No phone service

I got to bed very late, so when morning came, I pulled the towel over my eyes and went back to sleep. I got up at 8:30. I drank water with baking soda in it. Then I made the lemon solution. I brushed my teeth and washed some of the dishes in the sink. Then I read outside for a little more than half an hour. I came in for another drink, and soaped up the big black pot in the sink. I turned on the router and started reading e-mail.

Around 11:30, I walked down to Housing. The ladies there were very attentive. Suzi gave me a scraper and would not let me pay for it. So I asked for a comment sheet so I could leave a positive review. When I got home, there was a dozen eggs at my doorstep. CJ had stopped by to deliver them and I wasn't here to pay her. I sent her an e-mail and she said Chris could pay her since she sees him at work.

I made breakfast, then remembered to water the plants. I have them in 5 places and I hit all 5 zones. I ate breakfast while reading e-mail. I placed both traps near each other, hoping the gopher would hit one. I baited the traps with peanut butter. Then I mowed until I felt raindrops. I put away the mower and came inside. (It never rained). I read e-mail and watched a video. Then the doorbell rang and it was Jenni. She came over because the phones are out. We talked for hours, and she invited me to water aerobics, which she is just starting this week at the pool.

I checked the traps: the ants found one, the other was full of dirt. I washed my hands and ate some things from the fridge to use them up. I made a big salad. Then Chris came home from work. Finally I made tea, and we watched two episodes of Quantum Leap. Chris went to bed, but I listened to podcasts, then posted to my blog and went to bed.

Farewell luncheon

I woke up early, when the sprinklers came on. But I could only see one, in the backyard. I watered plants, then read for half an hour. I turned on the router and started reading e-mail.

Chris came home about 11:30. I put on nicer clothes. We went to the community club for a farewell dinner for the colonel. Chris introduced me to a bunch of people. Lunches were delivered in plastic to-go boxes. We sat with Johnnie and Brian and others. We started eating. After much conversation, a lady came around to pick up trash. Then the program began. Lots of people came up to say a few words and hand the colonel a memento. They said really nice things. You'd have thought he had been here for 20 years, not just 2. It lasted about an hour and a half, including two videos. Afterward, Chris introduced me to the lawyer and to the videographer.

Chris brought me home and went back to work. I jotted notes for my blog. I started deleting e-mail by sender since unread e-mails were almost to 1000. I worked outside with gopher traps, but the darned creature kept covering them with dirt. I listened to the last interviews from the dental summit. Chris came home, and said lawyer told him Army had nothing to do with the people on the cleaning list. It was purely a contract between the occupant and whoever agrees to do the cleaning.

I made and ate breakfast for supper. I went to the garden with three gallons of water. I discovered the water was back on. Yea! When I got home, I unburied the gopher traps, then made tea.

We watched two episodes of Quantum Leap. I brushed my teeth. I swished while listening to a lawyer recount the illegal patents filed by CDC and pharmaceutical companies, and the timeline showing patents were filed for treatments before the disease was identified. 73 patents were filed before 2019 on attributes of this supposedly unique virus. Ace2 receptor had dozens of patents filed before 2020.

Still no water

We got up about 8:30. I read outside for half an hour. Then I watered the plants, and checked e-mail. When I finished the Sunday supplement routine, I washed up and got ready for church.

We got to the chapel with time to talk. We sang songs at the beginning of the service. The chaplain talked about murder ( as in thou shalt not) and anger. He seemed to be against feeling angry. After the service, I talked to Diane and Eileen. Then we went home and changed clothes. I made breakfast while Chris made lunch and started gaming with the voices, including Michele's. Johnnie called to say Brian had my mower battery ready. I searched all around for my wallet, then went over after breakfast. Brian had the new battery packs (which he had ordered from Amazon) and the old ones. I paid him but did not have exact change. He sent his son to carry the old one home for me. I put the new one in the mower and started it up. Adam went home to tell his father that it worked.

I picked and ate my first tomato. I listened to talks from the dental summit. I got sleepy and took a nap. I didn't sleep much. I mowed the back yard, which really needed it. Then I went to the garden to feed and water the plants. The water pipes were still not active, and no sprinklers were on. Perhaps I missed them.

When I got home, I made a salad and ate it while listening to interviews from the dental summit. I looked up accordion music markings. I made tea and we watched two episodes of Warehouse 13. I brushed my teeth, got ready for bed, then sat down to write my blog.

Another one bites the dust

I got up at 8:30, feeling fine in spite of having gone to bed late. I made lemon water but the lemon skin was so thick that I did not get much juice out of the pulp. I read outside for half an hour, then read e-mail inside. Around 11, Chris gave me a coconut oil massage. Afterward we talked for a bit. He showered while I made seed crackers. Then I showered while he put turkey and the seed crackers in the oven. After my shower, I made and ate breakfast. I laid out in the sun for awhile.

I moved the trap, then dug up other gopher mounds. I watered grass, and planted some seedlings in the flowerbed. I checked a trap and caught a gopher. I called to Chris, who took it away.

When I came in, I saw that Chris had deboned the turkey and left the bones for me. I picked them clean as I listened to interviews. Chris made supper with the leftover turkey meat and a can of coconut milk curry. After supper I went to the garden with three gallons of water. The water was not back on, but there were new fittings on the broken pipes. I tried to water parts of Rusty's garden but the ground was too hard and dry to soak up the water. I stopped at the post office and picked up a package and a DVD from Netflix. When I got home, I gave the DVD to Chris.

I watered the grass where it needed encouragement on the other side of the house. I made tea and took the food waste out to the compost pile. Then we watched two episodes of Warehouse 13. I fell asleep on the couch, and woke up to post to blog. Then we dressed the bed with clean sheets. I worked on the post for today, then went to bed.

For want of a screw

Chris got up early and went to work as usual, even though he usually doesn't have to work on Fridays. I got up near 8, made lemon water and watered the plants. I read outside until 8:30, then came inside to drink water and read until 9. Then I turned on the router and looked at e-mail. I called the Damours to tell them about William.

I listened to interviews from the dental summit, then Chris came home from work. I finished the puzzle I was piecing and got ready to go shopping.

We drove to Tooele, listening to the book on CD. I fell asleep for a short while. We stopped at the bank to deposit some checks. Then we shopped at Luckey's. Chris stayed in the car at Melanie's while I went in and picked up a few things. Then we went to Macey's. I took out my glasses to read the ingredients on a pack of cheese. The screw had fallen out. Chris tried to put it back in and it fell on the floor. We could not find it. So Chris bought a glasses repair pack. But as we took our groceries to the car, he spotted an optician place. So we went in and the lady behind the counter put the lens back in and replaced the screw so the glasses were fully restored.

Faye called on our way home. The call dropped as we went through the mountains. I called her back on the other side. Chris stopped at the post office for packages, then we went home. I hung up with Faye and brought in stuff from the car. I read articles and listened to interviews on my laptop. Chris cooked asparagus. I ate supper.

I took two gallons of water to the garden and watered my plants. It might not be enough. When I got home, I dug up a mound and put in dog droppings. Then I made tea, and we watched two episodes of Quantum Leap. Chris went to bed and I stayed up way too late reading.

No new mounds

I got up a little after 7:30, not having heard the alarm. I squeezed a lemon, then took a shower and wiped down the bathtub. I brushed and swished. I knocked down the bird's mud from the door way. I checked the gopher trap. Unsprung, but no new mounds. Maybe it was the dog droppings I put in a nearby hole yesterday. I watered all the plants and took out the food waste. I got a msg from cc company asking if we made certain charges. I called Chris and the company. He disputed the charge by Holiday Inn Express.

I made breakfast, and started listening to The Highwire. They were talking all about Fouci and his sordid past. Chris came home for lunch, then went back to work. Rusty came by and gave me cash for helping to clean the house on the hill. I finishsed watching, and checked e-mail. William called to say he was home from the hospital. I got the chocolate off the strap to my computer case by soaking it in cold soapy water and hanging it out to dry. I soaked my foot in epsom salt water. I needled my toe but nothing came out. But it didn't hurt any more so maybe something did come out.

I went to the garden with some seedlings. Another sprinkler was going and prevented me from digging a hole. I noticed that the sprinklers were attached to long hoses from some of the first gardens. There was a big hole with a broken pipe dripping water. I concluded that the drip systems were not working and someone had installed these sprinklers to address the problem.

I went home and called Chris. Then I filled some gallon jugs and went back to water my plants. I dug some holes and planted some seedlings. A man came over from his garden and told me all about what happened and that it should be fixed this weekend. He told me a lot of other things, too, which made me think he didn't know who I was married to. I did not enlighten him.

I watered my plants and went home. Chris had cooked me mushrooms. We chatted for a long time. Then I made my evening drink and we watched two episodes of Quantum Leap. I got ready for bed.

The water is out

I got up just before the alarm went off, not sure what protocol to follow. I drank some baking soda water. I made coffee and exercised, etc, with watering plants thrown in. I had to rush meditation morning a little, then cleaned the bathrooms and kitchen.

I stopped early to go up to the house where Rusty said the insection team would be early. But no one was there. So I went down to the last turnoff and parked. I watched the road as I wiped down my dashboard with the wet cloth I brought to wipe up anything the inspection team found. When a black truck passed me, I drove back to the house and parked. It was the inspection team. I waited until Kristen arrived and went in with her. The inspection team took pics of everything. I mentioned some things that needed to be repaired. Then I talked with Kristen until the team decided everything was ok. Inspection lady told us about all the break-ins in her house and now that her neighbors moved, the break-ins stopped. Kristen signed papers and we left. She had to go to Housing to turn in the key.

I went home. I jotted notes for my blog. Faye was on Facebook so we texted back and forth. They took her swollen node out and sent it to a lab. Then the doorbell rang. CJ brought me a dozen eggs. They were $2 and I did not have change so she put it on my tab. I'll have to get some ones. Happily, some are duck eggs!

Chris sent me a weather report with excessive heat warnings with temps of 107. I vacuumed, then watched a presentation on tapping. There were also some interviews. I watched a movie called America Rewritten. I listened to Polly and Mary talk about current events.

Chris came home from work and fixed himself a turkey burritto. I talked to him, watching him prepare food, the decided I needed to leave since I don't eat on Wednesday. I went outside to move the gopher trap. I planted a tomato and a cabbage that Chris started from store-bought, into the flowerbed. I took the last two eggs from the store and went to the garden. Because the garden next to mine had a wide sprinkler on, I had to dig the holes while dodging the spray of water. I planted a melon of some kind and two cucumber seedlings. I fed all the plants from the 5 gallon bucket, but when I went to refill the jug, there was no water. Grrr.

When I got home, I made a cup of Nighty Night tea. We watched two episodes of Quantum Leap. I posted to my blog, read another article or two, and completed the bedtime ritual. I slept well and did not need the headphones.
