Talent Night

Thursday

I got up before 8. I drank hydrogen water and electrolytes. I sorted some old mail. I got the sprinklers started and set the timer for 20 minutes. I made pu-er tea. I ate two hardboiled eggs with guacamole and pumpkin seeds. I filled empty capsules with marshmallow root extract and slippery elm bark, and threw cleaning cloths in the washer. I finished watching a tapping presentation.

At 10:30 I went to 5132 for a quote. Jamie wasn't there yet, but she arrived as I was looking around the apartment. It was much cleaner than we expected. So we quoted him $200. Afterwards, she and I talked in the parking lot. When I got home, I sent her a link to the tapping presentations. I called and scheduled an inspection for Monday for 48. Then I ate half of the fiber gel. I cut up a watermelon and froze the pieces.

I made breakfast and ate it while watching The Highwire. During it, Jamie called which reminded me of the signover at the place we quoted this morning. So I ran over there. We signed papers and he gave us cash, which I put in an envelop with the key. Then we left. But as I was driving away, Jamie ran up to say she left her purse in the apartment, so I gave her the key.

When I got home, I threw used cleaning cloths in the dryer. I laid out in the sun for 20 minutes, then finished watching The Highwire. I looked at bathmat videos to find the best way to make one. Other videos came up. I listened to one while while cutting up watermelon rind. I jotted notes for my blog. I searched my closet for towels that I wouldn't mind cutting up, but were not too stained or ragged. I looked up the dimensions needed.

I posted to Facebook for Talent Night, the got dressed for the event. I played a song on the better trombone and packed it in its case. I folded up the trombone stand and took both to the chapel. I helped Caleb carry out the electric keyboard to Keli's truck. Jenni and Keli carried out stands and Caleb went back for the amp. We all went to the ACS building to set up for Talent Night.

Only a few people came at first. We waited till past 6. Gary sang the song Killing Me Softly via karaoke. I tried to sing along, but since there were no chords, only a drumbeat, I couldn't get the tune right.

Once Chris showed up, more people had gathered. Gary introduced the band. We played three songs. Then Saronna read the story of Brer Rabbit. Then the colonel sang Karaoke. Michele and John sang a song. The band played again. Keli played. Some kids sang. The colonel's wife sang. A bunch of us gals sang Rainy Days and Mondays. Again, couldn't quite get the pitch. Then the band played one last song and it was over. Some people left, others hung around. Michele thought the Damour Four should sing next time.

After everyone had left the room, Chris and I talked to Gary, who was in charge. He said this event would happen once a quarter. Then we went home. I changed my clothes and worked on my blog. I was gratified to hear the sprinklers come on.

I heated tea and we watched one episode of Criminal Minds. The episode wrote the female investigator out of future shows. I made a grocery list and read e-mail, then went to bed.
