Finishing up with 207

Tuesday

I got up at 8, having awoken early and not gone back to sleep. I think I fell asleep last night listening to the book on CD, because it got stuck on a loud sound and I woke up to turn it off. I went through the morning list. I made rice with leftover vegetable juice, then sorted papers in my music bag,

I cleaned at 207, getting ready for John to come over and move furniture. I went home at noon for breakfast and e-mail. I fell asleep briefly. When I woke up, I texted John.

I went to 203 to clean, but then he texted back. So I went down to the parking lot to meet him. I asked him to carry the carpet cleaner up to 207. Then he moved the furniture in the bedroom to one side. I vacuumed and shampooed while he did the same to the livingroom, then I moved to the livingroom and he moved the bedroom furniture to the other side. And so it went. Then I asked him to do the same in 203 while I finished up 207. I moved the vacuum and shampooer to 203 before I left.

It was after 5, so I went to check my garden, then home. I ate fiber gel, then checked messages. I put steamed vegetables in the toaster oven. When they were hot, I added some other things. I ate as I listened to a presentation on menopause.

Near the end, Chris called and we talked for a bit. Afterward, I pieced puzzles online while listening to other short videos. Finally I worked on my blog, made tea, then watched Call the Midwife.

I put the next CD in the player and did my before-bed stretches, then retired for the evening.

One down, two to go

 Monday

The book on CD did not work as well as I had hoped, but I will try again. I went through the morning list and cleaned up here and there. I put something in the dehydrator. I looked up spaghetti squash and it said if picked, they would ripen in a warm sunny place. I looked up hymns for Galatians, and picked two for Sunday.

I went to 607 to do some last minute things. I asked a nearby maintenance man if he would move the bag of tire shreds for me and he did. I put the smaller bags in the trash as well. I picked some zucchini and a spaghetti squash. I raked gopher mounds. I saw someone had pulled out the tomato plant and I guessed it must have been the former resident.

I went to my garden. I picked some cherry tomatoes, a squash and two sweet potato plants. One had potatoes that were small, but worth picking. The other I took home and planted in a grow bag with another sweet potato plant.

I went to the library to make a copy of a hymn for Sunday. Then I went home for breakfast. I read e-mail.

Before 2, I went to 607 for inspection. I was hoping they would accept the blue ring left in the toilet and they did – because they were going to replace all the toilets. Yesh! I wish I had known that. The inspector said she trusted I would remove the garden when it died. I was hoping to get out of that, but I agreed to come back after the first freeze.

I picked up Isadora (who was sleeping so I had to wait for her). We went to 5142 and worked on Steve's apartment. I worked in the kitchen and bedroom until she finished the bathroom.

I took her home and went home to get the key to 607. I took it to Housing to turn it in. When I got home, I put some of the vegetables I picked in the steamer. I ate other leftovers while waiting. By the time they were steamed, I had to leave for the chapel.

Sophia was there waiting even though I was a few minutes early. We talked, then set up for bells. Keli and the chaplain came. So we played through hymns for Sunday, and Thanksgiving and started on Christmas.

Andrea arrived for bells and no one else was there. So she listened until Michele and John arrived. Then I dismissed the band and joined the bell ringers. For some reason, it was hard to figure out who should play which bells. We got the first piece sorted out and played through it numerous times and it finally sounded pretty good.

I was tired, so we all packed up and put everything away. They left me to turn off lights and pack up my music and trombone. When I got home, I ate some of the steamed vegetables. I sat at my computer and read messages and listened to a podcast that turned into a sales pitch for an electrical device that increases blood flow to the eyes.

I worked on my blog, then worked on payment or 607. I watched an episode of Call the Midwife. I put on the next CD of the book and went to bed.

Trading veggies for eggs

Sunday

I got up after 8. No RLS, just couldn't get comfortable. I followed the morning list, then took a shower. I raked the shady part of the lawn. At noon, I came in and made and ate breakfast.

Jenni called to tell me that the church was cold and I should bring a coat. I got dressed and went to the church with cheese squares. I forgot a coat, but when we started singing the praise songs, I went into hot flashes and needed my hand fan the entire time.

I did not get cold listening to the sermon, or playing hymns at the end. The chaplain added communion after the hymns. Then we chatted and I took my cheese squares – which no one ate – and went home.

I picked up a bag with a squash, two small zucchini and a round cucumber, and met Jordan at the church off post. I gave her the bag and she gave me two dozen eggs. Then I went to the Clark's house to drop off a bag of items that people left behind - items I thought they would want. No one was home, so I went home.

I ate bananas and a grapefruit. Then I changed clothes and went outside to finish raking. I mowed that side yard, then did some raking on the other side. I mowed part of it.

I moved the potted tomatoes to the sunniest side of the house. Now that the sprinklers are off, they should be ok there. I refilled the water jugs and went inside for supper.

Since the eggs took such a long time to cook in the toaster oven, I decided to scramble them in a fry pan. I put the chunks of squash in as well. But as I moved the eggs around, the squash fell out of solution and the eggs cooked in chunks.

I ate while reading e-mail and messages. I pieced puzzles online. I posted to my blog. I read messages, then watched the rest of a Call the Midwife episode. I put the first CD o a book on the CD player, then climbed into bed to fall asleep listening to it.

Finally got to see the church basement

Saturday

I got up before 7:30, having awoken early and not gone back to sleep. I did a Sudoku puzzle, then executed the morning list. I made a cat crinkle toy and took pics of it for the class. But they really needed a cat in them. So I copied the pic from the directions and posted that. I cut extra crinkle material strips for class. I also posted for Project Night. Then I made up a week's worth of supplements.

I went to apt 203 and cleaned for an hour. I cleaned at 207 for half an hour. I went home to have fiber gel, read in the sun and to prepare breakfast.

At 2, I went to the chapel for Sewing Class. The kids were waiting. I let Wilhelm unlock the door. Then we went inside and set up the sewing machines and notions. The dial fell off the iron and we could not figure out how. Maybe someone had dropped it? Randy went home to get some tools to take it apart. But the broken piece was inside a part that was formed as a whole and he could not get it out. So we threw the iron out and got the back up one.

Wendy helped the kids with their crinkle cat toys. They just got a new kitten to replace their old cat. So they chose to make smaller ones than the sample I made. Moira finished hers first and headed out. Randy alerted me that the routeman was in the church basement. I've always wanted to see it so I ran down there. Sophia ran with me. It was not as I expected. Not dark, or dank, or webby. And much smaller. Just a boiler room with two crawlspaces heading away from it. We did see what looked like material from a mouse nest.

We went back up and left the man to do his checking. I took pics of the kids with their cat toys, then they left. I sat and talked to Wendy and Randy, then they left as well. I reorganized a bit, then locked up and left.

I went home, then headed to 607 to rake tire bits out of the flower bed. I spent an hour, filling a trash bag heavier than I could lift. I also raked gopher mounds and picked two small zucchini.

Finally I went home. I cracked 4 eggs into a bowl, then added some squash and seasonings and cheese. I put it in the toaster oven for 20 minutes while I read e-mail and such. But it wasn't done, so I put it back in for 10 minutes and read some more. And again, I took it out to find it wasn't done. But it was almost 7. So I put it back in and turned off the toaster oven.

I headed to the chapel. No one was waiting. So I busied myself cleaning up from sewing class. Still no one. Then I called Chris and chatted with him and his father. They said Mike got hired, and by the same company that downsized him. Hurray!

Casey arrived, so Chris said goodbye. I chatted with him for awhile. He invited me to have another game night tomorrow because there is no school on Monday. Then we both locked up and left.

I went home to eat my egg supper. I messaged a lady about trading zucchini for more eggs. I watched almost two episodes of Call the Midwife, then worked on my blog and went to bed.

Cleaning for Tina

Friday

I got up at 8, didn't sleep great, but no RLS. I went through the morning list, except for yogurt. I went to the chapel for Math Morning. Saronna brought a math game. So we all played it, helping Jedediah as needed. We finished after 10, then packed up and locked the chapel. We chatted in the parking lot for a bit, then I went home to eat fiber gel and pick up the stepstool.

I went to the commissary for groceries. The clerk asked for advice on how to clean his oven. Then I went to 203 to clean in the kitchen for an hour-ish. I brought home the frozen goods left behind in the freezer. I put the groceries away, then made and ate breakfast. I looked at sets of directions for making a cat crinkle toy.

I went to Tina's house with a squash and some yogurt. She wanted a lesson on how to use her embroidery machine. So I did the best I could. She had an elaborate Singer and it was complicated. But we figured out enough for her to make name labels for clothing. Then I did some vacuuming and she paid me.

When I got home, I ate fiber gel, then went to 203 for another hour. I packed up food and soaps from the shelves into a bag for Saronna. I went to the garden to pick up the carrots that Jack left for me. I went home and heated some of the frozen food for supper. I read e-mail. I ate the vegetables, but the fish was still cold, so I put it back in the toaster oven. I worked on a supplement order, comparing prices from one site to another. I took notes for the game. I worked on my blog and ate the fish. I packed some of the carrots in a bag. I made tea, then headed to Michelle's house.

She wasn't there, but Casey and the kids were. He put up the game and I started to play without the notes at first, then I had to look to make sure I didn't miss anything. Michelle called him and they talked. I ran into trouble with the game and Casey got it back, but from then on, it ran very slowly. Finally, I found a ship and was supposed to go in through a hole, but after circling the ship several times, there was no hole to be found.

I exited the game, thanked Casey, and went home. I watched the walkthrough to see where the hole was. I took more notes, then went to bed.

Saving green tomatoes

Thursday

I got up at 7:30. Chris was just leaving for work. I went through the morning list. I added milk to some ferments and put them in the dehydrator.

I went to Bible Study at the ACS building. They decided that the chapel wasn't clean enough. We read and discussed the 49th book of Genesis. Then we discussed community stuff, including writing ICE reports about the chapel.  We said a prayer and I left.

I went home to eat fiber gel, then I went to 607 to finish mopping and get most of my stuff out. Then I went home for breakfast and to watch The Highwire. It was short today. I stayed to eat egg salad and check e-mail. Chris came home to move his luggage to the car. He checked e-mail too, then kissed me and went back to work.

I went to 203 to spray down the bathroom to soak. I also checked the fridge and stove. I walked over to 207 and sprayed it down too. Then I went back to 607 to address the garden. There was a huge sprawling tomato plant. I cut it way back and kept the green tomatoes. I also pulled two flowering broccoli plants and some peppers that were done for the season. I left the zucchini plant and the spaghetti squash plant. I put what I pulled into a large bag. I raked up some of the shredded rubber, but needed a bag to put it in. I took the bag of plant debris and dumped it in my garden, saving the bag for shreds.

I went to Housing to schedule the inspection. I went home to lay out all the green tomatoes so they can ripen over time. I checked e-mail and jotted notes for my blog. I went to the library to get some boring books on CD.

I proceeded to the school where a bunch of us met to pick up neighborhood trash. Erynne and I were on a team and we went between First and Second street where we found lots of trash, then we went between second and third. When we got to the area behind the Clark's house, I saw Moira. She was burying ammonia that her mother found in a green spray bottle. I was so happy to see the bottle because I didn't remember what I had done with it. I finished picking up trash and met the others back at the school. Jack thanked us and we all went home.

I put leftover fish in the toaster oven. I worked on my blog while it heated. I ate supper and listened to a podcast. Chris called and we talked for a few minutes. Then he went to bed in his hotel room at the airport. I worked on a supplement order, then left it while I watched two episodes of Call the Midwife.  Then I went to bed.

Signed for another apartment

Wednesday

I woke up in the dark to use the bathroom. No RLS. But Chris was already gone. I went back to bed until 7:30. It was still dark when I got up. I prepared for Meditation Morning and rushed it just a little. I started cleaning the bathrooms, then got dressed and went to a sign-over at 11. After the signing, the man left and I stayed to chat with Jack and Sarah. Jack gave me back the irrigation timer I had lent him months ago.

I went home to finish cleaning and washing dishes. I vacuumed, then checked e-mail. I prepared for the sauna and sweated for 20 minutes. Then I took a shower and got dressed. I made egg salad.

I went to 607 to clean. I tried new ways to get the blue ring out of the toilet but to no avail. I mopped some floors and down the steps. I checked the backyard garden but there was nothing to pick. I poured cleaning vinegar and Dawn on a grease spot in the garage, then went to my garden. There was nothing to pick there either.

I went to the post office for the mail, then headed home. Chris was folding laundry, so I pitched in. Then he told me Michele and John were coming over.

And they did. We started chatting and Chris reminded me that I wanted to refill the water jugs. So Michele and Chris and I went to the Primo machine to fill all three 5-gallon jugs. I noted that the gallon price went up to 70 cents.

When we got back, we talked about movies and games. Then John got hungry and they went home. I worked on my blog. Later I made tea and we watched an episode of Blue Bloods. He went to bed and I stayed up to read.

Cleaning Tarah's house

Tuesday

I got up at 8, having gotten up multiple times during the night to address RLS. After Sudoku, I went through the morning list. It rained again. I took a bucket of cleaners to Tarah's house about 9:30. She called me an expert. Eryne was there to help as well. As we cleaned, other ladies arrived. I got a call for a quote and ran over to Steve's building to look around and name a price. He accepted and told me the sign-over is tomorrow at 11.

I went back to Tarah's house. I cleaned here and there, in the kitchen, in the bathroom, the front and back doors, etc. I could not clean her oven because she had the self-clean cycle going. I wondered how she would pass inspection at 2.

At noon I went home for breakfast and hardboiled two batches of eggs. After eating and checking e-mail, I checked the garden at 607, then mopped upstairs, left the toilet ring to soak again, and cleaned walls and steps.

At 5, I went to the garden. There were a few cherry tomatoes which were almost ripe. A bird was caught in the netting and was surrounded by feathers. I wondered if it tried to hide from a larger bird.

I went to the post office for mail, then went to the library. Michele was there to print out mask parts. The printer was giving the clerk trouble. But Michele eventually got the copy she needed. Then I handed over a thumb drive. It took awhile but I got the copies I needed. I stayed to chat then went home for supper.

As I ate, I read RLS remedies on the Earth Clinic site and took notes. I worked on my blog, then made tea. We watched Blue Bloods. I went back to reading what has worked for other people with RLS. I tried a few at bedtime and they must have worked.

Band is a no-show

Monday

I got up at 8, having had to get up several times during the night. I went through the morning list. It was sunny at first, but then it rained most of the day so I did not water the plants.

I chose hymns for Sunday. I made a copy of one, then cut it up into pieces to just have the descant for the bells to play. But my copier wasn't cooperating well and it doesn't enlarge. So I asked Chris to do it at work, but he said his isn't working right either. I texted Saronna and hers wasn't being helpful either.

So I went to Michelle. I brought my cut and pasted copy and a container of cheese squares. Hers wasn't communicating with the laptop so she took a pic of the paper, then went to Canva and used that AI to clean it up. Then she printed copies for me. I thanked her, chatted with Casey and went home.

I made and ate breakfast. I texted with Kurt. I sent him the pic that Michelle took of the music. He put it through AI and it came out better. In fact, I compared the two results and found out the Canva AI changed some of the notes.

I went to 607 to clean for an hour and a half. I stopped by my garden and picked a squash. Then I went home for fiber gel. Chris put leftovers in the toaster oven for me.

At 6:30, I went to the chapel for band. But no one showed up. I got out the bells for bell practice at 7. Michelle arrived at 7 and we chatted. Then Michele and John arrived at 7:15. They colored in some of the bell music, then we all chatted till 8. Michelle had to go to a class and the rest of us put stuff away, turned off the lights and went home.

I told Chris that I might want to quit band. He was ok with it. I worked on my blog and made tea. We watched Blue Bloods. I did some Sudoku, then read on my laptop.

Sometimes a cheat code is the answer

Sunday

I got up at 9, never having heard my alarms in the guest room. And it was raining. I went through the morning list. I got started on cheese squares. Michelle called, having a reaction to something. All I had to offer was charcoal, so I told her to call EMS. She did and they gave her benedryl.

I pulled the cheese squares out of the oven. I posted to my blog for Friday. I made and ate breakfast. I got dressed for church, then took the cheese squares and a zucchini to church.

Only a handful of people showed up, and the chaplain and Keli were not amongst them. Apparent the chaplain went to the hospital this morning and they were concerned he might have giant cell arteritis. Idk. Anyway, Popken led the service and I played hymns afterward. Then we all chatted and had cheese squares and went home. I stayed to check for my chenille pumpkin project but still couldn't find it.

When I got home, I ate some fruit and laid down and fell asleep. Chris woke me at 5 for the game. He had supper waiting for me. I listened to the Integrated Tapping Summit until everyone was present, then we played the game.

Our intrepid explorers were in the middle of a fight, but they handily won. Then we tracked down a revised will and delivered it to the council. It named the bastard daughter as heir. So we informed her of her parentage and inheritance and new place on the council of 5. Then two other members of the council asked to speak with us, separately. They each had a task to ask us to perform. Neither of which appealed to me but which would probably involve fighting.

After the game, I started working on my blog. Then we made the bed with a clean cover and sheets and blankets. I finished my blog and made tea. I jotted down all cleaning hours for yesterday.

Michelle invited me over for another game night, and also to be home with Isadora so she could go to the gym. So I went over. But then Michelle decided to stay home and chat. I played the game, always getting killed by the ice monster. Then I asked her if there were cheat codes for the game and she looked it up. Yes, there was a code to type in that made me invincible. That was a big help. But I still had to make almost impossible jumps. There was also a code to get all the weapons at once. But it turns out that the ice monster is invulnerable to bazookas.

Casey and Cedric came home from their trip. Casey unpacked the car and Cedric put himself to bed. The game seized and Casey freed it up. I kept missing the jumps and reloading the game. I succeeded a few times, then Casey did the last jump for me. From there, I got Urgon's part, slid back down to the first level and used it to defeat the ice monster and move to the ending of the level. Then I got the opportunity to buy ammo and med kits. I bought ammo but the screen seized so I didn't get med kits. I figured I didn't need them anyway, being invincible, but later decided I should have turned the invincibility off.

I made the next level at 11, thanked them, and went home. Chris and I retired to bed together.

Project and Game Night

Saturday

It was a horrible night. RLS kept visiting me. The treatments worked, but not for more than an hour or so. Therefore, I got up late, like around 8. I did Sudoku. Chris took his shower and went to Mass. I started my morning list. I was out watering plants when he got home. I planted the 4 seedlings that Michele gave me into the 4 empty spots in the tower garden. I also reset the traps and added mint leaves to one of them. It seems the gophers are digging a nexus of tunnels so that the water doesn't fill one tunnel, but spreads out among several.

When I came in, I asked Chris for a massage. After the massage, I took a shower. I made a bowl of yogurts with pumpkin seeds. I read e-mail, then made and ate breakfast. I went to 607 just before 2. Davis was there mowing the lawn. I went upstairs to work on baseboards. Isadora arrived to finish the master bathroom and to clean the other two bathrooms. After I had cleaned all the baseboards, I discovered that the walls needed scrubbing as well. The dirt was in between all the little lumps of paint - at least in the master bedroom and under the windows in the other bedrooms. Probably from a dog. I gave up trying to wipe away all the pet hair clinging to the walls. After I finished scrubbing, I went back with a vacuum and swept the hairs off.

Davis left. Isadora called her mom to pick her up. But by the time she arrived, I was leaving as well. I talked to her through the passenger window, then saw Michele and John pull out of their driveway. I knew they were going to my house for dinner so I wrapped up the conversation and went home.

Chris had cooked cod in a coconut curry sauce. So we all had dinner together. We chatted until I noticed the time, jumped up and headed to the chapel. When I got there, I realized I didnt have my phone. I went through my project bag looking for the chenille pumpkin. When John and Michele arrived, I went to 607 to pick it up. When I got back, I handsewed seams on a linen nightgown. John was gluing figures. Then they left early. So I packed up and called Michelle. She encouraged me to come over for a substitute Game Night. So I did. We chatted as the ice monster killed Indy over and over again. She looked up a walkthrough and we saw how Indy was supposed to get to the third floor. But it was an awful lot of big jumps in a row, all while getting shot at.

We stopped at 11, but kept talking. She was trying to convince me to pause all my community actvities until after Christmas.

I left at 11:30 and went home. Chris had washed the bedding but it wasn't dry yet, so we we slept in the guest room and sadly, RLS still found me.

Trading squash for eggs

Friday

I woke up early, but daylight was just starting to break. I stayed in bed until 7:30, then got up to start the day. I did some Sudoku, and then started the morning list. I didn't want to practice while Chris was still in bed, so I put the new basket on the GopherHawk. When he got up, I practiced. I folded laundry. I got yogurt started for Tina, then made myself a bowl of yogurts and pumpkin seeds.

Afterward, I went to Steve's place to unlock the door so Ned could take the mattress. I went to 607 to clean. I picked a zucchini from the backyard garden. Then I met Jordan off post. I gave her egg boxes and a squash. She gave me 18 eggs. I went back to cleaning and finished the windows. I dropped the zucchini off at Keli's house.

I went home for breakfast. I added to the shopping list. I laid down and fell asleep. When I got up, we went to the commissary and then to Tooele. I wanted chamomile tea, but Melanie's was all out of it.

We came home. I read online. I went to the garden to water. I uncovered the tomato plant. It had grown through the netting. I stuffed mint leaves down a gopher hole. When I got back, Chris was still here. His game got canceled. So did mine because Michelle was helping with Homecoming.

I heated supper in the toaster oven. I read online a commentary on Genesis where Joseph invites his father and brothers to Egypt because of the famine. Michele called Chris and needed a ride home. So he left for awhile. When he got back, I made tea and we watched an episode of Blue Bloods. Then I retired to my laptop to listen and piece puzzles. Finally I worked on my blog and went to bed.

Steve's last day

Thursday

I woke up when Chris' alarm went off and had a hard time going back to sleep. But I must have, since I woke up at 8:30. I did a quick run-through of the morning list, then went to the chapel to open it for Bible Study. Diane brought me eggs. We got through 2 chapters, then I had to leave.

I went to Steve's place to sign for it. It is sad that he is leaving. He gave me $300, but I gave $100 back because it was not very dirty at all. We talked for a bit, then he left. I went home to drop off the money and eggs. I went to 607 to clean for an hour.

Then I came home for breakfast and to watch The Highwire. I paused it after 2, to go to a quote on Coyote Cove. It was only 2 bedroom, but quite dirty. I told him $500 and he said it was lowest quote he had gotten.

I went back to 607 to clean for 4 hours. I wasn't planning on cleaning that long, but then John came over, so I stayed till he left and by then Isadora had come. I stayed a little bit, but was tired and hungry.

So I went to the garden. I picked some cherry tomatoes and four squash. I dug out thistles. I watered the tomato plant. I went home to heat supper and check e-mail. I fielded some texts and confirmed activities for tomorrow morning.

I worked on my blog. I made tea and we watched the next episode. Afterward, I recorded all the cleaning times for this week. I listened to the next episode of the Integrated Tapping Summit, then went to bed.

Vacuuming the fridge

Wednesday

I got up at 7:30, having been awake for quite awhile. Chris still hadn't quite left for work. I prepared for coffee morning. I exercised and read. I meditated and tapped. The door bell rang. I was annoyed, but then they gave me a bag of cotton fabric, so I forgave them.

I cleaned the bathrooms and kitchen. I washed dishes. I laid out in the sun, then sat for a steam session. I took a shower and did a load of towels and washcloths.

I ate 4 kinds of yogurt. I went to 607 to clean. I had to vacuum pet hair from the fridge. I cleaned the shelves.

John did not come over till almost 7. Michele came with him. We chatted as John cleaned. I picked some peppers and cherry tomatoes from the lady's garden. Then Michele walked me back to her house to give me some plants that someone had given her. When we got back to 607, I asked them to turn the lights off and close the garage door when John was done.

I went to the garden even though it was getting dark. I took a pic of the bird bowl as requested. I also was able to locate two cherry tomatoes. Then I went home.

I read some e-mail and worked on my blog. I made tea and we watched another episode of Blue Bloods. Chris went to bed and I stayed up to listen to an episode of Integrated Tapping Summit.

Shopping with Jenni

Tuesday

I slept well at first, then awoke early and could not go back to sleep. I got up at 7:30. I went through the usual morning routine. I started a new batch of sprouts. Peas this time. I ate yogurts, then added milk to most of them to use up the milk. I put those yogurts in the dehydrator to cure.

I packed a bag with swim suit and towel. I made breakfast and packed it in a bowl. I filled two water bottles. Jenni came over to pick me up. She took me to the dentist. I was half an hour early, but it took that long to read through all the fine print and explain why I would not sign the consent form.

I waited a few minutes, then was called back. The lady cleaned my teeth with sonic water or something like that. I waited again, then the dentist came and checked my teeth. He said one tooth was worn, but there was no decay so I was free to go. An appointment was made for the next cleaning.

When I got out, Jenni was waiting for me. We went to a fast food place for her to buy lunch. Then we sat in a park and she ate hers while I ate the breakfast I had made. Then we went to the Aquatic Center. But the pool she wanted to use was closed until the filter system could be fixed.

So we went shopping, starting with Hobby Lobby. Then I looked for a professional grade pumice stone. I found it at Macey's. I got pomegranates at WalMart. Someone texted me that she wanted me to clean some toilet rings because she failed inspection and was reinspecting tomorrow. My phone knew her name, but I couldn't think who she was. I told her I would do it. Then Michelle called to tell me what a bad day she had. She wanted me to come to her house later, but I said I had to clean two toilets. She asked if I would let her do it and keep her company.

So, when Jenni and I got back to post, I ate some seed crackers and met Michelle over at the house on Pinyon. She cleaned the toilets while I talked to her. She didn't want me to help, so I found other surfaces to wipe.

When we finished, she wanted me to come to her house, but I said I had to meet John over at 607. I agreed to meet her at 7:30. I texted John and headed over. He arrived half an hour later. I cleaned in the kitchen and he cleaned upstairs. I texted the lady about the toilets and she came over to pay me. She was not the name that came up on my phone. But whatever.

After John left, I packed up and came home. It was 7:30, but I was tired and hungry and it was our anniversary. When I told Michelle that, she understood. Chris had supper in the toaster oven for me. I ate and checked e-mail. I told him about my day. Then I worked on my blog.

I made tea and we watched the pilot episode for Blue Bloods. This might be good. Later Chris went to bed and I stayed up to read.

Back home, and all the usual things to do

Monday

I woke up earlier than I wanted to, but had slept better up to that point because the room was cool. I puttered around in the room while Chris read online. Then I washed up and got dressed. I took my water bottles to get refilled. I chatted with another woman who was doing the same thing. When I got back to the room, I noticed that it smelled stuffy.

I checked my messages. I jotted notes for my blog. I added to my to-do list. I made breakfast and ate it while listening to some podcast.

Then we packed up all our stuff and moved it to the car. We headed home. We stopped somewhere for a bathroom break, then continued on. The whole time we listened to a book on CD. The writing was so dramatic that I could not sleep through it. No one was ever mildly irritated or concerned. People were furious, or heartbroken, or ecstatic, or paralyzed with fear.

When we got back to base, we brought our luggage into the house and unpacked. We went to the post office for mail, then the commissary for food. Tiffany was there and we talked about putting out water for the birds so they won't eat the tomatoes. Then we stopped at the library to return the book on CD and get a more reserved one.

I checked e-mail, then went to clean 607 for an hour. It smelled like something had died in there. I opened the windows, and put water down all the drains. Finally I flushed out the insinkerator. I cleaned the oven as best I could, then put some hot water and ammonia inside to lift the last of it and to loosen the grease on the racks. I also picked some peppers in the garden she left behind.

A man came to the door and asked for the swing. I told him if it was still here when I took the house to Inspection, he could have it. He also asked for the microwave in the garage and I let him have that.

On the way home, I stopped to inspect my garden. Lots of gopher mounds. Also, lots of cherry tomatoes. I guess the birds went for the water bowl after all. Also, I picked 4 squash and a spherical cucumber. When I got home, I washed the tomatoes and ate them. I watered my outdoor plants and refilled the jugs. Chris made ground beef with the small potatoes from our garden. I ate that for supper and some cashews. I opened the packages from the post office and gave Chris the one with the new remote.

I took two squash and went to the chapel for band practice. At first it was just Keli and me. Then Sophia came. Later Jenni showed up. We played through the hymns and Christmas songs. We discussed what we needed copies of. They left and Jenni stayed to talk. She is taking me to the dentist tomorrow and said to pack a bathing suit for walking the lazy river.

When I got home, I read messages and worked on my blog. I ate chia seed and blueberries.  I made tea and we watched the last episode of Criminal Minds season 14.  But that's all the library has, so we will have to find something else to watch.

I read online.  Chris went to bed and later so did I.

Last hike

Sunday

It was another long night with little AC. I counted the seconds that each cycle lasted – only 70: not long enough to cool the room. The toilet continued to run and the bathroom smelled like cigarettes. Opening the front door let in cool air, but Chris didn't like the door being open.

We talked about getting another room and if not possible, just going home. I didn't want to stay here another night, but wasn't ready to go back to Dugway either. After eating his breakfast, he went downstairs to request another room while I dressed and made breakfast. He came back with a new room number. So I packed up everything that I could. He moved a few things at a time to the new room, and then we took the last boxes together. The new room was much like the old room, but the AC was digital and the toilet didn't run.

We prepared for hiking by filling my water bottles. Then we headed to a butte where we walked around, climbed on rocks and spoke to people. We both took pictures. Then we went back to Fruita to walk along the river. The e coli count was high so we did not put our feet in the water. The path followed the flowing water for awhile, then veered to the left and went up the side of a mountain. We followed the path to a big vista. It continued higher, but my legs had had enough. So we took pics and walked back.

I watched the trees for signs of apples. There were none and then there was one covered in apples. I walked up to it and picked one while stumbling over all the ones that had dropped. The deer did not seem to mind how close we were.

When we got back to the hotel, I washed and ate the apple. I downloaded several days worth of pictures to my laptop. We read online for awhile, then I took a long shower. I got dressed and we went to the Broken Spur steakhouse. It was lovely. I would recommend it.

When we got back to the hotel, Chris hooked up his DVD player. We read online and I worked on my blog. Later we watched three episodes of Criminal Minds. I spent over an hour working on entering hours into VMIS and resetting my password. Then I got ready for bed.

Farmers Market

Saturday

Another night of little sleep, even though I remembered to take my magnesium supplements. Chris had turned the water off to the toilet, but somehow it still refilled it self all night. I turned the AC all the way up, but it still didn't cool off and kept running intermittently through the night. In the morning, Chris turned the AC off because my laptop sits right next to it. I took a shower and made tea. I sat down at my laptop to jot some notes and read messages. I made and ate breakfast, then we walked to the convenience store where he bought sun screen.

For hiking, we went to Chimney Rock, and took the trail that seemed most level. We did not make it to the end (however far that might be) till I decided that my legs had had enough. We walked back to the car and drove back to the hotel. It was hard to walk up the steps to our second floor room. Chris refilled my water bottles, while I read online.

At 3, we drove to the Saturday farmer's market. It was smaller than I expected or remembered. Then we walked to and around inside the local convenience store. I bought kombucha and a bag of pistachios.

I got dressed for dinner, and then we walked to the Mexican restaurant in front of our hotel. The booth seat was slanted so I changed sides with Chris. They had chicken in red salsa and pork in green salsa. I wanted pork in red salsa but they said no. So we ordered both and switched the meats. Chris brought some home. I ate pistachios for the salt.

Chris hooked a DVD player to his laptop and we watched the episodes of Criminal Minds that we couldn't see at home. Then I read on my laptop and posted to my blog. I think we went to bed early and put the AC on constant run. I fell asleep, but Chris could not take the noise so he turned it down.

Fruita Utah

Friday

I did not sleep well. I woke up in the middle of the night and could not go back to sleep. The toilet refilled itself several times an hour and the AC system came on with about the same frequency.

Because the drapes were drawn, I didn't realize it was morning until I checked at 8:45. I got up and took a shower. I plugged up the toilet. I did my exercises. We went to the lobby for coffee and to refill my water bottles. I got some hot water to make tea with. Then I made breakfast with the tea. A man came to work on the toilet. But he said he needed a new part to stop the water from draining out.

After breakfast, we went to Fruita. It is a place a bit secluded which means it is partially protected from late frost which kills blossoms in other places. We parked and walked the Fremont Gorge Trail. We never did find the gorge even though we walked for quite a while. In order to save some energy for tomorrow, we turned around and came back. We sat at a table in a park and chatted with another couple while drinking water. Then we walked back to our car and returned to the hotel.

I refilled my water bottle and laid down for a nap. Did I fall asleep? Didn't seem like it. I got online to finish listening to a lecture and jot notes for my blog.

Later, I washed up and we went to a Mexican restaurant in town for an early dinner. I got the octopus taco and the vegetable soup. The plan was to eat half our meal and save the other half for tomorrow. But I ate all of mine. Then we went to the ice creamery. I got the sample platter with chocolate, berry, and juniper flavors. Chris got a large cone with butter pecan and coffee.

After dessert, we went back to the hotel. I read online, then read outside in the fading sunlight. I took a short walk around the hotel second floor balconies. When I got back, I came inside and watched some health videos. I made tea and worked on my blog. We did not watch TV because of all the commercials. Later we went to bed.

Trip to Capitol Reef

Thursday

I got up at 7:30. I went through part of my morning list, skipping the things that won't be needed later. I put the seed crackers in the dehydrator hoping to improve the crispiness. I packed more breakfast things. I went to the chapel to unlock the door for Bible Study, then went back home to continue packing. Finally I watered the plants and then packed my laptop. We went to the post office, then his office, then the gas station.  We got on our way by 10:30.

As we rode, we listened to a book on CD. I dozed on and off, but not as much as I would have liked. When we got near our destination, we stopped at Curry Pizza for a late lunch. We both got Indian food. Since we didn't finish it, we took it to our hotel to also be supper.

We signed into the Noor hotel. I was disappointed to find out that they didn't have any kind of breakfast, or a pool. We carried our luggage and breakfast boxes up to the second floor. We set up our computers and read online for awhile. I watched over half of today's Highwire episode.

Then we went for a walk around the hotel and grounds. There wasn't much to see. After some discussion, we went to the Etta Place cidery. It had changed a lot in the last 3 years. Now it was a bar. We sat outside in the back. We ordered two sets of three ciders. We tasted each cider and talked about them. Then I suggested we take our pic against the mountains. A lady offered to take it for us, and a conversation started. After she left, we conversed with the two couples who took that table next.

When they left, we were leaving too, but got in a conversation with a couple inside the bar. She told me there would be a Stitch-n-bitch here tomorrow afternoon. So we talked about that and about picking apples. Then they had to leave, so we paid for our drinks and some bottles that Chris picked out and some chocolate that I picked out.

We went back to our hotel. I finished watching The Highwire. We ate our leftovers. We tried watching TV, such as they had. But there were so many commercials, that we eventually gave up. Chris went to bed and I stayed up to blog.

The next house to be cleaned

Wednesday

I got up by 7:30. I prepared for coffee morning. I rinsed the sprouts, but so many didn't sprout and were just rotting. After 4 rounds of tapping and meditation, I cleaned the bathrooms and kitchen. I washed dishes. I vacuumed and mopped floors. I read outside. The book pages fell apart.

I got dressed and went to sign for 607b. We all talked about visiting Torrey and staying in a yurt. Sounds like fun. I went to the garden to check on my makeshift birdbath. I picked a few cherry tomatoes. I stopped by the post office and picked up the new baskets for the GopherHawk.

Back home, I prepared for the steam tent, then sweated for 20 minutes. I took a shower and got dressed. I ate yogurt and pumpkin seeds. I also ate the sprouts and some leftovers. I started packing clothing and toiletries. I found some frozen eggs in the freezer and put them in a bowl to thaw.

I made more breakfast mix and several other mixes. I made sure my supplement boxes were full. Chris came home from work. Michele texted that she was ready to come over, so Chris went to get her while I beat the eggs and made the batch of seed crackers. I put them in the oven, then I showed her my procedure for watering the outdoor plants. We talked, then I drove her home. We talked some more sitting in her driveway. Finally I told her I had to check 607 to make sure it was locked. So she headed inside and I drove down there to turn off lights and make sure the doors and windows were locked.

When I got home, I made tea and we watched TV. Then I packed the clothes into the suitcase, along with the toiletries. The seed crackers were not crisp so I threw them back in the oven. I worked on my blog and read messages.
