Sunday
Chris' alarm went off at 7 and he got up. I stayed in bed till 7:30. I got up and went out to see if I needed to run the sprinklers. But the ground looked damp. So I watered a few plants, and checked for something online. Then I joined Chris and we went to pick up Michele. Then three of us went to the gym. Michele and I worked out on machines. Chris carried weights up and down the hall. Then he and Michele used the treadmills. Finally we took her home and went home ourselves.
I watered the rest of the plants. I worked on the cover letter that Michelle wrote. I tried to keep it like she wrote it but with the few additions that were expected. I put it on a thumb drive.
I ate fiber gel, then laid out in the sun and read. Then I came in and made and ate breakfast. Afterward, I got ready for church. Chris took a shower. I took the cheese squares and headed to church. I had left the music and trombone there last night.
I left the cheese squares on the back table. I spoke to several people. I assembled my trombone. Chris showed up and spoke to some new people I saw in the back. I think they are here for the paving project. Later he joined me up front.
Keli led the praise songs. Then the visiting chaplain Jeff, led us in communion. He followed that with a sermon. Then Keli and I went up for the hymns. When Jenni and Leliani and Doc had joined us, I announced the first hymn and we played it. Then I announced the second one and we played that too. The chaplain said a few words and a prayer. That concluded the service. There was chatting all around.
After Chris left, I told Jenni that I wanted to show her the letter and see what she thought. So I took her home while her husband ran a quick errand. I put the thumb drive in the tower and called up the file. As she read it, her husband came home and read it too. His opinion was that we should let Michelle write her own letter. Jenni invited me to water aerobics.
I went home to hydrate and change clothes. Then I went to the pool to join Jenni. No one else had come so we had the pool to ourselves. We exercised and talked to the lifeguards. Then we got out, dried off and headed to the parking lot. There we got a good look at the cherry trees. They had so many tall suckers that it looked terrible. So I got a pair of clippers from my trunk and we cut down most of them. It was hard work so we didn't get it all done.
I went home. Chris was heating up supper for me. After we ate, it was time for the game to start. The others signed in. We chatted a bit about other things, then started discussing the game. It seemed to me that there was no action happening. They were discussing what the next move should be, how to handle this or that. There was very little dice rolling. I got bored and started looking at art videos to find something suitable for a community project. But after the game ended, Chris told me that we did indeed move the story line along.
We discussed that for awhile, then I made tea and we watched an episode of Criminal Minds. He read a chapter from the devotional book and we started answering the questions. We got off on a tangent and it sparked quite a discussion. I tried to explain the difference between two people having a conversation that moves in tandem, and two people conversing and butting heads. But he could not understand that. He thought we were doing the first but to me it felt like we were doing the second. Finally he went to bed and I sat down to write my blog.
