Rally Day

I woke up just before 7, much to my surprise. I took a shower and went through my closet looking for something casual but not too casual for an outdoor service. I settled on my white reception dress. The elastic around the top has stretched out over the years (it'll be 24 next month), so I got a needle and thread to sew it to my bra straps. I did some tapping for having a fun and relaxed day. I made and ate breakfast while reading e-mail. When I took my supplements, I decided to check the fermenting cabbage jars. I saw mold on two of them. I scraped it off, and pushed the cabbage under the juice. But then I was late. I grabbed my music, instrument and stand, and went to church. We (the praise band) practiced outside under the tent. Between the large fans and the wind, our music kept blowing away. After praise band practice, I practiced with the choir. Then I ran out to the car to get the quilt I am donating to the church to raise money for the intern fund. On the way out, I saw Shannon who moved away in January. When I got back from handing off the quilt, it was time to play for the prelude. My trombone was in place on its stand, so once I got the music clipped to the stand, we were ready. It went passingly well. Then the service started. The choir sang early in the service, which was good. Jennifer introduced me to her husband who goes to a different church. After the service, I packed up my trombone. I followed Jeanne out to her car. She had made a dove to put on the pulpit cloth that I had made. We took it to the sanctuary to hold up in place and discuss binding and hanging. She left it with me to bind. Then I went outside to find out about the game I was supposed to run. I was given a verbal set of rules, and a handful of tickets. I grabbed a chair to sit on under the umbrella that was provided. The intern and a little boy were playing the bean bag game. I gave them each a ticket even though neither got a bean bag through the hole. Personally I thought the forms were too far apart. Two other boys came to play. I gave them tickets just for getting close. Really, the point of the game was to hand out tickets which could be redeemed for prizes. So I found reasons to give them. Mostly I sat there with little to do. Shannon came over and we got to catch up. She might be staying in the area for awhile! When my shift was up, I headed home to change (the remaining elastic in my dress was losing its strength in the heat and sweat) and to get a fresh camera battery, and to pick up a piece of acrylic to hold my music on the stand. I had been told that we (the praise band) were playing at 1. But Jen called me on my way home to say they were ready and where was I. So I rushed to complete the task and get back. By then, Jennifer the choir director was singing John Denver songs and playing guitar. She was done about 1, but then the bingo started. So I went to the food table and made a salad from the hamburger fixings. Then Jennifer and her husband came over with a small plate of something Turkish that he had made. It was a thank you gift because I had sponsored him in a charity run in Canada. It was quite good. I ate about 1/3rd. Then the praise band was ready. Having the acrylic sheet over the music helped SO much. The three songs went well. And then I was done. It took me two trips to carry everything out to the car. Then I went to Publix for a few groceries. When I got home, I threw the veggies in the fridge and ate the rest of the Turkish food. Then I rolled my sewing stuff out to the car and drove to the church on the corner where the ladies were making Linus quilts. There weren't any spots near the wall to set up, but Bertha said she was done sewing and I could use her machine while she pressed and cut. I worked on the blue quilt pattern presented back in July. I got to pick fabric scraps out of the trash. The ladies wanted to know what I did with the scraps so I told them about the scrap rugs. One lady was particularly interested so I invited her to follow me home. She had come with someone else, so they both came to my house to see my fabric collection and the rugs. We had a great time discussing fabric and other cultures and so forth. They hated to leave, but had a long ways home. I needed to mow, which I did after eating some cherry tomatoes. Then afterward I ate a sweet potato and the rest of breakfast that I left to mix with fiber powder and coconut milk later. I brought up some tennis balls to rest my head on, sort of like a product called the Still Point Inducer. I listened to an audio and wrote notes to my blog. I looked up Canadian recipes and did not find anything useful for an after-church function. Chris came online and Skyped me. After more than an hour, we hung up. He went to bed, and I continued my search for Canadian recipes.

Laundry Day

Last night I unloaded the dishwasher before I went to bed. But I was not able to sleep because of digesting my last meal – hummus, garlic clove, coconut oil, and an avocado. I did some tapping and prayed not to vomit. Eventually I sat in the den for awhile so I wouldn't be lying down. When I heard a roach crawling on the counter, I slapped at him and missed. Then I realized I was feeling better and went to bed.
I woke up the next morning, knowing the alarm wouldn't ring and guessing it wasn't 8 o'clock yet. But I was wrong. When I got up, it was quarter to 9. I decided to set my phone alarm to ring tomorrow and discovered how to make it ring on the weekends. Gee, you'd think info like that would be in the manual! I swished, and took my pre-breakfast supplements. I cleared e-mail, and listened to several audios. I watered the plants inside the fence. I read a pdf on EMF and RF sensitivity, and all the places they can be found in a home. I juiced carrots, tomatoes and sweet potato vine. I drank it with sea salt, baking soda and ionic minerals. Then it was time for breakfast. I finished the pdf, and played another short audio. I got out the mower and cut half of the front lawn. I expected to get further since I had raised the deck. I brought in the mail and there was one bill. I sent Chris the bill info. Then I went back out to do some trimming along the edges of the driveway. When I came in, I realized that I hadn't submitted the Amazon order from yesterday. At the bottom of the page, other products were listed, including freshly harvested miswak. That intrigued me so I had to look it up. It is a special tree twig for cleaning teeth. I read articles at the electricsense site. I wanted some softboiled eggs and figured if I cracked them into hot water, I could tell when they were just right. So I did, but they did not cook in one piece. Instead, I had egg soup. It made a mess in the water, and I lost some egg that way. I read that a person can check electric fields with a portable AM radio. So I got a boombox from the basement, and tuned it to then AM band between stations. It was not exactly portable since I had to plug it in (did not have 10 D cell batteries). I went looking for rf fields with the Ghostbusters theme playing in my head. Not sure if it being plugged in affected the outcome. Then I went into the basement to get my gauss meter. It told me that there was an intense field around the breaker box and the fluorescent lights in the sewing room. And any time I pointed it up or down, it registered a strong field. I am not sure what that signified. Anyway, since I was in the basement, I started working on the red banner project. I worked with the next value of red on the second row. I stopped abruptly when I realized that the day light was waning and I still hadn't mowed a second time. So I rolled out the mower, cleaned the grass clumps from earlier, and did as much of the rest of the front yard as I could. I put the mower up and came inside for a drink. I saw in a Facebook post how someone stored their fabric folded over hanging files in a file cabinet. Seemed like a pretty cool idea. I read several chapters of Clear Body, Clear Mind. I refilled my coconut oil containers, read about dianetics on internet, and started laundry when I finally remembered that it was laundry day. I went through my music for tomorrow and practiced. One sheet was missing and I can't figure out how it got away. Michele skyped me and then Chris joined in. We had a nice chat and then I had to hang up, go get the laundry out of the dryer, and go to bed.

Dressed in red

Last night I went to the breaker box and turned off everything except the fridge, the water heater and the AC. I did not need the AC but its breaker did not want to move. Then I went to bed. I fell asleep sooner than in the past few nights. But when I woke up, I cannot say I felt any different. I contemplated whether I could live with so many things turned off, and decided no, so I turned the breakers back on. Then I fired up my computer. I read some e-mail, and got dressed. I took out the recyclables and the Netflix movie that came yesterday. I did not watch it and still cannot figure out how it got in my queue. I watched Dr. Cassava in a Youtube video making his morning connectivity drink. I watched several of his other videos, too, making fermented veggies. I looked up shortcuts on Firefox to try to figure out why the down arrow in e-mail acts like a 'page down' key. No luck there. I listened to an audio on double helix water, but I didn't understand why it was supposed to be so wonderful. While listening, I was exercising and juicing, watering, and cleaning up. I made breakfast and started stacking the dishwasher. I cleared e-mail, then found two posts about the page-down shortcut. One answer was to press F7, but that started playing my CD. The other was to press SCROLL-Lock, but I couldnt find any key with that label. I read a pdf about the 21 best detox diets. I ran the dishwasher, and prepared vitamins for the next week. I got online to order more, but left the items in my cart hoping the company will send me a coupon to finish the deal. I put some of the items on amazonsmile.  I wrote myself a list of everything I need to do on Sunday for Rally Day.  I hope I did not forget anything.  I went outside to mow. I did the side yard and then moved to the part where I lay out in the sun. While I was mowing, my neighbor mowed along the edge of his yard and then through the back of mine where all the brush was growing (up until Monday when I mowed it down). I guess I didn't mow it short enough 'cause he went through it several times, mowing a little shorter each time. I mowed as much of the mid-back yard as my mower battery would allow. Then I plugged it in, and retired to my sewing room. I sewed red strips to muslin squares, trying to keep the color value consistent and fan out the strips. My foot pedal kept running fast and at one point the needle hit something hard and broke. It was not a pin, so had to be either the foot or the bobbin. When I finished the row of 6 squares, I came up for a bite to eat, and wait for Chris. When he arrived online, he called me, but we had a lot of connection problems, so ended the call early. I cleared a couple more e-mails, and then posted to my blog, intending to go to bed.

I swear I was busy all day...

Last night I couldn't sleep so I decided on a change of venue and went into the basement. Somehow it worked. I woke up before the alarm, and was upstairs reading e-mail when it went off. Jennifer called. She told me what a long wait she had at the DMV yesterday to get her new license. I bought the kindle version of a book on the effects of electrical fields on modern society on Amazon and had trouble getting it to the tablet and then reading it. I found my CD titled “Effortless Efficiency”. I played it while exercising and juicing. I listened to short videos on EMF effects until almost noon. I was just about to walk out to my car to go to quilting when Denise called. She told me about her trip, and then William called so I hung up with her. He said the new car cover arrived and it fit.  I notified the company.  I tried to lay out in the sun and read my kindle book but sun went behind a cloud and I could not make out the words anyway. I finally got an e-mail back from Chris who said he simply went to bed as soon as he got in last night. I called Parker and we talked about what kind of offer MIGHT be acceptable from our tenants and if not, they have to be out by the 15th. We also sent test e-mails back and forth to see if there is a problem with any of her addresses because the e-mails don't always show up. I called Denise back and we talked about the rental property. I recharged my phone, and then called Dad because I found a message from him, but apparently it was an old one. I looked up EMF ratings for cars, and mine puts out a pretty low field comparatively. I tried to confirm that what the rental agent told me was true (that the tenants COULD NOT get a loan from any bank without two years of tax returns so if I want to sell to them I have to wait 2 years).  I still don't know.  Finally I did lay out in the sun. I checked the mail and found the paper quilting pieces and templates for La Passacaglia came in the mail. I mowed in the back yard. I picked cherry tomatoes, 2 small cucumbers, and 1 regular tomato so I will have something to juice tomorrow. I put the fruit fly trap outside because some of the little buggers are finding their way back out. I studied the breaker box to see what circuits I could live without in the interest of cutting down my exposure to dirty electricity. Much of the labeling was hard to read and not one word about bedroom circuits. Parker had asked for a list of what we left in the garage so the tenants would not take that with them. I wrote down what I could think of, and then looked for old pics to help me remember. But they were nowhere to be found on the desktop so they must have gotten lost when the harddrive died. I got off track reading XKCD comics on the desktop. I played through a piece for tonight, and took a shower. I turned the AC back on. I ate a sweet potato then packed my trombone to go to practice. I got there a few minutes early. Doris suggested that with all the time on my hands I should take classes. I told her my schedule was full. She said she had to learn to say no, and so should I. I guess she did not realize that I was telling her 'no'. After practice Jennifer and I worked on the really fast piece so I could get my part in sync with the keyboard. Then I followed Jennifer home to find out where she lived so maybe I can watch Project Runway with the girls another time. She had a birthday cake for Tamara that needed writing. I was happy to do that. Then I drove home and skyped Chris. After he hung up, I re-created my day for the daily blog post. Then I turned stuff off and went to bed.

Fruit flies in captivity

I was awake when the alarm went off so I got up right away. I checked the fruit fly trap, and was pleased to see some trapped. I vacuumed the fan ports on the laptop and fired it up. It gave me a System Event Notification Service error. I had to look that up and it did not help. I saw that Netflix was going to send me a movie that I have seen before and did not want. There was no way to tell it not to. I added X-files episodes to my queue. I pulled up the coffee detox protocol. As I was doing that, Dad called to ask about calcium chews. I answered his question as best I could. Then I finished what I was doing and laid out in the sun but not for long because of the cloud cover. I watered my plants and gave them minerals. I juiced sweet potato vine, carrots, zucchini, tomato, and lettuce. The lettuce was from the hydroponics vendor and had roots attached. So I left a few leaves on and sat the roots in water, just in case it might get new growth. I drank some colostrum. I made and ate breakfast. I got out a big head of cabbage to make sauerkraut. In the video it looked easy, but that cabbage was hard! I was lucky I did not cut myself while trying to hack it to pieces. When I was done, there was cabbage all over the floor. It made such a big pile that I had to mix it (with salt) in a large tub. I added onions like in the video, and packed it tightly in jars. I visited the mailbox, but it was empty. I cooked three sweet potatoes, and ate one with butter and cinnamon. I took a shower, then read e-mail wrapped in a towel. I got dressed and packed my tablet and went to choir practice. We practiced music for the next two Sunday's. We were supposed to have an ice cream social, but no one stayed. I came home, and checked e-mail, waiting for Chris on skype. Firefox wanted to install a new version, so I gave up and worked on writing a trombone part for a transposed song for tomorrow night. I checked one last time for Chris, then wrote to my blog and went to bed.

This trap comes highly recommended

When I went to turn off the router last night, I passed my trombone. I hadn't really practiced it, so I took the opportunity. Then I went to bed. I was unable to sleep, and at some point realized that I had not finished the job I intended to do. So I had to get up to turn the router off. This morning I heard the alarm but waited it for It to finish before I got up. I was sleeping with my head at the foot of the bed and my feet on the pillow. I had trouble sleeping last night so it was very tempting to stay in bed. I drank some water and started a 20 minute oil swish. Last night lying in bed, I was feeling overwhelmed and asked my angels for an idea on how to prioritize my day into something more productive. Then this morning I got the idea of seeing what my morning would look like if I did not read e-mail or get on the internet. So, instead of turning on the router, I swept and vacuumed the floors in the diningroom, kitchen, den and hallway. Fortunately I was able to take notes for my blog without the benefit of internet. I made of list of things I need to do contribute to the feeling of overwhelm. I wrote a check and put it in the mail with the Netflix movie. I was very happy that the two consecutive days of no mail service are over. I scanned some music into MS Paint to remove all the notes I don't need and to try to get it down to two pages. When I noticed the time, I quickly juiced, and cleaned up, then went to the bank for cash. I swung by the Asian store for kimbap, and then fill the tank with gas. I arrived at the massage place just in time to write in the gas book and then get my massage. She worked on my tight left side, both the back and the arm. I shared some of my kimbap with her. She offered me an hour of ear acupuncture for $20. It sounded like a good deal so I accepted. But laying there was uncomfortable because of the pillow. When it was over, my back was stiff again, so she kneeded it out. On the way to the farmer's market, I stopped at another Asian store for a young coconut. Then at the farmer's market, I bought a dozen pastured eggs, and a beef tongue. When I got home I had to water the plants in pots. I ate the rest of my kimbap with kimchi while I checked e-mail. Then I worked on cutting and pasting the sheets of music together to make two sheets. I listened to an audio on dirty electricity and its effect on mortality rates.  The speaker alluded to a device that plugs in the wall as a solution, but did not elaborate.
Jennifer called to talk about a sample kit she bought and a new massage place. I listened to an audio with David Wolfe. He is studying the health effects of different pigments. He said to eat orange foods to fight inflammation. While listening, I pulled extra paper from the paid bills and consolidated the important parts into less space. I practiced the music I taped together to make sure it was readable and accurate. I went through my online junk mail folder 'cause our real estate agent says her e-mails might have gotten lost. I did not find any from her, so all I know is what she wrote today. I was doing a meditation when Chris skyped me. He is taking a conversational Spanish course. After he hung up, I looked up fruit fly traps and made one.  I read more e-mail and posted to my blog.  I can't wait to see how many flies get caught tonight.

Another day, another commitment

I got up before the alarm went off, but it still woke me up. Apparently I laid down again in the process of getting dressed. I turned on the router, played a few notes on my trombone, then cleared e-mail. I brought in the rain water. While filtering it and running it through the coffee maker, I listened to an audio on the benefits of phycocyanin (the blue pigment in spirulina). I looked it up online, then on Swanson's. I put mint tea and white tea bags in the jars of hot rain water. I saw fruit flies so I took out the garbage. I looked up how to get rid of fruit flies. I put vinegar and liquid soap in a small jar and let it sit out to catch them. I exercised, juiced, and meditated. I made and ate breakfast. I packed my sewing stuff, and went to church. I worked on Barbara's quilt with Bertha. I agreed to help Jody with community outreach at the big guild. I came home about 4:15. I ate had some hummus with coconut oil, and checked e-mail briefly. Then I went outside to rub coconut oil on the tomatoes to see if that will slow down the black spot virus. One tomato cage had fallen over and would not stand back up because the tomato vines had all grown to one side. So I got some fabric strips to tie it to the cage next to it. I used more strips to tie up vines that had grown up over the cage and down the sides. Then I walked to the easement at the back where the pokeweed grows. I dug out the bigger ones, then got out the mower and chopped it all down to size. My next door neighbor offered to spray it all with Roundup, but I declined. Then I took the mower over under the trees where I never mow 'cause it is mostly dead leaves. I mowed all the little stuff trying to come up there. Then I cut back the four o'clocks which were old and falling over from the weight of the rain. I know from previous experience that they will not stand back up, but they will regrow. I swept that debris onto the yardwaste pile by the carport. I was pretty sweaty then and thought I might have come in contact with poison ivy, so I took a shower right away. I did not know what to wear, so I put on my nightgown since I was done for the day. Then I called my dad to wish him a happy Labor Day. He told me how he hired someone to clean the gutters and put on a gutter guard, but they hadn't done it yet. Then he had to get his dinner, and I had to get mine. I ate the last piece of beef tongue. I drank some white tea, and watched a TED talk by a lady comedienne who was Arabic and had CP. Chris skyped me. I got sleepy and nearly dozed off, but still had to post to my blog. I kept thinking of things I wanted to look up, but it was time to post and go to bed.
