Friday
I got up after 8. I had awakened dehydrated but too tired to get up and drink. I heard Chris get ready and leave for town to get new tires. I got dressed and drank amended water. I checked e-mail and messages. I heard rain outside. Then I got some scratch paper and went to the chapel.
Saronna and her kids were waiting outside when I got there. I unlocked the doors and we all went in. We set up in the fellowship hall. She had math workbooks for the kids and a color by number for the youngest. Wilhelm asked me to time him. I started with the second hand, but it didn't matter. 20 minutes later he had done less than half. They packed up to leave because of an appointment in town. Moira found a dead bird on the way out and we kicked it out of the way.
I was going to go home for a bit, but then Janet arrived for Bible study. We talked for some time. No one else showed up. Finally we said a prayer and went home. I mashed up some hardboiled eggs and added guacamole and pumpkin seeds. I read e-mail and Telegram messages.
At noon, I watered the plants and dealt with some gopher mounds. Then I spent an hour working on the bathmat. I took a break for lunch, then spent 2 more hours on the bathmat. I couldn't get the corners right because there was too much fabric. Having cut according to directions, I can only assume that the pressure foot stretched out the fabric to cause this problem. As we all know, you can't hide extra fabric in a mitered corner.
I took a pic of the mat and posted to Facebook for the sewing class. I wasn't sure how the kids were gonna handle the corners, but they often don't really care about their results. Maybe they should join a WDNC club.I put ground beef, quinoa and mushrooms in a bowl in the toaster oven. I went outside to read. It tried to rain on me, but I sat under the eves and the few droplets that fell did not reach me. Then I came in to eat and to listen to Mike Adams demonstrate his new AI called Enoch. I even sent it a query. I worked on my blog and got ready for Game Night at Michelle's.
When I arrived, I gave her some cheese squares and sweet potato leaves as a snack. Casey had Indiana Jones on the TV. I loaded my game and was surprised to find Indy was still at the airport. So I memorized the bi-plane instructions then got in the plane and took off. Indy got shot down, and borrowed a car which went directly to the first guard stop. The game would not let me save. The guard decided to fight and Indy lost. So I had to take off in the bi-plane again. This time I saved the game right after the crash. Then I had to go through 7 guard stops. But I had notes, so I made it.
Then I was supposed to save again at the cave. But I forgot. So I went in, watched Dad get shot, then got caught in a loop trying to go through the cave and getting sliced. Michelle called up a walkthrough on her phone and I saw where to click. Then Indy had to walk across lettered tiles. That wasn't too bad. Finally he had to walk across a chasm. Without hesitation. So he died and went back to the shooting, dodged the spinning blades again, and walked across the alphabet, then quickly across the chasm. Finally it was time to choose a grail. I had him choose the wooden one, but apparently that wasn't the one the game picked. I choose wisely the second time. Indy brought it out to save his father, then Else took it and tried to leave. She fell in a chasm. Indy picked up the grail and gave it back to the knight. Then the game was over.
Casey had some other games. So I tried one called Rama. I didn't get very far, just introductory stuff. Casey sent me a walk-thru, but it was too close to 11. I texted John, but he didn't know the game. I shut it down. We talked a bit, and I went home. Chris was still up. I prepared for bed and laid down. Sometime later, he joined me.
