 90 minutes.

At noon I went home to make breakfast and watch The Highwire. I paused it when Jamie called. She wanted to trade cleaning hours for raking leaves. I said ok, and we continued to talk. It went so long, that we were still talking when I headed to the chapel.

I arrived at 2:45. I started painting the unpainted spots on the dinosaur head. Then Isadora and Eryne showed up with paints and a glue gun and a drill. Eryne drilled a hole in each side of the head. We used straws to thread some twine through the head to make a hanging loop. Isadora painted eyes on separate pieces of eye-shaped cardboard. Eryne cut out some teeth and I painted them. Eryne mixed up some paints to get a deep green color. I slathered it on bubble wrap and dabbed the bubbles on the head to look like scales. Then we took pics and cleaned up.

I texted John to meet me for cleaning. I stopped by Housing to sign out a key to 83E. Then I went to 628. I called John and Michele answered. She said he would come later. I cleaned for an hour before he showed up. It got dark. Then we both cleaned for an hour.

We went our separate ways. I went home to make and eat supper. I finished watching The Highwire. I read messages and e-mails. I saw that Michelle had posted the pic of the dinosaur head on all three community pages. I worked on my blog. I made tea and we watched one episode of Criminal Minds.

Meeting with the colonel's wife

Wednesday

I woke up early to open the blinds for the plants. Are they somehow influencing me to do this? I tried going back to bed. I started to get sleepy, but then I had to get up.

I brushed my teeth and got ready for coffee morning. I put on a wrist brace. I did the exercises and drybrushing. I read for half an hour with a red light. I tapped and meditated. I cleaned the bathrooms and the kitchen. I put a rubber glove over my brace and washed dishes. I vacuumed, and I mopped the kitchen floor.

I took a shower, then returned a phone call and Facebook message. I watered all the plants. I made and ate the daily egg salad. I refilled the nut containers from the boxes. I emptied one box and kept the large plastic bag that was inside. I put it over the plants growing on the front porch.

I walked to the swap shop to open it for a lady. She took the spiderman car for her son. I found a foam pad for the handbells. She gave me a ride home. I put the foam in my car for tomorrow.

I read online till almost 4. I realized the plastic bag was gone, so I searched until I found it behind my neighbor's house. I weighted it down in the pot. Then I drove to the colonel's house for a meeting that Michelle set up. About 6 ladies came. With the colonel's wife, we discussed our groups and how to grow them. Some left and the colonel came home. After he left the room, the conversation turned to plastic surgery.

At 6:45, I bowed out and went home. Chris hadn't gone to Mass because they are moving it to Saturday morning. I read e-mail and articles. I looked at tens unit for tinnitus and wrist pain. I worked on my blog. An e-mail informed me that there will be no trash pickup this week.

I made tea and we watched one episode of Criminal Minds.  Afterward, I looked at Christmas projects on Facebook.  I was late getting to bed.

A little too much cleaning?

Tuesday

I got up early to open the blinds for the plants, then went back to bed. But sleep would not come, so I got up. I did the usual morning routine. I made up supplements for the week.

I went to 204 to clean a few last things, then moved all my stuff to my car. I took it to 628 and left it in the garage. The inside door was locked. I went home to get the key. I stayed home to have an early breakfast.

Later I went back to 628. Jamie met me and we toured the house and discussed the third bedroom. Then she left and I got things soaking. I went to Saronna's house to play through hymns and Christmas music. Then I went back to 628 to clean. After half an hour, I went back to Saronna's house to get my purse. I went home to drop off my trombone and music and pick up a small broom.

I went back to 628. They had left behind a water jug with an electronic dispenser. So I called John to come clean. He said he had to shower first. He showed up after 5. He helped clean the fans and lights and high shelves.

After an hour, I sent him home with the water jug. I went home to have a late supper. I read messages. I worked on my blog. I made tea and we watched one episode of Criminal Minds. Chris went to bed and I stayed up to read.

Unexpectedly large band turnout

Monday

It was a bit of a hard night. Something wasn't quite digesting and RLS kicked in after I went to the bathroom. I took some mineral drops and a homeopathic remedy and that seemed to help the RLS. In the morning I realized that my phone was never turned off.

I woke up around 8. I did the usual to get ready for the day. I found a gallon of milk in the fridge so I heated half of it to 100 and put it in the dehydrator. I heated the other half on low to 180 with the automatic stirrer. I entered VMIS hours. I jotted notes for my blog. I turned off the stove and added vinegar to the milk. While it curdled, I made egg salad.

I ate fiber gel early. Then I went to the library for copies and pinata treats. I went cleaning for 90 min. Finally I went home for breakfast. Later, I went to the library to borrow two easels.

After cleaning for another hour, I went to the chapel. Isadora and Eryne came to work on the dino head. It took about an hour to add the treats and paper mache the roof of the mouth shut.

Then they helped me move a table to the sanctuary and got out the boxes of bells. I started copying bell notes to staff paper. By 5:30, I finished but needed a second copy. So I went home to make a copy, but it didn't copy well. I ate some seed crackers and went back to the chapel. I worked on retracing the notes and note names until people started showing up.

People brought their kids to drum along with the band.  Michele and Eryne came to play handbells. I had to let them sort out the music and which bells they needed. Meanwhile, the band practiced hymns for Sunday and a few Christmas pieces. Then we went through one of the Thanksgiving pieces over and over while the bell players tried to wrap their heads around which hand to play when. I suggested color-coding the notes and they did that while the band practiced another Christmas piece. Then they asked for a third bell player. Since the chaplain had arrived (for the first time ever), I directed him over there, but he had a hard time. So a new lady walked in ( just randomly?) and he handed it over to her. She did well. It turns out she plays violin and is willing to come every Monday night to play with us.

I dismissed everyone at 7. Then Kyle helped carry the bell boxes back to the closet.I stayed to clean up the bell table and move it back to the fellowship hall. By then, everyone was gone except Jenni. So she and I talked for awhile. She said she invited the Messiah choir to sing at our chapel on Thanksgiving Eve, and they accepted. Wow!

I went home. I ate some beef heart and mushrooms. I read e-mail and worked on my blog. I made tea and we watched one episode of Criminal Minds. I stayed up to read online, then went to bed.
