Saturday
I got up at 8, not having slept well at all. RLS dogged me all night. Adding magnesium didn't help, for some reason. The homeopathic remedy did help a little, but I had to take it twice.
I got ready for the day. It was cool, so I left the watering for later. I read e-mail for a bit, then asked Chris for a massage. We went to the back for that. Then I took a shower and he took his.
I ate fiber gel, then wanted to lay out. But the sky was overcast. I sat outside and read. Then I made and ate breakfast.
I checked Facebook for responses to Sewing Class. Then I went to the chapel to set up. I had two machines set up when the Clarks arrived. Sophia wasn't there so two machines were enough. I helped Wilhelm with his shower mat binding, then discovered the bobbin was a little too tall. But Moira was the first to finish. It was a tough project for them and he had trouble concentrating on the work.
Sewing class ended late. I brought home the rhythm worksheet. I used it to make copies, and they printed perfectly. Sigh. I made supper and ate it. It meant to water but forgot.
At 7 I went to the chapel for Project Night. Casey and Cedric were waiting. He mentioned the overgrown rosebush that obstructs the sidewalk. I set up for sewing. He set up the game. Cedric said he had a bag of projects to work on.
I was waiting for the Rhythm class people to arrive when I remembered the shears in my trunk. I clipped the rosebush. Janet arrived and helped. Then she and I practiced rhythms together. Sophia joined in when she arrived. Then we all went to the fellowship hall for Project Night. While ladies were machine-sewing, I picked up a needle to make some corrections on my bath mat.
Michelle was playing Mario 2 and had 15 extra lives when suddenly the power went out and the emergency lights came on. I tried to call Chris, but the cell tower was down. I wondered if this was how the end of the world starts. But in a few minutes, the cell tower came up. I called Chris. He said he was on his way to work to find out the problem. We sat around and chatted, thinking the power would be on soon. But finally we all packed up to go home.
It was raining. That might have had something to do with the power outage. When I got home, Chris was there. I lit a candle. I called Michele to see if they needed a candle. We dressed the bed in clean sheets. Chris elected to lay on the couch to be near his phones when they beeped with messages. I got ready for bed. I pulled out my solar cube and set it where I could reach it in the middle of the night. Then I blew out the candle and went to bed. I considered buying another round of solar lamps to hand out. I also wondered if we should check on people. But then, they were probably in bed since there was nothing else to do.
I heard a beep and then the street lights came on. A little while later, Chris came to bed. He said we were on base-wide generator power. Then RLS kicked in and it was another rough night.
