I got up after 8, not feeling energetic. I searched my old purses for cash to put money in the mail for the kefir grains I ordered. I got dressed and watered the plants. I rubbed arnica on my foot. I read e-mail and exercised while watching a video (but I don't remember which one). I juiced cucumbers and carrots. I made and ate breakfast. I was almost ready to go when Denise called wanting to order magnesium oil. I said I had a new bottle unopened, and she could come by the church to pick it up. I got to the church after 12:30. Half the parking lot was roped off. I wheeled my sewing stuff inside. I set up next to Bertha. I drew x's on half of my light squares. Then I pinned and sewed squares together on all 4 sides. I carefully cut on the lines and pressed them open. Denise stopped by to pick up magnesium oil. She took a pic of the hexecontahedron which I brought to show off, and various quilt projects in progress. She mentioned undercover videos of Planned Parenthood which I hadn't heard of. She said her father's foot was not doing so well. After she left, Sheryl came by, and later her husband. They asked about my foot. I guess they are ready for some more organizing. It was freezing in that room, so I started packing up to leave. Chris called while I was packing up, asked if I thought it was worth $800 for him to fly down here for the weekend. At the risk of insulting him, I said I didn't this it was, but would support him him in making a different decision. I finished a few conversations in the room, then went home. I got the mail, then ate tomatoes and sweet potato leaves. I sent the bills to Chris, then read e-mail. I watered plants because they were looking peaked. I looked online for the Planned Parenthood videos. I watched two of them and tried to watch the 3 hours version of one but … it was hard to hear. Chris had said he was going to call me back but I must have missed his call. I listened to part one of Dr. Gonzalez' really long lecture. I stopped it at 9 to watch an episode of X-Files while 'rice'ing my foot. Then I resumed listening to Dr. Gonzales. He spoke of healing with vitamins and minerals – separate sets depending on whether the sympathetic or parasympathetic system was dominant. He also said cancer comes from stem cells that go berzerk, and can be calmed by pancreatic enzymes. He gave all the historical references and credits to the people who discovered this. i got several Sudoku puzzles done and even took notes. When it was over, I e-mailed the link to Denise. Then I posted to my blog and went to bed.

New assignment
I lost the first part of my blog notes when I rebooted my computer. It needed it in order to get the DVD software working again. While it was rebooting, I took a shower and made breakfast. I ate it while reading the latest e-mail. Then I got dressed. By then it was too late to make the 9:30 discernment meeting. Did I mention that Chris called from DC this morning? Marie picked him up at the airport last night and she picked up Michele this morning. I did a few errands around the house and left on time for the 10:45 service. One of the errands was to fix Margie's top. It needed a flower sewn back on. It had been sewn with a bead in the center but I could not find a red bead anywhere, so I used a really small piece of red tape. I put it in a bag to give to her at church. As I stepped out of the house, I realized the plants needed their morning watering. As I did that, I got my feet wet and went to church that way. I got there in time to do deliver the bag and speak to a few people. Tamara left the two sheet sets I ordered in my pew. People asked me about them after church. I guess not many people knew her daughter was selling sheets as a fund raiser for cheerleading. After church, I went to Publix for groceries. I did not buy many because I already have food in the house and will be going to the farmer's market on Tuesday. I was amazed at all the different kinds of water for sale. What will they sell next? Air? When I got home and carried in the groceries, I also took vacuum out of the car. For lunch I ate an egg and 2 figs. I changed clothes, and went sewing. First I made a backing for the top I was turning in. Then I picked out squares to make the next pattern (as shown in the pic). Lynette regaled us with the tale of a conversation she had with her husband. William called while I was packing up. Then I went home to drop off my sewing machine and get some water. I drove to the church to meet Art to count the offering. I conversed with him as I worked. And the numbers did not add up. I found my mistakes, and still was $5 off. It turned out that one check was split two ways and did not cover both. So it wasn't my fault. Then we agreed to meet Tuesday to put the numbers on the computer. I drove home. I read e-mail, and looked at my quilts, wondering which ones to put in the show. We can only have 4. I asked Jeanne this morning if I could show the pulpit cloth with the dove and she said yes. I shredded the offering envelops and spread them on the garden.
Chris called so we talked until he fell asleep. I ate yucca root for supper. Then I meditated with rice on my foot. I checked on spider and saw that his web was bigger than ever. I drank lots of water, and put arnica on my foot. I tried to play a Dvd, but the software crashed. A different software program did not do any better. So I took the disc out and washed it. Then it played just fine in the first player. I watched one episode of X-Files and was mighty tempted to watch a second one. But I exited the program. I drank some epsom salt water. Blech! I posted to my blog and went to bed.

All the good water is gone
I stayed in bed through the alarm. Later, I turned on the laptop and router. I cleared some e-mail. I got dressed and put the tax bills in the mail. On the way back, I watered the plants. I brought in the houseplants on the front porch. I wrote two checks: one went in the mail and the other will go to church. I read the usual articles about cancer, gmo’s, depression, herbs, etc.
I looked for quilts I could enter in the quilt show, first on my blog, then on Pinterest, then in my quilt storage. I looked up the rules to see if my hexecontahedron fit any of the categories. I turned down the signature one I made for Chris last year because some of the people who signed it might not want it so public. Chris called from the San Francisco airport. He had been awake for 20 hours and was waiting for his flight to DC. I put on my suit and sun bathed. Then I got dressed and brought in the mail. That was when I found packages on the front porch – Swansons and Amazon – got my 100 pk size 12 needles for when I go to Korea, and the arnica cream. I rubbed some on my foot. I looked up ‘conta’ but did not find a good definition. I did find out that the hexecontahedron shape was found in a quasicrystal aggregate of Al6 Li3 Cu. I tried to research that, but kept getting sites that required a subscription fee. I wanted to know the physical properties that the configuration gave the substance. William called to say the mower batteries had arrived. I read an article on the hexecontahedron being derived from the triacontahedron – which had a beautiful drawing of 12 tria’s fitting into one hexe. I looked into buying kefir grains, but wondered what happens to them when we move? Starter packets are more expensive, but may travel better. Reviews say the kefir grains make better kefir than the starter packets. I ate a bowl of sprouts for supper. I looked into uses for mineral water. That search devolved into off-topics. I brought in the sheet from the garden. I washed the bedsheets first, in hot water, then I washed the rest of the laundry in cold water, When the sheets were done, I re-dressed the bed. I read an article about the importance of water in the diet and making ATP in the cells. I checked the back door at 8:10 – no spider, no web. I checked again at 8:30. He was sitting calmly in his completed web. I watched a talk by Dr. Gonzalez while drinking glass after glass of water: first the purified water, then the mineral water, and then filtered water. I tried to watch X-Files but the laptop would not run any of the programs that play DVD’s. I folded laundry while listening to a little more of Dr. Gonzalez’ 2 hour lecture. Then I took the next DVD back to the computer room and watched an episode there. Too late it occurred to me that that computer is not running f.lux which blocks blue light after sundown. I washed my feet, posted to my blog and went to bed.

Hydroponic Farm
I woke up cold. The thermostat read 80. I took a hot shower, and put on my fleece robe. I sat in my lounger to doze, but the cold persisted. Then I remembered my distilled water in the pot. I drank that and some filtered tap water from yesterday with a little ACV. I went back to the lounger and felt better. I tried the distilling again, this time using a bulgogi pan instead of the inverted pot lid. I swished, and took my supplements. I read an article that said smelling the sweat of happy people improves your mood. How happy can you be sniffing sweaty people?
I got dressed, took my vitamins, and exercised. I met Jennifer and Cecelia in a parking lot. We rode in Jennifer’s are to the hydroponics farm. The manager Sonia, gave us a tour. Afterward, I bought lettuce and beans. We all bought something. Jen dropped us off in the parking lot. On the way home, I stopped at CVS. They did not sell an ace bandage like Rhonda had, so I bought the next best thing plus purified water and mineral water.
When I got home, I put the lettuce in some of the water, since it still had roots. I read e-mail and listened to several book summaries. I made and ate breakfast. I worked tomorrow’s Sudoku puzzle. I brought in the mail – got tax and water bills for the property in Pinehurst. I could see that my neighbor was home, so I went over and asked to borrow his mower. He said any time, but he keeps it locked up so …? I mowed the ditches in the front, around one tree, then down the side by the ditch, then inside the fence (skirting the tree whose root ruined my mower) and then down by the garden. I added some gas to the tank and returned it to his shed. Then I was hot and sweaty so I came in for a drink and to check on my distilled water project. I have seen one online which uses two bottles, one painted black, set in the sun. So it must not need boiling in order to distill. I put on my suit and sunbathed, sweating quite well. I put the tax bills in an envelope to mail to the new owner as directed by Parker. I found some coconut flakes in the cupboard with a small hole in one corner of the bag. So I put some in a bowl, went outside and picked out the black flakes. I ate the rest. What was left in the bag got put in a jar. The other bags of coconut flakes went in a Tupperware container. I turned off the stove and let the distilled water cool. I took the bobbin donut downstairs and filled it with bobbins. I was able to fill the whole thing. Then I went outside to use the riding mower. It doesn’t do as good a job as the push mower but it’s the best I can do until I get a push mower and can mow it right. Then I needed a drink of water. I read about Nicholas Gonzalez, his work and his untimely death. He was a proponent of the autonomic nervous system diet. I picked some basil and made pesto. I went looking for Dr. Kelley’s questionnaire to determine diet type. i listened to a meditation while I ate frozen blackberries. Sadly I got some on my clothes so I put them in water to soak. I watched an episode of X-Files. Then I put the sock of rice on my foot and watched an interview with Cassandra who was medically kidnapped because she refused chemo in order to do alternative treatments. Then I posted to my blog and went to bed.

Ode to my mower
The alarm woke me up but I stayed in bed, not feeling like getting up. But by 8:30 I was at my laptop, reading e-mail and swishing. I was out of distilled water so I filled the pitcher from the shower filter. I looked up nocturnal spiders. Mine is probably an orb weaver, since they eat their web at daylight and re-spin it at night. To be certain, I would have to examine it closely, and that is not going to happen.
I unstacked the dishwasher. There were not enough recyclables to make it worth taking to the street, so I skipped that. I came across a pic of American Ginseng. I thought I had some growing in the back yard, but when I checked, it was a different plant. I juiced and meditated. It was almost noon so I skipped breakfast and went down to cut fabric to take to quilting. In my mind I wrote an ode to my lawn mower (with apologies to Terry Jacks):
Goodbye to you, my trusted friend
We’ve known each other since 2010,
Together we’ve mowed hills and trees.
Learned of blades and batteries,
Shunned wet grass and bumble bees.
We had joy,
We had fun,
We had seasons in the sun
But the root that you hit
Made your parts no longer fit.
Goodbye my friend, it’s hard to die
When grass is reaching to the sky.
Now that fall is in the air,
Weeds are everywhere.
I think of you, but you’re not there.
The phone rang, interrupting my thoughts. When I got upstairs, I called Jennifer back. She talked about making dark chocolate and stuff she bought from Swansons, and the hydroponic farm. I finished cutting the fabric, and took the pieces to Stitch-Its to sew. Rhonda said what I bought was not an ace bandage and she showed me how to wrap my foot with one she had. She recommended wearing it at night. William called to talk about mower parts. Christie showed me a funny video about a class of boys acting like they were synchronized swimmers. Marjory gave out muskadines from her yard.
It was almost three when I went home, made and ate breakfast. I looked at dark chocolate recipes, wondering what could substitute for cocoa butter. I tried the recipe that Jennifer did, but ground up cacao nibs, added honey, and then discovered we had no vanilla. So I added orange oil, but it was too much. Then I added some butter, but it was too hard. So I ate the rest of the watermelon while sitting in the sun and letting the butter melt. I mixed it again, and added lo han for extra sweetness. It was still not satisfactory. But I ate it with dates and it was ok then.
I listened to an audio and did today’s Sudoku puzzle. I cleared more e-mail and watched an audio on making acne gel with marigold flowers. I did tomorrow’s Sudoku puzzle. I went outside to trim the grass by the driveway. Then I hooked up the weedeater and mowed as much grass by the ditch as the cord would allow. I wrapped up the cord and put it away. Dusk was upon me, so I came in, checking the doorway for signs of spider web. I read an article about decluttering with the quote “Life is too short to be bossed around by dusty appliances.” I put the indoor plants outside for a breath of fresh air. I read over the map to the hydroponic farm. I took a stab at distilling water in a pot on the stove. I saw a light in my neighbor’s window so I went over there to ask about his mower, but he wasn’t home. As long as I was out there, I watered my plants for tomorrow since I have an early appointment. I laid out the large quilt blocks on the bed. I gathered them in order and went down to sew the first three seams. Then I brought them up to pin on the last set. I sewed them into rows and left it until tomorrow. I need to line up a longarmer if I want to enter it in the quilt show. I started watching X-Files. They dug up Mulder and he started breathing or something but still looked dead. Then Chris skyped me for the last time before traveling to DC. We talked about coco butter and his travel arrangements. I finished the episode and checked on my distilled water. I decided to leave it on the stove until tomorrow. Then I posted to my blog and went to bed.

Didn't crack a smile
I was having a dream when the alarm went off so I stayed in bed, but it slipped away. I did some tapping. I got up to turn on the router and the laptop. I drank some lemon water and checked e-mail. Kurt had written to me “Are you Sudoku for solar puffs?” It took me a while to get it. But really funny and worth sharing on my blog. I tried to read HR 3401 after getting an e-mail asking me to sign a petition to get congress to pass it. It wasn’t hard reading, but long and kind of tedious and I skimmed some of it. I followed the detox protocol as I had it written, and made notations for future tweaks. I wanted it to be so precise that I would not have to think while following it – then I can concentrate on the audios I listen to. After the protocol, I made a paste with the facial mask stuff from yesterday and added DE and bentonite. I spread that on my face and let it dry, then washed it off at the sink. It needed more papaya seed for scrubbing action. I had put a plate of seeds out yesterday to dry, but there was a sudden rainfall today and they got soggy. So I put them in the oven to dehydrate. I also put out the collection tubs, but the rain stopped soon after. When it rains, it pours, but not for long. After washing off the facial, I put on a little coconut oil for moisturizing I worked today’s Sudoku puzzle. I read a scary article on the spread of bed bugs and lyme disease. I took a shower, then stacked and ran the dishwasher. I made some turmeric root tea. I put the vacuum cleaner in the car. I drove to the bank to deposit a check for escrow overage. Why that wasn’t included in the payoff calculation, I don’t know – unless the mortgage company wanted to keep our money a little longer. Then I went to the sew-n-vac for a hose. After quite some time looking for one that fit, they said they would have to order one and the plastic thingy in the back was cracked. As it was, the vacuum was of no use even upright because of the open end. I decided the army owed me another vacuum because it wasn’t in that shape when I sent it with Chris. I bought a round bobbin saver and a Row-by-row license plate (which they will mail to me when it comes in). And I went home. My foot hurt more to drive than to walk. When I got home, I left the vac in the car. I drank the rest of the turmeric tea. The dishwasher was finished and I took my comb out, all nice and clean. I was cleaning up the paper from the Amazon box and felt a stabbing pain in my lower back. So I sat in my most comfortable chair and meditated with Oprah and Deepak. I had icy rice on my foot, too. After it was over, I used the pulp from the tea to make a poultice for my foot. I put a paper towel over it and used the Ace bandage to keep it in place. I wanted to wash the sheets after reading the bed bug article, but I was afraid I could not get the sheets on the bed again because of my back. I read article on how to energize a home. One suggestion was to sing and/or play loud upbeat music. So I went to Youtube for a couple of songs, then got sidetracked, and wasted all afternoon. One video proclaimed that watermelon was good for the kidneys. Since I hadn’t eaten all day and I had a watermelon, I tried to eat the whole thing. That would have been convenient since I did not have room in the fridge for it. But I couldn’t quite make it. I checked for the spider several times. I did not catch him in the act of spinning the web. He just appeared, web and all, at some point after dark. I started watching an episode of X-files. Chris skyped me and I asked him if the spider was keeping me in or keeping other people out. I asked him to sing me a song and he did. Then I finished the episode. It ended with Mulder found dead in a field. I wrote my blog post, cleaned up a few things in the kitchen, and went to bed.

Big Debut
I woke up but stayed in bed until the alarm went off. I turned on the router and the laptop. I added alcohol to the alcohol/water solution so it would not quite freeze. I dressed and went outside to water the plants. I used the last of the mineral solution. When I came in, I did my exercises. I called William about the mower. He said he’d call me back at lunch time with part numbers. I washed off and changed clothes. I put my creation in a box to take to quilting. When I got there, I showed off my hexecontahedron. It got good reviews, except so many ladies asked what I am going to do with it now. I said sometimes the journey is the destination. I sat and talked to Jodi, who had moved away and then back to Huntsville. She and I prayed together. Beverly offered to get me some fabric license plates on the field trip tomorrow. From there, I went to the Asian store but they had moved to a different store-front. So I drove to the other end of the parking lot. When I got inside, the lady told me that the kimbap lady was on vacation so no kimbap until next week. Bummer. When I got home, I brought in the mail, then worked a Sudoku puzzle. I called Sharon, our rental agent, to see if she knew someone who could mow the lawn. I read e-mail, made and ate breakfast. I called William to get the part numbers. I ordered batteries for the mower. Then I sat outside with icy rice on my foot. About 3 I put on sturdy shoes to go to farmer’s market. I parked across the railroad tracks and walked carefully over. I returned the goat milk jars and talked to the owner about cheesemaking. Then I talked to the lady at the beef place for some time. She said she had a request for fresh cow dung and another for bull testicles, so I shouldn’t think I make the oddest requests she’s ever had. I bought cucumbers and peppers from one stand and tomatoes from another. $4 for two tomatoes! They would be cheaper from the hydroponic man but he did not come today. William called to say the mower company makes a special charger that will charge the mower without removing the battery. I brought my foods home and put them in the fridge. Then I read e-mail, and put coconut oil in my hair for overnight conditioning. I ate a papaya, although I only intended to eat part of it. I put some of the rind and seeds in the Magic Bullet with honey, lemon, whey and bentonite clay. I made a face mask and sat outside to let it dry, then came in to wash it off. All of a sudden, it was raining. I combined photo files on my laptop to make the list shorter. I took and posted pics of the hexecontahedron to Facebook. Then I meditated. I posted one of the pics on Pinterest, but the Pinterest site was apparently not interested because it gave me a really hard time. I ate a yucca root while reading e-mail. I worked on the in-between blocks downstairs, not quite finishing them because I had cut several pieces half an inch too short. Then I came up to watch an episode of X-Files. I was excited to read new comments on my Facebook post. Finally I posted to my blog and went to bed.
* Just a note about yesterday's blog: the solar puff is a light that charges in the sun and will shine all night if turned on. It folds flat and weighs next to nothing. *
